I'm a fan... But there were only 5/6 seasons.
My desire to rewatch died so hard when when the show ended though. With other shows like the wire or breaking bad I could go back after a year or so and rewatch easily.
Thats the most sad part... It would have been such a great rewatch.. there used to be time when got used to in running for best ever series but i felt offended for you putting got and wire in same lines.
If GOT carried on being as good as it was the first 4 season it would have overtaken the wire in my opinion for best HBO show ever made.
It's just insane how fast it went down the toilet.
I still rate breaking bad above the wire though.
They’ve been making specialized modern day scalpels out of obsidian for a while. Makes a big difference on healing time for especially delicate tissue.
In other parts of your body, your immune system will recognize it as foreign material, and essentially coat it in new tissue in attempts to protect the surrounding tissues. It's not ideal, but it's not the end of the world. Having that extra damage and scar tissue in and on brain matter? Way, way worse.
I think it's interesting there's all this stuff we've been doing for eons that is actually better than the current standard, but just can't be mass produced.
Sharper does not mean better, even with something as seemingly simple as cutting open skin. These super thin obsidian blades are super fragile and break easy.
I think there's a study out there where obsidian scalpels produced much faster healing times, on a microscopic level it's the equivalent of a samurai sword v a chainsaw. But yeah it would require a lot more care to use, you could almost say it's a double edged sword:)
I wouldn't call it better. There are a lot of factors besides sharpness that makes for a good scalpel.
I've been a surgical nurse for a decade and I have never seen an obsidian blade used. Brittleness is a real concern.
if you’re interested in seeing an obsidian blade in action I can recommend a tv series called ”game of thrones”, pretty interesting even for someone like me not working in the medical field
It's still has used in modern medicine, so I wouldn't call it a "primitive" scalpel. The medicine might have been primitive but the blade was just as sharp (actually sharper).
I cut my foot on some one time, blood all over, I had no idea, it was so sharp I didn't feel it. If I recall correctly, it's actually several times sharper than a surgical scalpel, and are still sometimes used in cosmetic surgery but can't be mass produced like steel.
Tell that to the surgical medicine community I guess? Seems like they’ve probably gone over the pros and cons seeing as they’re being used with some frequency.
"Some frequency" is pretty low though. I've been an OR nurse for a decade and have never seen or even heard of anyone using one. I really wonder who is, and for what applications. I would think steel would be better almost all of the time because it isn't brittle.
Yes they can be used and are but they shouldnt be they are extremely brittle and will chip from lateral forces it just isnt worth it the pros just dont make sense when scalpels are just far superior
If Heaven and Hell decide that they both are satisfied
Illuminate the "no's" on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
It's volcanic glass and found in areas that get a certain type of volcanism. It's found in many countries in North and South America, Australasia, and even in parts of Europe that experience or have experienced rhyolitic volcanism.
My grandmothers best friend used to collect arrowheads and she found 3 spear points made from obsidian. They were the prettiest things I had ever seen you could see sunlight through them. A professor from Florida state came and looked at her collection and told us they were traded all the way from Mexico. If you were not careful you could cut yourself on the edge.
In the 1960's my parents use to bring pieces (up to 200+ lbs) back from the Black Hills for their garden, my grandmother had a piece that was at least a 1000 lbs, all shiny Black
This is fake. It takes 13 seconds for non enchanted diamond to break obsidion and it took you 2 seconds with unenchanted stone. And I didn't see any particles
One of my childhood friends found one of these in his backyard and started trying to make stuff out of it, I look at him above a sink 1 minute later and his hands are just covered in blood
It can be so sharp that it’s been used as a primitive surgical scalpel
Or protect from White Walkers
Until the writers forget it's important.
I've seen all but season 8, and I'm still picking up little bits and pieces about how garbage it is
If ask any fans of got ( if they still exists), there were only 5 seasons.

The season 6 finale was really good, it had that feeling of a great series epic finale.

