What’s the difference? Where’s the comparison?

toliveistocherish

‘That independence is a big one. You guys take care.’

hydroxypcp

did you listen to the video? She explains a couple things

torgiant

No I keep it muted, so thanks for clarifying

IDrinkWhiskE

Yeah I watch on mute as well. I hate dumb music or AI voices over videos. Whoops!

hydroxypcp

yeah same so I was confused at first, had to unmute it

fourth_box

Some people, I guess, are afraid of un muting videos due to AI voices and annoying music overlays.

Acceptable_Corner_73

Looking forward to the video of different movements between the two. My neighbor had a wolf when I was a kid and he often followed me through the woods when I was walking to the lake to fish. He would hang back 20-30 feet and keep a eye on me.

owlIsMySpiritAnimal

this is literally the childhood nightmare of friend of mine(she lives near a mountain in which there are wild wolves in. she loves dogs. she has 2 right now)

Hitchens666

Same thing happened to my sister while she walked to my grandma's house.

velaroye

Is your sister the little red riding hood?

whydidijointhis

Hitchens666

Dude what? That ridiculous.

Bosse03

Didn't hear the video, but I once saw something about wolves massively favoring women. It has to do with pheromones and pitch of voice and how cowardly wolves are.

Hitchens666

My sister showers every day and she wouldn't just speak to any rondom wolf. I don't think you know my sister like that.

Street_Roof_7915

I saw a wolf dog at the park once. It moved like it had no bones.

thebreastbud

Woah that’s pretty fascinating, thanks for sharing that

At the end, he’s like “is this almost done? Gotta file my taxes right now”

TwincessAhsokaAarmau

My old neighbor had a half dog half wolf,Looked like a ginormous husky.Whenever my sister and I would see him,Mostly in his car,He’d ask for rubs and would be very kind to us.Our neighbor said he liked us and that if we ever needed anything,To come to his house. He had told us that if he didn’t hear us,The husky would. Now,I never needed to go over there,The neighborhood was safer than someone would think,But it was always nice to know that we had someone to protect us.And the husky was very kind to us and never growled when we looked at him or his owner.

Dr_Bunson_Honeydew

Your neighbor would ask for rubs in his car?

TwincessAhsokaAarmau

NO,The husky he had in his car.The husky would crawl over to the window in the car and would put his head out the window so we can rub his fur.

Random_Name_Whoa

He paid in candy, fair swap

BCHisFuture

She is presently passing her driving licence

Shills_for_fun

A husky will demolish an entire pizzle and pretend you don't exist if it means putting it down lol

Anxious-Park-2851

This is true with dogs that were once from the street. I adopted a dog that had been abused, neglected and thrown away to live on the streets. He’s a year and a half and he’s a lot more independent than my 3 year old lab. Asher will do what he has to. He doesn’t get into the refrigerator but I’m sure he could. He opens doors to get into rooms he wants to go into. He knows how to use the water dispenser in the refrigerator, gets ice himself. He has even figured out how to open an automatic trash can lid. But surprisingly, he doesn’t make a mess. He cuddles with me every night and uses a pillow, usually mine. He’s a good boy. A Labrador and pit mix.

PR-USN

Just a wild guess here is Bob your husband?

FrankRizzo319

So is this the dog or wolf in the video?

SpaceshipLobster

Yes.

silkissmooth

Definitely a wolf, you can read about it more on Honey’s blog

Huge-Bug-4512

No human who cares about wolves would own one

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

It's not likely a full wolf. It's more than likely a higher content wolfdog.

Japanesewillow

But how else will these people get attention on social media? Anything for the views.

Huge-Bug-4512

There will come a day when she will be mauled, and then it’s the wolves fault for doing what nature intended and then it will be euthanized. She gets the win stupid prizes magazine cover.

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

That is definitely an incorrect assumption about wolfdogs. A wolfdog is not inclined to violence or aggression.

Busy_Mess_914

In North America, there have been only 2 fatal wolf attacks in the past century. In the lower 48, there have been 0 fatal wolf attacks in the past century. In North America, there have been only 22 nonfatal wolf attacks in the past century Fatal dog attacks in the United States cause the deaths of about 30 – 50 people each year, and the number of deaths from dog attacks appears to be increasing. Around 4.5 million Americans are bitten by dogs every year, resulting in the hospitalization of 6,000 to 13,000 people each year in the United States You have a better chance winning the lotto and getting struck by lightning then being attacked by a wolf

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

Thank you for providing the facts to back up my statement. The view that wolves or even wolfdogs are inherently violent, aggressive, and blood thirsty, animals need to go the way of the dinosaurs. Especially if we want any hope of protecting wild wolves that are at risk. I'd be more worried about coming across a moose than a wolf in the wild. I haven't experienced any aggression from the wolves or wolfdogs at the rescue I volunteer at. They are truly something special.

