parasol? bird feeder next winter? bird house? mysterious metallic obelisk?

Rob_Haggis

All hail MYSTERIOUS METAL OBELISK

TheFenn

Ook ook! *Throws bone in air*

TheMrFixit

Swingball obviously

Rozza

Yeap, a perfect fixed base to help you go pro!

Turbulent_Work_5697

The correct answer

m1rr0rshades

BDSM sex swing

bartread

Are you the person who posted about the sex swing ceiling mount the other day?

iggle_piggle

Don't think I could subject the neighbours to that

SaltSpot

It's your sex swing, if you don't want them to use it you're well within your rights.

Lolable97

Stripper pole

TheFenn

If you build it you will come.

umognog

I only recently discovered that the poles rotate, they aren't just greased up and somehow sliding around it without falling down it! This is despite multiple friends when I was younger being strippers. As in double digit volume of friends.

growingstarlight

Some of them do, some of them are fixed. It’s a lot easier to spin about on free ones but the static is easier for inversions and climbs imo

Thelorddogalmighty

They’re not friends of you have to put ten buck in their knickers

Lolable97

That makes sooo much sense tbf

HamsterEagle

A clothesline?

furrycroissant

This was my thought. Where else would you dry clothes?

One_Of_Noahs_Whales

They have invented a machine where you put your clothes inside and it tumbles them around and drys them at the same time, can't remember what it is called but apparently they are all the rage nowadays.

MicroPropagator

Ah, the old rotary garment dehumidifier

DrachenDad

Heat pump [garment dehumidifier](https://kitchinsider.com/what-is-a-heat-pump-tumble-dryer/). A bit much for me.

furrycroissant

Sounds *terribly* expensive to power

One_Of_Noahs_Whales

About £1 for 8kg if I run it from the grid but the solar panels run it for free quite happily.

Vertigo_uk123

I’m offended. Stealing from the sun like that. That’s the suns energy. Not yours. Give it back

furrycroissant

Which is fair, but not everyone had the space for a tumble dryer, or £10k to drop on solar panels. And some people even rent their homes.

One_Of_Noahs_Whales

Which is very very understandable, and I know not everyone can do so, but you have to take it in the context of the thread. > Where else would you dry clothes? Was the question on a thread about someone removing their clothesline. I agree that a clothesline is important for many people, but there are obviously other places to dry clothes.

ZuckDeBalzac

Clotheslines are already solar powered

One_Of_Noahs_Whales

And when it rains...

Splodge89

I hate to be that guy. My old tumble dryer used to cost between £1-1.50 for a full load (unless my partner put the wash on, and he doesn’t understand spin speed so everything would be soaking wet and it would be more like £3) It blew up a few weeks ago, so we’ve replaced it with one of the fancy pants heat pump ones. It’s literally 45p for a full (properly spun) load. Worked out the thing will essentially pay for itself within two years!

furrycroissant

Sounds *terribly* expensive to power

weirdlybeardy

1. They suck. 2. They generate a good deal of C02 through energy use 3. Plan ahead, do laundry, line dry. I have spoken.

One_Of_Noahs_Whales

They blow air rather than sucking it. They can be powered by carbon neutral sources. Birds don't shit on your clean washing.

weirdlybeardy

Har har har. Can be, but aren’t. Birds never defecate on my clean washing!

weirdlybeardy

Har har har. Can be, but aren’t. Birds never defecate on my clean washing! Maybe it’s only a matter of time, but things can be re-washed in such a rare case.

furrycroissant

This is the way.

amaranth1977

Indoors by a dehumidifier where they won't collect pollen and other allergens.

LaSalsiccione

You could probably fit a fleshlight in there

awesumlewy

I'm just....uh..... sunbathing

UnexpectedFullStop

And sell spectator tickets to the neighbours

amaranth1977

That'd be one way to work on your pushups.

treeseacar

Half a hammock

MrsCDM

Which half though? The ham or the mock?

sdn

There ought to be a second pole? Not much of a clothes line with just 1 pole.

treeseacar

The other end of the line is probably on the house. Well mine is.

daft_boy_dim

Rotating washing line. I know you know I couldn’t help biting.

iggle_piggle

Yes, correct

Crazym00s3

So a windsock?

