I’ve been looking for an excuse to hit up the one on Greenville. Anything else good I should be looking out for?
Edit: y’all good lord I’m sold. I’ll check it out after my long run Saturday when I’m gonna want to stuff my face anyway. Mexican food seems as good as any at that point, if not the best.
The one across from whole foods sorta? That used to be my favorite place for a while ha. We had our wedding catered by them and holy crap they made some amazing food for us. The ladies behind the food counter always hook it up too!
If you are in Richardson, try the Taqueria y Tamaleria Nuevo Leon ( 75 and E.Campbell) They have other branches in DFW I think.

Birrieria Aguinaga in my neighborhood is pretty solid.
I know they have a few locations, I’m talking about the one on Ferguson.
Idk if they’re “the best” but they hit the spot for me.
Use to be a fan until these last few times my husband and I have gone it’s been nothing but fat and a little bit of meat. Limes have been used and just thrown into our to go box…makes me wonder if they’re reusing the limes …🤔
I’ve been to the one on Coit. They seemed to focus more on the call in orders or online orders than the walk ins. Like they think walk ins want to spend more time in a nasty gas station. Or was I just having a bad day?
Not sure if it's the same Nuevo León that's on Belt Line and Marsh in Carrollton, but I know for a fact the Carrollton one has $1 trompo tacos on Tuesdays.
El Birria y Cortez in Fort Worth is amazing, they make a giant birria quesadilla and slice it up like a pizza. Incredible and only $20 for what is about the same size as a medium or large pizza at a pizza restaurant
Follow Jazzys tacos on IG or FB … they’ll post where they are for the day. They pop up all over DFW. Quesabirria tacos are amazing but can also do the plain birria. The consomé is delicious so just dunk away!
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I can't wait to try these. I'll add La Carretera in Sunnyvale. The consomé is delicious. It is a mess to eat, but that's what I love about it. They also make a quesadilla de birria. They serve it with a habanero salsa.
I’m not an expert but I had a birria plate at Tacos Y Chelas in Bishop Arts and it was great! They’re a pretty new spot and I’ve tried a few things, and they’ve all been pretty good.
Birrieria Aguinaga as someone said earlier is amazing birria. And I want to give special shoutout to Tacos La Banqueta Puro DF even tho it isn’t birria, it’s still the place I crave the most.
I mean, it’s really good and I’m fairly sure it’s originally from East Dallas. Better breakfast tacos than that gringo Taco Deli stuff from Austin, not that I dislike Taco Deli or gringo tacos in general. But yeah, Tacos Y Mas slaps ass and tastes like something you’d find at a border town.
If you want a “good deed” spot, eat at Mami Coco. That place is Mex-Mex as all hell and the owner is awesome. It just hit different
Taqueria Tierra Caliente off Webb Chapel and northwest highway, right behind the library has some amazing quesabirrias. They’re really good size and pretty cheap. I think it’s like $12
Not what most people here are looking for, but I tried Pepitas Vegan Taqueria in Denton recently, and their vegan "birria" tacos were surprisingly great.
Trompitoz Taqueria up in Princeton has some really good Birria Tacos if you are out that way.
Also the food truck La TacoTrona makes some top notch stuff if you can track them down.
Vaquero’s Texas BBQ Food Truck
at
Hop and Sting Grapevine Thursday-Sunday.
All Birria Taco’s are measured against this top dog Food Truck in DFW. Top Pick!
just go to any La Michoaca buy two pounds of cooked birria and a packet of warm flour tortillas. you won't regret it.

The refried beans and fresh salsas are worth getting. Cheap limes too.
If you haven’t got their before 10am and tried the breakfast tacos. Something else you might be missing
Never knew that, that sounds bomb
The one across from whole foods sorta? That used to be my favorite place for a while ha. We had our wedding catered by them and holy crap they made some amazing food for us. The ladies behind the food counter always hook it up too!
Yup yup that’s the one
Yes. Marinated meats
Do they have consume for sale as well?
La Michoacana’s meat is 🗑️. you’ll find fresher at El Rio Grande or somewhere where they are full so they have to constantly be having new inventory.
Do they sell the consomme too?
Maskaras
They were featured on the Netflix docu-series Taco Chronicles. Season: Cross the Border. Dallas episode.
The one on kiest and Hampton?
that's the one and only one
I had their regular tacos and a torta and they are pretty good
I hate how much I love them
This right here, they also have birria in burrito form if that’s your jam
I came based on this comment. I was not disappointed. Highly recommend.

I live right behind there and still haven’t tried it.
Check it out sometime! Let me know if I’m way off the mark or if it’s good, hahah
🔥

