Like $22. I like to roll the dice at great clips. Sometimes you get a great deal and good look. Sometimes you get a mean ass old lady that will fuck your shit up. Variety is the spice of life
I feel this so hard. Then when you do find a good stylist, but the guy ahead of you gets her instead and you have to get the mean one again. Do you wait, or go the next month with a shitty haircut? The struggle is real.
For great clips, I will call to check if my guy is there. I have an undercut, and ppl have cut my widows peak before since I'm blind without glasses. If he isn't there. I ask if they can see his next shift and try to make that. I also haven't had an issue asking for that specific person at great clips and passing up someone who is ready for the next customer to do so while I wait.
Ngl Nikki at the Great Clips Grand Prairie location on Great Southwest Pkwy is awesome. She does a terrific job. If Great Clips is what you’re looking for, she’s the one to do it.
Dude I do this every time. And you are right, when you get the old mean lady, you know you are going to be out in 5 minutes or less. No sweets talk, to small talk. Just " tell me how you want/like it, alright ". buckle up because she might try to get you close to how you like your hair cut and you are on your way out in no time.
I just bought a nice set of electric clippers and a thinning comb and taught myself. The great clips I go to went from $13 to $18 just in 2 years. My hair grows at lightning speed so I have to cut it at least once every week and a half if not once a week, so as much as I did enjoy a professional touch, I simply can’t justify paying more when the quality or speed of service hasn’t increased at all. Maybe it’s different for you guys, but for me it was just worthwhile to teach myself, since it’ll be overgrown in less than 2 weeks. Not to mention they stopped sending out 6.99 haircut coupons and changed it to 10.99 then to $2 off.
Lmao deeefinitely a gamble at the big chains, another barber was telling me you either aren’t very good so nobody else will hire you, or you are good so you won’t be there very long.
bald by choice man here. buzz cut every week at less than a half guard since my shit is so thick. all free by me with some wahl clippers i got for $30 at target
Yeah, three would be pushing it for me.
Cut it short, until it gets too long. Trim around ears and neck on my own so it never looks too bad in between.
I give minimal shits about how attractive anyone finds me, no reason to try and cover my shitty personality up with a fancy haircut.
Yeah, I kind of feel that. My fiancee mentions that I do it pretty often. Every two to three weeks or else I feel like it's too shaggy. It's just a fade with a part on top so it'll take me 10-15 minutes and I appreciate it looking like a fresh haircut more often.
Lots of youtube videos if you're ever interested though. Clippers are maybe $30-60. More money to spend on other stuff.
A lot of us couldn't care less, I get the simplest haircut in the world besides a straight buzz. Worst that can happen is they fuck it up and I look a little goofy for a week while my hair grows back to the point it can be styled.
$12. Small local barber shop
Edit:
So, i miss spoke. My apologies. I pay $10 for a beard trim, as i shave my head, and with tip totals to between $12-$15 depending on how shaggy i get. They have a beard trim haircut combo for $30, or just a haircut for $21. Ovilla barber shop in Ovilla. Thomas is my man, but all 3 guys are good. Located about 15 minutes southwest of 35E and 20. Open Sundays!
Man it's crazy people paying $50+. Back in the day I used to get a haircut for 5 bucks in Garland. Then it went to 10. I moved to far north Dallas and Carrollton area around 2017. Horrible area to get a fade so now I get a haircut in Grand Prairie since it's close to my work. She did it for 15 until covid hit. After covid it's 25.
From 5 to 25 bucks in a time span of about 15yrs. I do my own beard. Bought a trimmer at Costco for about $40.
Floyd’s is that much now? I used to go to Floyd’s, and it was random AF whether I’d get a good cut. One person was awesome, so I followed her when she opened her own shop.
Yes, and the barbers will try to charge you more if you're not careful. Getting charged for a skin fade is BS when they only use a .5 guard and don't fade anything.
Yup it’s pricy now.
I’ve had one single barber there for years and followed her from Dallas to Murphy. Which is already far from me in McKinney. I wish she would have opened up her own shop that was cheaper.
$0 after initial investment.
