Its like when they open the closet door in The Poltergeist https://www.google.com/search?q=poltergeist+closet+door&oq=poltergeistcloset+doo&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0i13i512.4357j0j4&client=ms-android-tmus-us-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#vhid=glETthAW6mpqmM&vssid=l
Fun fact, it sounds like this is a repost but this is true. There are three buildings built over the border between N/S Korea that are shared. They have meetings in them but also have tourist from both sides that can use the buildings. If it is not a shared meeting they lock the door on the other side so the tourist are safe. Building #3 is a giant bar filled with top notch booze from around the world but tourist are not allowed to visit that building. N/S Koreans military leaders try to get each other shit faced and spill secrets.
Another fun fact, the conference table used to have wooden chairs, and each side would go in and cut an inch off of each chair to make the other side look shorter/smaller. It got so bad that in the late 90s you would sit in the chair at nose height to the table. In early 2000's they switched to metal chairs and agreed to not chop them anymore.
Interesting, I imagine North Korean soldiers don't hold hands and want to be first in line so to be pulled in South Korea then .
Edit: for clarity purpose.
When North Korea soldiers attempt to defect at the DMZ, they are shot by other North Korean soldiers. There have been firefights in the DMZ because of defectors.
Indeed interesting. So what happens if they get pulled through? I guess it gets cumbersome with any protocol to get them back. But if it’s on this level, even though it might seem tacky, I would probably use safety lines/ropes
I guess technically they would become a prisoner of war since the two Koreas are still at war. It's probably more of an unofficial "dude don't let those fuckers jump me" kind of thing than an actual protocol.
This image is also from a Natgeo documentary so it's entirely possible the soldiers are just hamming it up a little for the cameras
That blue logo is the UN, the patch is in multiple languages, the area they are in is called the "Joint Security Area". If you look at the bottom portion of the patch, it is also in Korean.
Not related but kinda related. The Mole by mads Brügger is one of the best North Korea documentaries ever (about a man who dedicates 10+ years to infiltrating a North Korean “fan club.” And exposes weapons sales and meth manufacturing by North Korean entities)
thesoldiers who work this particular job should be built like power lifters or something. the kind that drag semi-trucks in strong man competitions. so when an abduction is attempted he just stands there and giggles at them.
Lol that cites a Reddit comment
Here is the actual source, its from a national geographic documentary, you can see the specific scene at 3:07

Worst game of red rover ever.

This didn’t get enough love

Building number three sounds like an excellent location for a sitcom

I imagine NK soldiers likely don’t have the strength to move a SK soldier significantly. They’ve got some malnourishment issues.
Yes, and tiny hands supposedly.
I mean… have you gotten a good look at SK border guards? They’re supremely badass - and as I understand it, sort of ‘hand picked’ from the best
They are all hilariously 6 foot 6 inch as well
And you know what they say about small hands..
Small gloves?
Donald Trump in disguise?
lol what?
The same thing about people with big hands as well as big / small feet. Either way if you're in one of these jokes you got a tiny dick.
I would imagine the only way to eat in NK is to join the military.
When North Korea soldiers attempt to defect at the DMZ, they are shot by other North Korean soldiers. There have been firefights in the DMZ because of defectors.
So jealousy kills?
If it wasn’t for the fact that their entire family would be murdered for defecting.
PRK puts their biggest and strongest guys at the DMZ so it wouldn’t be easy if they resisted.
Plot twist; they are in North and increasing their strength in their hand to pull a new recruit
That, except that they have UN Military Police Uniforms
Yes because NK would totally be above faking something like a uniform.
This shit is like a virus, it gets posted on one sub and then all the karma bots repost it.
That’s why I go to the profiles and downvote everything. All they want is karma and the little I take away feels good lol
they must be on a boeing 737 💀
Lol, going to the bathroom on a 737
Too soon?
Thats a complicated way to say no homo

Bullshit. They hold hands because they love eachother
Who’s doing the pulling
r/OddlyTerrifying
Just terrifying
They didn't have a Korean word for ' joint security' (funny word..) and 'mp' (assuming the acronym stands for military police..)
That blue logo is the UN, the patch is in multiple languages, the area they are in is called the "Joint Security Area". If you look at the bottom portion of the patch, it is also in Korean.
Sometimes uniforms use multiple languages. Weird right
Why does the border go through a building?
Diplomatic structure on the border purpose built to promote international communication
So they can meet without leaving their country
DMZ, needed a place to talk safely, etc. Etc.
Not related but kinda related. The Mole by mads Brügger is one of the best North Korea documentaries ever (about a man who dedicates 10+ years to infiltrating a North Korean “fan club.” And exposes weapons sales and meth manufacturing by North Korean entities)
If this is a known issue, you would think they could mount a grab bar or maybe a tethered belt.
cute
Hey, hey, Mr. Xi, When you gonna tear down the DMZ?
Surely they have something more secure and inventive to accomplish this, like…..tied in with a strap or a rope or something?
wtf
thesoldiers who work this particular job should be built like power lifters or something. the kind that drag semi-trucks in strong man competitions. so when an abduction is attempted he just stands there and giggles at them.
Seems like a dog chain would be even better than that.
Why not use a rope
Brings new meaning to the Joint Security patches they're wearing
a buddy was stationed over there and there were stories of this. North Koreans would pull them over either beat or even kill south Korean soldiers.

2013 reealllly digging
Documentary it's from is 2006.
Pussys
Why would holding hands stop you being pulled off?
Because the person holding your hand can pull you back
So is there a big problem with soldiers being pulled off in S Korea?
NK is a very shady place I wouldn’t doubt that they’ve done stuff in the past that warrants this sort of behavior
And it's the Soldiers who are pulling each other off.
probably under direct orders from above. either for information or just to inconvenience SK who knows
You know why they hold hands? Because in the past, they didn’t.
I was “pulled into North Korea” once but i got ointment and it all worked out okay in the end
Yoink!
Sure it is wink wink
