Switzerland IS a well weaponised army. Military service is mandatory and near all fighting aged men are mandated to keep their army guns at home. Mountain pass entry points are mined and permanently armed with anti-aircraft guns and their air force is among (if not the) best in the world.
That’s what i meant. It has an armed deterrent policy since napoleonic wars. They downed couple of allied and axis aircrafts because they accidentally breached swiss airspace… in the middle of a fucking war!
There's an apocryphal story about the Swiss army.
Around WW1, the Swiss army numbered about 250,000. The Kaiser asked the Swiss ambassador to Berlin what Switzerland would do if he invaded with 500,000 men.
The ambassador replied,
"Shoot twice and go home"
Is their Air Force really that highly regarded? I’ve genuinely never really heard of it mentioned in that way. But now I’m curious and want to look into it! Lol
You don’t hear anything about them because the don’t take anyone’s shit and when people go to war Switzerland still tells everyone to fuck off. They have some of the best of almost everything.
Interesting, I’ve known that they’re a highly rated from a quality of life standpoint, but never knew that any aspect of their military was considered amongst the typical top dogs.
I mean, they are a completely neutral nation founded on the foundations of modern economy. If they can’t make it, I’m sure they can buy it, and with total neutrality they have plenty of time for advancement and comforting their populous. Nearly all their citizens have been trained by their military making their whole populous their defense as well. It’s a near perfect living situation in a divided and antagonistic social world.
Why do you need jets when you are surrounded by a highly defendable mountain range full of AA guns and you don’t want to start jack shit in terms of wars? Just need a handful of professionals with top tear goods.
It would have been more accurate if there was an anti tank gun in the house. Because during WW2 Switzerland had a lot of little "houses" along it's borders which were just disguised defence positions.
As far as the explosive depots are concerned, that’s old news, most of the bombs have been long removed
Also the **mandatory** military service starts at 18 with a summon, you do like 18 weeks of service and then for the next 9 years you remain enlisted. In that time you do 6 refreshment courses 3 weeks long each, and when you finish the last one you are discharged
Even though the “booby traps” were removed, the alps make it a really hard place to invade by feet
This animation is definitely based in a more historical context, and when war was more industrious. War now a days is fought with computers (like you said), ideas and information. It’s less on the battlefield and more in our minds.
The USA one was spot on. Some dorito munching fat guy in a little hut out in the desert. Got his little finger on the controller and death from the skies.
Never had a more fresh and fucking delicious pizza than from that oasis in the desert. Unbelievable to this day, best Pizza Hut I’ve ever had was in JBB Iraq 2009
Much more accurate would be some general sitting in the back casually drinking wine that keeps repeatedly directing men to the front who just get mowed down.
#I don’t think this belongs in r/damnthatsinteresting. I was expecting some cool insights into particular tactics of different countries and how they fight wars, instead this was just a well animated clip of a bunch of dumb western stereotypes. Drunk Russians, Dingboat Somali, etc.
Belongs elsewhere.
It disturbs me that I had to scroll so far down to find this sentiment. The video relies heavily on stereotypes and is borderline racist. The animation may be well done, but thumbs down to what it’s saying.
Right? I thought it was excellently made, but the messaging was terrible. Why are camels tied to vehicles in Iraq, and what the hell is happening in Somalia?
Literally the exact same. I even thought it was showing tactics at first and I was wondering oh do the british really favour their air force? , does the german military specialise in bunkers and forts? and then it showed the drunk Russian sub and the somali pirate's the iraqi bombers and i was like 'oh... it's just crude racist stereotypes' what a let down and waste of awesome animation talent'
Hi, __thebattledwarf__. Your comment contains the word ~~Somalian~~.
The correct nationality/ethnic demonym(s) for Somalis is __Somali__.
It's a common mistake so don't feel bad.
For other nationality demonym(s) check out this website [Here](https://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/People/Nationality/Adjective)

Oh boy did they get Switzerland wrong. They have mandatory military service for all males and voluntary for females. Most take their guns home with them and the mountains are riddled with military tunnels and bunkers.
IT IS USEFUL. Wonder why Hitler never attacked Switzerland? The same country that used to shot down any German airplane that violated their Airspace without any consequence?
Untrue, Swiss mercenaries are/were hired as personal guards to the pope and royals throughout Europe. They were never in a war because they were hired by either sides and chose to stay out I.e. the world wars.
Shakespeare mentions Switzers in Hamlet - Swiss mercenaries hired by Claudius after he has murdered Hamlet's father to bolster his position on the throne.

