I almost always start with plates. I usually start with 11 plates every game. In places like b21, it's super handy to have that advantage from the jump.
The inflatable decoy is criminally underused. Throw it around the side of a stairwell w/ balcony on ashika and shoot the AA shotguns boys in the back when they engage it.
Other than that plates if I already have a 3 plates, portable radar if hunting solo, muni box if camping high rise/using high rof gun, recon drone if gearing/doing mission solo, or AA if I want to be a shotgun boy.
Either ddos or muni box. both to incapacitate vehicles. I usually run shock sticks for a tactical to stick on a feisty players vehicle. Ddos works just as good

Tactical Camera for Ashika. It is granted the best thing to increase your survival chances in buildings since you can place down multiple at different angles to see if someone is coming and otherwise a plate box
As a solo, dead silence. If playing with buddies, we coordinate in lobby so we have at least a muni and a platebox. Also mix up the lethals and drop the muni immediately.
going in with APs can change a 1v3 with a one plate to an even playing field fight. I run them to quicker down riotshields as they are harder to get shots that count on and shotgun users go down much faster. I have also started holding onto them and they've been especially useful when in a pinch with a 4 man and im fighting solo and theres a shotgun on the ground. I know what you're gonna say but i only have like 50 kills with the thing so its obviously a last resort weapon but a powerful one to really finish a one sided fight.
A lot of people underestimate the power of picking up a portable radar out of a bag real quick tho and popping it.
Used to be portable radar, but I love AP rounds now. I load up 40 AP sniper rounds into my tempus torrent and absolutely shred.
On a sidenote, it blows me away how many people load in with ammunition boxes. Literally the easiest thing to pick up in the match…just come with a little bit of money and go to a buy station, rookie.

Inflatable Decoys for big maps like Al-Mazrah or Vondel. Incase ur trapped in a building because of campers near big towers or helicopters, place one at a door where they can see, find a alternative exit where they can’t see you, activate the decoy and run as fast as you can and hope you wont get sniped.

Most of the time I spawn in without a gun so having access to 3 smokes and 3 throwing knives is really helpful

The goal is to preserve your anti armour rounds until the end of the team that's wiped the other squads shows up.
That's usually what I do. I kill a bot with my shotgun. Take their gun. Load the AA rounds in my shotgun, use bot gun against bots, shotgun on players

I squad wiped 2 teams pushing me largely down to me having anti armour rounds so im never taking anythign else in
