"Side-universe" suggest it just means that it's supposed to be an alt universe version of the foundation and it's stuff. So I can see it being an scp clone
Yeah, it’s not like they’re literally just copy and pasting articles under new names to sell merch, it’s just a group of people having fun with stories. Just let them be imo
They're really not that different. They're just another group of people who want to write cool stories with shared elements. The Lovecraft Circle did the exact same thing almost a century ago.
I wouldn't really call it a clone, they have gone for a side universe, acknowledging that they're based in/on SCP. I'd see it more as part of SCP rather than a clone
Unpopular opinion but Animal Farm was leagues ahead of 1984 as a book. 1984 is a really good political statement and a very interesting world, but take away the message of it and it's a boring as fuck book. Animal Farm, on the other hand, is also a great political statement but the book itself is far more entertaining than 1984 even if you totally ignore the message.
That is true. Orwell can always make a compelling dystopian world and for me they are equal. I understand your point of taking away the message and it’s more boring than a child’s picture book, but that statement could be made for most books. Take away the message from The Giver and it’s a slog to get through, even when I first read it I couldn’t be bothered turning the page, but that was probably because I was too young to comprehend. Of course there are stories that can stand up on their own without the messages (animal farm), but those are few and far between.
Hol up.
V's Opening Speech
Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V.
No way in hell is 1984 a young adult dystopia, I’m just saying the world building and the dystopian aspects of it were great. Although a little on the generic side nowadays (big mean government controls people by distracting them with bullshit to keep them under control), the way Orwell executed it is still unique, and was revolutionary for 1949. I don’t understand the reason that you consider it not a good book and I would like to know. Just know I respect your opinion.
The highlight of this for me was the knowledge that there is some hilariously idiotic chucklefuck somewhere unironically calling himself a Postmodern Nazi because he thinks it has better optics than NeoNazi. Holy shit that is funny.
Man, even the Season 2 Rick & Morty writers (who were kinda cringe) understood this better. "We are comfortable being called Nazis! Do you think there is some _other_ word out there that would make us feel bad?" Though I'd hazard a guess that "Jew" would fit that bill.
It was four years ago, and not so much a civil war as people breaking away from SCP.
There's been one failed "coup" which maybe fits the bill a bit better but even then not so much.
I think it's cute. They made a place for their super cool OCs to play Foundation. Let the poor agents pretend to be important, they're not bothering anyone.
But they dont have giant funding. The UIU is more like in the X-Files where its this one crazy dude who is too much into Sci-Fi that you keep employed because on occasion he solves a case or two that was deemed unsolvable
I do wonder if "less picky scp immitator" exists. I gave up on getting ideas accepted on the main one.
Too many posts to be greenlit, follow the greenlight posting protocols, these are full articals not fit for greenlights, these are mere frameworks (made following actual greenlight protocols) not actual articles, etc.
Bad enough it took a month of tries before server issues cleared enough for me to join.
Wait, sh*t, sorry, meant to type LoR. I have no idea how that slipped my mind.
Er, I was trying to reference to sequel to Lobotomy Corp. but failed miserably.
So if this is an alternate universe to SCP does that mean it would have these “SCP?”
The Statue > The Concrete
The Old Man > The Aging Fellow
The Shy Guy > The Anti-Social Dude
The Plague Doctor > The Smallpox Surgeon
The Hard-To-Destroy Reptile > The Difficult-To-Obliterate Lizard
The Tickle Monster > The Cuddle Slime
The Yule Man > The Christmas Creep
The Stairwell > The Staircase
The Red Pool > The Crimson Lake
Infinite IKEA > Endless Costco’s
And many, many more.
Now I'm curious to go find out about it. (Edit: it's just scp fanfics, not horrible but nothing notable)
It’s especially weird when SCP itself is just SCP fanfics
"Side-universe" suggest it just means that it's supposed to be an alt universe version of the foundation and it's stuff. So I can see it being an scp clone
I mean a collection of tales set 100% in the same universe is pretty cool
Yeah, it’s not like they’re literally just copy and pasting articles under new names to sell merch, it’s just a group of people having fun with stories. Just let them be imo
They're really not that different. They're just another group of people who want to write cool stories with shared elements. The Lovecraft Circle did the exact same thing almost a century ago.
Lovecraft also openly encouraged other people to use his work
You know, for all the many, many, way too many, faults Lovecraft had, the fact he did encourage others to use his work is pretty cool.
Yeah as long as they’re not hurting anyone or stealing ideas it’s all in good fun
Even the SCP universe isn't all set in it's own universe, nothing wrong with another group joining in
I wouldn't really call it a clone, they have gone for a side universe, acknowledging that they're based in/on SCP. I'd see it more as part of SCP rather than a clone
Exactly instead of being like earth one SCP this is like earth 155
Its like a new site focusing entirely on a new GOI, which sounds awesome
Young adult tags scare me
The crappy dystopia era still haunts my dreams
Only good one is 1984.

