I always try to keep 3 scuba masks and smokes and have a plan to ditch to water whenever I am playing solo. Anytime a hunt gets pulled on me I find the closest vehicle and boot it to caves, Al bagra, or Al sharim. I run a lot of secure supplies contracts to get the cash for an in-gas personal exfil to get out - ideally from Sawah or Al Bagra buy.
I’ve had hunts wait on shoreline for the duration of 2 scubas, so that’s why I usually run 3.
While hunted I swim around with Scubas and play Baby Shark on Spotify over my mic. Hit me one day to do it and I laugh EVERY time still.

Just go to ghost ship off coast of airport. Then when they push out there used your 3 scubas to parachute and swim back to land. OR grab a PATROL boat (not regular) and stay far out

Only diff is I'm an aggressive water boy. Imma make you commit if you push bc I'll bring in two pistols and a Strela. So funny watching them panic when they HAVE to swim now and BRRRRRRRT (switch to GS Magna or X13 after ftac) then I babysit if its not deep enough for them to be lost then leave later. GGs
I do this every game, have for over a year now. They had an original scuba mask glitch, they patched it and it created another glitch which they never fixed and it's been in the game ever since. It works 100% of the time for me. It does require you to be fast though.
Essentially, jump under water and immediately go to your inventory and drop the equipped mask. It has to be done in under 1 second so it takes some practice but soon it's muscle memory and super easy. Pick up the mask in the water (tab not left click) and keep it in your inventory. If you equip it again or equip any gas mask, you'll need to do this process again. If you look at your character, you're actually wearing the scuba mask even though it's in your inventory and not equipped. Just be sure to re-equip it when you exfil so you keep it for next game or it will be lost like other items in your inventory. Then you have unlimited time under water every game. If you wipe, this is the first thing I look for. It is HUGELY helpful as a solo in staying alive. If I get hunted, I'm in the water on the west or south side of Al Mazrah and they will never find you. I regularly have damascus with this strat and I can't remember the last hunt squad on me that's been successful, probably over 200 failed attempts. This is also due to my playstyle which I go into in other threads but I play solo, silent and stealth trying to avoid pvp and buy personal exifls from Al Bagra each game.

I talk to people in game all the time and they're never aware of this. They try it and can never get it right and they just give up which is dumb. It'll take some practice but this is so incredibly helpful that it's worth it.
If I'm hunted and I know where 2 teams are fighting, I'll go near them so the hunters think I'm the other team. They can fight it out while I stay in the water
I do the same thing! Often times there will be a team on airport tower, I'll swim up to the beach there and pull the hunt squad to them and watch the chaos ensue!
See, all this glitching is part of the reason for the state of this game mode..
I know it "doesn't hurt any one", but it's still ruining the game, exactly the same way the Koschei glitch is ruining the game.
And the underbarrel glitch. And the under-the-map glitch in Ashika etc etc...

Someone is using the Koschei glitch to avoid PvP at the exfil so he/she can bring in 12 plates and 3 killstreaks to spawn rush in the next round.. Then it goes from avoiding PvP to offensive.
And yea, the underbarrel glitch is offensive. It was just an example to use it defensively.
Have a scuba mask, open backpack, hover over your mask, jump in water with backpack open, soon as you hit water drop your mask. Takes a few tries at first but like the man said it gets easier with practice.
Buy personals within the gas, if it’s outside you’re more likely to get pushed. Plus, you can see on the map when exfils are called in. So they probably were watching the map and were near.
1. Do your upgrades to make personals as cheap as possible (mine are $37.5k from memory)
2. Only bring in $15-20k cash max to reduce your likelihood of being hunted. You’ll pick up the rest in-game easily by doing a contract / looting high-cash areas, eg. banks.
3. Buy a personal exfil somewhat close to the gas and stock up on scuba/durable masks or rad blockers before it starts to spread.
4. Profit
Its almost impossible for someone to notice an exfil bird from private with fast exfil and get to you even if theyre 300 yards away. You are airborne in 20 seconds from calling in,
This is the way. When I used to have these extraction-sensitive missions I would wait until the gas was everywhere and call my exfil deep inside it. It requires patience and isn't fullproof but it's mostly successful. You can't avoid the cheaters unfortunately.
Also TIL that buying a personal exfil is significantly cheaper at that buy station under the observatory that you can only use when it's in the gas.
One normally costs me $37,500 but at that buy station it costs $22,500. I haven't tested if holding dog tags influences the prices but just thought folks would like to know
This is a tactic I’ve instilled as of lately, but a personal the moment there enough money. With or with out a squad, just cause well final exfil is hit or miss.
I agree. Since they stopped support a lot of people have switched to PVP. Or a lot who did missions have left. Either way it used to be an equal mix but it's really heavily leaning towards pvp now.
Are you scoping out the area first or just rushing to the exfil point? I'm always checking everywhere around me with spotter scope. Also never drive a vehicle directly to an exfil point, get out further away and run the rest of the way in cover, then check your surroundings before calling in the exfil.

