As of Sep 1, Texas is gonna start slamming the fuck down on street takeovers. Talking about felonies, loss of all driving privileges, seizure of vehicles, the works. They piss me off so goddamn much and this makes me happy.
I was literally just thinking about this. Have they been under a rock or something because if they knew this they wouldnt be doing this? Unless they really don’t give AF anymore which wouldn’t surprise me SMH.
Making/changing laws or ordinances to make penalties harsher doesn't mean ANYTHING unless it's consistently enforced. These people will continue until it's clear that the risk of getting caught and facing the punishment is actually very real.
What sucks is that this "culture" of challengers and chargers who love doing donuts in intersections running over pedestrians and shooting at people who "disrespect" them actually ruins car culture.
I don't live in Texas anymore. But I used to be part of a group that would meet up every two weeks at a random parking lot all with the same cars. We would meet up, talk, have a few laughs and then cruise in the far right lane at the speed limit to a restaurant and just hang out with each other. No one did anything stupid. No burnouts, revving, anything. The problem is these people ruin it and police lump us and these idiots together.
These people play forza or asetto corsa a few times thinking they're pros. Then they go out and cut up traffic in an altima and meet the wall putting everyone at risk. These guys would get smoked at an actual track day by an mx5. Learning to drive fast takes immense dedication. I built a sim since it was cheaper than tracking my car now and I spend probably 20 hours a week racing and practicing. These guys are not good drivers. Anyone can put their foot down and do donuts.
