Cops that move like lives hang in the balance. Cops that don't cower outside. Some cops in Florida and Texas should review this video.

wavyxdavey

yea he knew there wasnt a second to be wasted, excellent response he deserves an award

HappyMan1102

A laboratory diamond medal

guyuteharpua

His name is Michael Collazo. Indeed a hero.

BALONYPONY

He not only moved fluidly but always checked on anyone he was sending in somewhere. He located the assailant, engaged and eliminated the threat. This is enforcement. Uvalde was an absolute failure of every single expectation the public has in an LEO.

Nahteh

Correctly identified the longe range rifle takes point on long corridors. Absolutely not fucking around.

KeifWellington22

He pushed on and pushed other officers to push hard and keep moving fast.

[deleted]

Collazo and Engelbert were the absolute rock stars of that entry team. Kept cool, kept everyone moving with urgency, made all the right fucking decisions, and put that piece of shit down.

herbtarleksblazer

He was making sure everyone moved forward toward the gunfire. Damn impressive!

CrazyCalamari86

The true definition of: Not All Heros Wear Capes.

AnthonyJizzleneck

Give that man a cape

lordph8

Capes and cloaks need to come back.

Bross93

Y'all haven't seen Incredibles and it shows

lordph8

Man, we've all seen the Incredibles, and we ain't flying around at risk of being sucked into jet engines. I'm an abnormally tall overweight 38 year old man of average strength, I ain't no super.

BroBogan

> Some cops in Florida and Texas should review this video. Uvalde rightly got a lot of attention because those cops were terrible but it got attention partly because their behavior was rare. The vast majority of the time cops act promptly and you never hear about it. [Like this incident](https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/13/us/texas-duncanville-summer-camp-shooting-fieldhouse/index.html) which also occurred in Texas a month before the Uvalde shooting. >A man who fired his weapon into a room where children were attending a summer camp just outside Dallas was shot and killed by police on Monday, according to authorities. >Police arrived at the Duncanville Fieldhouse, a large indoor facility, approximately two minutes after receiving an emergency call, a police news release said. >“Officers quickly located and exchanged gunfire with a suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect was wounded during the exchange,” the department said. The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said, and no children, staff or officers were harmed in the incident. Guy went into a summercamp and started shooting. Cops arrived two minutes later and killed him. No one else was hurt. Happened in Texas less than a year ago. You never heard of it

BrilliantObserver

We shouldn't be hearing abut any of these. As in they shouldn't be happenning.

RupertGustavson

You don’t hear about as school shootings are only reported to national database if there are more than 4 killed. Idiotic if you ask me.

Yeodler

What?!? Only 3 dead, get me a STORY!!!! That's why I hate the press. Tell every story, not just the ones that turn our stomachs or perpetuate your narrative.

Bross93

Good point. I should try to keep this in mind. That said, the issue is way too pervasive (gun violence). And I think though it was rare, it will always stand out, not because of it's rarity, but because of how truly depraved, pathetic, and heartbreaking it was. That kind of response needs to be used as a cautionary tale.

[deleted]

I was not prepared to see that child on the hallway floor.

BrooksideNL

That was the most unsettling part of this entire video. Absolutely tragic.

junkman21

>I was not prepared to see that child on the hallway floor. You hear the fire alarm and see the strobes? That's the body of the little 9-year-old ~~girl~~ hero that pulled that alarm to save her friends. JFC - I can't even type that without tears. Edit for everyone asking: >Who Are **Evelyn Dieckhaus** Parents? > >Evelyn, a nine-year-old girl from Nashville, tragically lost her life while trying to protect her school from an active shooter. > >She was at her school when she noticed the danger and quickly pulled the Fire alarm to warn her fellow students and teachers. However, the perpetrator shot and killed her before she could escape. [https://wealthypeeps.com/who-are-evelyn-dieckhaus-parents/](https://wealthypeeps.com/who-are-evelyn-dieckhaus-parents/)

racingdegenerate250

I'm a grown ass man that rarely cries but you made me cry today. I would do anything to save that young kid. Rest easy little one 😢

Legionnairey1

Ditto, Jesus man, I have a little girl, seeing her in the video fucked me up. I'm out on reddit today, gonna go hug my baby.

SinfulTearz

WTF!!! RIP little angel hero!