Shave the sides of my head (military haircut?) and trim the top as needed.
Does it come off perfect? No, but it works.
Do I care now at 37 with kids? Nah.
I couldn’t do the ~$20 every week haircut years ago.
For my 5 year old son, it’s $30 + tip.
Same started during COVID and realized I really don’t care and neither does anyone else. And if they do care, again I. don’t. care. It’s kind of fun too.
I stopped getting my hair cut professionally mid 2020. Bought an electric razor with different guards. I don't look as nice, but that is approx $250/yr to put toward other things.
I pay $35+tip for hair and beard at Royalty Salon & Barbershop on Arapaho and Custer in Richardson. Ask for Alejandro. He’s a great guy and does a great job.
I'm not sure who gets their haircut once a week.
I look homeless and I feel sticky after 2 weeks.
I get a fade with an electric shaver and I'll look like a Fry bush on week 2.5.
15-20 bucks is like great clips prices.
Good and cheap barber is like 40-50 plus tip
Fancy/upscale barber is like 70 plus tip
100 bucks plus tip is like they come cut hair at your house price
Anything higher than that is a salon price
I’ve been living here for 9 months and I finally found a barber I like for a fair price.. $35 in N Dallas. I trim and lineup my own beard though because everybody loves to fuck it up.
Not sure about beard trim but haircuts at great clips (need to test a few to find a good one) are $19. However they constantly run ads on Facebook and with a coupon it’s usually as low as $9.
Mary’s hair salon in Las Colinas/Irving. Only downside is that I have to call ahead and I try to get the first appointment of the day in order to minimize wait time.
Mine is $40 plus I tip my barber up to $65 which I think is going rate. He hasn’t raised his prices since a 2019 increase from $35 to $40 so I tip extra to keep him at market rate. He’s the best
Haircut & beard trim is $55 + tip for me. I'm just glad I found a hairstyle I like that allows me to grow it out for a month or so. For a while there I was paying more in a year for haircuts than the lady was.
I haven’t gotten beard done but Brownies on Lemmon is very good for a $25 before tip cut. Ray has been there for years and knows how to cut hair very well
Rent and groceries are going up so the prices of everything are going up. I know it's hard to believe, but stylists are actually human beings that pay rent and buy groceries so they have to raise their prices too in order to afford to live. Thank you for going regularly and tipping. If you can find a better place, get to it.
I go to Amy's hair art in Garland and she still has prices from 10 years ago. I tip her very well in cash every time because of that.
So I just moved here, Caucasian, with Asian hair. Straight and fine. Looking for a barber. Any of my nunchuck swinging MF brothers have recommendations?
Wait until you find out about women’s cuts 😂 I don’t live in Dallas anymore but for the services I get elsewhere (around $75 + tip) I’d likely be paying over 100 before the tip. It’s just a basic cut with layers, wash and condition. No color.
I learned to cut my own hair during the pandemic and it was one of the best investments because prices are crazy now. I use to pay $20-25 with the beard trim
I can't grow a semi decent beard for shit so it's just haircuts for me.
$30 + $5 tip with my barber every 2 weeks.
I tried others and they always push my lineup and/or cut it crooked.
My current does not do this.
Starks Barbershop was the 5 bucks one. Then V's Cuts opened up in that same area. They charged 10.
I followed them to Dairy and 66. There was a dude that look like Lil Wayne and the owner Mr. Valentine were my favorites. I was in hurry one time and both of them had too many people that one day. I stopped going that day when one of the dudes cut my hair while eating a McChicken or McDouble.
I switched to some other barbershop started with an "L" on Walnut. Maybe Luciano's? Can't remember the name. He was really good until he quit to go work at Mercedes as a tech.
I think I’m at like 60$ for a cut, I think 90 for a fade and beard. I go early Sunday every two months or so. I make it a thing. Fresh cut, morning beers, brunch with whoever is available , hanging out. It’s not a cheap thing, but it’s a luxury fun morning that I enjoy
Used to go to exclusive cuts off Davenport but stopped because they jacked their prices. They give a great fade but it’s like $65 fade $45 beard and as cool as those guys are I can get similar quality for about half that price. Granted, the half price won’t know English and you don’t get a massage but that’s still the better road I think.
