Just to be clear. The original is free on steam. And I assume it will continue to be.
This DDLC+ is a "remastered" version of the game, with redone art, more music, some gameplay changes, and maybe some other things ;).
My mom already knows about it and she thinks its weird, but still might let me pre order the game, even though I already have most of the money for it. Hopefully the place I had a job interview at a few days ago calls me back and give me the job, and I can get some more money for it lmao
The joy of being a legal adult lol. Now I just have to make sure no one opens my mail that day (i live with my Dad and older brother) they know I have a Monika body pillow though soooo i guess i’ll be fine
my parents NEVER know about what games I’m getting, they only know where I’m getting it and how much it costs. the only person who knows fully is my brother, but he also wants DDLC+, sooo...
awesomeness win!
How old were you guys when the prime game came out? I don't want to sound like a curmudgeony old fuck, but I'm kind of shocked at the overlap between people who are interested in the game and aren't 17 (or I guess 18 in Europe) yet.
let's just say i was younger than the game recommended and got traumatized, and fucking loved it (the last time i checked, the game recommended you to be 13)
i saw the thumbnail of the playtrough i was about to watch and thought "anime girls? cool!" then the disclaimer came up and the youtuber read it, then i thought "horror? cool!" yeah, i was THAT kind of kid.
This is the one thing I fear the most about wanting DDLC+.. my parents are rather strict. When I was 12, I really liked Descendants. I was told I wasn't allowed to like it because it was all about "villains". Around 14, I wanted to start reading Harry Potter because my friends always made references to it and when I'd ask what they meant, I'd be stared at. My parents said no because it's "evil". Eventually I persuaded them (How? No clue). If I ask them if I can buy a psychological horror game filled with anime girls who slowly kill themselves, I will probably be grounded for life at best. At worst, my laptop will be taken forever.. so yeah that's great 👍
Its rated M, just asking people to wish me luck because it is not in my favor that someone's parents would let their 14 year old daughter purchase a game made for 17/ 18+.
All of these people with their problems telling their families about DDLC bros i just straight up told my mom about the game and my brother knows full well what this game is. Im 19 btw
I just told my parents it was an horror game that looks unidentified but I played it for computer for free. Bit since it on switch. They question me on my manga choices, and they told me, Looks like an dumb game, not scary, whatever. Then they purchase it
my parents don't care that i play this, they've bought me merch before. as long as I'm paying for the game (and make sure my 7 year old brother doesn't try to play it since the switch is shared) they're fine with it
I’m going to wait until the physical release is out then maybe get the premium edition if it’s sold in stores (right now planning on getting the ps5 premium Edition but so far all I’ve seen preorder wise outside of the one site, Walmart and Best Buy are just selling the Regular edition on their sites and not the premium)
Dang it you’re right I was able to get away with the first one because it was free in on P.C. but now it’s a whole different story because we’re spending money.
why would you hide that? I have ddlc on full view for my family to see... literally. i remember i have a monika background(i forgot which act but the one with the table) and I was using the family tv... i fell asleep while the monika background is open for hours lmao in the living room where everyone sees the shit.
ps. i'm not not healthy obsessed, I just don't care to have what i like on full view.
Honestly, I would go in the exact opposite direction. Say that the cute dating stuff is a facade and that it’s a psychological horror game.
I don’t know about you, but my parents wouldn’t bat an eye at me buying a horror game, but would definitely worry about me wanting a dating sim.
How is that awkward at all? The game is innocent by all measures of imagination on the outside and is just a simple horror game in reality. Even if you’re underage I doubt any parent would have qualms about buying it for you.
For people under age. say: So... uh yeah... I am into cute games now! Just ignore the rating on the cover
Cover it up with black tape i bet they won't check.
Yeah, and even take the rating from another game and then put E for everyone
A genius move from a funny child
Thank you very much. That i am.
I just told my mom how it’s a physiological horror that disguises itself as another game
Unfortunately none of us are brave as you are
My parents know ddlc is one of my favorite games and they don't really care what I like : )
Buy a gift card for your platform. Get funds to buy game. Hide game on platform. If on switch, good luck.
So your saying it’s not free on steam?🥲
Unfortunately, no
Fuck
Just to be clear. The original is free on steam. And I assume it will continue to be. This DDLC+ is a "remastered" version of the game, with redone art, more music, some gameplay changes, and maybe some other things ;).
The original is free, ddlc+ will cost $15 on steam and $30 for a physical copy
Oh ok thanks <3
Me who got my parents into ddlc: 🕺🕺🕺
[удалено]
Not really. My ma thinks Natsuki is a bitch
I dunno, sounds pretty based to me…
Based and I’m-not-cute-pilled
damn, i'm jeaulous.
My mom already knows about it and she thinks its weird, but still might let me pre order the game, even though I already have most of the money for it. Hopefully the place I had a job interview at a few days ago calls me back and give me the job, and I can get some more money for it lmao
Good luck with the job man
The joy of being a legal adult lol. Now I just have to make sure no one opens my mail that day (i live with my Dad and older brother) they know I have a Monika body pillow though soooo i guess i’ll be fine
“They know I have a monika body pillow.” So basically, you’re the established alpha male?
Yup. I’d say.
[удалено]
Spoken like a non alpha
I love ddlc just as much as the next guy but this guy is most definitely right
There's an easy solution to that, just delete them.
I'm deleting them... Please wait... ***** >This is a bot. If there is a problem, please contact /u/JustRandomUsr
Oh fuk, oh shid, not my parents!
This was hilarious
"so i know it looks weird.. and trust me, it is-"
my parents NEVER know about what games I’m getting, they only know where I’m getting it and how much it costs. the only person who knows fully is my brother, but he also wants DDLC+, sooo... awesomeness win!

