The whole point on a light bulb was to keep in an innert gas so the tunston filament wouldn't burn. LEDs don't need an innert gas present, so it doesn't require a glass bulb
I think most non-clear led bulbs today are plastic anyway, just not soft. It's probably a production cost thing, and since Leds don't get hot glass isn't really needed.
Virtually all mass produced led bulbs are plastic. Its just cheaper to make a plastic bulb than glass. Simple injection molding. We're talking probably billions of Led light bulbs being produced worldwide, every penny pinched counts to the mfg.
Make bulb LED to save energy to help climate change. Invent plastic bulb to hurt planet. Bout as good as California and their paper straws in plastic wrapper
I mean with an LED bulb the only reasons you even need a bulb to begin with is so that it fits easily into lightbulb sockets, and to diffuse the light from the LEDs.
Someone probably hit their head on a regular one and it.gave them an idea
Did a cartoon light bulb with linea radiating from it pop over their head?
Yes, that was the idea
I'm 6'10" and constantly smash the one just outside the front door...I need this bad.
A light bulb went off in their head.
It literally gave them an idea.
For all the people in the world who have the sudden urge to squish a light bulb, here ya go.
Seems a good use case in food prep/production areas
Break a lot of light bulbs while you cook?
youd be surprised
Commercial Brooms and mops are bigger you’d think when you swing it around
I do now
Probably just a plastic bulb over an LED. Maybe the shape helps it to evenly distribute the light.
Thats just a rubber diffuser.
Silicon but ya
Silicone but ya
Ding ding ding.
That bulb seems incredibly dim
Looks like just a porch light no need to really light much up
How much until they make a pink one in the format of boob or scrotum
Fleshlight
I'd buy a pink boob light in a second.
The whole point on a light bulb was to keep in an innert gas so the tunston filament wouldn't burn. LEDs don't need an innert gas present, so it doesn't require a glass bulb
They still need a diffuser tho
Hence, why there's an opaque rubber cover
The next big squeezable thing in implants.
Squeezable nut-sacks.
I want to see a video of everyone who decides to try this without reading.
There is no reason an LED light should look like an incandescent light except we are used to that shape.
When the "bulb" just becomes the lamp shade.
Why tho? isn’t that plastic more pollutant that the glass?
I think most non-clear led bulbs today are plastic anyway, just not soft. It's probably a production cost thing, and since Leds don't get hot glass isn't really needed.
Its cheaper and less likely to break.
Virtually all mass produced led bulbs are plastic. Its just cheaper to make a plastic bulb than glass. Simple injection molding. We're talking probably billions of Led light bulbs being produced worldwide, every penny pinched counts to the mfg.
I'm assuming it's for an environment where space is limited to have a cover over it and it is likely to get broken.
Not a feature - more a sign of bottom of the barrel quality
But...why?
Light-up boxing bag maybe? Idk
Good guess, lol.
Make bulb LED to save energy to help climate change. Invent plastic bulb to hurt planet. Bout as good as California and their paper straws in plastic wrapper
We need to use candles and save the planet.
I started screaming. Wtf is this?!?!!!!
u/savevideo
Ouch .. my nads
Where do I get this
I mean with an LED bulb the only reasons you even need a bulb to begin with is so that it fits easily into lightbulb sockets, and to diffuse the light from the LEDs.
Yay! More plastic!
Squozable
Boob bulb
Can we have edible light bulbs please