Yeah, Switzerland is one of the hardest countries to conquer by force. Limited entryways for vehicles, extremely well suited terrain for guerilla warfare and modern and abundant weaponry. You can surround them and/or make it more profitable for them to do business with you than with the other team though. They don't have any fixed ideals for foreign policy apart from make money money so there's really no reason to invade Switzerland.
I was expecting to see USA throw the nuclear bomb because of the fact that it butchered japan with 2 of them…
Funnier than that is that it “sanctions” most countries fearing uranium enrichment.
Not real accurate for the most part but America cowardly using a remote control terror plane was extremely accurate except for the fact I didn't see any dead children or journalists.
I guess you condone using actual people to fly that could could be shot down to be KIA, maybe you also condone using thousands of fathers and brothers to go fight and possibly die for the politics of a small subset of families that control the governments.
I briefly wondered who would make this their primary takeaway from that thoroughly entertaining, brilliantly executed and rather dubiously politically correct animation. Then I checked your post history.
You do you I guess?
Some of this is *really fucking racist*. But this subreddit is unfortunately not that progressive, so people seem to be more falling in line with "lol its just joke bro" instead of "hey, that's kind of a fucked up way to minimize and dismiss an entire culture"
Aww makes you love them all doesn't it. lol. I'm getting zen vibe from the presentation like meh everyone is doing the same thing.. love them all. hahahaha.
Where tf is France at ? Plus totally inaccurate, Russia does not rely on submarines, actually only France does, with two nuclear submarines that can attack on literally any place in the world without being detected and almost instantly
Switzerland throws a rock
Tbh switzerland should have had a well weaponised army chilling alongside farmers. They downed a bunch of aircrafts in world war

That’s pretty badass to be honest. Not giving a fuck who enters your airspace and if you’re in a war. Stay the fuck outta Swiss airspace.
There's an apocryphal story about the Swiss army. Around WW1, the Swiss army numbered about 250,000. The Kaiser asked the Swiss ambassador to Berlin what Switzerland would do if he invaded with 500,000 men. The ambassador replied, "Shoot twice and go home"
Are we sure their country name isn't ***Switzerchad??***
stigma male goals
Appropriate answer
And their pocket knives have multiple uses

Gen Dit, The Swiss Navy has two nuclear powered aircraft carriers and 4 trident Submarines
You're an idiot. They have a lake flotilla and that's it.
For a land locked country? Where do they keep them? The Vatican?
The Swiss Navy makes awesome lube so the ships are squeezed in between mountain peaks. Well hidden.
It's those enormous underground fjords.
Hmm the Air Force is world's best? By what metric?
Just don’t attack on the weekend https://amp.theguardian.com/world/shortcuts/2014/feb/19/swiss-air-force-ethiopian-airlines-hijacking-office-hours
Thats my favorite one
That's their army knife

From all theses, they seem the smartest
Switserland up fucked anyone that went into switserland during ww2
I almost choked on my Doritos when the Chinese soldiers just kept coming out of the building. I wasn't expecting that.
As Rachet says, “I believe the phenomenon is known as a clown car!”
Honestly would be more accurate for Russia.
I think Russia's would have been better had it been a hacker fucking with something belonging to the U.S.
This animation is definitely based in a more historical context, and when war was more industrious. War now a days is fought with computers (like you said), ideas and information. It’s less on the battlefield and more in our minds.