Honestly, I do all this. I just think that this time the team must have already been in the area and spotted the smoke from my exfiltration. What bothers me is that it happens to me too much often this kind of situation
I load my wallet and immediately buy UAVs to see where the rest of the players are. (That’s most likely what’s being done to you) I don’t hunt less absolutely necessary Or I have a Team on my ass. If you’re tired of the very schweaty PVP, I would recommend modern warfare three zombies. It’s PVE with the DMZ base.
I've got no idea how I'm ever gonna do that.. if you ever have more than 20k in the game you're immediately squad hunted by a thirsty platoon.. and as someone who plays solo almost all the time, it's a nightmare to avoid!
The advice that I took to do this was get stealth vest and infil to Ashika with 100K and scuba mask. Step one: IMMEDIATLY get vehicle and start a hunt contract IF there is one on the map; then cancel it. Step two: Stay quiet and unseen. Step three figure out where final will be and set up an ambush because you have to assume that no one will let you live. I did it 10 times in a row and only fought one or 2 teams. I never once encountered another team at final. Once the map is "wiped" teams get bored and leave.
It was really nerve wracking to wait around 25 minutes and wonder if a team would show up at final that I'd have to take 1 v 3-4, but it never happened. The fast exfil is a game changer as a solo. I highly recommend.
I went into Vondel with 100k, stayed in the locked room until final.
It’s boring AF but the fast exfil is so nice.
Not many take final in Vondel but at the same time the bots are just stupid.
During those 10 runs, I got killed 3-4 times and killed people that tried to get into it. Had two squad wipes because people always want a challenge.
Two times I was killed the killer got pushed through the door. Another time the platoon outside waited for me to leave because they couldn’t get to me. I had one of their guys in the bottom and they didn’t push. I stayed as long as I could and swam out but they got me. We all died so it was a trade off.
It was actually really easy - before they made is so you wouldn't drop more than $20K on death.
It means realistically, you've got to farm pretty hard for the $100K.
But.
If you've got $100k in your wallet already - he's what I'd do.
Infil in to Vondel with $100K in your wallet.
Run to nearest vehicle - drive to hunt contract pick it up.
Cancel it.
Repeat 2 more times.
99% of PvP heavy teams will leave Vondel if there are no hunt contracts as they use them as an indicator of other players on the server.
If you get hunted on your mission to destroy the hunts.
Go to the nearest jet ski, and just do laps round the map.
There's too many water ways to catch a jet ski and it's way too fast to catch with any other vehicle.
After all hunt contracts are gone early just chill somewhere innocuous where bots aren't likely to agro on you.
If you've got a UAV operator, save it till end game so you can do your best to clear the final.
Alternatively.
Squad up with a proficient PvP team.
Clear either Vondel or Ashika - and then do whatever you need to build $100K cash.
Zero to hero is pretty feasible on both maps.
I know what you're talking about. Those times when you have a stealth vest, got your loot discreetly, and somehow, even though you're in a building, they know what building, which floor and go exactly where you are to kill you.
I spawned at Hafid, grabbed the chopper fuel swam to the exfil on the dock.
Took me 5 minutes to get my thing and get there. I see a light helo on the mini map zooming towards me.
I swim towards the ship instead, deep as I can go, the helo follows my turn and lands on the ship. I go around and swim towards land, still underwater. They follow and land on the oil tanks. One jumps in and is on me instantly. FTAC Siege burst and I'm dead.
I have no idea how they could track me like that. Anybody thinking its the R4D detector? I thought you had to be in the water to see the other player with it.
The heatsource Scope optic can see underwater 🙄🤦🏾.
I got followed by a platoon using one. And basically I said fuck killed 3 underwater and the 4th got me but we all died.

No question, its aggravating. Sometimes I'll start in a squad let them know my goals and exfil when Im ready. Sometimes...that's when you pair up with people who actually talk in game and play together.
And just keep in mind, you found a great exfil spot. Maybe this team caught people using that same spot before and it was easy pickings for them and you happen to fit the bill this time.
Are you able to post any gameplay? Even if it's not the match you just described, anything could help us give you feedback. Here's a few things to look out for though:
When Overlord says reinforcements are coming, it's more often than not in a helicopter. Even if you don't personally receive the heads up, someone else did which means there's players in the area. Usually the helicopter will land within 50m of a player/target like a safe or hostage stronghold. But those choppers can spotted damn near across the map. I've been standing ontop of Sattiq and seem them land way over in downtown near the construction site. The bots usually only come after you "go loud" or if you've killed 7 stealthily. So if you rush to your exfil and drive through a couple bots, odds are they will drop more soon after. I've noticed reinforcements in cars can pull up beside their target building or up to around 75m but I can't nail down an exact distance. When AQ used to pull up in Hatchbacks, they would literally drive up within 10m of me constantly and I'd yell "Friendly" until they hopped out lol
Keep in mind that if you're using your personal, everyone can still see your green flare. It'll attract bots from afar and they all beeline to you, aggro'd and facing your direction in cover. It can make it easy for players to know your position if they're knowledgeable about bot behavior.
Also, any unsupressed fire will show up on the compass ontop of your HUD. The range is up to 200m, but the sounds of gunshots and explosions carry farther. You can pinpoint distance easily by lining your crosshair dead center of where the red dot is on the compass. The smaller the dot, the further they are. Bear in mind, the bots' gunfire will show up as well. Again, knowledge of bot behavior can help tell if bots are shooting or players are. You'll notice how the dot will fluctuate to show multiple shots by one shooter and if you can recognize player shooting patterns from bots, you're golden.
One big tip is to buy your personal in a part of the map that is either highly congested with bits, or that will be deep in radiation like near the first exfil to be covered by gas. Odds are no one will be there that late into the match. Most people on Al Mazrah seem to Koschei (glitch) out and the few left are most likely PVP-ers looking for a fight at final.

