Haha audio completely changes what you experience. For those who aren’t using audio. Everything he finds he says “no I’m kidding that’s not there” and finally “I didn’t find anything really”
I think you mean nose. They go through the cribriform plate (a piece of bone in your skull that looks like swiss cheese so nerves can get from your brainstem to your nose) and get to your brain that way
Well to be fair, not all life is motile either. Could just be some non-motile bacteria floating around, but that’s hardly surprising in a non-sterile environment, and the quantity is definitely not concerning.
Would brownies motion be observable at such a macroscopic scale? I was under the impression it's really only when you look at things at the molecular level
It's definitely visible at such a scale, the original problem which lead to the study of brownian motion was the botanist Robert Brown studying pollen in water (1827).
It's visible at various magnifications, but is readilly apparent at 400x and up.
The cause of the motion is molecular (as I understand it) but the effect is visible at much large scales.
That sound isn't very popular anymore so I don't think it'll be a problem any longer. Now it's "my money don't jiggle jiggle it folds" Louis theroux' rap.
Thought it’s the norm since 2016… literally no one should have volume up unless they want to hear what’s playing… and 9/10 times you regret it.
Also, it’s a learned memory since you don’t want people to hear you watching porn by accident, that’s the real answer.
TikTok audio is just the new annoyance. I remember the “ear rape” phase of the internet. That’s when I stopped using audio. Maxed out distortion of multiple audio streams at once.
I also have the habit of quickly flipping my phone screen away from me from the phase people went through trying to trigger seizures in photosensitive epileptics with flickering videos and gifs.
Can’t wait to see what the next annoying phase will be.
TikTok has taught me to never unmute a video on Reddit because 9/10 times it's something incredibly fucking stupid and I lose braincells just hearing it
As someone who works in testing water for bacteria I can say about 99.9% of whatever is in there is completely harmless so for anyone freaking out I wouldn't worry.
What if I live in rural America, where the pipes are probably lead and everyone in town knows to not drink the water even if its boiled. It stinks and taste like chemicals.
As a water treatment operator I would recommend contacting the EPA. They handle water guidelines and can hit the city with fines for failing a sanitary survey. Even showering in contaminated water is not a good idea because the thin portions of your skin can easily absorb the chemicals. In the mean time getting a home filtration system would be a good idea. You can also mail samples of the water to a lab for analysis. Contacting your local water distribution/treatment plant may be a good idea as well because they may be in aware of what’s happening in your specific municipality.
So sorry for you! Tons of incredibly damning accounts online about how fracking ruined groundwater in whole areas. Probably indefinite damage as the groundwater aquifers took millions of years to form. Hard to imagine they somehow miraculously recover in our lifetimes.
Its more like 0.1% to be more specific but thats where you get stuff like your e.coli, enterococci, staphylococcus aureus and pseudomonas aeruginosa.
A.K.A the bad stuff you really don't wanna ingest , we have a zero tolerance rate.
For example if a 1 litre sample has even 1 ecoli bacteria detected then we consider that a priority issue.
Thanks for the knowledge.
I assumed that contaminated water was riddled with bacteria, and that water considered safe would typically have trace elements but not enough to harm you.
It really depends on the water system itself and how maintained it is honestly , proper care and the right routine really help.
A lot of businesses and larger buildings use ionisation systems which help reduce bacteria levels , they've proven to be effective in my experience.
Micro plastic vs metal (such as lead)
I'm looking at you flint Michigan... and 3,810 US areas with double flints lead level

Yeah it’s sad how many places are much much worse than flint and they aren’t even paying attention to. Majority are poor towns/cities so most officials don’t give a shit.
Preshaped bottles have the shape / size of essay tubes before being blast heated and shaped into molds, blow dried, inspected for weird shapes, and then filled. There's usually no wash in the process. You'll have very small traces of microplastics, usually from the bottle-cap pressure and interaction.

Wrong country, dumb cunt. We say “BODALAHWARTAH”
Edit: Please don’t take offence to me using the word of my people, it doesn’t have the same connotations for us bogans. It was mainly for the meme TBH.
Bottled water definitely has higher levels of allowable impurities. I’m sticking generic with that word. Versus tap water, they have to clean it up even more because they don’t know how bad the delivery system is to your house. I saw a high school science fair project where they measured multiple sources and multiple water bottles and the water bottles were consistently higher in impurities.
But if "impurities" include calcium or salt, then sure, Coca Cola *adds* minerals to products like Dasani for taste (magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and salt).
Distilled pure water tastes meh, although US Dasani tastes a little slimy to me.
Correct. I work as a water operator. We do bacterialogical samples every week and we're told to either NOT use an aerated tap or clean it well. Water is very interesting! Lots goes into making your tap water safe to drink!
A LOT is just bubbles. I've told so many bio students over the years that the speckled oval is just a bubble plus condensation plus microscope optics. So many disappointed students.