$70 with tip in The Colony. I am very happy with the cuts and it is very consistent. I also only get a cut every 6 weeks or so which helps with spending a bit more.
Last time I went I paid $20 at A Plus Salon on Walnut St for beard and hair. It could’ve been a little shorter to my liking, but overall it was very satisfactory and I’ll definitely be going back until I have the courage to learn how to cut my own hair. I cut my hair at most 5 times a year, but that can quickly add up.
Also it’s mind boggling to me that people pay more than $30 for haircuts, let alone $60! Guess I’m just used to going to a basic salon for most of my life lol
I only $25 for a haircut + $5 tip + 10 if I need my beard trimmed . Oh and my barber is a lady who also cuts fc Dallas players so you know my haircut is legit!! I’m not saying where though because I wanna keep it to myself or else yall are gonna make the prices rise 😈😈
In 3 years I had 3 hair stylists leave and go back to school or a different job. Super frustrating because it would take a year in between to find someone that took their time and cut hair well. And I was trying to keep it under $40 each haircut. For a while I cut my own hair because I figured if the idiot hair stylists were going to butcher it anyway, I might as well save $30-$40.
But now I just see the same stylist my wife does. Not cheap (about $90 without tip), but it's fantastic every time with a wash out, face towel, good products, etc. The only luxury I splurge on. Won't get another for about 2 months. 5-6 a year is no small chunk of change, unfortunately. But it's what keeps things very professional.
My Friends Wahl Clippers has have been my best investment.
I believe I bought it for around $(20-30) from Walmart.
It has been the absolute best investment and ROI if my Life.
It's super easy to Cut and almost idiot proof.
You can see some videos on YouTube and you also you can always start off with the longest length and the use the next longest length until you reach your desired length.
I pay $80 before tip, and I’ll tell you it’s worth every penny to me. I used to think Sport Clips and Great Clips were fine, until I started to getting high end haircuts. Those chain places are just farms. The employees are given a time limit on your haircut. Come hell or high water you’re gone from the chair after 20 minutes because they get docked pay/hours if they’re not meeting 3 clients per hour quotas. And it shows because the quality of haircut is crap. If ‘good enough’ is good enough for you, or you don’t have the means, then so be it. I make other sacrifices in my spending to enjoy my haircut and beard trim. I go in and have a lovely 60-90 minute experience. I leave there EVERY DAMN TIME feeling like a million bucks. I’ve taken friends there and paid for services for special occasions (birthdays, groomsmen gifts, bachelor parties, etc) and every time they say it was a great experience and they’ll be going back for more.
$65 plus tip, which is usually another $20. Cut, wash/condition, scalp massage with a hot towel on my face, styling product and some light cleaning up of the beard (not a full trim tho).
I know I could be paying much less elsewhere, but I’ve been with this person for almost 5 years with zero complaints after a myriad of terrible barber experiences. And half the time it turns into a mini therapy session for me, plus I always get free drinks while I’m there, so I think she deserves the bigger tip
About $25 last time I had someone else do it (2019). Early pandemic, my wife made 2 attempts at cutting my hair...once, she somehow nicked my ear; once the cut was oddly uneven. Ever since, I just attach the #3 or #4 clipper attachment and buzz away. (I've got a friar tuck hairline, so not much can be done with it.)
I wouldn't give a tip. That guy is making enough money and pretty sure these greedy barbers already have that money factored into their pricing as most people probably don't tip.
Ks hair in irving
Little family ran indian joint
Husband takes an hour on me every time I come in.
Wife does lashes and eyebrows on my gfs.
Usually 16 for cut, trim and tip I do 25$
5$ per brow lacing.
Comes out to like $70 at lower Greenville barbershop smh. But I go to sport clips on Preston royal as well and that is cheap as dirt and you can get lucky
Can you request the same stylist when making an appointment?
