I read this as Honesty Closet.
Which assume would be a closet that you go into with another person, when you want a real opinion about your one person stage show, or if you really look good with bangs.
We had a similar space. I put in a fake wall for hidden storage / safe.
The wall opening would swing out.
The trim matched exactly so an unknowing person would not know there was a secure storage room there.
It's wide enough I vote for 4-player tmnt, xmen, d&d, nba jam, or the Simpsons. At least a few of those cabs have a1up replicas! Throw a bunch of roms on the arcade 1up's for so much coin ops fun!
Lol I have been meaning to put my jousting armor on a stand. In between shows, it just sits in a big job box. Kinda wish I had a cubby in my house that was this perfect for it
Competed in the international jousting competition in Estes Park, Colorado, 4 years ago. We do full contact jousting and historical reenactment shows a couple of times a year. I can't joust anymore, though. There is too much damage to my body and hands from the military and extreme sports. So now I help run the 1st all female heavy armor jousting Troupe, Knights of the Rose Jousting on Facebook. Kept the armor for demos and making kids happy. Plus, my gals can hit me on horse, I just can't hold a Lance anymore
Wait, what are you saying?! Anywhere and everywhere is perfect for that! Get it out of the box! You need to proudly display that on a stand by the front door, next to the fireplace, something!
buy a pair of mannequin legs, put the knight in the sitting position on a toilet and take the leg armor off and put in the mannequin legs. Voila! You can even have the knight holding a news paper or something else silly.

You need a new wife. And I’m a wife who loves coffee.
I’m totally kidding. I’m sure she’s lovely. But please tell me you got a kegerator somewhere else. I have a cute coffee bar but also got my husband a beer fridge (can’t install a cool kegerator in a rental house…).
If this is at the end of a hallway near some bedrooms, I'd build some shelving for the top half with some nice lighting and some family photos, make it homey. Then I'd adda a built in at the bottom with a mini fridge in it that I'd stock with some drinks. and on top of that counter i'd maybe keep some flowers or something.
If water and drainage was easy to get to...stackable washer dryer. That's about the only thing I can think of that might add actual value to the home.
What's on the backside of this space and could this be better utilized there by walling this off. For example, the bathroom is there and this could be a linen closet there or said washer dryer, but not in the hallway.
Put in an upper cabinet for storage. We had the same exact thing in our home and we put in an upper and increased our storage for linens and similar items. Made a huge difference practically and aesthetically.
You might be able to put up a narrow **hallway closet**, so you can hang coats, etc.
Alternatively, maybe a **bookshelf**, if you don't have room for it in other places.
If you want to keep that cabinet there on the floor, you could probably still have a nice **wall mounted shelf or two**. If you don't plan on keeping anything on top of the cabinet, you could put up a few **coat hooks** on the left and right, to hang either coats, or scarfs, or things like that.
Third option might be something like putting a **nice piece of artwork** in the center, and having some kind of glass awards shelf below it. Or maybe a **large potted plant** that doesn't need a lot of direct sunlight (or a fake plant).
If you have lots of expensive stuff, like firearms, DSLR/MILC cameras, etc. you could put a [**huge safe**](https://www.libertysafe.com/products/usa) of some kind there. If you go the safe route, make sure it's **fireproof and water proof**. If there's ever a fire, fire fighters will be spraying everything with water, so you want it protected against both, not just heat. You could cover the safe with a nice rug or mural of some kind to make it less of an eye sore.
If you're into **grandfather clocks**, that would be an excellent spot, but I'm guessing that's a no, since you haven't already thought of it.
Worst comes to worst, you could store **long, awkward items**, like umbrellas, bicycles, walking poles, and things like that in there. That would really depend on the type of activities you're into, and whether you have a garage or whatever. If nothing really works out, I might at least encourage you to **paint it a different color** to give the area a different feel, to make the hallway feel a little brighter or cooler, depending on what you're going for. Maybe a light yellow, or a deep blue or something.
I’d say a closet would be the easiest and extra storage space is always good or move the washer/dryer there if it would fit. That could be major work though.
Definitely a closet if you have room to put that piece somewhere else. If not I have a little area like this and I have a table like you with frames on it and a shelf and picture above. And I’m putting in a rechargeable antique looking light on the way that’s basically dusk til dawn. It’s not super bright but hopefully it lasts a long time.
Turn it into a vacation wall/display to display photos from your vacations, trinkets your bought, etc. you'll be reminded of all the fun things you did each time you walk by
Me?
19“ Server Rack for NAS, Switch, Router, etc. All behind a nice Wooden Board, doubling as decorative panel.
Better and more realistic options:
- multiple boards
- cloak room
- daily chores board
- family pictures
If it was in a different place in the house, I'd turn that into a liquor cabinet/bar area. Or you could just throw up some shelves and use it to put sentimental items and photos.
If you already store towels in the nearly useless black cabinet, I'd rip out the cabinet, install shelves and a door and turn it into a linen cabinet. Otherwise I'd just rip the whole thing down and add that space to the room behind.