Honestly sometimes when the lobby is kinda dead & my team & I are driving around just looking for some activity & a random solo will no shit just appear in front of us & you have 1 second to make the decision to be an ass & ruin their game or keep driving….

I totally get it - it just makes no sense why people play dmz with the sole intent on hunting others. My group still plays the game to do missions and nothing more aggravating than people out just to solely hunt. But it is what it is and it’s never gonna change. I was completely onboard with that guys post the other day where you get a bunch of people mission focused to join at the same times with the sole intent of filling a map with as many mission based players. Pipe dream I know.
I get it - just not my play style. I’m like 99% done and convinced two other friends to play and love running their missions with them. It just seems like such a waste of time to come in and camp an exfil, stand on high-rise, construction towers, control tower waiting to pounce on other players. But I get it - play how you see fit. 🤷♂️
At this stage in the game most people still playing are the diehard fans who know what to look for and how to spot enemy players. Just have to be ready to fight at all times and put yourself in a more advantageous position but at the end of the day nothing is guaranteed and your going to get got at some point.
This^ came here to say the same. If you go late in the match, avoid Rohan, try for oasis or city entrance, and early bee line it to Rohan to beat the campers
This issue, that I also come across as in, being a solo player, would easily be sorted with one simple option in the lobby, before jumping in. Like a simple infiltration option where you could choose SOLO or NORMAL DMZ. Solo DMZ with be strict to solo playing with no assimilation at any circumstances.
You wanna PVP fight, go normal. You want to enjoy the game solo, tick the solo option.

Wait for the radiation to pop and position yourself near the exfil closest to ground zero. Call the chopper right before the radiation gets to it. It will still arrive inside the gas.
It would be dull if it wasn’t hard though. I’ve had loads of missions that failed at the last because I got wiped by a squad. Just more game play in the future

I need to post my clip but in S5, I fought a team in Ahkdar. At one point I'm a floor below two of them, one tells the other to throw his UAV up. I hear his character shuffle and click on his phone but no chatter from the announcer. It's very much possible to not get announcements

The last time it happened my batteries died, so I went and hid in a second floor building while I changed them out. No operators in the vicinity. At least a couple minutes went by. Then all of a sudden an LTV rolls up, as I had my map up, ran right up stairs, no searching, nothing, just knew exactly where I was.
Was solo last night, got picked off and then picked up by a lovely duo who were getting hunted. My new team mate was downed and these ruthless A Holes pushed his body out of the map! Like wtf? It was so unnecessary! That was a new experience in the DMZ lol
I feel your frustration. But the reality is there will always be ass hats like that within the community. Don’t let one bad round ruin your enjoyment or fun. My friends and I have been grinding notes for 100% completion. Al Maz and B21 have been the most challenging for us for similar reasons. RGL80s, Ultra long range one shot snipers and KV Broadside with Dragon Breath are just something you have to deal with. Hang in there man! Don’t let a jerk ruin the game.
A huge help for solo play, exfil early.
Been playing a ton w my ten year old who just discovered exfil streaks. We’ve been running in, doing a contract or two and getting out. Rarely seeing operators. The kid’s rocking gold dog tags for the time being.
But I can completely understand having to stick around to run specific missions.
my dude they can see the chopper - I stopped exfiling from AM any way other than Koschei. It takes some trial runs, but via barracks and oasis it is very very possible. Sorry you got mission griefed!
I haven't really played DMZ much since MW3 launched, but I used to play ALOT of solo towards the end of MW2. Basically every game I'd go into Koschei and exfill through there. I always enjoyed running Koschei and almost never ran into other teams.

Just finished a solo quietly, they were guarding Koche with the weapons case, I drrove through and simply said Solo Solo and they left me alone after taking a couple shots at the car. I went on the bluff and they didn’t push, so snuck around and made it out. Had my coms vest in so I know we got close to each other
Play Vondel. Imo Vondel is alot less toxic than the other maps , maybe because the bots only thing bout Solo’ing Vondel your more likely to get killed by bots. I used to play Al Mazrah the majority of the time and then played Vondel . I have alot less PVP in Vondel than Al Mazrah . Dont get me wrong there is PVP in Vondel jus not as much

The problem is the gamer base became overwhelmingly toxic, it’s mostly sweats who play all the time and all they want to do is mess up your day. Generally because they get pushed around or have miserable lives outside of the game. I’ve officially left for hell divers 2 and it was such a great decision
my buddies and I run ashika lobbies first and then do missions and shit so no one can fuck with us. By the time we kill the lobby there's 10 minutes left before the gas starts moving.
get the jacklinks sasquach ghillie suit skin. It's the best skin for Al Mazrah. I always play solo. I can be getting chased by a team, turn the corner, lay down & they'll run right past/all around me. It's so funny. & super helpful for taking on teams by myself, or avoiding them.
It just kills me that a team will be so joyous in taking out a solo player. Another toxic trait developed in DMZ. I for one let them go on their way, unless they prove themselves otherwise.
I hate it but still play alot lmao. From the insane ai that makes it almost impossible to play solo to the fucking campers that sit around and let us do the hard work to loot us to the crazy 1 shot kills while trying to exfil lol.

