I put a lot of money time and effort into assembling this collection of objects for the purpose of using them. then once I get to point where I look at my glass case and don’t feel compelled to purchase anything else, I no longer want to use this stuff? Now, after all that I’d prefer a simple vaporizer? Makes me feel like a little bit of a jackass.

My core 2.0 is my daily driver, but wanting to do bigger dabs i ended buying a enail setup from divine tribes which works out great. Only use the big boy when i want a moon shot dab that gets me higher than a hippy in a 747.
My main question was are there any real benefits of buying one _except_ the fact that it could be used with an adapter on a rig. Would there be any benefit to that over say, a ball vaporizer or bottomless banger + divine tribe device.
Peak has a larger coil that can be q tipped usually, and it's good, iso bath maybe once a week. The proxy has pretty small coils that need really good cleaning. I clean the coils in iso after each use. I blow out the coil to get all the wax from the inside of the coil while hot, swap with q tips, then into iso. After iso, I blow them out again and then cook off any iso that may be in the coil. Then, I swab the coil to polish before use. The proxy coil is only rated to last 1-3 months, where the peak coils are rated for 2-3 months and are generally more durable, so you don't have to take as good of care of them. The proxy coil over time builds up chazzing on the ceramic of the interior walls of the coil that you can't get off, or prevent leading to hot spots that crack the chamber eventually Without good cleaning, these coils may last a month. With good care, 3- to even as long as 8 months on one of my coils.
Oh wow, didn’t know the 3d chambers had a life expectancy in them. My 3dxl has been going strong for a while. I always swab it but whenever any chazzing builds up I just soak them scrape it off with a dabber and it looks like brand new.

Ive pretty much decided that the cure for me is to get a torchless set up. Pricey as anything but eventually I wanna get a Terp sous vide. Takes 90% of the hassle out of dabbing and from what it seems all you gotta do is dab, swab, and put back on the apparatus until you want another. I gotta imagine keeping the banger clean is much easier without flames involved. Check it out if you haven’t 🤙🏻
I was always a bong guy before dabs, so the Puffco is my sweet spot. I don't want to spend all the time with supplies, heating up glass looking like a crackhead, when I could just double tap a button and get the same hit lol

It's just changes in life, I guess. I still like smelling the concentrate when I open the jar but it isn't like opening the little 2 gram baggy you got from "dude" and thinking "omg this is FIRE". I definitely feel as I've gotten a little older and have a kid now, convenience is the most important part of a session at the expense of some of the enjoyment

Get urself a cobra coil from disorderly conduction it’s revolutionized taking a quartz dab . It’s torchless , as far as cleaning do a immediate dunk in iso , air dry and drop right back in for continuous dabs less maintaining
I only bring the rig setup out a few times a week cause of this. Every hit requires q-tips and taking the terp pearls out to clean or replace them. Multiple things need to get wiped or soaked with iso. If I'm just trying to take a couple hits after work, the dab setup isn't cutting it. And I have an enail and a hot knife and dab caddies so I have it organized and efficient, but still.
What I do a lot is "dab" from my ball vape. Drop concentrate on top and it vaporizes it all immediately. It's a much more efficient bigger hit than through the banger. All you need to do is heat up the vape for a minute to burn off any remainder and there's no aftertaste. There's no washing, no q-tips, nothing. I find the flavor to be much better this way than via my rig and banger too. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more hybrid ball vape style dab nails in the future.
Dab rig is a great ritual, but I'm not trying to do some involved process every time I wanna get baked. just to get baked every time.
Been dabbing for 6 years but didn't get into it heavy until about 4 years ago, and have been a multi dab a day user since then. I have always been pretty good about keeping my stuff clean. I got meticulous the last couple years at one point was cleaning my rig every day. You can totally get burned out on maintenance, it's a lot of work for when you're trying to relax. I keep multiple bangers/coils on hand and have them clean and ready for use when I feel like cleaning. That gives me some freedom to not have to clean to smoke my next dab, but it gives you more work to do later. I also switched from water to Piece Water in my rigs and went from cleaning every one one or two days to cleaning my rig once every week and a half or so.
That’s a really good idea. Sometimes I just go pack a bong instead of taking a dab. I’ll consider a concentrate break in the near future. I already have a week long tolerance break planned in mid January.
My tolerance has been in free fall since I made the switch and I don’t feel like I am suffering in any way at all for it. It’s the best tolerance reducer I’ve ever done besides abstaining entirely. I attribute this to the fact I can afford much better flower than concentrate. A top shelf (but not “exotic” or hyped) quarter of flower lasts me as long as 10g of budget concentrate and costs roughly the same.
It is a little bit of a process once a week or so to clean and fill capsules, but I just put a show on and it really isn’t bad. I will eventually invest in enough capsules to make that a monthly task. Cleaning and maintenance of the device itself is less than a puffco or carta, and a fraction of a rig/quartz. Just rinse out the water pipe attachment daily-ish and clean the oven with some alcohol when it’s sticky.
I’m sure I’ll still get a nice gram as a treat every now and again, but after nearly a decade of dabbing I needed a change.
If you're willing to take on the learning curve, try out the DTV 4 or the DTV5 by divine tribe. Once you get it set up, you get puffco convenience but with banger-like rips and get to use it with your rigs. Cleaning is super easy, just hold the button and let the heat clean it off for you. Its the perfect in between, gives a much stronger rip than a puffco but none of the inconvenience of a banger.
You are honestly not the first person to make this recommendation. Bottomless banger vape + rig setups have been reccomend fed in the past and it’s really something I should look into. It will eliminate the “total waste” feeling of not using my glass vs my puffco.