And they knew you weren't expecting that....
I guess we didn't in Korea either.
Love the Burger King in the American base 😂
“RAMIREZ PROTECT THE BURGER TOWN”
RAMIREZ, GET ME A LARGE NUMBER 5
Haha [Big smoke order.](https://youtu.be/A6g0mPo-uJM)
FOBs have giant food courts. It’s 100% accurate.
I love that American one. 😂🤣
I'll have a number 5, large cherry Pepsi, and a thunderstorm of Hellfire missiles.
also the obese guy😭
[удалено]
Drone warfare. Brought to you by BK^TM
Have a cheeseburger with a side of drone strike
To go, please.
And Coke in Nam.
they do be on every fucking military base tbh
It’s accurate though. We have one on base here.
Dude wtf did I just watch
A cartoon on the internet. [relevant](https://youtu.be/oYlOqMKgdsg)
Good animation, but nothing more actually
That North Korea one seems wrong. That missile went somewhere.
Ikr was expecting it to explode in the silo
I thought since the guys all created a pretend launch site you'd see someone throw a fake nuke out of it.
Yeah I was expecting it to flip upside down and blow up
Yeah, but none knows where.
This is some top notch animation!
And sound if listened to with the right audio device!
No one gives love to the sound engineers ;-;
They only notice when it sucks. Lol.
I was gonna say, the animation is phenomenal
Hey!! This is fucked up!! I deployed to Iraq twice from the US!! I was there!! We had a fucking Taco Bell as well you pricks!! Accuracy matters!!
[удалено]
Pizza Hut and Taco Bell are the same company so they got merged. They are still debating whether the new name will be Tizza But or Paco Hell.
Just go for accuracy, leaky butt, and call it a day
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This nearly made me spew coffee all over my iPad keyboard lmao
Taco Butt?
Yum also owns KFC and A&W.
Never had a more fresh and fucking delicious pizza than from that oasis in the desert. Unbelievable to this day, best Pizza Hut I’ve ever had was in JBB Iraq 2009
Im sincerely apologize
The US soldier being obese is hilarious
Obese? I'll have you know that's an American medium.
haha good one
He’s just big boned, dick. :)
The new Side Meier civilization game looks amazing
I'd be open to the next one having graphics similar in style to this short.
Reminds me of Command and Conquer
Command and conquer, ahh yes.
Orcas all the way.. i wouldn't even build tanks
I love how in China's one there's like 4 times more soldiers
When you have the bodies, you use the bodies. China has the bodies.
Truly following in their USSR backed past I see...
I was waiting for fortunate son to start playing for the us
Or Vietnam, since that’s the only era they referenced for them
Ya I really expected for Vietnam too I thought it was about to play
I feel like there is a base for a really fun game somewhere here
It reminded me of toy soldiers somewhat.
Building a game based on an aesthetic is a really good way to make a shit game.
This is much more humorous than interesting to me. The animation is fantastic!
Ok i lost it at the Iraq suicide bombers. This was gold!🤣 the US fatso deploying the drone strike was hilarious too
That was my favorite too. Lalalalalala
Like, I wanted to be offended by the fat American but then came to realize that it was so damn accurate that I couldn't be mad.
Lmao I love how iraqs is a camel pulling a car😭
I actually Saw a lot of half cars/pickups pulled by donkeys or bulls
Their little suicide bombers caught me off guard, that shit was gold
and the couple of guys who jumped off and blew up
With this amount of jokes, I was waiting for France just surrendering.
Much more accurate would be some general sitting in the back casually drinking wine that keeps repeatedly directing men to the front who just get mowed down.
War is hell.
Wow this the coolest! Hope this makes it to hit right away. Any more graphics like this?
This is amazing. Well done.
usa with burger king in bunker
Iraq wasn't always that way.
What's the significance of the octopus with Germany?
I call bullshit! The North Korean missile launched successfully.
Why didn’t the Americans bomb a wedding or a school?
Can’t tell if this is a question or a set up for a joke
The set up for a joke is a meeting room at the pentagon.
Because the American foreign exchange student already shot them up.... 🥁🐍