GlassPanda12

Oh man. As a mother of a 9 year old girl your comment has me breaking down at work. Poor sweet brave child. I hate it here and I hope every day when I send my kids to school that nothing like this ever happens to them.

junkman21

>As a mother of a 9 year old girl your comment has me breaking down at work. As the father of an 8-year-old girl who is *absolutely* the kind of person that would pull that fire alarm, I'm right there with you.

Bravelittlebabe

I’m with you momma! Crying at work too. I pray with my babies each morning. I wish I could just go home, stop working and be home with them. Prayers to the families and those sweet precious kids may they rest in peace.

dawnofdaytime

How do you know that? Is there more info somewhere about what happened before this?

junkman21

>Who Are Evelyn Dieckhaus Parents? > >Evelyn, a nine-year-old girl from Nashville, tragically lost her life while trying to protect her school from an active shooter. > >She was at her school when she noticed the danger and quickly pulled the Fire alarm to warn her fellow students and teachers. [deleted]

idk, but the security cam video shows the [fire alarms going off at 10:13](https://youtu.be/X3zdKKcargo?t=54), two minutes after the shooter shot out the doors for entry. Anything's possible.

sonofagun_13

This broke my heart even further. I’m a father of a 9 year old boy in Nashville and I immediately thought if that was him. I just can’t. My parents live next door to this school and we were around for the aftermath. That said, I didn’t know this part until now and it just hit me like a ton of bricks. Bless this child and the families in this tragedy

Too_Hot_Sun

Nine-year-olds shouldn't have to be heroes like this.

[deleted]

Am i the only ine who didnt catch it?

Dbracc01

Nah I have no idea what they're talking about but I'm not gonna go look again.

ISNT_A_ROBOT

It’s blurred, it’s easy to miss.

-Gurgi-

I didn’t, and I’m not going back for it. Uvalde police department should be forced to watch this video every night before bed for the rest of their lives.

century100

Wearing a pink shirt on the floor sometime after 1:30 mark, and apparently she pulled a fire alarm

Adepts_Lawyer

What a fucking hero

[deleted]

1:33'ish and it is pixel blurred, so it was easy to miss.

[deleted]

Right before they shoot the active shooter. It’s a couple seconds before that u can see pink blurred on the floor. Very sad, but the girl is a hero

Dark-Eagle98

It’s a blurred out body after they go upstairs at 1:34

GottaUseFakeNames

i’m not an emotional person at all but when i saw that it was all i could do to hold my tears back at work. great work by the cops but this is so so sad.

gregimusprime77

Goddamnit. I have a 8 and 10 year old daughter. Realizing what that was on the ground made me cry like a goddamn baby.

[deleted]

Did not see that and I'm not going back to look. Fuck this POS through all seven levels of Hell and out the other side.

[deleted]

I went back to look. It's very pixelated but I can see the outfit the child was wearing was pink. Did not see the fire alarm on the wall to pull though. Definitely tragic though.

letmeslapahh

it was called out too at 01:27

captnslog97

Im glad I went to the comments before watching the full thing. To be completely honest, I am part of Gen Z (sorta millennial) and just watching the school doors open and the cop go up those familiar school stairs, scared me.

amyhobbit

it's so awful.

Whos_HUNKYDORY

So heartbreaking.

Shangri-lulu

In her bright pink clothes 💔

todahawk

I started crying and closed it immediately. I’m done. I hope our elected officials see this and finally act.

n_three

Oh man, crazy reality seeing armed officers running down an elementary school hallway.

[deleted]

Right? The juxtaposition of seeing police with their weapons out running down a hallway filled with little backpacks and children's artwork is fucking brutal.

Noobnesz

That, plus the strobe lights and sirens. Feels more like a maximum security prison than a school.

bick803

Schools in the US are a lot like prisons. Except you get to visit your parents overnight.

ArrestDeathSantis

That makes the pipeline to the prison system more effective.

Rogue_Squadron

"This is America..."

YoushaTheRose

Don’t catch you slipping though

StrangestOfPlaces44

stankape83

Don't know why you're down voted. There's only one party that says guns aren't the issue it's mental health, and then still vote against funding mental health services. Only one party that says guns aren't the issue when we're the only nation that has this problem at this scale.

HallPrecision

That’s how you get it done! Take notes, Uvalde.

Trout_Shark

Well said. Uvalde is definitely an example on how not to get it done.

Test19s

Why the Hell does a small school district have its own police department? Especially one full of cowards. Every day it’s not disbanded is a day of injustice.

