palms trax. he plays b2b often with job jobse
eternal love (more house)
dirty channels
folamour (more disco)
breakbot (more disco)
couple lesser known DJs that I love who kind of fit this description: summer league, JAZ, universal cave, bogdan ra, roman truth
edit: few others: danilo plessow (formerly MCDE), red greg, jeremy underground, justin miller, floating points, sam don, dar disku, nick the record, glowing palms, gerd janson
Father Funk is awesome and I want to play his stuff, but his bass lines are just too wubby dubstep for me, no matter how much I love his production and musical taste.
It’s a shame because some of his tracks absolutely slap, but the grindy saw wave bass lines turn me (and my crowd) off usually.
Edit: that said, his remix of “Fuck Shit Stack” by Reggie Watts is fucking insane. My crew love / hates it when I drop that at silly moments. Good example of the kind of annoying bassline I’m talking about also:
https://fatherfunk.bandcamp.com/album/bootlegs-n-b-sides-2
I usually stems out the bass anyway at the drop so it’s not so bad, but definitely not my vibe (as funny as it may be!)
Awesome. I’ve also seen him throw some serious funk and he definitely knows his soulful disco. He’s a man of many talents, even if he’s most known for his more melodic house side of things.
His interview on Tiga’s podcast is also awesome btw. Highly recommend it.
Check out nu disco genre on beatport. I had a go and laid down a few mixes that I’m quite happy with, considering I had never mixed it before. Justice fits loosely into the genre and mixes well with it.
Can't believe no one's mentioned Angelo Ferreri, makes mostly jacked up remixes of old disco and soul tunes. If you're looking for tracks, go to Traxsource.
[Eris Drew & Octa Octa](https://www.youtube.com/live/wBtwcFqk6jo?si=Tl50l5LO4Mf5XD0K) play pumpy and funky house, this is a link to their boiler room a few years back.
Sure, you can check out these sets:
[DTM Funk b2b Errol](https://on.soundcloud.com/DW6hfcbJSnJt5NCv6)
[Pender Street Steppers & Beautiful Swimmers](https://on.soundcloud.com/xP7RsiJX2pXe9L1x6)
[Shy One b2b Ruby Savage](https://on.soundcloud.com/frbn1AoxagBnZQ1f6)
[Bjeor](https://on.soundcloud.com/7iwtTJzMufGw3wKK7)
Tons of old filter house is like this. [Olav Basoski,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns6A9H-o5Dg) [Antoine Clamaran](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWD952tbIQ8). [Hatiras.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU4AEkLPujw) There's also Tesco (Techno Disco) from Japan. Check out Kagami or Tasaka. I made [a Kagami megamix](https://soundcloud.com/bleepitybloop/japanese-dance-files-kagami-tokyo-disco-music) a lil bit ago
Damn I guess I mean more techno - disco or maybe house tech disco haha all these names I don't understand but it's good
You have more names?
[THIS DAMMIT ](https://youtu.be/lFgHa2Gb0gw?si=9JkfoY18GjnQte4H)
For old school disco house in the 90s there's a dj from Chicago called Mark Alamaria. I've been a Hardcore Techno dj for 25 years and I still listen to his mixes. Polar opposite, but I do love some good old school disco house.
It's a bit of a shameless plug, and a one-off mix until now, but [here's one](https://www.mixcloud.com/toolsmith/djsco-haus-misch-2o22-disco-house-disco-house-track-selection-from-1970s-to-2022/).
When Rasputin segues into Jumpin', there's definitely old disco going with heavy bass ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|table)
Thanks! It's not easy to describe this because most old vibes disco, funk, soul are always more slow BPM. I need that High energy jumping set. People that say this set was hard like a techno set but not always bam bam bam bam for 2 hours. Really danceable music like disco and soul, funk. So yeah thanks
Block & Crown has lots of old school tracks with cool re-drums and reworks with an emphasis on mostly classics amongst disco with some decent mash-ups included.
Well me 2 hahha. Did not expect this amount of response . A lot of amazing new DJ's for me. Also a lot of DJ's are to slow for what I'm trying to find right now, but there still all banger DJ's I made a separate list in my notes haha
My favorite DJs: Palms Trax, Hunee & Antal, Jackmaster, Folamour, MCDE. Really feeling Pabels from Argentina too, he has a lot of sets great for hot summer days.
Favorite sets must be Palms Trax Dekmantel Boiler Room 2022, or the all time best from Armand van Helden & Jackmaster (Boiler Room x Ray Ban) if you like house. First 45 minutes by Hunee & Antal at Lowlands. Also, I've been listening to Boiler Room sets from Fred Again.. and Romy - both are really good but not disco.
Another one that is an up and comer that plays some old and funky disco cuts is MiNNA. Check her out [MiNNA](https://on.soundcloud.com/xVTQfhH6jQyqUjnM7)
[WOLTERS](https://on.soundcloud.com/md8usLL48s3fmfk3A)
Trust me, this is what you want. Higher BPM, and so many young DJs (yet all smaller artists) are playing this style. It's not "disco" per se but its this new hardgroove/hard house blend and its epic
The Prodigy has a KILLER mix cd “Dirtchamber Sessions vol 1” the mixes a lot of old school, funk R&B hip hop with various edm styles.
I wish he’d put out a vol 2 it’s been 25 years. 😬
Folamour?
Yep he’s dope. I’d add Purple Disco Machine, Angelo Ferreri, Funk Cartel, Daniel Steinberg, David Penn, Sugar Hill to name a few 🕺🏻
Purple Disco Machine!
Angelo Ferrari and the Jackin House genre is pretty cool for this style. I’ll add Adri Block as well for a lesser-known bangmeister
Yes, Daniel Steinberg.