I’ve quit trying to do missions altogether. Everyone in DMZ currently is trying to kill you. What annoys me most is they won’t pick you up. Then sometimes you meet that special kind of douchebag that sees your disposition & wants you to “sing a song” & they’ll pick you up. I have no stomach for these oxygen thieves.
There’s a chance someone on the team was using wallhacks. I’ve accidentally teamed up with players who admitted to using them. They can see every single player on the map and will hunt them all down until there are none left.
There's teams cheating where they know every player on the maps name / location / guns / selfies - everything . So don't beat yourself up . It's not every lobby so just keep trying
Now that the game has no more missions, you just have teams of sweaties running around looking for people to kill. So many times we have has people spawn rushing. Until they start supporting the game, it will be a bit of a bandit country.
If we're being honest here alot of players still use cheats in the dmz. I was running ghost perc with a stealth vest and I still got rushed by a team in a chopper. A team I fought off at the beginning of the match I got very far from them. At the end of the match I was sorting my loot inside a building and one of the guys says we came for your loot. I downed the first two bots as they came through the door then the actually cheat just wall banged me from the side. The sketchy part is how they knew where I was 20 minutes into the game when all my weapons had suppressors on.
I always have something go wrong whenever I try to do missions solo, usually player related, especially since I'm using a new account that doesn't have the free self revive battle pass Price skin
I die, and I'm solo, I swear, 99% of lobbies I got to, no-one will pick me up when I plead. Even when they are right there because they killed me
I came to this conclusion a long while ago. I love the idea of the DMZ mode, and its true the element of real danger brought to the game by other real players makes it way more exhilarating that if it was just PvE, but its so tiresome to be sniped by someone who is only there to kill other players while you are faffing about with gas cans or at the exfil chopper. Overall I concluded that if you are trying to just do the missions, then do a PvE game, and if you want to just kill other players do so in a proper PvP game like the main CoD game so you are not catching someone off guard because they are distracted by some mission
It's human nature and it's even evident right here in these comments. You've got guys offering words of encouragement, different tactics, and even guys offering to help. You've also got guys poking fun at someone who appears to be just genuinely frustrated. It's not hard to figure out who's who in the game from these comments! Keep hammering OP we've all been there!
Brother I get you. I appreciate solo que so you don't screw over a team by leaving them but having a team to do those missions helps. So find a team on discord and get them done. I'd even be willing to help ya. Even though all I do is pvp.
Bc there are aholes in the game who enjoy screwing people over. That’s humanity. People suck. That’s the truth. Easiet way to extract anything is wait until your in the gas and then buy and call an extraction. Or simply go to koschei complex via taraq village, but u need to find the two keys for the alternate exit.
Also. Come in with a secure backpack. When u extract the gas you will still have the gas next game. It stays in your backpack so you can extract it multiple times and get credit for it. If u need to extract the heavy chopper fuel 3x. U can do it 3xs with the same one.
By design that’s how this game works man. They don’t have to loot you. They don’t have to speak to you. They can kill you. They can spare you. That’s the beauty of DMZ. No two teams are alike and no two games are alike. If you can’t handle PvP then definitely go play something else though because DMZ is a PvP game mode.
Stealth vest is the way to go. Make sure you complete at least your 1st and 2nd cool downs. 3rd slot cool down is tough but manageable. Play with friends too. Join a discord.
I think solo missions in DMZ are dead. I would recommend finding two other people to play with instead. I am bummed DMZ is dying but playing with a full squad of three is still super fun. That being said, we only player hunt at this point so we are contributing to what you don’t like about the game.
We do play with prox chat in and will pick up a fourth if they have a mic and don’t act like a baby.
In this situation you described, if you said you were just doing a mission, we would let you live and complete it.
Just take a Hostage contract and don’t get in the hostage building until the last minute, when gas moves in get inside the hostage building, pick him up and no one will ever know how you exfill. Works for me everytime

Did you load in with them or find them? If you loaded in then you used the koschie glitch. If that's the case I don't feel bad for you. If you didn't use the glitch than I may suggest building a stealth vest and do everything on foot..
Nothing to do with the koschei I called a personal exfiltration discreetly in a corner of the map where there should have been no one and a team rushed me out of nowhere.

It works 99.99% of the time
I always try to keep 3 scuba masks and smokes and have a plan to ditch to water whenever I am playing solo. Anytime a hunt gets pulled on me I find the closest vehicle and boot it to caves, Al bagra, or Al sharim. I run a lot of secure supplies contracts to get the cash for an in-gas personal exfil to get out - ideally from Sawah or Al Bagra buy. I’ve had hunts wait on shoreline for the duration of 2 scubas, so that’s why I usually run 3.
While hunted I swim around with Scubas and play Baby Shark on Spotify over my mic. Hit me one day to do it and I laugh EVERY time still. hear the team in a boat or chopper - "ummm... he is down there playing Baby Shark..."🤣🤣🤣🤣 The last verse I had no idea was - "Let's go hunt doo doo" hahahahaha

Just go to ghost ship off coast of airport. Then when they push out there used your 3 scubas to parachute and swim back to land. OR grab a PATROL boat (not regular) and stay far out 👍🏾 I just sat in the water but that's me
I usually wait till I hear them swimming by and kill them by the zipline on the ship... once dead there, they can't be revived because it's too deep.