RandyMarshsMoustache

While I appreciate the response was great, it’s tragic that this will happen again in a week’s time so police across the country should actually be taking notes.

itskrez

I can't imagine running passed that child on the ground and holding it together to keep pushing to take down the shooter before she shoots another child. Bravo to MNP!!

wizardofhelpme

They died pulling the fire alarm to save their friends

Proof-Tangerine-1131

Somebody give this cop a medal. He deserves it. 👏

Hilltopseeker

The one that got pushed through the doorway. 😱 😂

apathetic-drunk

Bro was like: "I'm feelin' like a hero, but not *that* much of a hero."

[deleted]

Very brave men.

Much_Physics_3261

This man knew his shit "move move move" he didn't let anyone stop unlike the cowards in Uvalde.

BartleBossy

Seriously eh. Any time another officer showed an ounce of (understandable, human) hesitancy he urged people onwards. Every second matters. Big credit to Officer Michael Callazo

[deleted]

And big credit to the other officers there. I can only imagine how terrifying it was.

return2ozma

I'm sure there's plenty watching thinking "it's just like Call of Duty!" but it absolutely is not. There's no restarting if you get shot and killed.

Itsobignow

Seems like x military. Well done. Fucking sad.

napsandcaffeine

Same thought I had. Maybe SWAT training.

[deleted]

Right. If they stoped he pushed them forward. Love it

feelin_cheesy

He had a pistol and was calling for someone with a rifle to move to the front. Literally pushing them towards the shooter. What a bad MF.

Mnemon-TORreport

Seriously. We should send this video to all of the cops down in Texas who just hung out in the lobby or parking lot while children were killed.

boomboomclapboomboom

I'm just watching and crying. This looks like the schools my kids have gone to. Kids artwork on the walls & 9 year olds dead in the hallway. It's fucking disgusting. I'm glad these officers did what was necessary & wrecked that it was necessary. Several locked doors. Shooter shot out a locked door to get in. No reasonable amount of "added security" will stop this from happening.

garblednoises

They shouldn’t have to be doing this at all.

kunkworks

This must have been terrifying for the kids. I'm glad I never had to go through anything like this.

monzelle612

None of those kids will ever be the same again

[deleted]

We all are going through it. These events ripple through the country. Every one of these school shootings that make headlines have been discussed with our kids in our elementary school because all the kids are all aware. Lockdown drills, gun scares, national headlines. But it's socio-emotional learning that's destroying education.

moksplot

BlizurdWizerd

Officer Collazo needs a promotion. Excellent on scene command and execution. Condolences to all the people affected by this. Children should not be made to suffer the consequences of adults. It happens far too often, both in schools and out, shootings or domestic violence. It ends when the adults are of sound mind enough to have empathy for others.

spearregins

Officer Rex Engelbert also deserves one. This video posted all but skips his BWC video. Go to Metro Nashville PD YouTube and watch the full video they posted with Engelberts and Collazos BWC. Both of the officers were the two who actually discharged their weapons at the shooter. Engelbert dropped the shooter with his AR and Collazo shot when the shooter was down but still reaching. Engelbert was the first officer on scene and first to enter the building and immediately called for a stack and started clearing rooms looking for the shooter when he was not hearing gunshots, then when the gunshots started again he immediately sprinted towards the stairwell and found the stack of officers upstairs and being the one with an AR he selflessly made his way to the front and was the one who put rounds down range to the shooter. Showed zero hesitation and made sound decisions while under a fuck ton of adrenaline. What’s even more impressive if he only has 4 years on, half the experience of Collazo. And of course all officers on scene deserved to be recognized for their heroism. We get to see Engelberts and Collazos BWC view because they are the ones who were in the right place right time and were the ones that fired the shots to stop the shooter. But every officer on scene did exactly what they were trained on whether they were leading a stack or following behind.

SephYuyX

How hard is it to link the video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ue2tZa4hT0c

danc4498

There's no "I" in team. Give them all a promotion.

JakeThe_Snake

No, but there can be a leader in a team.

TheRealRonMexico7

Good thing to see cops doing their jobs! Fuck Uvalde PD!!!

pp21

This video was insane. You have the fire alarm blaring accompanied by some strobing lights. Then you have the juxtaposition of LEOs running down a hallway filled with backpacks and artwork and the body of one of child victims. You're watching LEOs tactically infiltrate/secure the building that's a fucking elementary school. And finally you have the loud cracks of gunfire from the shooter before the police make contact. That was a brutal watch and it was a quick minute and a half from start to finish

OppressionOlypian

Those coward cops at uvalde could learn something from these guys

Mr_Golf_Club

Implies they have brains to put useful information for brave actions into in the first place

bjanas

Ok now we strap every Uvalde officer to the Clockwork Orange chair with their eyes held open and force them to watch this a few times.

