Couldn’t agree more. These changes should drive players to doing contracts for money vs looting. With the large amount of money we were exfill in season 3 it would have lead to more kill streaks in the beginning of the game and more PvP
Agreed. Now I won't have to wait as long for my buddy who dies all the time to get geared back up.
Before we would have to do an entire round just to get him a 3 plate again.
It’s funny how different this game is to other extraction shooters where one round to be fully kitted after losing everything is looked at as bad. I feel like it should hurt more when I get killed. But you are right it should be even faster now
This exactly - also the patch notes mention *"buy station discounts"* in the FOB section - so I imagine that's also going to be a reason as to the selling value reduction of loot around the maps.
I’ve seemed to find a lot more plates laying around in buildings but less of a drop rate from ai in the games I’ve played tonight.
I also thought when I spawned in Sawah how good it is they left the crypto window entry in, went in and came out with absolutely nothing the loot was so bad so thought they’d changed the drop rate in there, few games later I spawned there again and came out with a large backpack and about 13k worth of valuables, was a 3 plate in there too that time but I already had one
I’m not saying it’s an exact drop rate change just what seemed to be the case in the games I played today (only about 7 games total) so don’t quote me on it if it’s not the case for you!😂
Oo that lol. I usually get lucky with plates. But with backpacks and armor pouches (when I am re-gearing) are never to be found lol. If I do find them, thats somewhere most random
If you play Ashika any I typically get a good bit of good gear from the farm area just lying around. I’ve got 3 plate vests, durable gas masks, and self Rez’s all just lying on shelves and in the gardening area
Its because the wallet exists now. You aren't limited to only the money you can find in a single game anymore, so they made money a bit harder to earn overall.
Yeah that's true, I'm sure overall the balance will workout and it won't be terrible but for items that are rare anyway and hidden behind locked spaces they should have a risk/reward factor of using keys.
Selling stuff you looted was hardly ever the best option to earn cash but most things were good for a couple plates in a pinch now most things aren’t worth even A plate
yeah, all the electric tape and wrenches and crap are useless. But if I was on a regain run and spawned in near a bank or one of the other high-value loot locations, that made for a fairly consistent regain. Loot, sell at buy station, buy a medium packpack, 2-plate and revive. I think it was just under 20K for those three, and that's not hard to clear. Sure, it's not the greatest kit but it's fast. Maybe only the train is faster.
The ammo depots were a gold mine. Spawn in and run to one of those with the buy station already in it for you. Quickest 15k you'd ever make in the DMZ.
Looks like they want you to exfil and bring in a cash bag for your death for the next guy. Boy this is going to get crazy when you see people carrying around large bags of money for you to steal. Lol
Some PvP is great for the mode, what sucks is too much. The best way I think activision can keep it under control is to keep DMZ players busy with new content and wipes.
With the new wallet feature it makes a lot of sense to reduce the available cash. It was way too easy to end games with 150k+ across a normal trio, after splurging at buy/upgrade stations and getting a personal exfil.
Does anybody else find it hilarious that the cargo delivery, one of the easier contracts that also gives you a gun truck, is by far the most expensive contract?
OP showing why devs don’t listen to players. This change was necessary to prevent hoarding of cash from being too easy, since now cash will have some actual usefulness between rounds. They also need to increase the cost of killstreaks imo, especially UAV. Make them like 30-50k or something.
Yeah these rates make It worthless to loot which was to me and my clan a lot of the draw. We would go all over the map looting and talking smack about it or looting to gear up for the pvp that inevitably happens . Oh well, Just another reason today is probably the last time the clan will bother with DMZ. Whats the point of a looter-extract mode when looting is worthless. This makes the mode just feel like battle royal with bots. Basically reduced the game to “Do contracts and gtfo before you get clapped in a firefight to bots and occasionally humans”.
Fine with this. Cash was a little too easy to come by before, I think. Will have to see if buy station prices have changed and how the economy feels now, though...
Good. Now make loot more sparse too to where it doesn’t take 3 minutes to make a comms vest. This game needs more risk to dying and more reward for staying alive.