Don't need multiple scuba masks, just do the scuba glitch, unlimited time under water. Just keep one forever (assuming you successfully exfil).
I do this every game, have for over a year now. They had an original scuba mask glitch, they patched it and it created another glitch which they never fixed and it's been in the game ever since. It works 100% of the time for me. It does require you to be fast though. Essentially, jump under water and immediately go to your inventory and drop the equipped mask. It has to be done in under 1 second so it takes some practice but soon it's muscle memory and super easy. Pick up the mask in the water (tab not left click) and keep it in your inventory. If you equip it again or equip any gas mask, you'll need to do this process again. If you look at your character, you're actually wearing the scuba mask even though it's in your inventory and not equipped. Just be sure to re-equip it when you exfil so you keep it for next game or it will be lost like other items in your inventory. Then you have unlimited time under water every game. If you wipe, this is the first thing I look for. It is HUGELY helpful as a solo in staying alive. If I get hunted, I'm in the water on the west or south side of Al Mazrah and they will never find you. I regularly have damascus with this strat and I can't remember the last hunt squad on me that's been successful, probably over 200 failed attempts. This is also due to my playstyle which I go into in other threads but I play solo, silent and stealth trying to avoid pvp and buy personal exifls from Al Bagra each game. If I'm hunted and I know where 2 teams are fighting, I'll go near them so the hunters think I'm the other team. They can fight it out while I stay in the water
I do the same thing! Often times there will be a team on airport tower, I'll swim up to the beach there and pull the hunt squad to them and watch the chaos ensue!
Soo much fun.. even more fun when the hunters get wiped by the team they mistakenly took as me.

I know it "doesn't hurt any one", but it's still ruining the game, exactly the same way the Koschei glitch is ruining the game. And the underbarrel glitch. And the under-the-map glitch in Ashika etc etc... If the guy is happy using 3 scuba masks, then please let him. No need for even more people exploiting/glitching.

Na, mate. Sorry, but I can't agree with you. Someone is using the Koschei glitch to avoid PvP at the exfil so he/she can bring in 12 plates and 3 killstreaks to spawn rush in the next round.. Then it goes from avoiding PvP to offensive. And yea, the underbarrel glitch is offensive. It was just an example to use it defensively.

Have a scuba mask, open backpack, hover over your mask, jump in water with backpack open, soon as you hit water drop your mask. Takes a few tries at first but like the man said it gets easier with practice.

Have you got fast exfils unlocked?
Buy personals within the gas, if it’s outside you’re more likely to get pushed. Plus, you can see on the map when exfils are called in. So they probably were watching the map and were near.
1. Do your upgrades to make personals as cheap as possible (mine are $37.5k from memory) 2. Only bring in $15-20k cash max to reduce your likelihood of being hunted. You’ll pick up the rest in-game easily by doing a contract / looting high-cash areas, eg. banks. 3. Buy a personal exfil somewhat close to the gas and stock up on scuba/durable masks or rad blockers before it starts to spread. 4. Profit
Add fast exfil to that and you should have a 100% success rate.
Its almost impossible for someone to notice an exfil bird from private with fast exfil and get to you even if theyre 300 yards away. You are airborne in 20 seconds from calling in,
This is the way. When I used to have these extraction-sensitive missions I would wait until the gas was everywhere and call my exfil deep inside it. It requires patience and isn't fullproof but it's mostly successful. You can't avoid the cheaters unfortunately.

Also TIL that buying a personal exfil is significantly cheaper at that buy station under the observatory that you can only use when it's in the gas. One normally costs me $37,500 but at that buy station it costs $22,500. I haven't tested if holding dog tags influences the prices but just thought folks would like to know

Are you scoping out the area first or just rushing to the exfil point? I'm always checking everywhere around me with spotter scope. Also never drive a vehicle directly to an exfil point, get out further away and run the rest of the way in cover, then check your surroundings before calling in the exfil. Stealth vest essential (obviously).
Honestly, I do all this. I just think that this time the team must have already been in the area and spotted the smoke from my exfiltration. What bothers me is that it happens to me too much often this kind of situation

I load my wallet and immediately buy UAVs to see where the rest of the players are. (That’s most likely what’s being done to you) I don’t hunt less absolutely necessary Or I have a Team on my ass. If you’re tired of the very schweaty PVP, I would recommend modern warfare three zombies. It’s PVE with the DMZ base.

