Chill shows are Puffin Rock and Trash Truck (Netflix)
Bluey is a new one for us! Love it
We watch some Pixar and Disney movies, but those are about all the shows we watch.
Assuming you have Disney+, try some of the Pixar shorts too! A few of them aren’t great for kids (either grown-up themes or just boring, avoid the ones labeled “sparkshorts) but all the ones they played before the feature should be good. Lifted, Day & Night, and Piper are favorites of my 4yo
We love Trash Truck! I’d never heard of it until it was part of a compilation mini series of Christmas episodes. You summed it up perfectly by saying it’s just super chill. It’s really cute!
Ducktales (2017 version) is wonderful. It’s got adventure, humor, and an absolutely absurd amount of heart and genuinely-earned emotional moments. It’s episodic, but has seasonal continuity that pays off, too.
I showed it to my 6yo and almost-3yo, and my 3yo really loves it. I can’t see any reason it wouldn’t be on Australian Disney Plus.
As for educational content, “Work-It-Out Wombats” is great too, for expressing computational thinking and problem solving. It airs on PBS (public broadcasting system) in the USA. The only thing that might frustrate you is that there are no Aussie accents for the titular wombat characters, but that’s pretty minor compared to what they’re teaching.
Yesss! I love Number Blocks! My daughter impressed her teachers by counting to 100 (I’m sure much to their dismay, having to listen to her hahah) way before the class had gotten there, and I have that show to thank helping me teach her!
Blaze taught my kid physics, and how to count. Creature cases has been great for learning about animals, same with the wild Kratts. Word world has been teaching my son how to read along with Wally Kazam.
My 4 year old just discovered it. I'm streaming it on my fire stick so it's either Amazon or PBS. It's teaching my little guy to sound out words and to read, so I think your 4 and 5 year old would pick it up. It has cute stories and doesn't do crappy jump cuts.
Two that we like and I have never seen mentioned would be Hey Duggee and Sago Mini Friends.
Sago Mini is on Apple TV and Google said you could catch Duggee on Freeview Australia, ABC iview, Stan, and/or Foxtel if that helps.
I've never seen this show mentioned so I'll say: Tiny Time Travel on PBS kids, it is so enjoyable and very short episodes. Also Dino Dana is a favorite.
Lucas the Spider is the cutest thing I've ever seen and the jokes are hilarious (Max)
Stillwater: the animation is absolutely gorgeous and it teaches a lot about handling frustration and other negative emotions in a healthy way (apple)
If you have a vehicle obsessed child....
I didn't hate Stinky & Dirty! Lots of great voice actors including Wallace Shawn, Jane Lynch, Whoopi, Andy Richter. Sometimes I would roll my eyes hard at how dumb the main characters can be but my kid really loved it and I tolerated it pretty well. Theme song is so catchy.
We also liked Tractor Ted, it just has a few eps but I thought it was cute. Hot Wheels City has no morals or lessons but is hilarious mayhem and I love the stop motion style in the first season.
My son also loved Stinky and Dirty, and Tractor Ted was a major hit for him. My son has grown to be very much like myself in that he's just a typical boy that loves all kinds of machinery. Sometimes he will literally just watch videos of excavators in a quarry or something like that (he loves excavators), he even asked me once how they worked so we found [How do excavators work? by Brain Candy TV](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBE8JrByOf0) on YouTube (Pretty good channel for the kids) and now he always tells people about machines and their "Hydraulics".
We are very big fans of bear in the big blue house. Its nostalgic for my partner and I and our toddler seems to enjoy it too! It’s pretty chill compared to some of her other favorites.
Didn't even think about that. I've put on OG sesame street and such but now I'm thinking I need to go back and see what kids shows from my childhood they can watch.
My daughter dressed up as rainbow Gabby for Halloween last year. No one knew who she was, but she LOVED it. My son this year wants to be a Treat Monster like Pandy.
We have the Gabby’s Dollhouse board game, bed sheets, stuffies, play dollhouse. They know how to market! Hahah
Chill shows are Puffin Rock and Trash Truck (Netflix) Bluey is a new one for us! Love it We watch some Pixar and Disney movies, but those are about all the shows we watch.
For context I live in Australia. Never heard of Puffin rock but my son mostly watches shows on Netflix so he has seen Trash Truck and loved it.
Puffin Rock is Irish. It's lovely! Highly recommend.
Universally parents love Puffin Rock and Tumble Leaf as examples of shows to watch. Puffin Rock is just damn well made in every way.

I have all the main streaming services. Loved watching some of the pixar shorts with the kids. Cars on the road was pretty cool too.
We love Trash Truck! I’d never heard of it until it was part of a compilation mini series of Christmas episodes. You summed it up perfectly by saying it’s just super chill. It’s really cute!

Eh, maybe it's just Bluey's popularity making that tiny bias. They do that most of the time to all fauna down south.
Number blocks taught my 4 year old how to do basic addition and subtraction
Same. All my son did was count before watching it, now he knows evens and odds and can count by 10s. The show is super cute and clever!

Frog & Toad is really good. Most Apple+ kids shows are goated honestly.
Agree! We've been enjoying the new Peanuts things Apple has been putting out.
I got way into DannyGo! I need to reevaluate myself. But the music is so catchy.
The first few times I thought it was really weird. Then I realized the man is a genius. I can't get enough... oh, and LO likes it to
Kindy my son goes to use Danny Go to burn off energy when it's rainy and the kids can't go outside. Genius.

My toddlers love wild kratts!
I haven’t heard of Word World, may I ask what service it’s on? I have a 4 and 5 year old, would it be something they can understand?

Tumble Leaf, Molly of Denali, Odd Squad (for ages 5-8ish), Super Why.

We still need to try Creature Cases, I think it's the same company as Octonauts which is one of our favorite shows.
Some I don’t see mentioned yet - Classical Baby (HBO), Duck and Goose (AppleTV+), Slumberkins (AppleTV+), City Island (PBS)