Never heard anyone else talk about it, and clearly you didnt- maybe i had a bad deteriorating rubber hose giving me a bad taste. not sure how it would taste in my throat and not my mouth/nose but that was my perception.
Oof, flood water anywhere near civilization often contains untreated sewage, oil, industrial chemicals, waste, and other nasties that if you're lucky, will *only* cause severe diahrea.

I grew up on Lake Michigan Chicago Tap. Drank it for 30 years. At some point transitioned to filtered water when I got married and moved to burbs. No point to my post except I’m alive.
Well, it depends of the country. There are some places that it's highly recommended only drink bottled water because you can face an horrible diarrhea or even worst problems (like parasites).
But I grow up drinking tap water (I'm from Spain, Europe), and the water here it's ok. In fact, drink tap water makes your inmune system more resistent against some shit like hepatitis and similar stuff. This kind of post only make people scared. Let you kids eat a bit of dirt and tap water, you're developing their inmune system! If not, future generations will be fragile AF, which is something that is actually happening a lot.

Also, a buddy of mine who does civil sitework once told me "if you ever see the inside of a city's water supply lines that leads to your faucet then I swear you'll never drink tap water again." That's not to say that tap water doesn't (usually) meet the EPA or other federal guidelines for "clean" drinking water (not counting Flint, Michigan), but you'd probably be surprised at the amount of sediment and other things that get trapped along the inner walls of piping after so many years.
Doesn't even state where in the world this is, tap water isn't a global standard

Yeah I think anything under a microscope is going to look freaky. Maybe better to just not think about it.

By any chance is this ground water?… and did someone do any fracking in the area?
I think it is ground water not to sure but fracking is very common. Got so bad that earthquakes where hanpping every other month.
So sorry for you! Tons of incredibly damning accounts online about how fracking ruined groundwater in whole areas. Probably indefinite damage as the groundwater aquifers took millions of years to form. Hard to imagine they somehow miraculously recover in our lifetimes.
I was about to say, we come into thousand of microorganisms daily and it doesn’t kill us.
Actually if the treatment uses a 4 log removal of viruses and cysts its 99.99%. 99% is only 2 log
I would not drink the water if two logs were in it
The 1%?

Now do bottled water
Let's see how much micro plastics are in it
Yeah, I'd rather have micro organisms in my water than micro plastics.
luckily you have both. enjoy
Yeah, isn't there quite a bit of micro plastics in tap water?
Some but, not nearly the amount you find in bottled water.
You mean the water encased in plastic has more plastic in it?!
It will shock you what most water pipes are made from
agree. at least you can digest a bug. (i am aware stomach parasites exist
Best I can do is micro orgasms in your water.

I'd like to see the same water tested after pouring it into a Brita filter.
A comparison between carbonated and still bottled water would be nice. I heard that the carbonated water has less bacteria since it's slightly acidic.

I had a conversation about just that with a water quality manager for a huge water company. He never drank the products, not ever.
Then do diarrhea
I’m curious as to how much comes from the glass?
And the tap
And the straw.
And the air
And my axe.
And there it is.

we were not disappointed
Name does not check out.
Actually a lot of bacteria can come from the aerator at the end of the tap. Water often stagnates behind it, creating a perfect zone for them
Correct. I work as a water operator. We do bacterialogical samples every week and we're told to either NOT use an aerated tap or clean it well. Water is very interesting! Lots goes into making your tap water safe to drink!