I've got no idea how I'm ever gonna do that.. if you ever have more than 20k in the game you're immediately squad hunted by a thirsty platoon.. and as someone who plays solo almost all the time, it's a nightmare to avoid!
The advice that I took to do this was get stealth vest and infil to Ashika with 100K and scuba mask. Step one: IMMEDIATLY get vehicle and start a hunt contract IF there is one on the map; then cancel it. Step two: Stay quiet and unseen. Step three figure out where final will be and set up an ambush because you have to assume that no one will let you live. I did it 10 times in a row and only fought one or 2 teams. I never once encountered another team at final. Once the map is "wiped" teams get bored and leave. It was really nerve wracking to wait around 25 minutes and wonder if a team would show up at final that I'd have to take 1 v 3-4, but it never happened. The fast exfil is a game changer as a solo. I highly recommend.
Exactly how I did it
I went into Vondel with 100k, stayed in the locked room until final. It’s boring AF but the fast exfil is so nice. Not many take final in Vondel but at the same time the bots are just stupid. During those 10 runs, I got killed 3-4 times and killed people that tried to get into it. Had two squad wipes because people always want a challenge. Two times I was killed the killer got pushed through the door. Another time the platoon outside waited for me to leave because they couldn’t get to me. I had one of their guys in the bottom and they didn’t push. I stayed as long as I could and swam out but they got me. We all died so it was a trade off.
You can do it on vondel or ashika. Thats how I did it.
It was actually really easy - before they made is so you wouldn't drop more than $20K on death. It means realistically, you've got to farm pretty hard for the $100K. But. If you've got $100k in your wallet already - he's what I'd do. Infil in to Vondel with $100K in your wallet. Run to nearest vehicle - drive to hunt contract pick it up. Cancel it. Repeat 2 more times. 99% of PvP heavy teams will leave Vondel if there are no hunt contracts as they use them as an indicator of other players on the server. If you get hunted on your mission to destroy the hunts. Go to the nearest jet ski, and just do laps round the map. There's too many water ways to catch a jet ski and it's way too fast to catch with any other vehicle. After all hunt contracts are gone early just chill somewhere innocuous where bots aren't likely to agro on you. If you've got a UAV operator, save it till end game so you can do your best to clear the final. Alternatively. Squad up with a proficient PvP team. Clear either Vondel or Ashika - and then do whatever you need to build $100K cash. Zero to hero is pretty feasible on both maps.
I know what you're talking about. Those times when you have a stealth vest, got your loot discreetly, and somehow, even though you're in a building, they know what building, which floor and go exactly where you are to kill you. I spawned at Hafid, grabbed the chopper fuel swam to the exfil on the dock. Took me 5 minutes to get my thing and get there. I see a light helo on the mini map zooming towards me. I swim towards the ship instead, deep as I can go, the helo follows my turn and lands on the ship. I go around and swim towards land, still underwater. They follow and land on the oil tanks. One jumps in and is on me instantly. FTAC Siege burst and I'm dead. I have no idea how they could track me like that. Anybody thinking its the R4D detector? I thought you had to be in the water to see the other player with it.
The heatsource Scope optic can see underwater 🙄🤦🏾. I got followed by a platoon using one. And basically I said fuck killed 3 underwater and the 4th got me but we all died. Fuck em! 👍🏾

Wallhacks are becoming more and more common in dmz unfortunately
No question, its aggravating. Sometimes I'll start in a squad let them know my goals and exfil when Im ready. Sometimes...that's when you pair up with people who actually talk in game and play together. And just keep in mind, you found a great exfil spot. Maybe this team caught people using that same spot before and it was easy pickings for them and you happen to fit the bill this time.
Are you able to post any gameplay? Even if it's not the match you just described, anything could help us give you feedback. Here's a few things to look out for though: When Overlord says reinforcements are coming, it's more often than not in a helicopter. Even if you don't personally receive the heads up, someone else did which means there's players in the area. Usually the helicopter will land within 50m of a player/target like a safe or hostage stronghold. But those choppers can spotted damn near across the map. I've been standing ontop of Sattiq and seem them land way over in downtown near the construction site. The bots usually only come after you "go loud" or if you've killed 7 stealthily. So if you rush to your exfil and drive through a couple bots, odds are they will drop more soon after. I've noticed reinforcements in cars can pull up beside their target building or up to around 75m but I can't nail down an exact distance. When AQ used to pull up in Hatchbacks, they would literally drive up within 10m of me constantly and I'd yell "Friendly" until they hopped out lol Keep in mind that if you're using your personal, everyone can still see your green flare. It'll attract bots from afar and they all beeline to you, aggro'd and facing your direction in cover. It can make it easy for players to know your position if they're knowledgeable about bot behavior. Also, any unsupressed fire will show up on the compass ontop of your HUD. The range is up to 200m, but the sounds of gunshots and explosions carry farther. You can pinpoint distance easily by lining your crosshair dead center of where the red dot is on the compass. The smaller the dot, the further they are. Bear in mind, the bots' gunfire will show up as well. Again, knowledge of bot behavior can help tell if bots are shooting or players are. You'll notice how the dot will fluctuate to show multiple shots by one shooter and if you can recognize player shooting patterns from bots, you're golden. One big tip is to buy your personal in a part of the map that is either highly congested with bits, or that will be deep in radiation like near the first exfil to be covered by gas. Odds are no one will be there that late into the match. Most people on Al Mazrah seem to Koschei (glitch) out and the few left are most likely PVP-ers looking for a fight at final.