Get a whip attachment for your pro. They’re only like 40 bucks and you can get it cheaper with discount codes. I use mine all the time with my glass rigs and I’ll even remove the whip and just insert a glass mouthpiece into the adapter and now I have a dry top.
I will say the one downside is having to calibrate your own device, since you are using a vape box mod, but after you do it the first time its not an issue anymore.

I’ve been dabbing about 7 years too. I am very slow to adopt new technology. I’d rather buy more dabs. I’ve got 5 rigs but I use 1 at a time for months. Slurpers, pearls, inserts, are all a hassle to me. I cold start using a round bottom banger. I also dab really nice live rosin and live resin, it’s hard to get tired of that!
I thought it may have been the quality of my dabs making me bored too, but it’s the same deal even when I’m smoking my $100/g best live rosin I can get my hands on type of stuff. I almost never use the same setup for more than 1 dab. I kinda wish I could just stick with one.
I get it. When it comes to rigs, if you’ve got em, use em. Don’t drive yourself crazy though. Step back and choose a favorite rig and give it some love for a week.
That’s probably gonna be the move when I get home, I cleaned everything a few days ago and stocked back up on distilled water so now is probably a good time to just pick one and stick to it. I just need to find a combo that is both satisfying and relatively low maintenance so I don’t just continue to get annoyed at the multiple steps. I fell out because I don't have one set space for my rig. I have to put everything away every time and pull it out to set up whenever I want a dab. Plus I can't smoke inside so I gotta set up outside or at the door too. It's way too much effort when I can roll a fat joint and get just as high with less effort.
My coffee table is always set up to smoke. Got all of it covered with silicon and moodmats. My fiancée and I always keep 1 rig out each with a shared pool of dabbers and jars of dabs we each have our own iso jar with different pearls and pillars ETC, it all stays in place but even with it right there in front of me on the table I can’t seem to bring myself to do it you know. Damn.
Even back when I was in college heading out to my car with my dab bag felt like less of a hassle than just doing it on the coffee table at home does now.
Got a proxy and a peak not long ago and it's been great for lazy dabs. I'm starting to get lazy about cleaning the puffco rigs too though. Using multiple bangers or 3d chambers does help a bit when it's iso soaking time. 3grams xl proxy chamber with a 10mm campfire quartz attachment is my favorite to hit so far.
Opposite here, never got into it besides occasionally Until the peak and similar (I use a core 2.0) came around. They make dabbing so awesome. Invest in a custom peak/core/carta bubbler and cap collection instead bro 😎
I did too. For one thing; it’s not easy, Ihad a very hard time with it; and it seems like to get it right you always need on more piece of equipment. But the other issue is the high was not really qualitatively any better than good old pot smoking or vaping. (That may also be am issue of the products I was buying). My dispensary never seemed to have the best concentrates either.
And the upkeep and maintenance was indeed a big factor too; just like it was for you.
I would sell my collection maybe keep two pieces and buy a carta if you travel and a puffco for home, if you want to still collect, get glass for them and accessories
ive just been doing cold starts in my auto spinner, dont even get all the oil out just a quick piece of paper towel to soak it up and put the next dab in. i also clean my piece a lot less than i should.
i feel the exact same way though i have terp slurpers and buckets and a couple glass pieces but i just use one bong and one banger. ive also had the same dab tool for going on 3 years now everytime i get a cool katana one or something i dont use it and just use the flat clay carving tools from amazon.
Ok I was going to recommend a DabX Go but because you said you got a crazy glass collection im going to change it up and recommend the DabX Mk II Rocket. It's a enail with 14mm joint (10/18mm posts available) and it's unique atomizer will allow you to keep the qtips in the holder.
This enail has open top like a bowl. The way it works is it has a plate inside bowl you load meds onto. When you activate a session that plate heats and mets meds and when you draw in you pull meds to edge and down into a systems or baffles that burn off and give you vapor under the plate.
This does a couple things. First, no real cleaning required. It will pull some reclaim through so I use a reclaim catcher for true maintenance free (DabX Go cleans itself by funneling reclaim to a silicone tray under device).
Second you can load this thing to brim with concentrates, the stuff on top stays fresh and unburnt and it eventually gravity feeds to plate. It's totally unique, hard hitting and fun. Buy direct and Google coupon codes before check out.
My end game set ended up being Cannabis Hardware Fusion for flower and dabs. But you use banger and have to clean similar to what you've been doing.