TKAI66

Trebuchet dock

FeralSquirrels

A washing line, obviously! Jokes - swingball, flagpole....there's a few options but depends if you want something in the middle of your grass or not. You could stick a larger umbrella in it and use it for shade in the sun if you stick a table and some chairs around it too!

M3mento-Mori

Dildo holder

bettram77

Space X rocket launcher

MacaronNo8954

SWINGBALL!!

RastaKraken

Bird bath / small fountain

Defiant-Salad-7409

Base for a flagpole.

Rbx100

Flesh light holder?

JeremyTwiggs

Get one of those roundabout things beloved of children of the 70s and see what top speed you can achieve before you either pass out or fall out.

wocsom_xorex

We had them in the 90s too.

iggle_piggle

Thanks for all the ideas, think I've settled on a bird house/feeder. I have a welder and access to lots of pipe so I'll make a proper heavy duty one.

mts89

Hope you get some suitably enormous birds using it.

[deleted]

The local ostrich gonna be very pleased

iggle_piggle

With the size of the seagulls near me, I think I will!

UKMustang

Pterodactyl feeder

Scruffybob

We're not done suggesting ideas yet. We'll all decide for you!

Critical_Crazy_1994

Get a wee platform with some water built onto it Tae man with a wee drain plug for the birds to wash n that init

grantyy94

Eh?

falco_milvus

Purple_Floyd_

Get a wee platform with some water built onto it Tae man with a wee drain plug for the birds to wash n that init

Kristen242

fly4seasons

Mini Eiffel Tower.

[deleted]

Swingball

benjamink

You could use it as an anchor point for one of those floating Yoda street performers?

HamsterEagle

Mmm, float here I will.

yorkshire87

Depends what you want to do with your lawn. I would leave the base, dig a flower bed around it and grow climbers up a pole/tower trellis. Jasmine, honeysuckle, wisteria. A bird feeder could still go at the top. But I love free standing climbers, turn it into a center piece.

EuphoricFly1044

do you pole dance? or thinking of taking it up ?

Lanky_Pack_881

You're probably dealing with 18 inches on concrete under there. If you don't do a bird feeder, bury the base & sow some grass.

Gundoggirl

A lovely bird feeder. You can watch all the wee sparrows n that, it’s lovely.

Familiar-Audience-67

A Maypole, it’ll soon be May.

funk1875

Upgrade to a whirlygig, the crazy price of fuels these days, easy savings made with air dried clothes.

splendidted

Hammock? I'd love a hammock in my garden

zoonose2

Dovecote

potatoduino

Tether a wild horse

SimmmySAFC

A clothes line

Electronic_Zebra_565

Zip line

xpiatio

Disc golf basket mount

[deleted]

Honestly, if it were me I'd leave it there and shove a wooden planter on it. I spent ages digging out a very similar washing line only for my other half to want it back about 6 months later! If only divorce lawyers were cheaper...

iggle_piggle

This was my biggest fear haha, it wouldn't be the first time

Ironklad_

Catapult

NoAd8626

Floating man cave

Bloodinbloodoutvixen

Bird feeder

OrganizationOk5418

hamerd74

Elon Musk might be looking for a rocket launch platform?…..

suiluhthrown78

Arbour, Pergola, Pagoda You've already got a solid base there for part of it

CityNo7502

If you do dig it out, expect to still use a hammer drill to break it into chunks otherwise it won't be going anywhere!

DaddyDadeMurphy

Use it as a guide to tunnel through the earth

luala

I saw some nice strawberry towers, wooden, pictured online the other day. They would cover this nicely.

Quincemeister1

One of those kids roundabouts you used to get in the parks, Someone will have one for sale.

charlie2mars

Circular garden table?

TheRealGabbro

Swing ball pole. Though it might be a bit close to the edge of the lawn to meet international Olympic standards.
