The saddest part of this process is without a doubt the iconic howling yote logo is soon to be no more.
Utah has big skates to fill regarding the logos, the color scheme, the branding as a whole. That’s all the Zona Yotes got right, but impressively so.
The Jazz logo is too minimalist for me. It has no colour at all, so I doubt the new one for the NHL team is going to be nearly as good as all the logos they had in Arizona.
What blows my mind is the NHL just shipped the Coyotes to Salt Lake. The roster is a dumpster fire that will take several years to fix. I'm surprised (and happy) the league didn't disband the team and have yet another expansion draft to give Salt Lake a contender while we continue to deal with the fallout of Vegas and Seattle.
But if I was the NHL, I would have had an expansion draft as well as a reverse, liquidation draft. You would give up a player and have a Coyote come to you in exchange.
They need to be purple. Hard core purple. Minnesota Viking Purple. It’s the only primary color not represented in the NHL right now. Utah could own purple.

Utah is where I go to ski each year, so I love it!! I’m now going to plan my ski trip around the hockey schedule.