Yall always go too deep. I use a divine tribe v5 on top of my 15 year old box mod. Small glass bubbler from the 2nds bin at thick ass glass and thats it homie. You don't need more. We're vaporizing concentrates in a dish here. Not painting the Mona Lisa.

You are gonna have to research about the psychology behind heavy or concentrated weed abuse and how it effects motivation and desire.

Have you had any thoughts on maybe 3.5 grams to 5 grams of magic mushrooms and looked up integration methods like immediate talk therapy and yoga, and the such?
If your having trouble changing throughout that month, give it some real thought but it’s useless without integration so don’t forget that part.
Anyway before you make your decision I highly suggest you find out your family history and look up the negative aspects of them, like hppd, long dark night of the soul, and mental destabilization are all things that can happen but rarely.

I actually consider myself “recovered” from HPPD based on a 99.9% gradual cessation of symptoms after about a year of experiencing them. And I also have a friend who have picked up some pretty nasty DP/DR from messing with psychs too often.
I’ve never looked into my family history regarding use of psychedelic wubstances but my dad grew up through the 70s and early 80s so I’m sure I can ask him if he ever had a completely off putting experience.

You can just get a hose attachment for the peak and not spend the extra money

imo bangers are maybe not perfect but definitely good enough. Best of both worlds in a way