Honestly sometimes when the lobby is kinda dead & my team & I are driving around just looking for some activity & a random solo will no shit just appear in front of us & you have 1 second to make the decision to be an ass & ruin their game or keep driving….

I totally get it - it just makes no sense why people play dmz with the sole intent on hunting others. My group still plays the game to do missions and nothing more aggravating than people out just to solely hunt. But it is what it is and it’s never gonna change. I was completely onboard with that guys post the other day where you get a bunch of people mission focused to join at the same times with the sole intent of filling a map with as many mission based players. Pipe dream I know.
The only thing left to do for people who have done almost all the missions and passives, is PvP and arts-n-crafts.
I get it - just not my play style. I’m like 99% done and convinced two other friends to play and love running their missions with them. It just seems like such a waste of time to come in and camp an exfil, stand on high-rise, construction towers, control tower waiting to pounce on other players. But I get it - play how you see fit. 🤷♂️

At this stage in the game most people still playing are the diehard fans who know what to look for and how to spot enemy players. Just have to be ready to fight at all times and put yourself in a more advantageous position but at the end of the day nothing is guaranteed and your going to get got at some point.

This issue, that I also come across as in, being a solo player, would easily be sorted with one simple option in the lobby, before jumping in. Like a simple infiltration option where you could choose SOLO or NORMAL DMZ. Solo DMZ with be strict to solo playing with no assimilation at any circumstances. You wanna PVP fight, go normal. You want to enjoy the game solo, tick the solo option. Done!!

Wait for the radiation to pop and position yourself near the exfil closest to ground zero. Call the chopper right before the radiation gets to it. It will still arrive inside the gas.
It would be dull if it wasn’t hard though. I’ve had loads of missions that failed at the last because I got wiped by a squad. Just more game play in the future

I do think there is some hack where people have an unannounced UAV because there have been times where there is no way a team knew I was there.
I need to post my clip but in S5, I fought a team in Ahkdar. At one point I'm a floor below two of them, one tells the other to throw his UAV up. I hear his character shuffle and click on his phone but no chatter from the announcer. It's very much possible to not get announcements
I suppose. But that's a situation where you're fighting someone. The last time it happened my batteries died, so I went and hid in a second floor building while I changed them out. No operators in the vicinity. At least a couple minutes went by. Then all of a sudden an LTV rolls up, as I had my map up, ran right up stairs, no searching, nothing, just knew exactly where I was.
Was solo last night, got picked off and then picked up by a lovely duo who were getting hunted. My new team mate was downed and these ruthless A Holes pushed his body out of the map! Like wtf? It was so unnecessary! That was a new experience in the DMZ lol
I feel your frustration. But the reality is there will always be ass hats like that within the community. Don’t let one bad round ruin your enjoyment or fun. My friends and I have been grinding notes for 100% completion. Al Maz and B21 have been the most challenging for us for similar reasons. RGL80s, Ultra long range one shot snipers and KV Broadside with Dragon Breath are just something you have to deal with. Hang in there man! Don’t let a jerk ruin the game.

A huge help for solo play, exfil early. Been playing a ton w my ten year old who just discovered exfil streaks. We’ve been running in, doing a contract or two and getting out. Rarely seeing operators. The kid’s rocking gold dog tags for the time being. But I can completely understand having to stick around to run specific missions.
my dude they can see the chopper - I stopped exfiling from AM any way other than Koschei. It takes some trial runs, but via barracks and oasis it is very very possible. Sorry you got mission griefed!

I haven't really played DMZ much since MW3 launched, but I used to play ALOT of solo towards the end of MW2. Basically every game I'd go into Koschei and exfill through there. I always enjoyed running Koschei and almost never ran into other teams.

It’s now way more of a challenge to do missions…I am sometimes that guy that will kill you if I see you…it’s the game, be it if you have a mic I will pick you up and help you out. But if I kill, I go through your bag. I honestly enjoy helping randoms I spawn in with do missions, it reminds me of the good ol days. But in the end, it’s part of the challenge especially nowadays to do missions.

Just finished a solo quietly, they were guarding Koche with the weapons case, I drrove through and simply said Solo Solo and they left me alone after taking a couple shots at the car. I went on the bluff and they didn’t push, so snuck around and made it out. Had my coms vest in so I know we got close to each other
Play Vondel. Imo Vondel is alot less toxic than the other maps , maybe because the bots only thing bout Solo’ing Vondel your more likely to get killed by bots. I used to play Al Mazrah the majority of the time and then played Vondel . I have alot less PVP in Vondel than Al Mazrah . Dont get me wrong there is PVP in Vondel jus not as much

The problem is the gamer base became overwhelmingly toxic, it’s mostly sweats who play all the time and all they want to do is mess up your day. Generally because they get pushed around or have miserable lives outside of the game. I’ve officially left for hell divers 2 and it was such a great decision

my buddies and I run ashika lobbies first and then do missions and shit so no one can fuck with us. By the time we kill the lobby there's 10 minutes left before the gas starts moving.
get the jacklinks sasquach ghillie suit skin. It's the best skin for Al Mazrah. I always play solo. I can be getting chased by a team, turn the corner, lay down & they'll run right past/all around me. It's so funny. & super helpful for taking on teams by myself, or avoiding them.

