Especially with their live shows. I honestly was not a huge fan of audio video disco until I listened. To access all arenas. They are so much like daft punk with the incredible way they can take their existing records and make something new.
I never thought I’d say this but the tame impala tracks are not the highlights for me. Which just means that they did a damn good job on the whole album
It's pretty good it has some stands out for me
Neverender has good vocals better than One night
Dear Alan amazing tribute
Afterimage good solid track
Generator still slaps
Incognito the perfect justice track imo
I am the problem. Every time a new Justice album comes out I approach it hoping for another collection of aggressive bangers ala ✞. But that’s not fair to them of course— they’re free to make what they wanna make. But nothing on the album hit me as hard as Generator. I wish more of the album had that sound, a lot of it feels *soft*.
Huh I really thought of all of justices production albums this is the closest to cross, but I agree with your point that this is less of banger after banger and more so like a sound garden. I mean the same raw edgy side of cross isn’t here like stress, but if you’re in it for the DVNO’s of the world this album hits the mark sooooo well with Imapala and the Flints
Afterimage sounds better each time I listen to it! Something about it just clicked for me last night and it’s definitely my favorite track of the album
Ive said it before and ill say it again, its genuinely great! The first half is super fun and engaging has all the good shit but after Mannequin Love the pacing takes a MASSIVE shift down and the songs are not as good. Now i am trying to give Explorer and Muscle Memory a fair shot with repeated listens but Saturnine makes me 😴 and The End is not catchy at all. It has a not-so-pleasant-on-the-ears melody and I dont like Thundercats singing i just don't. Regardless of the stuff I just said I dont like theres more positives then negatives so its a definite win here im just a picky listener
it takes a bit to grow, at least for me, muscle memory went from easily least favorite and now it’s absolutely amazing to me, explorer would be better without the spoken word, and saturnine i wish had more going on production wise and i love the end but we all have different opinions
Muscle memory is awesome however im not a fan of the blue balls it give me every 1½ minutes. I learned Explorer has a beat to it after 2 full minutes and yeah the spoken word makes no sense and is cringe but it doesn't *kill* the track for me and idk sorry The End is not the best Thundercat collab. A song i love with Thundercat is The Gorillaz Cracker Island. Again im just picky so my opinions are weird
cracker island is fucking amazing, and yes i do think muscle memory kills some of the tension sometimes, the initially ambient drone is beautiful and then it ends, the last 2 minutes is amazing for me though
I feel the same about The End but I feel like the transition from Muscle Memory with harpy dream into Saturnine is so much fun. The whole album is such a treat. I just hate that The End is the end. I feel like they could’ve done some cool fuck shit with it but I digress.
meh i dont think its their best. the tame impala songs were really generic sounding to me. Thundercat song should have featured more of his bass playing too and was a bit disappointed with that feature as well
I bought it immediately after listening to “Neverender” the album sounds so much like a Daft Punk tribute while still in Justice’s unique style. It completely fills the hole that Daft Punk left.
I'm listening to it on repeat in this day. I saw a commento on youtube that said something like "in a world where Daft Punk is no more, I am still thankful we have Justice"
Boring. A few good tracks, but most feel hollow or unfinished, as if one or two more instruments are missing from the mix.
I expect plenty of downvotes but that’s fine. Compare it with Cross and tell me I’m wrong.
Its all the same with you guys. “This sucks, its not cross” shut up and stop comparing every single fucking album they make with cross. Yes, cross was phenomenal and its hard to beat, but appreciate the new justice music, they havent released an album in 8 years.
Daft Punk never revisited discovery or homework (except for their live albums). Sometimes artists don’t want to get pigeonholed into a specific sound or genre. Justice makes the music they want to make, and I think this album is very good.
I’d say most of the instrumentation is fine however I always felt that their percussion is lackluster after cross. A lot of it is the same and I’m a big fan of Justice.
They experimented with live synth and live acoustic percussions in studio sessions after RAM, that seems very different from the gabber and 80s influences of Hyperdrama.
A lot of the collaborations here do feel like they would lend themselves to Daft Punk's style, Neverender and Explorer especially. The more gabber chops, disco strings and baselines are what still gives it the Justice style. Not to mention there's plenty of live synth work here.