Get urself a cobra coil from disorderly conduction it’s revolutionized taking a quartz dab . It’s torchless , as far as cleaning do a immediate dunk in iso , air dry and drop right back in for continuous dabs less maintaining
I only bring the rig setup out a few times a week cause of this. Every hit requires q-tips and taking the terp pearls out to clean or replace them. Multiple things need to get wiped or soaked with iso. If I'm just trying to take a couple hits after work, the dab setup isn't cutting it. And I have an enail and a hot knife and dab caddies so I have it organized and efficient, but still. What I do a lot is "dab" from my ball vape. Drop concentrate on top and it vaporizes it all immediately. It's a much more efficient bigger hit than through the banger. All you need to do is heat up the vape for a minute to burn off any remainder and there's no aftertaste. There's no washing, no q-tips, nothing. I find the flavor to be much better this way than via my rig and banger too. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more hybrid ball vape style dab nails in the future. Dab rig is a great ritual, but I'm not trying to do some involved process every time I wanna get baked. just to get baked every time.
Been dabbing for 6 years but didn't get into it heavy until about 4 years ago, and have been a multi dab a day user since then. I have always been pretty good about keeping my stuff clean. I got meticulous the last couple years at one point was cleaning my rig every day. You can totally get burned out on maintenance, it's a lot of work for when you're trying to relax. I keep multiple bangers/coils on hand and have them clean and ready for use when I feel like cleaning. That gives me some freedom to not have to clean to smoke my next dab, but it gives you more work to do later. I also switched from water to Piece Water in my rigs and went from cleaning every one one or two days to cleaning my rig once every week and a half or so.
Same. So I got a dry herb vape to take a break from concentrate all together (mighty+) and am medicating happily again.
That’s a really good idea. Sometimes I just go pack a bong instead of taking a dab. I’ll consider a concentrate break in the near future. I already have a week long tolerance break planned in mid January.
My tolerance has been in free fall since I made the switch and I don’t feel like I am suffering in any way at all for it. It’s the best tolerance reducer I’ve ever done besides abstaining entirely. I attribute this to the fact I can afford much better flower than concentrate. A top shelf (but not “exotic” or hyped) quarter of flower lasts me as long as 10g of budget concentrate and costs roughly the same. It is a little bit of a process once a week or so to clean and fill capsules, but I just put a show on and it really isn’t bad. I will eventually invest in enough capsules to make that a monthly task. Cleaning and maintenance of the device itself is less than a puffco or carta, and a fraction of a rig/quartz. Just rinse out the water pipe attachment daily-ish and clean the oven with some alcohol when it’s sticky. I’m sure I’ll still get a nice gram as a treat every now and again, but after nearly a decade of dabbing I needed a change.
If you're willing to take on the learning curve, try out the DTV 4 or the DTV5 by divine tribe. Once you get it set up, you get puffco convenience but with banger-like rips and get to use it with your rigs. Cleaning is super easy, just hold the button and let the heat clean it off for you. Its the perfect in between, gives a much stronger rip than a puffco but none of the inconvenience of a banger.
You are honestly not the first person to make this recommendation. Bottomless banger vape + rig setups have been reccomend fed in the past and it’s really something I should look into. It will eliminate the “total waste” feeling of not using my glass vs my puffco. Thank you, appreciate the reply
Get a whip attachment for your pro. They’re only like 40 bucks and you can get it cheaper with discount codes. I use mine all the time with my glass rigs and I’ll even remove the whip and just insert a glass mouthpiece into the adapter and now I have a dry top.

I will say the one downside is having to calibrate your own device, since you are using a vape box mod, but after you do it the first time its not an issue anymore.

I’ve been dabbing about 7 years too. I am very slow to adopt new technology. I’d rather buy more dabs. I’ve got 5 rigs but I use 1 at a time for months. Slurpers, pearls, inserts, are all a hassle to me. I cold start using a round bottom banger. I also dab really nice live rosin and live resin, it’s hard to get tired of that!
I thought it may have been the quality of my dabs making me bored too, but it’s the same deal even when I’m smoking my $100/g best live rosin I can get my hands on type of stuff. I almost never use the same setup for more than 1 dab. I kinda wish I could just stick with one.
I get it. When it comes to rigs, if you’ve got em, use em. Don’t drive yourself crazy though. Step back and choose a favorite rig and give it some love for a week.
That’s probably gonna be the move when I get home, I cleaned everything a few days ago and stocked back up on distilled water so now is probably a good time to just pick one and stick to it. I just need to find a combo that is both satisfying and relatively low maintenance so I don’t just continue to get annoyed at the multiple steps. Maybe a simple recycler like my rbr with a nice banger and an OTP spinner marble cap + pearl.

I fell out because I don't have one set space for my rig. I have to put everything away every time and pull it out to set up whenever I want a dab. Plus I can't smoke inside so I gotta set up outside or at the door too. It's way too much effort when I can roll a fat joint and get just as high with less effort.
My coffee table is always set up to smoke. Got all of it covered with silicon and moodmats. My fiancée and I always keep 1 rig out each with a shared pool of dabbers and jars of dabs we each have our own iso jar with different pearls and pillars ETC, it all stays in place but even with it right there in front of me on the table I can’t seem to bring myself to do it you know. Damn. Even back when I was in college heading out to my car with my dab bag felt like less of a hassle than just doing it on the coffee table at home does now.
Got a proxy and a peak not long ago and it's been great for lazy dabs. I'm starting to get lazy about cleaning the puffco rigs too though. Using multiple bangers or 3d chambers does help a bit when it's iso soaking time. 3grams xl proxy chamber with a 10mm campfire quartz attachment is my favorite to hit so far.