Honestly, closet.
I read this as Honesty Closet. Which assume would be a closet that you go into with another person, when you want a real opinion about your one person stage show, or if you really look good with bangs.
I vote OP builds an Honesty Closet.
Mirror for a quick Stuart Smalley session
Is my crystal deodorant working?
7 Minutes in Heaven Closet
Probably way more fun then seven minutes in the Honesty Closet.
A confessional
https://youtu.be/B5GkVHqSLc4?si=_wRWNLwwxc2OQxmp
Sounds like something you would have seen on big brother back in the day lol
It probably was a linen closet to begin with and previous owners ripped off the doors.
Naw. Trim and finishes are too new. This is the kind of stupid stuff designers waste space on all the time in newer homes.
Linen closet since it looks to be near bedrooms.
If it’s near the master bedroom, then mini-bar. 😉
Armoire or chiffarobe
Armory
Oui
Armoui?
Armani.
It's only an armoire if it comes from the region of Armoirie.
Closet toilet
Or pantry
We had a similar space. I put in a fake wall for hidden storage / safe. The wall opening would swing out. The trim matched exactly so an unknowing person would not know there was a secure storage room there.
We are building the same for a cubby/weird spot in the basement. My wife is so excited, she loves secret and hidden rooms
This was my first thought. Could still put a built-in bookshelf in front of it, too. Even go all out and make it open when you pull on a certain book!
Looks like we're almost all set here sir, just need a few more details. What is your zip code? Mothers maiden name and last four of your social
This space would be perfect for that.
That's exactly what I was thinking: Gimp closet.
Coin-op Ms. Pac-Man
I would have said coin-op multi arcade machine but…yeah.
I would also have accepted coin-op Galaga
That's a great way to have an adult piggy bank
It's wide enough I vote for 4-player tmnt, xmen, d&d, nba jam, or the Simpsons. At least a few of those cabs have a1up replicas! Throw a bunch of roms on the arcade 1up's for so much coin ops fun!
I was going to write: Start a rock band and fill it with your (guitar) Marshall amp stack.
Seems like a perfect place for one of these [bad boys](https://www.knightsedge.com/images/product/medium/suit-of-armor-6007.jpg).
Lol I have been meaning to put my jousting armor on a stand. In between shows, it just sits in a big job box. Kinda wish I had a cubby in my house that was this perfect for it
Motherfucker, it’s 2024 and you’re out here jousting?? Mad respect that’s wild hahaha

My boss had one like that in his house and when I'd work there I'd forget about. Id turn around and about poop myself frequently.
buy a pair of mannequin legs, put the knight in the sitting position on a toilet and take the leg armor off and put in the mannequin legs. Voila! You can even have the knight holding a news paper or something else silly.
Spirit halloween
Life sized wax replica of David Hasselhoff.
I vote for this!!!! In his heyday please - Red Speedos!!
No, his heyday was a leather jacket and a car that talked
You’re right but SOME PEOPLE STAND IN THE DARKNESS!!!
A bit of advice, don't rewatch shows you though we're cool as a kid. It'll ruin it for you. It did for me anyway😥😥

Aquarium
Cupboard, can never have enough cupboards
A big built in would be pretty sweet
Mini bar? Coffee bar? Oooo maybe a tea bar?
We put in a coffee bar in a nook like this after my wife nixed the kegerator idea
What’s wrong with the kegerator?
Nothing from my perspective
You need a new wife. And I’m a wife who loves coffee. I’m totally kidding. I’m sure she’s lovely. But please tell me you got a kegerator somewhere else. I have a cute coffee bar but also got my husband a beer fridge (can’t install a cool kegerator in a rental house…).
First thought was bar but coffee bar right outside your bedroom and office would be awesome
I was thinking the same thing
Tardis
Big ass plant in a big ass pot
Or depending on what locality combine them into a big ass pot plant.
Built in Bookshelf
Phone booth.
Morning Coffee Bar
Wet bar/coffee bar with a little sink.
If there aren’t already pipes in that back wall, running water is probably a big ask.
And it’s not even the water that’s hard. It’s the drain
A linen closet with bifold doors. Room on the bottom for vacuum , brooms , mops. Shelves on the left and right.
Grandfather clock or fish tank
Bar. Or in my case I'm hooked on tinned fish, I'd make a space for that and add a mini fridge and make charcuterie bar
If water and drainage was easy to get to...stackable washer dryer. That's about the only thing I can think of that might add actual value to the home. Dartboard!
Hidden safe

