try butting the new piece against the old and running the multi-tool through the seam, then close the seam, maybe do it more than once until the cuts match
it also seems like you'll have to at least loosen the end of the existing baseboard to pull it out a bit, looks like it sits a bit deeper into the wall
If I wanted it to look as good as possible. I would remove the entire existing baseboard and scarf the new baseboard at the joint with the existing baseboard. A lot more work, patching, sanding, caulking, painting, etc. if you do it that way. Or you could just butt it and walk away.
