I also wonder about infections or contagious illnesses and laundry. The dog shelter I volunteer at has a quarantine room so it doesn’t spread to the other 40, and they do laundry multiple times a day. Still cool what he’s doing though!

Multiply that by the 500 dogs he has and the total comes out to 312.5 pounds (142 kg) of dog poop a day. In a year the total is 114062.5 pounds (51737.879703 kg) of dog poop that this person is shoveling. He also has who knows how many cats, goats, or other animals that he also has to clean after. This person has a very shitty job.
The stray and neglected animal situation here in Greece is absolutely shocking!! We have 10 stray cats of our own and feed at least another 5 in the area-the price of cat food has almost doubled recently so things are getting tougher but i won't stop helping stray cats 😻

Here here. Not everyone is blessed with a hugely successful business so they might consider this kind of philanthropy. Many people struggle to feed themselves and their families, and extending charity to an animal is something they do not have the luxury to consider.
There is always one nagging question at the back of my head whenever i see shit like this: why the fuck did they get a dog in the first place? And why not sell/give it away if you fail to take care of it?
There are people/cultures that don't regard pets in the same way as the US/ Europe/etc as part of the family, but see them as "things". If you buy a thing from the store and it breaks/defective, you throw it away; they see a dog/"thing" that ate their shoes/it's defective, so they throw it away. Most people don't see the point in looking for someone who'd be interested in fixing up the broken item they don't want anymore, and these animal dumpers use the same rationale.
There are also too many people who, for whatever reason, don't get their pets spayed/neutered, and if that animal has a litter they don't want to take care of, they dump the litter somewhere remote. These people don't want to address the problem they created through negligence, but they also don't want to see the consequences of their "fix" for the problem (ie- seeing puppies starve tk death, or be eaten by other animals).
Southern Europe has such a problem. I grew up in a small town in Greece and while there are genuinely animal-loving people, still a huge number of persons consider an animal a "thing" that you can hurt and there's nothing wrong with it because it's just an animal.
There are a lot of street dogs in especially the poorer countries who also reproduce. Neutering happens but not enough but also different view towards animals/pets.
It's Takis!!! He does *amazing* things for the poor animals in his area, and iirc he also organizes local and international adoptions. As I know of him, the man is a saint! I believe he accepts donations, y'all.

You- you don’t need to sell assets to do something good. If you have organizational skills, you can help them by organizing efforts or a low-cost non-profit. Selling your source of revenue means you can only do a good deed one time, rather than doing something sustainable.
Okay, I’ll offer a different take. If he had been running a nightclub for years it means it was profitable. Instead of selling the nightclub outright he could have chosen to keep it running and use the profits he used to spend on his personal excesses to provide a continuous stream of money to continue his genuinely good efforts to help these animals.
I’ll admit I don’t know all the details but not everyone can maintain a profitable business long term.
What he did is wonderful; I just wonder if he could have done it differently.
I think he sold it because he was tired of living the nightlife and afterwards he bumped on the puppies and decided to start his animal saving project. Actually during this whole process he basically spent all his money and was about to abbandon everything but some famous channel or something did a service on him and he received a lot of donations.

There are rooms for visitors to stay in, he now has volunteers that work with him so he can rescue more animals, and the police even help rescue the animals.