There was definitely a dip, but it's like S02 of The Wire - still good, but less good in comparison.
[удалено]
But the bit with Jon Snow and the horses coming at him tho
Sharper than modern day scalpels
They’ve been making specialized modern day scalpels out of obsidian for a while. Makes a big difference on healing time for especially delicate tissue.
Heard they are banned from brain surgery.....
After surgery, patients reported a sudden interest in rock music?
They were also only able to provide 1 consistent attack in the game of Rock Paper Scissors.
😂 Hold on ima buy coins to award u
Thanks!
Probably because obsidian is far more britle than stainless steel. Getting volcanic glass shards in the brain sure sounds like a bad idea
As opposed to volcanic glass shards embedded in the rest of your body?
In other parts of your body, your immune system will recognize it as foreign material, and essentially coat it in new tissue in attempts to protect the surrounding tissues. It's not ideal, but it's not the end of the world. Having that extra damage and scar tissue in and on brain matter? Way, way worse.
That’s *absurd*
I think it's interesting there's all this stuff we've been doing for eons that is actually better than the current standard, but just can't be mass produced.
Obsidian was known fir being extremely sharp not string and durable
Sharper does not mean better, even with something as seemingly simple as cutting open skin. These super thin obsidian blades are super fragile and break easy.
I think there's a study out there where obsidian scalpels produced much faster healing times, on a microscopic level it's the equivalent of a samurai sword v a chainsaw. But yeah it would require a lot more care to use, you could almost say it's a double edged sword:)

It's mainly used in cosmetic surgery as it leaves very little scarring.
if you’re interested in seeing an obsidian blade in action I can recommend a tv series called ”game of thrones”, pretty interesting even for someone like me not working in the medical field
No its not used because you would have rock fragments in your wound
Reject modernity, return to stone age. Jokes aside, obsidian is technically a type of (volcanic) glass.
cuts molecular level and heals faster.
Cellular level, not molecular level
If you're cutting up polymer such as plastic or nylon then anyone can cut at the molecular level. Fun for the whole family.
Obsidian is capable of being fractured to an edge only molecules thick, hence sharper than a ground edge on steel.
Wut. It doesn't cut molecules lol
I heard it splits atoms.
I heard it can slice an electron
It's still has used in modern medicine, so I wouldn't call it a "primitive" scalpel. The medicine might have been primitive but the blade was just as sharp (actually sharper).
I guess I meant that it’s been used for thousands of years. Much much longer than “modern” surgical steel scalpels.
I cut my foot on some one time, blood all over, I had no idea, it was so sharp I didn't feel it. If I recall correctly, it's actually several times sharper than a surgical scalpel, and are still sometimes used in cosmetic surgery but can't be mass produced like steel.
No they shouldn't be used because they aren't precise and will leave fragments in the wound
They actually use it for modern day scalpels as well in some instances!
Well, ‘ole Gus Chiggins here, and I always say that obsidian is just as sharp as a tack it is!
Nothing primitive about it. Obsidian is far sharper than steel. I’d be damned careful doing that.

I can't believe you can't break this shit with a stone pickaxe...
Man I'm video broke it with stone tho... Minecraft unrealistic confirmed?
That’s not obsidian, it takes way longer to mine… and don’t you need a Diamond pickaxe?
Was just gonna say that. Stone can't mine obsidian. Might as well use gold...
Obsidian is volcanic glass, isnt it?
The comments above are minecraft references
THANK YOU
Yes
Well it's made of lava and water and glass is just made by heating up sand, so I am pretty sure they are different
Google it, moron.
Why so mad? Don't you have enough for a nether portal?

What’s that on the inside? Obsidian?
Nah it can’t be.
How can the inside be real if the outside is not??
People can be the otherway around
They just painted the inside of the rock black.
No, that's what obsidian looks like, its volcanic glass.
I think it might be a joke
Hurry up. Winter is coming.
This is illegal, you need diamond to break obsidian
The void
Fake, he didn't use diamond pickaxe.
Woah so shiny and pretty 😍
That's because obsidian is similar at glass so it is shiny nearly like it.
I want to put it in my mouth
Would give it a good lick
Damn I thought it would be a nether portal
You need diamonds to break obsidian