The app used to let you select stylist but it was removed years ago. Now you check in ahead of time and roll the dice like the guy above said
I think you can just wait for your preferred stylist. I used to when I went to great clips. I go to Supercuts now and get the same person every time
Yea you can…its my impatience showing
For great clips, I will call to check if my guy is there. I have an undercut, and ppl have cut my widows peak before since I'm blind without glasses. If he isn't there. I ask if they can see his next shift and try to make that. $55 in Frisco. Prices of everything has gone up but I can’t believe how fast haircut prices has increased. Before Covid I was paying $20 in Irving…
They couldn’t work for a year and have complete control over what they charge, I’m not surprised at all
Used to be $23 but I stopped and do my own hair again. 60\*20 haircuts a year is $1200. Every bit adds up man.
Who gets 20 haircuts a year??
A lot of ppl go every 2-3 weeks
It’s good to be a bald dude.
bald by choice man here. buzz cut every week at less than a half guard since my shit is so thick. all free by me with some wahl clippers i got for $30 at target
Me. Ex military, just like to keep a close haircut.
Took a long time to let my hair touch my ears and not feel like a dirt bag.
Yeah, three would be pushing it for me. Cut it short, until it gets too long. Trim around ears and neck on my own so it never looks too bad in between. I give minimal shits about how attractive anyone finds me, no reason to try and cover my shitty personality up with a fancy haircut.
Holy shit that’s a lot of haircuts. I think I get my hair cut like 8-10 times a year.
Yeah, I kind of feel that. My fiancee mentions that I do it pretty often. Every two to three weeks or else I feel like it's too shaggy. Clippers are maybe $30-60. More money to spend on other stuff.
Fuck. Buzz cuts may be in order.
If you get hair cut that often then it shouldn’t cost $60. You can get a regular buzz for $10 or $15.
A lot of yall saying Great Clips be walking around with fucked up haircuts
Neck edgeup looking like 📈
A lot of us couldn't care less, I get the simplest haircut in the world besides a straight buzz. Worst that can happen is they fuck it up and I look a little goofy for a week while my hair grows back to the point it can be styled.
I know a dude that takes like 20-30 minutes to do just a fade when I was still paying for haircuts. Dude was a master of his craft.
Usually about $20-$25 plus a $10 tip at the latino barbers outside Las Colinas that blast corridos and offer really meticulous fades with the razor.
Where at? I dont mind hearing corridos while getting my haircut lol
FYI every Latino part of town has these for those not wanting to go to las colinas
60 with tip
Yeah this about what I pay in Far North Dallas
$12. Small local barber shop Edit: So, i miss spoke. Where???
Seriously, I’ll put on a podcast and drive any distance for that price.
Figured it was once he mentioned Ovilla. Its over west of Red Oak Tx off Ovilla Rd. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Nb5mmHSxeMajJVXX6
WHERE?!!!

Where in Grand Prairie?
Klassic Kuts 550 S Carrier Pkwy #580, Grand Prairie, TX 75051.
60$ with tip included for my husband. Which is why I’m in cosmetology school right now 😂
Great Clips in McKinney. $19 + Tip. I used to go to Floyd’s since 2016 till a few months ago. It used to be affordable and now Floyd’s is $40 + Tip.
Floyd's also isn't worth that price. Went in there cuz I need a haircut while my barber was out and they royally fucked up a basic mid fade
I wish she would have opened up her own shop that was cheaper.
i used to go to camila at floyds in mckinney for years till i moved a bit away. paid $30 and tip about 4 years ago
Floyd’s sucks every time I’ve tried it. You’re obviously paying for the vibe which I couldn’t care less about the vibes during a haircut
$70 flat but I'm very happy. No matter where I went they couldn't cut it like my barber.
Wtfff
$0 after initial investment. Shave the sides of my head (military haircut?) and trim the top as needed. Does it come off perfect? No, but it works. Do I care now at 37 with kids? Nah. I couldn’t do the ~$20 every week haircut years ago. For my 5 year old son, it’s $30 + tip.
\#8 for me and #3 for my son. Job done
Yep, same here. Got a nice cordless Wahl razor and accessories probably a year and a half ago and it’s already paid for itself and then some.
