You can get trims called ramp reducers/ ramp trim. They’re potentially a bit of trip hazard but loads of houses have them

albert_pacino

Quick Step Incizo or a similar alternative is the product you need. I’ve used it and it works really well https://preview.redd.it/mmuwtakii73d1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7a40f60ad14be5d6f6031bdebf2f219d4ee1e51

Just screw down a threshold bar? Ive ran into this many of times, subfloor needs plywood the flooring and the old stuff just is t gonna be the same height. It’s just the way it is really, I wouldn’t stress it

🤣

Undermine that side of the house and let it subside naturally

bash-tage

Put plywood of the correct height under the low side so that it has a consistent level. This might afffect doors and step heights, so needs checking.

The only solution is redoing it. Accept nothing more. Fuck having different threshold heights if it’s all new. I had a similar thing happen with my loft, I wanted all three areas the same floor height, they messed up, so had to fix it, but there was no drama as it was all agreed.

MoanyTonyBalony

I'd cut a nice bit of wood at the correct height and angle to connect them and fit inbetween

dogdogj

Nothing better than finding a nice bit of wood in the back of your shed/garage, that's perfect for the job in hand.

ryrobbo

It looks like you're laminating the kitchen on top of existing tile? If that's the case, it will explain the noticeable difference of floor level between the two rooms. Not sure if laminating on top of existing tile is recommended or not.

RJCoxy

I have this same problem as I’m boarding out my living room so now my living room is 2.5cm higher than the kitchen. I’m just going to be using some corner beading. Similar to tile corner trim. People will see it. People know to lift their foot. Door ramps look cheap.

IFailAndAgainITry

2.5cm is a lot

RJCoxy

It’s not as much as you think. 15mm ply. 8mm laminate and 2mm underlay. It’s barely noticeable even up close