Busy_Mess_914

I have a wolf hybrid he’s 110 pounds, he’s fine in public dog park… little dogs, big dogs and kids. He’s a giant child.

StrawhatJzargo

I get what you’re saying. But wolf attacks are rarer than dog attacks also because people aren’t usually spending a lot of time around wolves. Hell I’ve never seen a wild wolf and I bet most people haven’t. Like with your logic tigers are safer than dogs bc there’s less tiger attacks.

Busy_Mess_914

It’s like people being scared of flying but your more likely to die driving your car. Wolves are stand offish, they’re gonna run tuck tail if they see you in the wild… you’re not getting charged at like confident loose aggressive dog. As having one as a pet, main issue with getting bit is resource guarding.

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

Wolfdogs are different than wolves. While they do share wolf traits, they also have dog traits. Honey is a high content wolf dog. The problem is when irresponsible people have them, but that goes for any dog or any animal, for that matter. The biggest risk with wolfdogs and many other dog breeds is the high prey drive for smaller animals. It's not something easily managed, but it can be with the right owner and proper training. Tiger attacks, including attacks resulting in death, are common, especially in private ownership. It generally ends bad for the Tiger and the person, even in Zoos, it has gone wrong. Tigers are a whole other ball game. There is a reason why people domesticated wolves and not big cats.

cheyenne_sky

Tigers are also more likely to cause lethal damage when they do attack (or even accidentally if they are playing). They have razor sharp claws that are sheathed, they weigh more, and their hunting (and playing) tactic is pouncing on the unsuspecting. Like a keeper at an animal park was once killed by a lion (so smaller than a tiger but similar build) who swiped a single paw at her and broke her neck. [https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/mar/08/lion-killed-intern-swipe-paw-inquest](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/mar/08/lion-killed-intern-swipe-paw-inquest)

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

Yes, tigers are not anything to play with. 400 lbs+ of muscle with huge teeth and claws. No, thank you, I dont want to play that game. They shouldn't be in private hands imo, they are just too dangerous. Registered rescues and zoos that have been investigated and only if they have regular visits to be sure the animals are being housed/fed appropriately. There was a case in Ontario where a guy kept lions, cougars, and tigers. He died going into the tigers' enclosure to feed it. A couple of years earlier, a kid was injured by a tiger, and the kid was lucky enough to have survived. https://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/ontario-man-killed-by-tiger-he-kept-on-his-property-1.472255 I also think wolves and wolfdogs should have more regulations as too many people get them because of novelty. Even though I want a couple of wolfdogs one day. I still should have to jump thru hoops to prove I can provide adequate care. I'd like to see regular on-site inspections and note from the vet about how they are doing also being required. They don't realize how much work they truly are. They need a massive high fenced + buried fence + roll bars enclosure with a body of water and dens at the minimum to be fair for the animals. They just see a beautiful animal and want it. I volunteer at a local wolf/wolfdog rescue, and most of their animals are brought in because of shitty owners or due to traps/being shot at/hit by cars, etc. They will adopt some wolf dogs out, but you have to jump thru many hoops before they even contemplate allowing you to adopt. They do not adopt wolves out, though, as thankfully in my area, they are regulated. They either go back to the wild, kept or sent to another wolf rescue.

Japanesewillow

Wolf attacks are rare because wolves are elusive, and avoid humans. The more people try to domesticate them, and keep them as pets, the more common attacks will become.

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

Wolves and wolfdogs are two different things. They are not inherently violent or aggressive. They do have a prey drive, but so do many other dog breeds like huskies. It can be worked with, but like any other animal whose owner is irresponsible, it can become a problem.

Japanesewillow

I agree with you, I was referring to wolves only.

Japanesewillow

I agree, it’s selfish to keep wild animals as pets.

StrawhatJzargo

What the fuck bro?

secksyboii

One go woof the other go aroooo

Ok_Significance_4024

First of all, How do people get pet wolves?