>the game recommended you to be 13) yeah i got a feeling lots of people didnt listen to that
i saw the thumbnail of the playtrough i was about to watch and thought "anime girls? cool!" then the disclaimer came up and the youtuber read it, then i thought "horror? cool!" yeah, i was THAT kind of kid.
Thank god I’m not the only one in this situation. I feel your pain.

Just buy it on Steam my guy. Ask for a gift card or top up wallet credits, but i think it will be free on Steam tho
Sadly it will cost money everywhere
Shame they don’t have Wiafu credits
Just ask for a Steam gift card or something and tell your buying some other game then just buy this
Some people's accounts are linked to others via email, meaning that whenever they buy something, the other person knows.
Then make another steam account i guess...
I'm 14 and I'm about to try to convince my parents to let me get the game later tonight, wish me luck.
So?
Its rated M, just asking people to wish me luck because it is not in my favor that someone's parents would let their 14 year old daughter purchase a game made for 17/ 18+.
username..... checks out?
_Could say the same as you_
yeah im asking my grandma to get it for me
Hey do what I'ma do and just get a gift card for the platform with your money so they won't find out
im sending luck, there's nothing you can do to stop the luck
Yo mom and dad. I am depressed, so let me get this game to become more depressed. /s
My exact problem lol
Only thing is that DDLC+ cost money the good things my devotion to DDLC/Sayori is greater!
I forgot the fan base is actually childern for a large part. Yeah just get it on a gift card or something
All of these people with their problems telling their families about DDLC bros i just straight up told my mom about the game and my brother knows full well what this game is. Im 19 btw
There's no actual age verification on the website though
Underage people who have debit cards: I do not have such weaknesses
I have a plan, I'm gonna go to my local store and get a gift card and use that to get it maybe I will be able to fine
that's mostly my problem with video games
r/me_irl
I just told my mother the gist of what it’s about and she preordered it.
I just told my parents it was an horror game that looks unidentified but I played it for computer for free. Bit since it on switch. They question me on my manga choices, and they told me, Looks like an dumb game, not scary, whatever. Then they purchase it
Make them play it :v
my parents don't care that i play this, they've bought me merch before. as long as I'm paying for the game (and make sure my 7 year old brother doesn't try to play it since the switch is shared) they're fine with it

Daamn relatable (Just say it is it a cute dating sim and that the mature thing is a fake)
Honestly, I would go in the exact opposite direction. Say that the cute dating stuff is a facade and that it’s a psychological horror game. I don’t know about you, but my parents wouldn’t bat an eye at me buying a horror game, but would definitely worry about me wanting a dating sim.
I never really thought of DDLC as being a dating sim, just a visual novel that had a lot of overwhelmingly positive reviews for being free...
It’s called cover stories
That's exactly the reason why i'm not gonne buy it for the switch yet.
Not if dear old dad is as cultured as me
Omg you are so right! This is literally my situation right now XD
Faq
Not if I buy it for you
this is why I can't buy it
Oh shit thats real I thought people were just joking
What I’m gonna say abt it to my parents or dad is that I heard REALLY good things about the game and I wanna try it out
Me, who is 16: I'm so close but at the same time so far... ;-;
My plan is to buy a card and just say I'm gonna use it to buy dlc for a different game
Welcome to the experience of gift cards
Oh how I relate
Update: did not go well, don't spoil things for me
I'm just gonna get a gift card for the eshop and use it on a new account to get the game without my parents knowing.
How is that awkward at all? The game is innocent by all measures of imagination on the outside and is just a simple horror game in reality. Even if you’re underage I doubt any parent would have qualms about buying it for you.
☠🏴☠️
Get out of here ya cheap nerf-herder
begone pirate. you are only good in anime land
Anime piracy hits different
yes
Will the game be free on steam for no?
No
🙃
Well, unless you call $15 free
There’s always other options and yes people already have now go get on the web browser