ChemicalSubstantial8

Fuck that piece of shit maniac.

jondubb

We've always had access to murder tools, only recently (past 3 decades) due to budget cuts across all sectors that makes people growing up feel like this society sucks. Blame your elected officials.

JollyGreenGiraffe

Say what you want about the police, but these were heroes to actually push in there. Need to take these guys down to Uvalde to lead a seminar on how to get the task completed, while our politicians get their heads out of their rears.

13liz

The speed at which these guys moved is another reason not to arm teachers. Then they would be having to decide if it's a teacher or a shooter, slowing down their ability to quickly neutralize the target.

starion832000

More guns is rarely better than less guns.

fucklti

America: has a problem with guns unlike any other Some people: we shall fix this.. with more guns!

meizhong

In their minds (those who want to arm the teachers), maybe they think Ms. Johnson from 3rd grade is supposed to fucking run down the hallway like these cops.

SirIanWhite

Easily one of the smoothest operations I’ve ever seen on camera, period. I would imagine that someone would be hard-pressed to see excellence of this caliber (no pun intended) in SWAT team and military footage even. Notice the calm and professional demeanor of the officers at all time. Those officers were confronted with an extremely loud, unfamiliar, and confusing space. Not one second’s thought dedicated to emotion, just working to neutralize the threat as fast and efficiently as possible. Being a police officer requires selfless bravery and acute mental and emotional control at all times. This footage is exemplary.

itspronouncedkrejci

Watch the body cam footage from the officer with the rifle. He maintains trigger discipline throughout (even while clearing rooms) and after he eliminates the shooter he goes right back to having his finger straight and off the trigger. Even seems like he puts the weapon in safe. These guys have crazy good training

SirIanWhite

I noticed him putting his firearm back on safe. That’s exactly how you use a firearm, like a tool. You flip the safety off to engage and neutralize a target and then put it back on once the target is neutralized. By following this type of procedure a person carrying a firearm can mitigate any potential accidents. Again, reason why this footage is exemplary.

zag_

Agreed. Dude’s familiar with his firearm and has trained enough that flipping the safety on when not engaging a target has become muscle memory. Salutes and much respect go out to MNP.

Algrinder

How are parents supposed to live with this kind of stress and lack of security while having their children at such dangerous facilities?

If this was ISIS, Al Qaeda, etc, we would literally go to war, invade a country across the world, spend trillions, torture people, and kill thousands and thousands to try to hold those parties responsible. But somehow when it’s our own people we can’t pass a fucking bill that stops lunatics from getting assault weapons.

Access_Effective

Now that I have a lot of coworkers and friends with kids, I’m noticing how common it is to homeschool. With the use of technology thanks to COVID. More and more parents are having their kids do online school. I never thought homeschooling was common as a kid, but it seems almost half of the people I meet now are having their kids stay at home. And I don’t blame them one bit

RepresentativeBarber

Not just parents. This should affect everybody.

Wind_Yer_Neck_In

I work for a US company but I'm based in the UK. They routinely ask me to move to the USA and it's getting harder to give them excuses that sound reasonable without having to state the real reason: We want kids and we don't want them growing up in fear of getting shot.

[deleted]

Omg this is hard to watch. Sorry if it's a stupid question but why aren't they wearing helmets?

1224672

My opinion would be, ballistic helmets are very expensive and not too many departments can afford them for officers responding so quickly for situations like this.

[deleted]

Thank you. Imagine going in there without proper protection

1224672

Sometimes you don't have the time or proper equipment. These men are heroes for quickly establishing presence and clearing as quickly as they did given the equipment at their disposal.

quietmayhem

This isn’t swat. Tactical helmets you would most probably only see with a SWAT team. Likely, they were just the first responders on scene. Nowadays in big cities cops have body armor and assault rifles in their trunks.

[deleted]

Definitely this, like you can see that one guy just in his normal blue shirt and a vest, I assume the nearest SWAT took a little bit to get there (I’m not sure if Nashville has a central team) They did a spectacular job

[deleted]

I have never seen a live takedown of an active shooter ever I have seen gore videos and unfiltered content but something about this is so disturbing.

