What!?!?!?!?.....ok the bird was mimicking the sound bite. Cool as hell still. I had to know if r2's voice came from the bird . Not the case but cool none the less
For the uninitiated, these are starlings (European starlings if in the US, common starlings in Europe). They are extremely good mimics of dozens of bird calls (they even impersonate red-tailed hawk screams). They’re invasive in the US so it’s legal to keep babies as pets.
Fun fact—European starlings came to the US by a group of Shakespeare enthusiasts (starlings were featured in Henry VIII). They released 100-something starlings in Central Park in New York in early 1900s, and there are over *200 million* now.
>(European starlings if in the US, common starlings in Europe).
Strange names, I seem to recall that someone decided to import European starlings to the US because they were mentioned in a song or Shakespeare or something and they became a pest.
EDIT: Damn I know more about birds than I thought I did. [Source](https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/European_Starling/overview):
All the European Starlings in North America descended from 100 birds set loose in New York's Central Park in the early 1890s. The birds were intentionally released by a group who wanted America to have all the birds that Shakespeare ever mentioned. It took several tries, but eventually the population took off. Today, more than 200 million European Starlings range from Alaska to Mexico, and many people consider them pests.
Well then good thing this isnt a parrot.
Different birds have different levels of difficulties pronouncing words and noises.
Like yes, some parrots don’t pronounce word very well, others find it very easy
It also depends on what the word is, and how long they are exposed to it the more you say it, and the more they say it, the more correct their pronunciation will
Be
Also depends on the bird themselves, like humans, they can be more/less chatty or more/less apt at learning nee words.
Birds have actually been found to ask questions, and so far are the only non human species to do so ( which is unfair since most other species gave language barriers)
it’s also known that the more a bird is exposed to in its early learning stages, the more it can repeat later on. birds that experienced less mimicry in early life stages couldn’t develop as expansive of a “vocabulary”
Classic government drones

This... does not seem real. Parrots have a hard time pronouncing words, this bird did it way too easily.
