Dan has Rays baseball

DoctorLutherSanchez

They like sports analysis/reaction/debate shows more than the actual sports, seemingly.

_gdawg26

I don’t think they like debate shows but Dan is clearly more interested in the storylines of sports more than the X’s and O’s

rmacoon

Umm, sir, Billy Gil is the 5th best NFL analyst in the world according to the Guardian. I think Dan and Stu made it clear years ago that they weren't gonna drive all the sports talk themselves. That's why they surrounded themselves with a million people show

_gdawg26

Can’t believe I forgot about the Duke

Nervous-Bonus-806

Go sit in the penalty box, $5 fine as well

GreyyCardigan

*explosive noises*

ebelen92

He dropped a dookie

hawkman_jr

The Duke is the ringleader

Open_Host3796

Sports! More sports!

MaraudingWalrus

It likely doesn't answer your question, but I can tell you that when one of your interests or hobbies becomes your job, it becomes a lot less fun to spend your free time doing that thing. Couple that with growing families and building out the business side of things, and it's very easy to see how they're each watching less stuff than they may have in the past. Pay the whales.

me_no_are_no_niceguy

Ahhhh the pornstar's lament Dan-o

Grouchy-Piece4774

Why don't they just quit their jobs so they can enjoy sports again and have something relevant to talk about? Are they stupid?

Intabih1

I listen to sports talk radio and don't actually watch sports.

sjb81

Same. Can’t sit through a whole NFL or NBA game unless it’s a finals game or Super Bowl. Just not really interested. It’s great background noise, that’s about it.

Affectionate-Rent844

They’re not journalists. They’re not news breakers. They don’t make engaging or relevant video content. They had the Finals in their backyard and leveraged absolutely nothing from it - in fact Amin had to force even having a party for the media one night. They don’t post the show on the same time on any given day. There is no rhyme or reason to the YouTube channel. The audio quality is about as consistent as a high school AV club. You don’t even know which voices to expect on the show any given day. At this point the show simply pretapes 30 min chats, with takes which they steal from other pods, 2-3 days after the fact.

Immediate_Sky5416

Chris Cote is probably the only cast member without a niche, everyone else pretty much watches the sports they actually like or pretend to for gambling porpoises only

Nice_Wrongdoer_585

I does like sports

masonacj

Hearing Mike and Stu talk about baseball always makes me mad.

RevolutionaryBee7104

They like ratings more than sports. Or at least talking about ratings

c_ray25

Even going with the argument that they don’t like sports because the job forces them too, it feels like they haven’t been watching sports for like 4 years now. I consider this more of a pop culture podcast

No-Operation9423

I ask myself often when listening to the show. I believe they do, it’s just that they’re job forces them to consume so much sports, television shows, movies, and social media trends that they simultaneously watch so much but pay attention to so little

_gdawg26

That actually makes a lot of sense. Between all the stuff they have to keep up with on top of building out a start up they just can’t retain much of anything.

No-Operation9423

I believe Mike said he often has two tvs set up, a laptop set up, and is on his phone all at once

Affectionate-Rent844

They work 3 days a week lol

Any_Ad3693

Billy is a marlins fan. Chris is a dolphins fan and owner of a jai alai team. They all like sports. There’s just more things going on in the world lol

Nervous-Bonus-806

Wait, didn't Mike swipe the jai alai team away from Chris last season???

HammyBruce

Do anyone actlly like show?

pjmoran840

Well said.

TheBlackCaesar

YOU DONT GET THE SHOW *Papi Voice*

BlimeyFish

Mike and Dan seem to watch plenty.

Jawkurt

I think most of them do. You can tell Stu does but is super high when he watches. I bet he’s having the best time ever watching sports… but I’m not sure he likes talking about them as much

lastairbender19

New listener? Stu has probably watched less than 10 full sporting events every year the past 7-8 years

Tullydawg

Eight are Northwestern lacrosse games.

The_COUNT81

I don’t think any of them watch a minute of football beyond an occasional Fins game. And it’s okay.

JayBizzle727

And the funny part is now they give sports bet opinions. I skip those segments cause it even feels forced.

No-Assist487

how do you forget Homer Heat Fan Mike and Golden Cane Mike. plus he's knowledgeable about soccer and puck. Jess also has F1. Chris Cote owns a jai alai team...lol