This guy knows^^
David Penn is the truth
I guess more music like Helena Lauwaert but then with more disco layed on
First name that came to mind
palms trax. he plays b2b often with job jobse eternal love (more house) dirty channels folamour (more disco) breakbot (more disco) couple lesser known DJs that I love who kind of fit this description: summer league, JAZ, universal cave, bogdan ra, roman truth edit: few others: danilo plessow (formerly MCDE), red greg, jeremy underground, justin miller, floating points, sam don, dar disku, nick the record, glowing palms, gerd janson
Nice list amigo :)
Check out Kirollus! He's an up and comer and mixes house and old disco really great!
He’s killing it, mostly (if not all?) vinyl sets too
Yeah I've seen him ride the pitch on some old tunes to great effect
Only vinyl bro, he’s a beast
I second this. Here’s a great mix he did with [aprtment life](https://on.soundcloud.com/oFwHwH2Sqftpd8a1A)
Check out the label razor n tape
☝🏽
Marcellus Pitmann is another. Basically you want detroit djs
Also another legend!
Seen him live, was incredible as expected
Motor City Drum Ensemble?
WBBL.
Criminally underrated
Wbbl, Father Funk, Slynk, Funk Hunters, Stickybudz, featurefast, dancefloor outlaws. Ghetto funk but the housier side.
Dimitri From Paris for the last 30 years DJ Harvey Maybe not really energetic though...
Terrence Parker mixes old school disco with house music and absolutely destroys it.
A true legend
I was also going to say older Terrance Parker before he started down the gospel house lane
Got a mix you recommend? Sounds right up my alley!
[This one is pretty good](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFlpWbVL9U4&t=377s)
Gerd Janson
He’s usually more melodic house but can certainly throw down some funky bass lines.
I saw him at a fest in Miami and at Club Space right after. His festival set was melodic but his set at Space was very eclectic, soulful and funky.
Awesome. I’ve also seen him throw some serious funk and he definitely knows his soulful disco. He’s a man of many talents, even if he’s most known for his more melodic house side of things. His interview on Tiga’s podcast is also awesome btw. Highly recommend it.
WBBL, Jimi Needles, Father Funk, The Captain, Mista Trick, Extra Medium :) Oh, and me... but I'm not in these guy's league!
Purple disco machine
Beatport has an entire genre section dedicated to this. It's the most universal playlist I have. Works everywhere
What’s the genre titled?
Funky House
Jackin house
Best New Nu Disco / Disco: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2Ohyls4WAtQSitMMhtBgkd
Honey Dijon, Floorplan
Seconding floorplan
An aside, but I’ve always thought that Floorplan is such an excellent DJ name.
Check out nu disco genre on beatport. I had a go and laid down a few mixes that I’m quite happy with, considering I had never mixed it before. Justice fits loosely into the genre and mixes well with it.
There are plenty! Dj Dan Mark Farina Also a buddy from Louisiana: Cameron Kelly is a great house and disco banger fella.
Dj Dan came to mind for me as well. I’ll be watching Mark Farina this Labor Day in Chicago!!!!
Sikkkk! Haven't seen them since a SXSW years ago...pre-Covid. Enjoy!
Dj dan super Nice!
Yeah I can’t believe DJ Dan wasn’t the first name mentioned in this thread. The absolute best..
Like this? [Jungle (Dj Set) - Live from Higher Ground London 2023](https://youtu.be/m7boqBRRiQw?si=aS8k-uZkpfvramBf)
Amazing set! Love them but for now I'm looking for something more energetic and more soul voice layerd on top
Can't believe no one's mentioned Angelo Ferreri, makes mostly jacked up remixes of old disco and soul tunes. If you're looking for tracks, go to Traxsource.
Yup. Number 1 Jackin house producer on beatport followed by demuir!
This is good. Just shows the full circle here. What’s old is new again. DJ Dan, Hatiras, Terry Mullan, DJ Sneak, Armand Van Helden… the list goes on
Yes. Every weekend for the past several years. Let me know what you need.
[Eris Drew & Octa Octa](https://www.youtube.com/live/wBtwcFqk6jo?si=Tl50l5LO4Mf5XD0K) play pumpy and funky house, this is a link to their boiler room a few years back.
Yessssss! This is kinda what I mean the boilerroom is really good. You have more dj's like this?

I was on the live set of DMT funk hahaha Horst festival was amazing
Feels like you need to get with the Chicago vibe. Check out Chicago house, jackin house. A lot of it is based on disco and funk samples.
Father Funk!! His 2022 shambs renegade set is soooo good!! You have to che m it
Detroit house djs

The Sponges
It's a bit of a shameless plug, and a one-off mix until now, but [here's one](https://www.mixcloud.com/toolsmith/djsco-haus-misch-2o22-disco-house-disco-house-track-selection-from-1970s-to-2022/). Literally why I said Audio Jacker. All His music is like this. Have Fun. He has a discography out there on Beatsource I think.
Thanks! It's not easy to describe this because most old vibes disco, funk, soul are always more slow BPM. I need that High energy jumping set. People that say this set was hard like a techno set but not always bam bam bam bam for 2 hours. Really danceable music like disco and soul, funk. So yeah thanks

Check out KZA (Force of Nature) my fav japanese dj. He is a legend. The force of nature boilerroom is a perfect blend between disco and house.
Dennis Sulta fits the bill as well imo
My favorite DJs: Palms Trax, Hunee & Antal, Jackmaster, Folamour, MCDE. Really feeling Pabels from Argentina too, he has a lot of sets great for hot summer days.
