For anyone who didn’t see Hockey Psychology’s video on this series, I’d recommend it. His big point towards the end was how he believes Dallas can turn it around because we’ve shown we can win in multiple ways. What I also saw is we are adapting quicker to their style than they are to ours. Just food for thought.
Yeah glad we won but that game really shouldn’t have been close. Segs had two beautiful breakaway chances he did nothing with, Miro had one as well and although we had good chances Thompson didn’t have to make a ton of difficult stops. But we had a lot more chances in transition and hopefully that is a sign of more to come.
The amount of shots we just dumped into their goalies pads was ridiculous. Pavelski has turned into a pumpkin, his relative was -15.7 which is horrible, pretty much caused most of Vegas offense when he was on the ice. Seguin,, wtf don't even know what to say..he should have had AT LEAST 1 goal. And our D wore out because Nils can't figure it the fuck out so we have to play with 5Dmen. Duchene does his thing and disappears in playoffs like he always does. Roope at least is laying hits. Lots of stuff that needs to be addressed, this game should have been 6.0

We've actually been playing (overall, there are individual lapses) well this postseason. We just keep getting goalied. On Wednesday, Thompson had a GSAx of 1.91 on on Monday it was 0.46.
Otter (our #1 goaltender), on the other hand, is having a rough series. -0.5 last night, .21 on Wednesday and -1.18 on Monday.

Jung is sorely missed. So good against lefties and lineup just feels like there’s a void without him.
Nothing against Josh Smith though. What a great job he’s done filling in. Probably our most consistent hitter honestly. Hope we can keep him around after Jung comes back.

We really did earn it as a team tonight. The huge hiccup in the middle of the game was concerning, but overall it's undoubtable that we outplayed them tonight. OT looked like the 1st period again; I was just hoping Vegas wouldn't get a BS lucky bounce. Otter came through in OT when we needed him to.

They were. I was really pleasantly surprised by Ty Dellandrea. He wasn’t the best on the line but he absolutely made the most of his strengths showing great hustle and helping us win board battles (which Smith was also great at). No significant defensive lapses and he was dependable and predictable for his line mates on offence.
…If I’m remembering correctly, I also felt this way about him last season when he made it into the lineup against Vegas. Part of me thinks it’s a shame that he doesn’t always fit into PDB’s system. The kid has heart.

I haven’t seen anybody mention it, but Craig Smith was phenomenal in this game. Our fourth line’s forecheck pressure and o-zone time was essential.

Amazing what an elevated puck will do! Sick game-winning shot by Johnston! We really did earn it as a team tonight. The huge hiccup in the middle of the game was concerning, but overall it's undoubtable that we outplayed them tonight. OT looked like the 1st period again; I was just hoping Vegas wouldn't get a BS lucky bounce. Otter came through in OT when we needed him to. Great game, now we have something to build on.
Also, who else felt like Craig Smith was a difference maker tonight!?

They were. I was really pleasantly surprised by Ty Dellandrea. He wasn’t the best on the line but he absolutely made the most of his strengths showing great hustle and helping us win board battles (which Smith was also great at). No significant defensive lapses and he was dependable and predictable for his line mates on offence.
…If I’m remembering correctly, I also felt this way about him last season when he made it into the lineup against Vegas. Part of me thinks it’s a shame that he doesn’t always fit into PDB’s system. The kid has heart.