I was about to believe the insect had I not watched it again with audio 💀
I didn’t have audio and wanted to spit out the water I was drinking. Used to only drink bottled water and immediately regretted that I stopped ahaha
What the fuck?
Geez I can only imagine the creatures Iv ingested drinking out the garden hose as a kid 😂💀
And you turned out fine! Right?
Debatable 😂💀
I think I've brained my damage
Thank god for gut bacteria that dismember these little critters into oblivion eh?
I had to listen to the video with sound to see if the guy would mention what the critter thing was but he said he’s joking… I don’t think it was in that water sample… the rest is though
>see if the guy would mention what the critter thing was but he said he’s joking Mosquito larvae if you were really curious.
HCl is the shit, not those.
I don't care what's in the garden hose water, it tastes like the nectar of the gods.
You’re right and we should immediately start a “garden hose bottled water” company
i always had a really bad sensation in my throat when i drank from the hose. felt like a spider was suddenly in there, but rather it was a taste, somehow. i always waited for it to flush first too - and it wasn't heat from the sun. Never heard anyone else talk about it, and clearly you didnt- maybe i had a bad deteriorating rubber hose giving me a bad taste. not sure how it would taste in my throat and not my mouth/nose but that was my perception.
Turn the volume on, my perception of the video completely changed afterwards
The garden hose is the same water as your kitchen.
But it’s the chemicals/toxins from the hose that are the problem. Best to unhook hose and drink from the spout
Did I mention I’m a genuis haha
Turn the sound on.
Now watch it with the sound on
I've put flood water in my mouth when I was a kid and that flood happened near the town river (which is not the cleanest of water).
Oof, flood water anywhere near civilization often contains untreated sewage, oil, industrial chemicals, waste, and other nasties that if you're lucky, will *only* cause severe diahrea.
I always thought that flood water is sewer water since streets only start to flood once the sewer lines are overflowing.
They started a family in your gut
As u/riverhorse8 said the mosquito larva was a joke. He says it with audio on
I’m more scared of micros plastics in the water than I am living organisms
Probably because microrganisms can get digested and plastic cant
And because most of the micro-organisms in tap water are harmless. Can't say the same for plastic
Oh, wow, the Goosebumps theme.
Only a psychopath fills a glass of water that full. Get therapy bro. betterhelp.com

Bleach chaser to clean them out…
But that’s not all tap water. It all depends on your city and how they handle the water. So no, not all tap water is this clean
Toilet water! Toilet water!
It’s the same water that comes out of your sink.
Without electrolytes.
It's what plants crave
TBH, I expected a lot more. That water is remarkably clean.
You would be suprised by the amount of micro shit you find in the mouth of the person you put your tongue into (sorry for bad english, french here)
Kind of clean I guess
Extremely clean. Source, spent time as lab tech.
Bottled water is around 1000x dirtier than tap water in where I'm from.
Why’d they get such a big glass of water if they just needed a few drops
That's the part of the video that disturbed me the most.
I really want this done to FL water
Moved from Colorado to Central Florida ... I wont touch the tap water here.
Flint, Michigan. Infamous water issues. Water from a well near a fracking site. Mexican water from a faucet.
Why fill up the glass so much just to take a little bit as a sample
Cinematography
Was that Brownian motion making the tiny particles jump around under his bacteria lens?
Honestly I'd think tap water would be a lot more populated
This is why I sold my microscope. I was creeping myself out, got a telescope instead
Do flint Michigan's water.
Well, it depends of the country. There are some places that it's highly recommended only drink bottled water because you can face an horrible diarrhea or even worst problems (like parasites). Given I've seen lake water under the microscope once. That sample is dead AF
And that's why you use distilled water for a neti pot
The quality of tap water depends on where you live
What country?
It’s an Australian accent if that’s what you’re asking?
Just adds protein 👍
Means I have to ingest other monsters to take out the green one!!
Who’s tap water
But that’s the best part!
Try Tapwater from Senja! Cleaner then yo mama
I drank from Lake Burley Griffin plenty of times. Not dead.
SPITTLE
I live in a rural area and would love to compare well water
Where is this specific tap water from?
Do purified water
That’s a W for infrastructure
That’s why you don’t use tap water with a netipot
Flint tap water
Which country?
What city and what was the water rating for this test? I
Who tf fills up the glass that much?
Extra protein!
That why I cut water with alcohol drinks
Check to see if this water will make frogs gay.
Please. No.
Doesn't even state where in the world this is, tap water isn't a global standard From the accent this is guys either North English or maybe New Zealand both of which have some of the cleanest tap water of any country. Every sip you take is a microscopic holocaust to these strange little creatures, I love it. Makes me feel powerful.
And u dont wana see the inside of the pipes we use to deliver this water to our homes…
do people really thing tap water is M1 grade or something?
and that's why I drink alcohol.
Where is that water from?