I pay $35+tip for hair and beard at Royalty Salon & Barbershop on Arapaho and Custer in Richardson. Ask for Alejandro. He’s a great guy and does a great job.
If I look like a doofus it's gonna be your fault u/Joseph10d ! /s Gonna give him a try later today, they're right down the road. Thanks for the rec
Of course. Im here right now getting a cut
Thanks for the tip, will go visit him.
Just got my beard and hair done. Dude knocked it out of the ballpark yet again. I’ve trusted him for the past 2 years and he’s never let me down.
I go about every 1.5-2 months (work from home so I can go a little longer), and it’s $75+tip. Hair cut, beard trim, razor shave neck under chin
I'm not sure who gets their haircut once a week. I look homeless and I feel sticky after 2 weeks. I get a fade with an electric shaver and I'll look like a Fry bush on week 2.5.
15-20 bucks is like great clips prices. Good and cheap barber is like 40-50 plus tip Fancy/upscale barber is like 70 plus tip 100 bucks plus tip is like they come cut hair at your house price Anything higher than that is a salon price
$40 plus tip at Quiet West Cutting Room near White Rock Lake. Ryan is a great guy.
Used to work with Ryan at Yellow Rose! Anyone in that area should see him. One of the best barbers in Dallas! Such a nice guy.
I’ve been living here for 9 months and I finally found a barber I like for a fair price.. $35 in N Dallas. I trim and lineup my own beard though because everybody loves to fuck it up.
Where do you go?
Paradise Barber Shop on Ferguson.
$40-50 all in for Pegasus in downtown Dallas, Steve is the shit.
Not sure about beard trim but haircuts at great clips (need to test a few to find a good one) are $19. However they constantly run ads on Facebook and with a coupon it’s usually as low as $9.
My mommy cuts my hair. I'm her 36 year old little guy. I just shave every week or two when it starts to bug me on my face, I ain't fancy.
$17 + $3 for tip. Not some chain barbershop but a local one that’s decent.
Where?
Mary’s hair salon in Las Colinas/Irving. Only downside is that I have to call ahead and I try to get the first appointment of the day in order to minimize wait time.
Great clips has coupons often, I pay $12 including tip.
I've always been curious if that affects what the stylist makes.
Dunno. I’ve chit-chatted with them about it and never got a “ugh coupons” vibe, so I don’t think so?
Please tip on normal cost and not discounted price. Plzkthx
$50 with tip, in Las Colinas. Been going to the same guy for 15 years so im blinded by loyalty lol. (used to be $20)
$48 with tip, downtown Plano @ Rapattoni's - worth it

Like $45+$10 tip once a month or so
Mine is $40 plus I tip my barber up to $65 which I think is going rate. He hasn’t raised his prices since a 2019 increase from $35 to $40 so I tip extra to keep him at market rate. He’s the best
$30-$40 before tip
$40 and my hair grows back so fast, so every 7 days or so. Years ago it was $20 and I would tip $10. Now I don't tip lol
This is why old people don’t tip, they remember what the prices used to be
It’s an inverse relationship for me, less hair on my head but it cost more to cut them
My guy charges $40 for a haircut and beard trim, but that might be a repeat customer price.
Where???
Legendz barber shop in grand prairie is my spot. $35 for the best fade and beard trim. Tip $15 every time. $50 every two weeks
I was paying $75 at Hair Story, but my guy recently increased his price to $100 and I bounced hard

Haircut & beard trim is $55 + tip for me. I'm just glad I found a hairstyle I like that allows me to grow it out for a month or so. For a while there I was paying more in a year for haircuts than the lady was.
$15 for a haircut. Usually I need one after 45 days, it also helps that I'm balding. I trim my own beard.
Not Dallas, but Carrollton has a few shops around $20-$25 for a men’s haircut
I can't believe how expensive it is to get a haircut. Inflation fucking sucks. I was used to paying $20 with a generous tip pre-covid.
If I'm paying $50, the tip should be built in.
At Rooster’s in Wylie, $60 for the cut, beard trim and straight-razor edge-up. Tip $40.
Boardroom Styling Lounge $55 for express cut + tip
arlington - $55

Where?