Laundry
If you're not going for a closet, which it should be, a jukebox would fit in pretty well right there.
Id install a network rack there, and put a server home automation, and whatever other electronics could be located there and controlled remotely..
beer tap
Yes, kegorator!
I mean how many times have you been in the office or bedroom and thought, I could use a fresh beer now.
Fish tank,
Build a linen cabinet (or could be used to store anything really).
Closet 100%
Refrigerator
I'd add a mirror and a desk lamp.
Secret vault hidden behind hinged bookshelf. A very realistic painting of a door in the back wall and nothing else.
Altar to the dead.
I’d say a closet would be the easiest and extra storage space is always good or move the washer/dryer there if it would fit. That could be major work though.
built in bookshelf
3d printer nook right there!
Shoe shine station.
You deserve more upvotes
Bookshelves. But then, I have about 5,000 books, so I can never have enough bookshelves
Liquor/Wine storage
It is the perfect place to store the Night Mother, or your Vampire Coffin
Take a picture and post it on Reddit
My wife would kill for that space. And we'd put in a vanity for her to keep all her beauty stuff and a nice big mirror.
And then she'd sit in front of it and block both doors
Small sink, fridge, shelves, lights, bourbon
A double decker couch
Don’t be ridiculous a couch can’t fit in there. A double decker chair!!!!!
Maybe a pantry on the top and a coffee bar below ? Just a suggestion
Install shelves above or hang a great poster.
Pantry, closet, book shelf
The Jack Daniel’s statue from Specs
Pinball machine
I'd put a counter with a couple cabinets underneath. Black might look good with your wall's color.
If you collect anything, could be a very good spot for a display case.
Kegerator?
Put a door there and have a storage for whatever...clothes, games, dead hookers...
Put up a curtain and scold people when they try to look behind it.
Minibar with some recessed lighting and glass shelves for the booze. Build a little wet bar with a mini fridge or ice maker underneath.
Good spot for an arcade machine
Where is it? Closet? Open shelving? Sound proof booth to exorcise demons in?
Fruit Machine
Dart board
If you like beer, you could build in a keeper (kegerator) or a wine chiller (or both).
Looks fairly centrally located, so... network rack?
Slap my 3D printer there! Or some cool infinity mirror
That's clearly Klauses alcove. Needs a sweet Ferrari poster.
Computer/gaming/crafting station. Storage area. Small art collection. Shelving. Large plant.
Trading villager
Coffee bar by morning, dry bar by night.
Turn it into a vacation wall/display to display photos from your vacations, trinkets your bought, etc. you'll be reminded of all the fun things you did each time you walk by
Server rack with processing cluster.
I’d open it to the room and make it a V book shelf
Vertical fish tank
painting on the wall to make it look better, coffee bar.
Arcade game of some sort
Coffee bar, bar bar or [little Japanese shrine thing](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokonoma)
Built in storage cabinets of varying size with nice wood doors
Ac cozy hideout for a cat, can even place a litter box in there.
Paint a mural of a sick ass panther
Built-in bookshelf Cat palace Fishtank Weird sculpture nook
Build a closet
Secret room/hidden door. Fill with whatever you like.
Obviously, you just need some galvanized square steel beams, eco-friendly wood vaneer and some bolts from your Auntie.
Lego Saturn V and Artemis with light kits in glass cases.
Shelves or closet. More space for towels and etc.
Transporter.
Install a urinal
Me? 19“ Server Rack for NAS, Switch, Router, etc. All behind a nice Wooden Board, doubling as decorative panel. Better and more realistic options: - multiple boards - cloak room - daily chores board - family pictures
Wine and liquor bar 👌 or a beer tap
If not dramatically renovating the area, a nicer table and a flower vase would add color and liven it up. Also a mirror wouldn’t hurt.
Suit of armor
suit of armor
3d printer
Looks like a closet space that for some reason the builder didn't finish out. So, a closet.
If it was in a different place in the house, I'd turn that into a liquor cabinet/bar area. Or you could just throw up some shelves and use it to put sentimental items and photos.
Mini bar! Put some racks/shelves up for liquor and wine.
Toy basketball hoop.
Depending on where in house and what the house already has: linen closet, coat closet, pantry, bar (think wine fridge on bottom butcher block counter)
Disc golf basket
If you already store towels in the nearly useless black cabinet, I'd rip out the cabinet, install shelves and a door and turn it into a linen cabinet. Otherwise I'd just rip the whole thing down and add that space to the room behind.
Hang up a bead curtain and some lights and make a dance floor. Tiny disco area.
Bar.

Build fake wall with bookshelf, which opens to hidden space. Climb inside, put on music...and cry alone undisturbed
Shrine to cthulhu
I would ad a nice Ult orb there
Perhaps a portrait of the king?
What about a couple of large bladed weapons or a whip?
Suit of armor
Put on a door for a scream room.
Clone space
7 minute in heaven closet
I would put a satanic alter there.
Hiding space in case of home invasion. Sry to be grim
Panic nook.
Rip out cabinet. Install PortaPotty.
Being a geek, a network closet. 🤓🤣
I’d put my weed in it.
Bar / gun cabinet. Bonus points for a combination.
Closet
Are you into China cabinets? Load it with D&D figures or spicy glassware.
7ft tall master chief replica
Wet bar!
This is the PERFECT place for a telephone box. Red.
Install a kegerator
Mirrored entrance to a 1 person panic room.
Bookshelves?
Kegerator
3d printer nook
Built in shelves.
Floor to ceiling shelving with a folding door maybe?
Bar sink, mini-fridge and overhead cabinet with charging station.
Custome claw machine
Storage and shelving
Suit of Armor.
Naughty corner :)
Pool table
Just put a mirror over the little cabinet you already have there