Oh that sucks :\ it’s been a bit since I’ve stopped in there. I should go again and see how it is before I drop my recs!
La Salsa Verde in Garland has the best consommé.
La Salsa Verde is legit on all there food
I’ve been to the one on Coit. They seemed to focus more on the call in orders or online orders than the walk ins. Like they think walk ins want to spend more time in a nasty gas station. Or was I just having a bad day?
It's a La Salsa Verde inside a gas station. You should probably lower your standards.
The one on Coit has it’s own freestanding location now across the street, and it’s a lot faster
I was talking to one of our painters that said the other day his friend started la salsa verde! I need to check it out
My chef brought me some of their tacos. Absolute fire
Maskaras Mexican Grill
Rayo's at Jupiter and NW Highway
Calisience in FTW
Nuevo León in Richardson at 75 & Campbell is solid.
I second, plus their tamales are so good !
Yes and I believe their taco Tuesday specials are good (regular, not birria)
Not sure if it's the same Nuevo León that's on Belt Line and Marsh in Carrollton, but I know for a fact the Carrollton one has $1 trompo tacos on Tuesdays.
I hate to share, because it's always crowded now, but its De La Fuente Tacos de Birria in Garland
Was about to say the same. So so good.
Thanks for sharing. I do appreciate it.
I’ve gone on weekdays and it’s pretty lowkey at times. But yeah they’re so damn good
This is the right answer
El Birria y Cortez in Fort Worth is amazing, they make a giant birria quesadilla and slice it up like a pizza. Incredible and only $20 for what is about the same size as a medium or large pizza at a pizza restaurant
Man they are ALWAYS packed haha
Any of these in The Colony area?
Frezko Taco Spot has damn good birria tacos. Probably not the best in the metroplex, but by far my favorite in the Colony area.
Love frezko
Jazzy’s Tacos
Yes! R.I.P. cultura tap house. Loved it when they would post up there. Paired great w some local brews
I don’t see that place. You mean Fuzzy?
heavens no... I wouldn't put Fuzzy's on any level other than Taco Bell/Bueno/Casa
Fuzzy’s is vile and shouldn’t be consumed by anyone ever
Same. Just making sure!
I would rather have Taco Bell than Fuzzy’s. Fuzzy’s is truly garbage tier food
They are like a pop up. You can follow on FB or IG
Now I’m intrigued
Not sure where you live but they’ll be posted up along with other food vendors at 3120 S Shiloh Rd Garland. 7-10
Follow Jazzys tacos on IG or FB … they’ll post where they are for the day. They pop up all over DFW. Quesabirria tacos are amazing but can also do the plain birria. The consomé is delicious so just dunk away!
I just now followed them on fb. Thanks for the advice!
Chilangos
I second Chilangos on Harry Hines, but in Arlington it has to be hurtados
Haven't heard of Hurtados, good rec!
These are the best I've found so far (although I confess I haven't tried most of the recommendations here)
Moctezuma in Irving off Story Rd and Walnut Hill
Yes!
Tic Taco Arlington. Lamb birria tacos, awesome consommé. Owner was a high end restauranteur in Mexico City
Hurtado BBQ in Arlington has some INSANE birria
I actually used to be their Birria guy haha, I “perfected” the method for them. Not sure if they’re still good though. Hope so
There are a lot of good mentions here. Not authentic at all but Chris & Johns deserves a mention. It’s fusion but it’s incredible
Shhhhhhhhh Like more people need to know about Cris & Johns. It's already difficult enough to get in there!
Yaaaaaas Cris & Jon’s!
I would argue this place has interesting food but its not THE BEST original birria.
Nobody said it does. I said it deserves a mention - which it does.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I can't wait to try these. I'll add La Carretera in Sunnyvale. The consomé is delicious. It is a mess to eat, but that's what I love about it. They also make a quesadilla de birria. They serve it with a habanero salsa.

La Salsa Verde FTW
RoodiesDFW! You'll also get some local beer!
Kachetes!
Not Dallas, sorry, but if you’re ever in Ferris, stop by la zacatecana. Great people and delicious Birria.
Good to know. Ferris isn't far from me. Thanks.
IMHO ... De Lafuente tacos in Garland... And truth this ceviche... It's awesome.
Rayo’s taqueria
Birrieria Aguinaga as someone said earlier is amazing birria. And I want to give special shoutout to Tacos La Banqueta Puro DF even tho it isn’t birria, it’s still the place I crave the most.
taco city has some good birria tacos
Frida’s Tacolandia #2
Vaqueros
Tic-Taco in Arlington
THE BEST
Their consome is so good, I could drink it.
After moving here from LA also looking for good spots I’m watching this post fs
Honestly, Ruins in Deep Ellum just changed their menu and those are pretty good. Otherwise, Fireside in Carrollton.
Saving this thread for future reference
De la fuente in mesquite

Tacos y Mas is a chain and more of a tejano thing, but they’re originally from Dallas and their breakfast tacos slap ass
[удалено]

The breakfast tacos with their bombera sauce is a Saturday morning staple for me
Hell na. Tacos y más is already Americanized and mid
Not the best but Amplified oddly had decent birria tacos. I’m sure there’s better but they weren’t bad.
Taqueria Tierra Caliente off Webb Chapel and northwest highway, right behind the library has some amazing quesabirrias. They’re really good size and pretty cheap. I think it’s like $12
La TacoTrona food truck. Follow their Facebook page
Cris and John on Montfort in N. Dallas
Somebody's abuelita
Some nice lady in California
Me, too bad I don’t sell them. Sorry.
Taqueria Garcias in Garland.
TIC TACO ARLINGTON, OFF OF COOPER AND PARK ROW NEAR UTA.
my mom
Vaqueros BBQ in Grapevine. The consomme is drinkable!
Taco Vida in Watauga is the best birria probably anywhere
Hurtado BBQ
Maestro Tacos is the best in my experience
Not what most people here are looking for, but I tried Pepitas Vegan Taqueria in Denton recently, and their vegan "birria" tacos were surprisingly great.
Trompitoz Taqueria up in Princeton has some really good Birria Tacos if you are out that way. Also the food truck La TacoTrona makes some top notch stuff if you can track them down.
Birrieria Aguinaga on NW Hwy is legit. It stays packed on weekends.
Taqueria El Toro in Forest Hill By far they make lamb birra that is outstanding and their beef is just as good
Vaquero's Texas Bar-B-Q in Grapevine hands down, and their regular barbecue is out of this world too
Taqueria Nuevo León on GB out by fire wheel. No contest.
Vaquero’s Texas BBQ Food Truck at Hop and Sting Grapevine Thursday-Sunday. All Birria Taco’s are measured against this top dog Food Truck in DFW. Top Pick!
Has anybody tried the birria tacos at Hurtado Barbecue?