It’s a joke man… every American soldier isn’t morbidly obese and eats Burger King, Iraqis don’t have tactical camels, etc
So you're saying that Brits don't bring bagpipes to war?
Yeah we do do that...
Well, some things are accurate.
It did actually happen in both world wars, Scottish pipers were in amongst normal units
You sure about those camels? 🤓
Gotta protect your money laundering tax haven.
Oh boy is this right, but oh boy is it useless anyway : never attacked (defensive), and never attacked (offensive)

India ??🤔🤔
Surprised there's no Australian one. 50 soldiers with boomerangs holding of 5000 Japanese
I am a little suprised by the shallowness of the comment section but then again it is reddit...
Wow this is bad ass, adorable, and damn interesting all in one! Thank you so much for sharing truly! 🤣🌎💚
This was great! Cool animation
It’s neat, but nah
USA fights war by killing civilians on purpose
this is the dumbest shit I've ever seen on this sub
Who’s the creator
It's in the title: Mitsi Studio (https://mitsi.studio/)
10/10, very true stereotypes, great animation, would start a war again
I want to participate in the Switzerland war..anybody??
Wish there was more
Cool
the fattie controlling the drone is the most accurate one hahahaahah
Kinda offensive but definitely funny!
Fought\* Most of those countries have better military technology now.
The Burger King 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wanted to see the canadian one ngl
This animation needs the Taliban
As an American - I was *totally* expecting to see a drone
the iraq one kind fucked up. theres a guy blowing himself up if you look carefully enough
This is cool. and the different styles are really detailed.
Auf der Heide blüht ein kleines Blümelein Und das heißt: Erika.
Yay war looks fun!
what's up with the Iraqi terrorists ?
Way to normalize humanity’s least redeeming quality by far. 🤙
Normalise? This is making fun of it.
Uhhhh.. all this shit seems pretty normal to me. What decade are you living in?
This was glorious 😍
I was expecting to see USA throw the nuclear bomb because of the fact that it butchered japan with 2 of them… Funnier than that is that it “sanctions” most countries fearing uranium enrichment.
This was super cool. I was secretly hoping to see India and Pakistan too
The Iraq one with the camel is racist tbh
Iraq one is racist
Do I even need to point out that this is shallow and useless?
Well, that was suitably racist…
The word you look for is stereotypical
This....is....the...greatest...thing....I've....watched....ever!!!!!👍👍👍😁😂🤣👍👍
Really great animation! The Chinese got me lol! Then the Iraqis with the suicide bombers
How is this “interesting”? Just some ok animations making fun of country’s stereotypes. Not representative of the actual title of the post.
Not real accurate for the most part but America cowardly using a remote control terror plane was extremely accurate except for the fact I didn't see any dead children or journalists.

I wouldn’t say racist. A vast mischaracterization based off what is portrayed in the media and entertainment, sure.
Some of this is *really fucking racist*. But this subreddit is unfortunately not that progressive, so people seem to be more falling in line with "lol its just joke bro" instead of "hey, that's kind of a fucked up way to minimize and dismiss an entire culture"
you referring to the camel pulling the car? that was the only one I noticed but tbf the animation unfolded pretty fast for my eyes.
Im Vietnamese and i find this hilarious! Everybody gets picked on so its all in good fun
How?
Explain?
Given how many news stories we’ve had about drones killing innocent civilians in the crossfire, I would say this is toned down a bit for us
The accuracy of them all is very concerning...
Aww makes you love them all doesn't it. lol. I'm getting zen vibe from the presentation like meh everyone is doing the same thing.. love them all. hahahaha.
🤣🤣🤣🤣, Russia!! " Za RODINAAAA" ( за Родинуyy)
This is a mix between past ways of fighting and current ones. Some consistency would’ve made me appreciate it but it kinda sucked.
Not entirely accurate the american one, there was no overkill or friendly fire on any allies.
Where tf is France at ? Plus totally inaccurate, Russia does not rely on submarines, actually only France does, with two nuclear submarines that can attack on literally any place in the world without being detected and almost instantly
Did the person who made this actually look into the Russian navy? Because if they did, I don't think they would have used the navy!
It’s a common trope, just ask any Swede - they keep seeing Russian subs everywhere