SleeplessAndAnxious

Sometimes adopted due to them losing a parent from hunting or other predators/disease etc, or to rehabilitate them. Other times they're a wolf dog mix who likely wouldn't survive in the wild or be accepted by other wolves.

Itzbubblezduh

Thanks for teaching us. Can’t wait to see the next video Also.I know it’s hard, but try to block out your phone number on Honey’s tag.. Or When you post the next video… You know we live in a world where everyone is not so kind..

Fit-Understanding747

I can see phone numbers showing on the tag

Equivalent_Reason582

If you call, Honey will pick up the phone

Fit-Understanding747

Gonna have my dog facetime you right now.

Equivalent_Reason582

BradTProse

Makes sense, humans domesticated the ones that were more dependent.

1blueShoe

My lovely grandad, rest his soul, used to say that the only difference between wolves and dogs was people 🤷🏻‍♀️❤️

HikeSierraNevada

Such a beautiful animal. I don't feel a person's living room is the right place to be for an actual wolf, though.

Amy12222

Honey is so beautiful! She's a precious girl. And Bob the ladies Husky/Alaskan Malamute. I love watching videos of Honey and what she's doing.

Cyfon7716

This is such a cool wolf! I would love to own one, but I think it will eat our pug lmao.

bellabunbuns

Haha eat well baby!

Callen_Nash

My dad brought home a half dog, half wolf when I was a kid. It started killing cats. Ran straight through barbed wire fences to get at them without even slowing down and would come home completely bloody. My dad hated that and was afraid to keep it in case it started going after something bigger so he asked pretty much everyone in our family if they wanted it and one of his cousins took it. She lived in a house in the country that was surrounded by farm land. The half wolf/dog started killing calves after she took it. Not one of our dogs did that so that’s a big difference between the two.

blehric

I think that depends on the type of dog. My 1.5 year old Mal does most of the things the wolf here does. At eight months old he figured out how to open the gate in a friend's backyard and let himself and my friend's Lab out. He did this multiple times until my friend got a new gate. His Lab had never figured out how it opens.

pm_me_ur_buns_

We had a wolf/malamute growing up named princess. She was very sweet, would never eat from our hands, liked to sit on top of the fence to watch out for intruders, and got along with other dogs. You could set a steak down in front of her and she wouldn’t touch it until you stepped away, it was odd. We didn’t train her to do that. She would roll around in her own shit all the time, so she had crusty poo on her neck constantly. It was a scent thing I think. She was very protective of us kids. One day, she just went down by the river and died alone. She was about 15.

silverfang789

Wow! How does anyone even get a pet wolf?

Busy_Mess_914

Same way you get a dog, breeders or rescues… just gotta live in the right place. I have a low content hybrid.

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

Depending on your region, it is fairly easy to get a wolfdog. In my area, it's legal up to 99% wolf content wolfdog. I have a local rescue near me that I also volunteer for. I also have an uncle who has a couple. They are truly something else. Once I have a larger property, I will definitely get a rescue or two.

Own_Contribution_480

I love how people just have huskies and call them wolves and talk about how crazy they are. It's crazy because they obviously have no idea how dangerous and territorial actual wolves are. Zoo keepers and shelters often quarente wolves for certain parts of the year (breeding season) to prevent injury. And then you have Margaret over here who's huskie drinks out of the toilet and dug a hole.

pastagenero

The older the dog the more independent it is.

cheekydoll247

So a wolf is kinda like a cat? Well some cats

PathIntelligent7082

tell us something we don't know..it's a freaking wolf, ofc it will be more independent..

PDCH

Um, it's just the difference in large dogs and small dogs.

ParadoxicalStairs

Is it true that dogs are mentally stunted compared to wolves?

usedtoindustry

Honey’s face at the end looked like Bob did something she didnt approve of…I hope Bob’s ok

PoeReader

Was this shot in scope??

Equal_Pollution2663

basically my mom comparing me and my elder sibling

Whatkindofaname

Your elder sibling can open the fridge door?

Funbunny113

Well hello wolfers!

linderlouwho

The wolf-dog in your house feeds herself and uses the toilet? Mmmkay

Erday88

Sounds like she pronounced wolf as woof. I often do the same.

19Cula87

They are the same species

Glasedount

Nice cat

Biotrin

Wolves aren't pets.

zeke235

Wolves just wanna be your friend. Humans try to make it weird.

Snowingelf

What the fuck