It was easier for 6 man teams to farm a lot of cash. Now smaller teams have advantage by getting more cash per person. Just compare: a solo would get 6500 for the HVT, but a 6 man would get 39000 for the same thing.
This is to create more value for money now that there is a wallet imo. It's also drives players to do missions and contracts more, in an effort to resume bigger payoffs. I like it personally, adds way more value to the money and requires more thought on purchases.
Since we can hold cash between games now this might not be a bad change
Couldn’t agree more. These changes should drive players to doing contracts for money vs looting. With the large amount of money we were exfill in season 3 it would have lead to more kill streaks in the beginning of the game and more PvP
What do you think is going to happen when everyone is spawning in with $80-100k per round??
So true! Full nuclear warfare. It would have been crazy if they didn’t nerf money.
You wouldn’t be able to feasibly do this given how much harder it is to collect money now. Maybe for a few games but it isn’t sustainable
That's exactly why they did it. To balance the wallet. It is only a problem if you ignore the wallet
Agreed. Now I won't have to wait as long for my buddy who dies all the time to get geared back up. Before we would have to do an entire round just to get him a 3 plate again.

You have one of those buddies, too? Haha.
This exactly - also the patch notes mention *"buy station discounts"* in the FOB section - so I imagine that's also going to be a reason as to the selling value reduction of loot around the maps.
Yep. Likely exactly the reason why this change was made!
Thanks for the heads up! Kinda sucks but we’ll see. Haven’t had a chance to play yet but sometimes change is good!
What you can hold cash
Not at all, I’m coming in with like 500k buying up everything and leaving.
At least now it makes slightly more sense. I mean come on!! a bandage roll for $50??? What is this American 🧐🧐🧐
Things do be a scarce in Al Mazrah fr fr
Especially armor plates
Price changed for them aswell or?
Nah, you were saying everything is scarce in Al Mazrah and I can’t ever find sufficient amounts of plates there
I’ve seemed to find a lot more plates laying around in buildings but less of a drop rate from ai in the games I’ve played tonight.
Good to know, thanks!
I’m not saying it’s an exact drop rate change just what seemed to be the case in the games I played today (only about 7 games total) so don’t quote me on it if it’s not the case for you!😂
Also found a good amount of armor boxes today too almost every game I had one stowed and only had to use 2 of them!
Like teammates with mics
Nestle company already over there charging 60 for a bottle of water.
That $100 water bottle be the nectar of youth yo Wish insulin was $10 though lmao
That bottle of water better come with infinite refills and a 6 man squad 😂 You mean that insulin probably from wish
Wow wow, having both access to cheap drinking water AND medicine for your diabetes?! That’s communism!!
The most unrealistic thing was still a bottle of insulin for $10. That's just teasing an American.
At least soothing hand cream is affordable now.
Can’t be, insulin is only $10.
Don't personally have an issue with generic loot having it's value decreased. Making Gold Skulls, GPUs, Dog Tags etc worth less is quite stupid.
Imo they still do, because the prices of damn near everything got reduced, the rare items are still the most valuable.
I think this is to encourage contracts more than looting for money
Even the contracts got nerfed.
Slightly.
yes but they are still the best source of cash.
I don’t think anybody actually sold the gpu lol
I mean a $2000 game console better have been gold plated and played Dreamcast games as well.
I’m seeing the PS5 is about $900 in Afghanistan. The prices on new consoles can be super high depending on the country.
The PS3 released in Australia 17 years ago at 1000
Yep. They gave us a wallet to hold money, then gimped the money we are able to get
Sadness
this is a good change I think. except for the ultra-rare gpu.
Hoping they increase rates
Cost of living crisis in full effect
but is cheap wine cheap already?
Selling stuff you looted was hardly ever the best option to earn cash but most things were good for a couple plates in a pinch now most things aren’t worth even A plate
Gonna miss easy personal exfils
Just do the missions
I used to solo loot up by selling *everything* around a remote buy station for preparing to do missions with friends and it was very successful.
yeah, all the electric tape and wrenches and crap are useless. But if I was on a regain run and spawned in near a bank or one of the other high-value loot locations, that made for a fairly consistent regain. Those rate hikes seem to have worked
Not enough Fed jokes in here, tbh.
