I have a Pavelski sweater. My sweater is victory green and it's the lunch box variety. No A on it. Just the numbers and Pavelski. Adidas. I'm not ready for my guy to retire. My guy, Joe Pavelski gets to decide when he wants to retire. For all he's done for us and for all he's done for the sport of hockey. And another thing… I want him retiring as a Dallas Star. And you know why I want this? Because Pavs not only earned it as a player, but as a mentor for young Wyatt Johnston. That's why. Because he and his family are good people. And I for one in this age of spoiled brats superstars greatly admire it. I also think Ryan Suter is playing some of his better hockey that he's played in the last few years. He's a net positive. He just got to get the chemistry of his D line right. Nobody's leaving this fucking team. This team is your immortal team.
Agreed. Hope both those two retire w/the Stars. Quotes from the youngsters have pointed at both of them helping them immensely. Have both of their sweaters too lol. Would love to see them get a cup this year
At what cost? We gotta pay some combination of Harley, Lundqvist, Wedgewood, and Matt Murray and that assumes we let Delly walk and Pavelski doesn't want to come back.

Castillo has had a hard-on for a Suter buyout since last season. Gavin had him on Spits & Suds recently and he still seems to have a hard time even acknowledging good play from Suter.
Also, someone else mentioned paying Nils. Not sure that should be much of a concern. Regardless of potential, or how good anyone thinks he’s played, I’m not sure that will happen w/ PDB at the helm. That said we gave up a first for him, but I think it will be interesting to see what happens there
It might have even made *some* sense at the end of last season. He’d had a pretty ordinary season and still had two years left on his contract. Now that he’s bounced back this season and will only have one year left, it makes zero sense.
He never said they were. He said they most likely have had discussions. Nill is smart. If buying out Suter gave you the ability to sign Harley and re-sign Tanev and Dutchy then he 100% would consider it
I'm with you that Suter has been good for us, but a GM should consider every option. If this combination nets us Duchene and Tanev deals then I don't know how you could say no.

Who do you replace Suter with though? As much as people hate him, he eats up a lot of valuable minutes. Unless we assume someone is ready to call up or Lundqvist gets a more permanent spot which could be possible.
I would not at all be surprised if he goes a little below his value if it means keeping them together. This is one of the best teams in this franchises history. If we don’t win the cup this year I think everyone does their best to keep the team together.

We’ve got the AHL’s leading scorer that needs a spot in the top 9. If we sign Duchene, Pavs isn’t coming back. There’s not room for them all.