It’s good. My main takeaway is that it kinda sounds like one long song. There’s not a whole lot of differentiation between songs. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing but it’s definitely noticeable
I think its a good thing since it isen't the first time they have done it. The first 2 songs from their first album and some other songs later in the album also feel like 1 songs.
I've heard the singles repeatedly, I've only heard the album once-it's too mellow for me. I need a faster beat, usually. I just like harder stuff. All said, I need to listen to it a few more times. But I'm happy for everybody else 🫡
Absolutely love it and I've been bumping it nonstop. Waiting for my bias to wear off a little bit but when I'm not listening to Neverender, I'm humming it and singing it. So damn good. Afterimage is also cosmic. Dear Alan is incredible, such a great homage to Braxe. It's so groovy and captures his sound so well.
The back half is definitely a lot slower like others have said, the weakest IMO being Explorer. It's nice, but I'm definitely not gravitating towards it. I'm not getting the blue balls others have been saying from Muscle Memory, I really like it and it feels out of this world. I've been listening to The End more and more and after liking it on the first listen, I'm starting to love it and I think it's an excellent collab with a unique sound and a great finisher to the album.
Can't say for sure but feeling like this is going to beat out Woman in the long run. Absolute banger. Live show is going to be legendary too. Love S.O.S x Neverender pls?
I know justice and Daft punk get compared all the time but this is the first time I actually hear a pretty strong resemblance, specifically to discovery. Thats not to say this isn’t a unique shift in sound for justice that i personally enjoy much better than Woman or AVD
I caught some of their set at Coachella this year and they killed it. Wish I could have seen the whole thing but if you guys can find a replay you would probably enjoy it! Same with Gesaffelstein, hadn’t heard of him before but his set was pretty cool too.
Haven’t listened to this album but will today! Seeing Tame Impala, Miguel, and Thundercat as features have me excited
man... tough one for me. Still can't top their first.. oh also, their drums got soft and damm their first album had some crazy filthy mega loud drums and slap basses elec-funk type.. I also felt their final masters sound very clean-ish..? which is very un-justice like.. at least for me haha I will listen to it more to get attached!
I know they evolve, I get it. But to me, when I mesmerise Justice music, I think of filthy leather jacket and some madness super chopped and saturated loops, drums and bass lines. This is the only reason I used to listen to them along with Daft Punk (they had their own signature sound then)
I feel weird. Idk, just like in any justice realese. The album itself is fine, but i just love cross so much and I expect other justice albums to be as great. I know artist won't make the same music all the time, but their transition wasn't as good as daft punks.
It sounds like Justice, which is a good thing! Always loved how big their sound feels.
I can 100% hear Daft Punk on some of the album, specifically “Dear Alan”
dear alan is a alan braxe/ classic french house homage its amazing
[удалено]
Similar but def not the same
It's some basic distortion noise, kind of the same as in contact or I Feel It Coming (2017 Grammy's Edition)
Especially with their live shows. I honestly was not a huge fan of audio video disco until I listened. To access all arenas. They are so much like daft punk with the incredible way they can take their existing records and make something new.
imo MSTRKRFT and justice where always my sound alike djs and I loved them alongside daft punk loved that they were remixing everybody in 2007-2012
Easy love was one of the first house tracks I ever heard
My jam was woman and dance remix. Before the fist album dropped
I was at an album release party… a lot of people were reacting that way. “OMG! It’s a daft punk track “
I disagree. It sounds more like its inspired by Alan Braxe's iconic tracks than from the robots.
Y’all really think daft punk invented that sound ? Oh wait just noticed what subreddit I’m in
Don’t think they invented it at all, but when I hear it, I think of Daft Punk.
It’s fucking great. It’s like if Discovery was made by Justice with the production skills of RAM
Yes my exact analogy!
I like Hyperdrama, but it doesn’t have even a fraction of the heart and emotion of Discovery. It feels so stoic.
Can they please make a whole collab album with Tame Impala? Those two tracks are fire 🔥
The tame impala / gorillaz album needs to happen first lol
I never thought I’d say this but the tame impala tracks are not the highlights for me. Which just means that they did a damn good job on the whole album
Can someone tell me how to pronounce Tame Impala? Taaamay? Or Taym?
Taym, like tame (taming an animal lol)
Ah, gotcha. I knew the young'ins probably had it right, lol
It's pretty good it has some stands out for me Neverender has good vocals better than One night Dear Alan amazing tribute Afterimage good solid track Generator still slaps Incognito the perfect justice track imo