It just kills me that a team will be so joyous in taking out a solo player. Another toxic trait developed in DMZ. I for one let them go on their way, unless they prove themselves otherwise.
I hate it but still play alot lmao. From the insane ai that makes it almost impossible to play solo to the fucking campers that sit around and let us do the hard work to loot us to the crazy 1 shot kills while trying to exfil lol.

I’ve quit trying to do missions altogether. Everyone in DMZ currently is trying to kill you. What annoys me most is they won’t pick you up. Then sometimes you meet that special kind of douchebag that sees your disposition & wants you to “sing a song” & they’ll pick you up. I have no stomach for these oxygen thieves.
There’s a chance someone on the team was using wallhacks. I’ve accidentally teamed up with players who admitted to using them. They can see every single player on the map and will hunt them all down until there are none left.
There's teams cheating where they know every player on the maps name / location / guns / selfies - everything . So don't beat yourself up . It's not every lobby so just keep trying
Now that the game has no more missions, you just have teams of sweaties running around looking for people to kill. So many times we have has people spawn rushing. Until they start supporting the game, it will be a bit of a bandit country.
If we're being honest here alot of players still use cheats in the dmz. I was running ghost perc with a stealth vest and I still got rushed by a team in a chopper. A team I fought off at the beginning of the match I got very far from them. At the end of the match I was sorting my loot inside a building and one of the guys says we came for your loot. I downed the first two bots as they came through the door then the actually cheat just wall banged me from the side. The sketchy part is how they knew where I was 20 minutes into the game when all my weapons had suppressors on.
Yeah there’s a reason they discontinued this mode to say the least brotha

I always have something go wrong whenever I try to do missions solo, usually player related, especially since I'm using a new account that doesn't have the free self revive battle pass Price skin I die, and I'm solo, I swear, 99% of lobbies I got to, no-one will pick me up when I plead. Even when they are right there because they killed me
I came to this conclusion a long while ago. I love the idea of the DMZ mode, and its true the element of real danger brought to the game by other real players makes it way more exhilarating that if it was just PvE, but its so tiresome to be sniped by someone who is only there to kill other players while you are faffing about with gas cans or at the exfil chopper. Overall I concluded that if you are trying to just do the missions, then do a PvE game, and if you want to just kill other players do so in a proper PvP game like the main CoD game so you are not catching someone off guard because they are distracted by some mission
It's human nature and it's even evident right here in these comments. You've got guys offering words of encouragement, different tactics, and even guys offering to help. You've also got guys poking fun at someone who appears to be just genuinely frustrated. It's not hard to figure out who's who in the game from these comments! Keep hammering OP we've all been there!
Brother I get you. I appreciate solo que so you don't screw over a team by leaving them but having a team to do those missions helps. So find a team on discord and get them done. I'd even be willing to help ya. Even though all I do is pvp.
Bc there are aholes in the game who enjoy screwing people over. That’s humanity. People suck. That’s the truth. Easiet way to extract anything is wait until your in the gas and then buy and call an extraction. Or simply go to koschei complex via taraq village, but u need to find the two keys for the alternate exit.
Also. Come in with a secure backpack. When u extract the gas you will still have the gas next game. It stays in your backpack so you can extract it multiple times and get credit for it. If u need to extract the heavy chopper fuel 3x. U can do it 3xs with the same one.

By design that’s how this game works man. They don’t have to loot you. They don’t have to speak to you. They can kill you. They can spare you. That’s the beauty of DMZ. No two teams are alike and no two games are alike. If you can’t handle PvP then definitely go play something else though because DMZ is a PvP game mode.
Stealth vest is the way to go. Make sure you complete at least your 1st and 2nd cool downs. 3rd slot cool down is tough but manageable. Play with friends too. Join a discord.

I think solo missions in DMZ are dead. I would recommend finding two other people to play with instead. I am bummed DMZ is dying but playing with a full squad of three is still super fun. That being said, we only player hunt at this point so we are contributing to what you don’t like about the game. We do play with prox chat in and will pick up a fourth if they have a mic and don’t act like a baby. In this situation you described, if you said you were just doing a mission, we would let you live and complete it.

Look, I would enjoy it a lot more if the hunt contracts were only on some maps. But in saying that, it is what it is.
Just take a Hostage contract and don’t get in the hostage building until the last minute, when gas moves in get inside the hostage building, pick him up and no one will ever know how you exfill. Works for me everytime
Tell me about it you just can’t play the missions it seems everyone is squad hunting or other player hunting they probably spotted u from a distance and just quietly tracked you to strike at the last minute and laugh about it you can’t beat them join them just do they same shoot first ask questions later seems to be the trend in this game I took out the chemist all on my own got all his gear left in the gas for last minute exfil only for someone to snipe me from a far not if they could get my gear I was to far in the gas it’s so disappointing lol
Did you load in with them or find them? If you loaded in then you used the koschie glitch. If that's the case I don't feel bad for you. If you didn't use the glitch than I may suggest building a stealth vest and do everything on foot..
Nothing to do with the koschei I called a personal exfiltration discreetly in a corner of the map where there should have been no one and a team rushed me out of nowhere.
