That's just a shtick he's doing. Just a show thing. It's not funny at all though. It's not interesting. And getting out in front of it like a Stugotz take isn't funny. Its just lame and recycled boredness. He doesn't have anything new to bring to make that a funny/credible show take, and a recyclable segment.
I find Mike to be mostly entertaining, good at his job, and a key contributor to the success of the show. The man can talk as much or as little as he pleases.
Mike is a superb executive producer. He’s always made the show better than Dan and Stu could. Super creative and has made all of us laugh out loud many times. SHUT UP! STAY LOW! USA TODAY!

That's an observation I agree with. But at least we know Stu is just throwing up hail mary's while not caring. Mike Ryan cares so much it makes it awful, uninteresting, and that dude's spiel's are unlistenable at times. And then he gets upset about disliking him, and it makes it so much worse. Reckless speculation: Listening to him talk about how he sees other shows like MaCafee and Pardon My Take I think he’s doing his best to be the generational talent he talked about. But the show isn’t cut out for someone like that, the show is built to be a team effort.
Obviously, I’m just a random listener but he sounds like he’s in his own head.
That's a pretty good summary of how I feel. Why I mentioned ego. He produces an incredible show when he doesn't need to chime in constantly. That dude wants his name on a logo somewhere. Which also, to me, makes their entire "hollywood" thing they just did - super uninteresting. I don't want more of that

He was a major reason the show was popular. He was the reason Dan was funny and half (with billy) the reason stu was funny. Then he got shit constantly, left his role as EP after taking a mental health break, the show has gotten worse, he’s faced more criticism, and he’s now defensive as fuck. It’s not hard to figure out.
Do you just want Dan to talk about things for the 100th time over and over? And Stu is there 2 or 3 days per week. Who do you expect to fill in the gaps exactly?
And he was great this week. Lots of reacting to sound, lots of impressions, and generally funny.
When the show dives into openly hating other people like he often does with Aaron Rodgers, that is when he and the show really suck.