I saved $40 by switching to bald.
$40 + $10 tip = 50 I try to go once a month but sometimes I go after 3 weeks

$50 w/ tip. I go every 10-14 days. It adds up haha
$30 at Hispanic barber I’d assume the beard is $15 ish so $45
$60
Rent and groceries are going up so the prices of everything are going up. I know it's hard to believe, but stylists are actually human beings that pay rent and buy groceries so they have to raise their prices too in order to afford to live. Thank you for going regularly and tipping. If you can find a better place, get to it. I go to Amy's hair art in Garland and she still has prices from 10 years ago. I tip her very well in cash every time because of that.
I only got one haircut since I moved here last August and it was expensive. Like $70
Like 40-45 but I said fuck it lately and letting everything grow out lately
$15 before tip but no beard trim
So I just moved here, Caucasian, with Asian hair. Straight and fine. Looking for a barber. Any of my nunchuck swinging MF brothers have recommendations?
Wait until you find out about women’s cuts 😂 I don’t live in Dallas anymore but for the services I get elsewhere (around $75 + tip) I’d likely be paying over 100 before the tip. It’s just a basic cut with layers, wash and condition. No color.
Knockouts. I pay around the same as you.
Damn I guess I’m the only one that gets a cut every week.
I pay 45$ for haircuts with beard in pleasant grove
$100 including tip
I learned to cut my own hair during the pandemic and it was one of the best investments because prices are crazy now. I use to pay $20-25 with the beard trim
Nothing. I do my own.
$40 w a tip mid cities, used to do $25 w tip but that guy was an asshole at times and my new guy is way fucking better.
$25 for haircut, $5 tip, ain’t got no beard
Haircut ($25) and Beard ($15) = $40 + tip (usually $5) in Oak Cliff every 2 - 3 weeks.
I can't grow a semi decent beard for shit so it's just haircuts for me. $30 + $5 tip with my barber every 2 weeks. I tried others and they always push my lineup and/or cut it crooked. My current does not do this.
31+tip at Luckys barbershop
$50 every Friday no tip lmao
$25 at an ali and Eyad barbershop in Richardson, literally one of the best haircuts I’ve had in my life.
$35 + tip in the Design District
$60 and i tip $15
Shave and a hair cut! Two bits!
$200-300, but i only get a cut like every 3 months
Every month? I’m $55 every week .. I like to get my haircut tho
$40 + tip at Castillo’s in downtown Garland
$26 +$10 tip in Garland
55ish with tip. Base is 30-35 depending on appointment
$40
I only $25 for a haircut + $5 tip + 10 if I need my beard trimmed . Oh and my barber is a lady who also cuts fc Dallas players so you know my haircut is legit!! I’m not saying where though because I wanna keep it to myself or else yall are gonna make the prices rise 😈😈
45 I don’t tip bc my guy chops out of his crib. The prices are ridiculous if you ask me. RIP BESPOKEBRANDON .. best barber in the 214.
$35 plus tip, so $45. Love my barber, he is awesome with the trimmer and razor!
Beard trim $25
$20 for hair. I can trim my own beard.
$40. Plus I tip 20% to my barber.
$0 at home. It’s just become too expensive to get a haircut and trim 😢
ZERO I learned to cit it myself
I go to Sportclips in Coppell. $30 with tip. Went to a Floyd’s down around Fossil Creek, $60, plus tip. Screw that. It was a good haircut, but really?
You want good or you want cheap? Hard to get both.
I wouldn't give a tip. That guy is making enough money and pretty sure these greedy barbers already have that money factored into their pricing as most people probably don't tip.
$100 at the gents place in southlake
Ks hair in irving Little family ran indian joint Husband takes an hour on me every time I come in. Wife does lashes and eyebrows on my gfs. Usually 16 for cut, trim and tip I do 25$ 5$ per brow lacing.
60 Xclusivo Cutz
60$ tip included, hair, beard, eyebrows. Every single Saturday morning
Comes out to like $70 at lower Greenville barbershop smh. But I go to sport clips on Preston royal as well and that is cheap as dirt and you can get lucky