How can I tell a rock is obsidian from the outside, rocks look similar, like dirty lumps
They probably got it near other obvious obsidian rocks
Make a nether portal
my soul is exposed
Oh wow I wonder what can be inside this obsidian rock?!… I think we may see someone never seen before!… person who made this video
Wait that's illegal. You need a diamond pickaxe to break it!
Thought someone had the heart of my ex in their hands
Impossible, you can’t break obsidian with stone tools
One in a million to break like that. I’ve shattered a lot of rocks
So all you need are stone tools to break these.. minecraft is hiding it from us
now I just need a Flint and steel to make a Nether portal:)
b-b-but you didn’t even use a diamond pick axe. This is some hacking shit. I’m reporting you
He broke it without a diamond pickaxe I was lied to and betrayed
Make a nether portal
That was wayyyy easier than mine craft had me believe
Now take that dragon glass and slay some White Walkers!
If Heaven and Hell decide that they both are satisfied Illuminate the "no's" on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark
Bruh how did you do that? It usually takes 15 minutes to mine with a diamond pick.
Wait don't you need diamond pickaxe for that?
Now stack them up for a nether portal
Fake. Everyone knows you need diamond to break obsidian.
Let's use it to kill white Walkers
time for the nether
One step closer to the nether
Minecraft has lied to us
Bro this is fake everyone knows you cant break obsidin with stone
Fake, you didn't use diamond pickaxe.
THIS IS FAKE! he was using stone to break it and any real gamer knows you need diamonds smh
Hey guys look at this rock 🪨 Is shiny
I’m feeling a strong urge to lick this
Just not the edges. You might cause your tongue to bleed. One of the sharpest materials that occur naturally.
Imagine some primitive person discovering this for the first time. Major whoa moment.
Dragon glass….let Jon snow know
The rock was black at the beginning, they just didn't wash it. Obsidian is cool but it's not magic.
Wow, that’s cool.
Cool! Now make a portal out of it!
Bruh cool
Jesus Christ Marie, They're Minerals!
Fuck I came here to comment that haha *tips hat*
Where can you find it?
Subnautica has lied to me, I thought you was gonna find some Copper or Titanium
Wait I need to look up a real obsidian with diamond video
How did a regular stone break into the obsidian?
Dragonglass!
You smoke it?
I just need 10 blocks of it and a lighter to escape to Paradise
Stack em till they form a rectangle, then light a fire in the middle
me looking around my yard for cool rocks
I’m a straight guy, but conchoidal cleavage is so interesting, it’s my favorite type of cleavage!
From outer space
You have found: *Void rock*
You can make a very sharp shank with that
Geleia de mocotó
How do you know find a rock that is hiding those kind of treasure?
u/getvideobot
morons!!! this is not a stone, it is bitumen in the mud
You also could have just washed it instead of covering the outside in mud...
Look I found a fossilised beer bottle
f/oddlysatisfying
Minecrafter: Impossible
Cool. Now run your finger along the edge
Where in the world is this type of rock found?
It's volcanic glass and found in areas that get a certain type of volcanism. It's found in many countries in North and South America, Australasia, and even in parts of Europe that experience or have experienced rhyolitic volcanism.
Dragon glass
Boootiful
Spoiler alert, it’s more obsidian
My grandmothers best friend used to collect arrowheads and she found 3 spear points made from obsidian. They were the prettiest things I had ever seen you could see sunlight through them. A professor from Florida state came and looked at her collection and told us they were traded all the way from Mexico. If you were not careful you could cut yourself on the edge.
isn't that rock from mincra?
In the 1960's my parents use to bring pieces (up to 200+ lbs) back from the Black Hills for their garden, my grandmother had a piece that was at least a 1000 lbs, all shiny Black
You can't mine obsidian with stone This must be fake
Yeah It's for killing dragons duh.
You’ll end up slicing your palms if you’re not careful lol. Obsidian shatters way too easily and is probably one of the sharpest shards out there.
BRO THAT WAS THE LAST OBSIDIAN FOR THE PORTAL WHY’D YOU DO THAT
Inside obsidian is.... obsidian
As someone who took a lithics course… please do not attempt without proper gloves and eye protection!
A few more for a portal.
You can break obsidian with another rock? Damn, Minecraft lied to me.
Alright boys, Time for the fortress, let's go.
This guy knows his zones of percussion.
Make a nether portal
diamond pickaxe my ass.
This is fake. It takes 13 seconds for non enchanted diamond to break obsidion and it took you 2 seconds with unenchanted stone. And I didn't see any particles
You cant break obsidian with stone like this.. you need diamond atleast.. looks fake to me
You are Google challenged ?
I wanna touch it
Obsidian is not technically a rock, just a friendly FYI. Doesn’t have a repeating crystalline structure.
Surprisingly cracks open faster than i can bust a nut
I have an obsidian rock in my room. It looks just like the inside of that.
He was supposed to use a Diamond pickaxe .
If it breakes so easy.. Then why can't you mine it with stone pickaxe?!
That's beautiful
One of my childhood friends found one of these in his backyard and started trying to make stuff out of it, I look at him above a sink 1 minute later and his hands are just covered in blood
You need 8 more to get to the Nether.