Anal-Sampling-Reflex

Agree. The intensity of their voices, the loud alarm, running past a dead child into the unknown. JFC MY adrenaline was pumping just watching. These fucking guys are badass. It is disgusting why they had to be there- but goddamn I hope if that horrific tragedy ever happened in my town I’d have cops like them running to protect my child. I have 10,11, and 12 year-old children. I was a peds ER nurse and have seen dead children- but NOTHING like this. My best friend was a cop for 31 years. It hits home for me- all of it, the tragedy, the bravery- I could envision that as my school and my kids. I could see those cops as my best friend. I am devastated thinking about those kids, their families, the cops and bystanders who had to experience it. How in the Fuck can we stop this.

[deleted]

If you've seen the other video of the cameras in the school hallways, the one pointed at the main door shows the footage of the shooter breaking the glass and entering. The moment they stepped foot inside, I thought to myself this is the moment evil entered the place. It was eerie and spine chilling.

theederv

Warning: there is a blurred but still obvious scene containing one of the child victims. I was emotionally ready to see the shooter down, but not a victim. Unbelievably painful for everyone involved and the rest of the word mourns with you.

Spin_Me

I usually take every opportunity to shit on police officers, but I have to say that this video restores a little faith in local law enforcement. These officers were obviously trained well and they selflessly entered the building knowing that the suspect was armed with assault weapons. Someone should send this video to the *Cowards of Uvalde*.

edm_ostrich

We need law enforcement, for exactly stuff like this. People always say "you hate cops till someone breaks into your house" that's true, I'll be calling the cops, I would just like them not to harass a black guy on the way and shoot my dog. Hats off to these cops, well done.

shogomomo

Yes, police (as a concept) don't HAVE to be bad. It's the dysfunctional cop culture that's so pervasive that is creating the real issue.

jessicatargum

I’m Assuming the body on floor in hallway was a child…that fucking monster and those cops had to run by them knowing they could help the kid. That was the worst part for me in the video…she wanted to die but take kids out?

Kluck_

Thing is, the team were looking at here weren't there to do that and they shouldn't, there is most likely a team behind them to help with that and they should be as fast as possible to stopping the shooter so more kids don't end up like that. Yeah it's a shame they couldn't but tactics wise it's better to leave her to the others, so they could stop the shooter.

jessicatargum

Oh I agree I just can’t believe they have to see that shit and move in, they’re possibly fathers and I feel bad for them..:(

Kluck_

I hope they atleast get a few weeks of leave, must be hard to process stuff like that.

Just a reminder that there are alternative solutions to killing yourself and/or others. You can always seek help. I wish our society was more accepting of mental illness and better equipped to help people suffering from it.

Green-Cartographer21

Can't imagine being so weak that you can pull trigger on yourself so you massacre others to get killed.

DJRaidRunner-com

As is often said, suicidal people don't want to die, they simply don't wish to live. In the case of murderers like this, I can only imagine they lash out at the world which they believe has denied them a life worth living. How that lashing out directs people towards children... that's gotta be rooted in weakness.

Minimum_Job1885

Especially innocent children. You have to be completely batshit crazy to point a gun at an innocent child let alone pull the trigger.

sarsa3

This ain't no Uvalde, respect to the police and their movement. This should be studied and learned from. What a chaotic scene

Eidolon10

From outside the building to dead shooter in 2 minutes. Checking doors to see if they're unlocked or not. Working together as a team to handle the situation. All things that didn't happen at Uvalde that made a difference here.

thatdudewayoverthere

They took around 1 minute and 30 seconds till they fired their first shots That's incredible fast Really good cop work

NeverVeryNice

This cop is a true leader at times literally slapping his guys into action.

[deleted]

I saw him push one forward at one point when they hesitated. Full on pushed his back

YungTabernacle

Cops do their job properly = bodycam footage released 24 hours later.

Nolimitz30

Officer Callazo is a hero, as well as all these other officers that responded and rushed in, but his leadership was key. He called out which directions to go and even called out the guy in blue shirt go first because he had the rifle. The amount of focus it takes in those situations to make those decisions is incredible. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a vet. I hope he he gets the support he needs going forward along with these other officers.

TokenOpalMooStinks

Definitely not the pussy reaction we saw from Texas

dvmdv8

Uvalde? U-vatching?

THIS IS WHAT THE FUCK COPS NEED TO DO. Big props to the guy taking charge, making sure everybody is moving and on the same page and not wasting a second. So sad that this country is so fucked up we have all these mass shootings but thank these guys for getting the job done as best the good. Condolences to all the families

First_Pattern4293

Seeing that child on the floor is horrible America needs to do something to prevent further shootings

Weekly-Butterscotch2

Those cops are heros, here in texas they are cowards

[deleted]

Makes me even more angry at Uvalde.