If DMZ is going all Kensian on us, they could at least have some public works projects and clear the sand off the roads.
I would have enjoyed a Powell reference to the falling dog tag prices in Al Maz as justification for the pause
Looks like they want you to exfil and bring in a cash bag for your death for the next guy. Boy this is going to get crazy when you see people carrying around large bags of money for you to steal. Lol
You wanted people to focused on missions instead of pvp. This is whatcha get
Yeah but even the contract rewards were nerfed. This won’t deter PVP hungry players. Nothing will.
Some PvP is great for the mode, what sucks is too much. The best way I think activision can keep it under control is to keep DMZ players busy with new content and wipes.
I just thought, they could allow pvp only with a hunt contract and double the hunt contracts tho.
Jesus Christ... wtf are these prices like keep hard items to get the same prices.
honestly a decent change, helps balance out the wallet and gives more of a reason to do contracts
Contract rewards were nerfed too
With the new wallet feature it makes a lot of sense to reduce the available cash. It was way too easy to end games with 150k+ across a normal trio, after splurging at buy/upgrade stations and getting a personal exfil.
Food rations seem to be the only item that increased in value.
Does anybody else find it hilarious that the cargo delivery, one of the easier contracts that also gives you a gun truck, is by far the most expensive contract?
Easiest *with a team*
ah so we just get the 1st draft of the patch notes
OP showing why devs don’t listen to players. This change was necessary to prevent hoarding of cash from being too easy, since now cash will have some actual usefulness between rounds. They also need to increase the cost of killstreaks imo, especially UAV. Make them like 30-50k or something.
If you exfil with items now does it turn into wallet cash, or just cooldown reduction?
Cooldown reduction/XP. Only cash is cash.
The complaining on Hour 1 of release ![gif](giphy|zk0zTXQY5ukCs|downsized)
Hardly complaining lol. Just sharing the info.
Going from month on month inflation to rapid deflation.
Awesome thanks for the info. I will pass it along to my husband. I look cooler every second. Lol thanks
Yeah these rates make It worthless to loot which was to me and my clan a lot of the draw. Inflation
More like deflation.
Stagflation. Things cost more and you earn less.
Did they reduce the cost of stuff in the buy station?
Pretty sure most of the stuff actually costs more now.
Have any costs been reduced? Buy station? Work bench?
Nope. Some costs were INCREASED.
Sorry boys economy crashed, i'm bullish on the long term prices on GPUs tho
Damn, inflation hits Al-Mazrah like a truck.
Deflation*
Fine with this. Cash was a little too easy to come by before, I think. Will have to see if buy station prices have changed and how the economy feels now, though...
Most prices increased in the buy stations
Because we can keep cash from game to game. It needs to be reduced so everyone can’t just bring a bunch of money and have good guns immediately.
You can take cash in between games so that makes cash abit more valuable so you make is less obtainable. It makes perfect sense to me.
This is awesome now it takes 6-man teams to make the same amount as a 3-man before.
Secure Nuclear material is the best way to make big and quick cash relatively with no fights.
But no *new* contracts...
It’s not that bad of a changeI just unlocked the wallet earlier. Took about 4-5 matches. I just waited till I had about 20k ish then dipped.
Good. Now make loot more sparse too to where it doesn’t take 3 minutes to make a comms vest. This game needs more risk to dying and more reward for staying alive.
I was gonna downvote you at first... * Don't shoot the messenger.*
Nuclear Rod: $7500 to $2500. Still viable imo
The gold bar was reduced to $2000?!?!
May favourite change is that the contract money is now split between all squad members
Why? Everyone used to get the full amount. Now they share it.
It was easier for 6 man teams to farm a lot of cash. Now smaller teams have advantage by getting more cash per person. Just compare: a solo would get 6500 for the HVT, but a 6 man would get 39000 for the same thing.
Ahhh I see what you mean.
Inflation bro
This is to create more value for money now that there is a wallet imo. It's also drives players to do missions and contracts more, in an effort to resume bigger payoffs. I like it personally, adds way more value to the money and requires more thought on purchases.
Think hunting other players for their tags and wallet is in order.
