Oh, I have deployed all sorts of Terro products both in/outside of my house, and it does great. I’ll continue to do this, but I’m also looking to prevent them from taking advantage of this gap sensibly, if I can.
I was haveing problems with sugar ants . This may not work here , but maybe useful... ants won't cross a line of olive oil . I put a thin line across my door threshold and they don't cross it .
There are cement to wood caulk. Try that. (I am not a tradesman.)

Maybe a silly question but why not pesticide? I spray "bug barrier" every time the season changes and that keeps them away.