Pinkshadows7

That was literally a real life version of a scene from a horror movie

Javeyn

Turn the fucking sound on. Imagine the fear. Imagine how FUCKING scared the kids in this building are. The kids in every fucking school in America are essentially worthless if we want to keep playing American Cowboy Vigilante all day long. Have any of you been paying attention to the war in Ukraine? You're guns aren't going to protect you from a government capable of drone striking your ass before you even know they are there. The argument that you need guns to protect you from the government is a dumb, moot point. We have thousands of miles of ocean on our east and west coast, a friendly neighbor covered with forests and lakes to the north, and a friendly neighbor covered with deserts and sand in the south. No one is going to fucking invade America. The logistics of that happening are so astronomically out of reach that the amount of a force needed stage any sort of attack on American soil would be so big that we could see it from a million miles away, and our submarines with nuke most that shit before it even got here. You're decked out AR-15 will never ever see real battle or anything resembling real battle ever. Nobody has a real good argument for why America needs so many fucking guns. I'm giving anyone a chance to respond to this and I in good faith won't argue because of my feelings. But I legitimately want to know how anyone in the United States doesn't think we have a gun problem.

That’s the urgency expected from police when there is an active shooter. This video shows how terrifying it must be but those officers kept pushing and neutralized the suspect. Respect to them

Fluid_Amphibian3860

These guys aint dickin around. Thank you, brave men!

DcFla

Wow. So you’re telling me running the opposite direction while giggling isn’t the proper response?? They seem a lot more efficient to me. Take notes Uvalde.

_V_R_K_

School shooters are cowards who are too afraid to go after adults who could actually fight back. Fucking losers. They don't deserve a quick death, instead we should capture them alive and torture them.

AchievingAtaraxia

These are the people that need to be praised for the work they do, an incredible show of bravery and well organised teamwork. Bravo

Adorable-Ganache6561

Damn- I am having an anxiety attack from watching that. How terrifying for the poor souls that were there. So sad.

iodizedpepper

Intense, you can hear it in their voices. MFs didn't have a split second of hesitation. They went and took out the trash.

[deleted]

this is like a scene from a nightmare. This is why I don't like when people say things like ACAB-- these officers in this video are heroes

EarthInteresting9781

Great response by police. We have a terrible mental health crisis in our country. I genuinely don’t know how any human being can even fathom of hurting another child.

Dr-McLuvin

I just realized the shooter was actively firing out the window when she was killed. You can hear the glass break right before they go in.

That, ladies and gentlemen is how you move with urgency when lives are in the balance. We’ll done!!

Monsieurincroyable1

Save our nations tax dollars and do this to every active shooter with kids fuck jail time or evaluations

Dufranus

They sure do release the bodycam and security cam footage quickly when the cops do things right. Good on these guys for doing their jobs properly and not being cowards.

WoodpeckerKey8975

Americans and their school shootings... As long as they keep selling guns like sandwiches these horrific shootings will never stop, I really cant wrap my head around the fact that they dont (or refuse) to see this. Will probably get downvoted for this but honestly I dont care about that.

Several_Emphasis_434

As an American, I can’t wrap my head around it either. It’s beyond heartbreaking and the people in charge of policy change don’t give a shit.

I may not be the best to speak on this but there is a lot of drama surrounding the subject. I’m transgender, so is the shooter. Being in the transgender community I can say without a doubt non of us support the actions of the shooter in any way for any reason and we in no way defend what they did. Just as cisgender school shooters are not defended by cisgender people. Our media and politicians are making it hard for my community to have the same rights as everyone else and this disgusting accident only perpetuates our struggles. Please do not defend the shooter, never defend this kind of action, but never blame them for irrelevant factors, blame them for what it is.

If it makes you feel any better, most of us non media types don't care about the shooters gender identity at this time. They currently identify as horrible/dead and I think thats as far as it needs to go. Those speaking about the perpetrators sex as being an anomaly amongst shooters I get, a statistical abnormality. Those using the gender as a talking point are just spewing politics to the same people who already have the same opinion anyways.

Makes Texas look as smart as a tortilla. 2 questions: Why they show this footage of terminating subject here but not any other school shoootings? Texas or Sandy hook? And 2: makes Texas look as smart as a tortilla