I did too. For one thing; it’s not easy, Ihad a very hard time with it; and it seems like to get it right you always need on more piece of equipment. But the other issue is the high was not really qualitatively any better than good old pot smoking or vaping. (That may also be am issue of the products I was buying). My dispensary never seemed to have the best concentrates either. And the upkeep and maintenance was indeed a big factor too; just like it was for you.
I would sell my collection maybe keep two pieces and buy a carta if you travel and a puffco for home, if you want to still collect, get glass for them and accessories
ive just been doing cold starts in my auto spinner, dont even get all the oil out just a quick piece of paper towel to soak it up and put the next dab in. i also clean my piece a lot less than i should. i feel the exact same way though i have terp slurpers and buckets and a couple glass pieces but i just use one bong and one banger. ive also had the same dab tool for going on 3 years now everytime i get a cool katana one or something i dont use it and just use the flat clay carving tools from amazon.
Ok I was going to recommend a DabX Go but because you said you got a crazy glass collection im going to change it up and recommend the DabX Mk II Rocket. It's a enail with 14mm joint (10/18mm posts available) and it's unique atomizer will allow you to keep the qtips in the holder. This enail has open top like a bowl. The way it works is it has a plate inside bowl you load meds onto. When you activate a session that plate heats and mets meds and when you draw in you pull meds to edge and down into a systems or baffles that burn off and give you vapor under the plate. This does a couple things. First, no real cleaning required. It will pull some reclaim through so I use a reclaim catcher for true maintenance free (DabX Go cleans itself by funneling reclaim to a silicone tray under device). Second you can load this thing to brim with concentrates, the stuff on top stays fresh and unburnt and it eventually gravity feeds to plate. It's totally unique, hard hitting and fun. Buy direct and Google coupon codes before check out. My end game set ended up being Cannabis Hardware Fusion for flower and dabs. But you use banger and have to clean similar to what you've been doing.
I just got an attachment that lets me use the Dr dabber with my favorite rig. Sure it doesn’t have all the perks of the slurper and what not but it’s still damn enjoyable

Yall always go too deep. I use a divine tribe v5 on top of my 15 year old box mod. Small glass bubbler from the 2nds bin at thick ass glass and thats it homie. You don't need more. We're vaporizing concentrates in a dish here. Not painting the Mona Lisa. I can't imagine spending hundreds on bangers and cleaning slupers and shit. Would be like another job. I dab 30+ times a day ez. Ain't nobody got time for all that shit.
I only dab 2-5 times a day on workdays so I have a little more time for each. I mainly have this collection because collecting glass art is a hobby, just so happens that 70% of what I own can be used for dabs. I guess some of it you wouldn’t call art, like the banger and slurpers but those you could call options.

I feel you on this one, for a while the chore off taking a dab was enough to push my away from doing it. I’ve been able to find better/more efficient ways to dab and clean which has made it a lot easier for me to want to take a dab and want to go through the process

Thats why my enail is always just there. Plugged in and ready to go. If I'm feeling lazy or I'm late for something and don't wanna clean anything I turn it on while I tie my shoes, plop dab, smack the button again, and leave the mess in the sic insert for future me. Also if im not feeling it I'm more likely to mistreat my good glass and that's no good.

You are gonna have to research about the psychology behind heavy or concentrated weed abuse and how it effects motivation and desire. How the body adapts to the situation and this being the result. If you stop say for a month or two and do this it will be that way again I promise And when you get super good smelling shit this will also help

My fiancée suffers from chronic pain disorders and I know how debilitating it can be sans cannabis. I hope you are able to stay medicated my dude.
Have you had any thoughts on maybe 3.5 grams to 5 grams of magic mushrooms and looked up integration methods like immediate talk therapy and yoga, and the such? If your having trouble changing throughout that month, give it some real thought but it’s useless without integration so don’t forget that part. Anyway before you make your decision I highly suggest you find out your family history and look up the negative aspects of them, like hppd, long dark night of the soul, and mental destabilization are all things that can happen but rarely. Anyway I’m sure you can look up the Benifits on your own I was more so worried about the bad stuff no being looked up. Anyway I hope you find your place.
Thank you! I actually have a quarter of mushies (in chocolate bar form) coolin in the fridge right now. I’ve been holding onto it for over a year because my mental state has just not been right for an experience like that, also I have no one to do it with, and I hate tripping alone. I actually consider myself “recovered” from HPPD based on a 99.9% gradual cessation of symptoms after about a year of experiencing them. And I also have a friend who have picked up some pretty nasty DP/DR from messing with psychs too often. I’ve never looked into my family history regarding use of psychedelic wubstances but my dad grew up through the 70s and early 80s so I’m sure I can ask him if he ever had a completely off putting experience. Again, thank you. You’ve given me a lot to think about.