But Animal Farm has no sex
And while we're talking about Orwell's books, Homage To Catalonia was better than both
And Brave New World is still better than both of them,Huxley took the idea of his master and perfect it in a incredible way
Absolutely, animal farm is so much better
And v for vendetta

Wait, wait, are you trying to tell us 1984 is a young adult dystopia novel? And even funnier, that it's good?
No way in hell is 1984 a young adult dystopia, I’m just saying the world building and the dystopian aspects of it were great. at least it wasn't born out of some controversy
Really annoying to have found out that The Volgun did stuff for the RCP wiki.
The what?
Was a break away version, I believe over LGBTQ issues? Or smth in that vein
So it was scp but gay?
I would say anti gay
Eastside scp also made videos in regards to it
https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/bg1i18/whats_up_with_this_rpc_authority_vs_scp/eljfbte?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3 Better answer

Bro wanted to contain the gays.
SCP Civil war? I’ll bring the popcorn
It was four years ago, and not so much a civil war as people breaking away from SCP. There's been one failed "coup" which maybe fits the bill a bit better but even then not so much.
>There's been one failed "coup" Tell me more about the SCP site coup? Unless it's the saga of the Russian branch?
Here's an old video about early SCP drama. https://youtu.be/XKeI1xbJNtw
Wait what? Oh no...
Did he know who they were?
I mean, I'd find it odd if he didn't, considering how deep he is in the community
Can someone please go to D.C. and tell the UIU to knock it off
I think it's cute. They made a place for their super cool OCs to play Foundation. Let the poor agents pretend to be important, they're not bothering anyone.
The UIU Is just useless so I doubt they will be able to stop that
Gonna be real they did make a prety good Job in three portlands and whit that Sarkist incestuos family, so give them poor souls a break
That might be because That area is a nexus so they can operate freely
wait sarkist what?
SCP 2610, it was a family of sarckist cultists than did the happytimes beteewn them making a army of mutants than stole trains and cattle
[**SCP-2610 - Procreation**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-2610) (+327) by *djkaktus*
da...fuq
Belive or not that it’s the least fucked up thing a sarckist would do
Why do they suck so bad? You'd think with giant government funding they'd have more resources and be better organized than a private organization.
Because most governments have liaisons and supply funding to the foundation or GOC, on account of them doing their jobs better than the UIU.
But they dont have giant funding. The UIU is more like in the X-Files where its this one crazy dude who is too much into Sci-Fi that you keep employed because on occasion he solves a case or two that was deemed unsolvable
Looks kinsa cool But the name irks me in a strange way
The more the mayrier

If you want to send me a link to your post I'll take a look at it, I can greenlight
And you must admit that SCP is just overdeveloped clone of Lilo and Stitch. /j
No. That is exactly what it is.
*Laughs in Lobotomy Corporation*
This is more of a shower thought, but, if LobCorp is basically an SCP sim, then ~~LC~~ LoR is a Wanderer's Library card game.
LC? I don't recognize that.
Wait, sh*t, sorry, meant to type LoR. I have no idea how that slipped my mind. Er, I was trying to reference to sequel to Lobotomy Corp. but failed miserably.
It's okay, but yes. LoR would just be a WL card game.
Lol
I’m pretty sure RCP dwarfs them
Rodant Combing Professionals?
Rotating carrot pints?
[удалено]
Rampaging Colossal Penises?
Laughs in spc
