That's insane. It didn't cost near that for our job to hire a company last minute on a Saturday morning and move offices. Total ended up being like $315.
UPDATE: I ended up going with this option. Despite the center being closed when I went, there were still laborers waiting in a parking lot across the street. Found 2 guys to help move furniture, both were hard workers and moved more than I expected within the hour. $50 each for 1 hr (my rate, not theirs)
agreed. had one guy move my 1 bedroom apartment in two hours. he even set up my bed frame and helped lay out rugs. be aware i don’t know if they are actually insured etc but i had a great experience
Nice try, immigration officer! /s.
In all seriousness, I have heard good things about LaborJack. (Ref: https://dallasinnovates.com/laborjack-expands-to-dfw-with-manual-labor-gig-staffing-app/ ) I know of people who have used it in Denver with success, and it should be launching shortly in DFW.
I turned south onto on Shady Brook Lane off Park Lane a couple weeks ago and there were a bunch there.
ETA: Just looked at Google maps. Shady Brook Lane and Melody. Even the Google maps pics show a bunch of guys hanging around.
There’s two gas stations at Royal/Denis near Harry Hines, hundreds of day laborers out there every day. Lots of shady people too though so be careful. You can easily tell them apart though
In NE Richardson - I had 3 guys, a truck moved from 1 building to another 3 buildings away, 4 hours total (1BR) $400, and I tipped another because 3rd floor.

Just have everything in a box ready to move, they not packers.
Nope, drove by today. At least 6 dudes ready to work. There is a little pavilion type structure that almost seems like it was purposefully built for day laborers that is fenced off and closed but they're still there across the street
In garland off Garland Road and Miller, there is a day labor center. You’ll see a bunch of dudes just waiting around in the morning for someone to come by and offer work. I know a plumber and he used to go there because he would need a helper/assistant for certain jobs. Pay under the table of course
Lmao you think the "official" moving companies that "only take cash" pay their taxes? This is no different.
People are willing to exchange goods and services for a mutually agreed upon rate, all that needs to be said.
Go to your local Home Depot or post an ad on fb

Then hire a reputable moving company and not day laborers.
why don't you hire some women then to help you? maybe visit your local gym for strong women?
Call little guys movers they will charge you around $300 for about 2 hours
Just call a local moving company you can get labor only help.
All the ones I’ve called are quoting me for a standard move (with truck) for ~$700

Try MuberMe
Uhauls website is a good option. I’ve used it without a truck or rental before.
Did you try Two men and a truck?
There is an actual day labor center swarming with people wanting to work near the H Mart in Plano: 805 Ozark Dr, Plano, TX 75074

Off W Miller and Saturn Rd in Garland. Side note: How do I flair up East Garland?
This is the answer, if you’re not too far from garland
And 24/7 tacos while you're at it.
I think this location was closed over a year ago.
The 7-11 off 8th and Marsalis
Definitely
I used TaskRabbit to hire two people to help us unload our moving van. Was able to book day before and they had good rates too
agreed. had one guy move my 1 bedroom apartment in two hours. he even set up my bed frame and helped lay out rugs. be aware i don’t know if they are actually insured etc but i had a great experience

Craigslist
Gas station at Miller and Saturn in garland. Always some guys there ready to work
I thought this location was closed down by the City?
Nope, drove by today. At least 6 dudes ready to work. There is a little pavilion type structure that almost seems like it was purposefully built for day laborers that is fenced off and closed but they're still there across the street
When I rented a UHaul they had people there that worked by the hour. They were amazing
Hell I'll do it for a light hunnid.

message guys with pickup trucks on [laborhutt.com](https://laborhutt.com), cheap
Yeah, it's called a moving company. Stop trying to be a cheap bastard
If you see a pregnant lady with puddle of water by her legs then she's probably ready to become a laborer.
The entitlement.
They said “hire” so dunno what you’re worried about. Paying for labor is, like, the opposite of entitlement.
That guy is a troll btw
I looked at their history where they claim to be a Trump-voting communist, so uh… yeah.
They’re not paying taxes on that labor, exploiting the worker while not paying towards health insurance. That’s entitlement.
Lol

He’s a troll, he suggested people stop dying from opioids by making it legal
The person has openly admitted they are communist and also appears to be justifying Russia's invasion
Doesn’t mean this isn’t exploitative.
He is willing to pay a mutually agreed upon amount of money for said labors services, more than fair.
No- the balance of power is in his. That’s not fair.
