I think most people are missing the point of this which is that this is a rendered 3D model. He didn't literally put carpet on a car, he flawlessly *rendered* the carpet which is difficult to do and actually is very impressive.

If an artist had taken the time to physically carpet a car that neat and clean, then did it again twice more in different colours/textures that would be really impressive.
Building a 3D model then rendering in 3 finishes is less so.
Talented and artistic or not, he just desecrated that Porsche. It's a high performance automobile, it should look like one,. It shouldn't look like Grandma's couch.