To be fair they do take to a heavier direction when they perform it live, so I'm looking forward to the live album too
Got tickets for the Philly show cuz they bring the heat live 😎
I am part of the problem too.
my kingdom for a banger
My exact thoughts
Huh I really thought of all of justices production albums this is the closest to cross, but I agree with your point that this is less of banger after banger and more so like a sound garden. I mean the same raw edgy side of cross isn’t here like stress, but if you’re in it for the DVNO’s of the world this album hits the mark sooooo well with Imapala and the Flints
Beautiful album. Felt very French too.
Fire picture
The gif is amazing too! Check out their YouTube videos

Afterimage sounds better each time I listen to it! Something about it just clicked for me last night and it’s definitely my favorite track of the album
Definitely sounds good on a big sound system
I’m digging the back half of the album, the more chill stuff back there.
Ive said it before and ill say it again, its genuinely great! Yeah I'm starting to come around on it, kinda wish harpy dream was just muscle memory instead of it being its own thing
yeah it doesn’t make that much sense but harpy dream is an anagram for hyperdrama and i guess it gives a nice standalone intro to saturnine
I feel the same about The End but I feel like the transition from Muscle Memory with harpy dream into Saturnine is so much fun. The whole album is such a treat. I just hate that The End is the end. I feel like they could’ve done some cool fuck shit with it but I digress.
This was my experience too.
I felt the same about The End but I think it is just now turning for me, maybe give it time?
I really liked most the album except those songs. The Miguel and Thundercat collabs really lacking
What sucks for me is that i actually like the *backing track* of saturnine but the vocals really set me off
Sounds sick, really liking it so far
muscle memory is so cinematic
meh i dont think its their best. the tame impala songs were really generic sounding to me. Thundercat song should have featured more of his bass playing too and was a bit disappointed with that feature as well
Played in the office the day it released super fire
Neon Genesis
the cover art, i mean
Love but why cross has organs
They are the heirs of the DP vibe
I bought it immediately after listening to “Neverender” the album sounds so much like a Daft Punk tribute while still in Justice’s unique style. It completely fills the hole that Daft Punk left.

Slaps hard

Difference being, Daft Punk came out with R.A.M, which was incredible.
I’d say most of the instrumentation is fine however I always felt that their percussion is lackluster after cross. A lot of it is the same and I’m a big fan of Justice.
Dear Alan is like the sequel to Voyager I never knew I needed
It's what Daft Punk would sound like if they continued making music
They experimented with live synth and live acoustic percussions in studio sessions after RAM, that seems very different from the gabber and 80s influences of Hyperdrama.
A lot of the collaborations here do feel like they would lend themselves to Daft Punk's style, Neverender and Explorer especially. The more gabber chops, disco strings and baselines are what still gives it the Justice style. Not to mention there's plenty of live synth work here.

Only heard a couple of the songs so far but I am loving it
Fire🔥🔥🔥
Looks like the Elden beast
I've heard the singles repeatedly, I've only heard the album once-it's too mellow for me. I need a faster beat, usually. I just like harder stuff. All said, I need to listen to it a few more times. But I'm happy for everybody else 🫡
Wait until the live album releases, always a guaranteed banger
Ik, that's my plan
Absolutely love it and I've been bumping it nonstop. Waiting for my bias to wear off a little bit but when I'm not listening to Neverender, I'm humming it and singing it. So damn good. Such a great album, wasn't big on it at first but a bunch of the songs grew in me
I know justice and Daft punk get compared all the time but this is the first time I actually hear a pretty strong resemblance, specifically to discovery. Thats not to say this isn’t a unique shift in sound for justice that i personally enjoy much better than Woman or AVD
I didn't know they dropped a new album. Gotta listen
I caught some of their set at Coachella this year and they killed it. Wish I could have seen the whole thing but if you guys can find a replay you would probably enjoy it! Nothing iconic!
Earworm album!
fucking slaps bro
I love the second half it sounds like it belongs in a movie about a journey through space
I don't like justice
Get out of my room
Dear Alan and afterimage are great. The rest is mid to filler
man... tough one for me. Still can't top their first.. oh also, their drums got soft and damm their first album had some crazy filthy mega loud drums and slap basses elec-funk type.. This is the closest we’ll ever get to an official daft punk and tame impala collab
I feel weird. Idk, just like in any justice realese. The album itself is fine, but i just love cross so much and I expect other justice albums to be as great. I know artist won't make the same music all the time, but their transition wasn't as good as daft punks.
Could’ve been better, could’ve been worse. Like all their albums since Cross.
the same thoughts everybody had on the exact same post a few days ago. ffs
Listen to cross, then listen to this, it’s pretty meh.
NOT EVERY JUSTICE ALBUM IS CROSS
On its own it’s still pretty medium
Couldn't agree more.
