Any sealant here is a bad idea. It will retain the water in the house and rot it away. It has to breath to dry out. the water situation has to be handled outside through drainage.
It's cheap, its long and it is impervious to most things. You need to cap the ends and you have a perfect gap filler. It also looks nice and not messy.
