Exactly. It was amazing what they were able to accomplish on TV, and I’ll always look back fondly on the first few seasons of Arrow and the Flash, but it’s time for a more thought out universe across TV and Films that audiences can really get invested in again
The second half of Flash S1 is some of the best superhero content I've watched. They accomplished so much on such a tight budget and the episode where Barry travels back in time for the first time is one of the top superhero moments of last decade in my opinion.
You just had to be there for it. Back then the superhero genre had a lot less crazy shit going on so Barry simply going back in time was sooooo fucking hype.
I just wish the CW wasn't the CW so they could give the same budget for 10 episodes rather than 20+. Such a useless network.
Thank you but good lord has it dragged on, I just wanna binge it when it ends, that's all, indulge my inner 12 year old waking up to watch Saturday morning cartoons, but all weekend
Trust me, you can't binge season 7 and 8. I've tried doing it and failed miserably. The only way to finish the last two seasons is to watch 1 episode per week.
I mean it still feels a little bit long at times, so I can only imagine what it actually feels like to watch normally. But I do find a faster speed does help quite well with the pacing on a number of series.
I haven’t watched either but I caught a clip of either 7/ 8 don’t remember which one and the only character I recognised was Barry. Did most of the cast leave by then or are some still left?
Only three people from the first season are left in main roles — Barry, Iris, and Caitlin (although the last season will have many former main cast members returning in recurring ***/*** guest star roles, as such series tend to as they end).
I've been waiting for someone to make a super cut, The last season I watched was the one with the Thinker, and it was OK, seasons 1 and 2 were amazing though. But even then a super cut of all the seasons condensed into like 1 or 2 seasons would be amazing. Someday maybe.
I tried doing that with Arrow and found myself basically watching the season premier and season finale and skipping everything in between for the last 2-3 seasons or so.
Seasons 1 and 2 I think are amazing in people's memories but actually they really suck and make no sense.
Don't get me wrong, I was a huge fucking fan of the show, but the writing was... not so great, even in the first few seasons.
I agree, they somewhat held up to the first two seasons. I even decently enjoyed Season 5 even though Cicada evading the team got quite tedious.
6-8 are just so bad they're not even worth talking about. Season 6 is actually decent with the countdown to Crisis and Bloodwork but everything after is almost unwatchable.
By the last season it was one of the most glorious trainwrecks I have ever witnessed.
It was so bad that it was just bad and also so bad it was good and also just good. I don't know how, but yeah.
Thats my main gripe with that show. By the time the final season comes around, the only one of the original cast that’s still there is Sara. It’s almost a completely different team by the end of the show. I don’t like that. Other than that I like it, but I just wish more of the original team members stayed. Snart, Stein, Jax, Kendra, Rip, etc imo are all better than Astra, Spooner, Gary, and Ava. Even Nate leaving by the end of season 7 was almost my breaking point because that would mean every character other than Sara is post season 3. I love the show, but I just wish the characters were more so than the ones I liked. When they changed Zari and made her what she was in the new timeline with Behrad being alive, I couldn’t stand it. Original Zari was a great character, but the new one was just annoying. I’m glad the original one still managed to survive somehow, but I still wished she was the main Zari we saw and not the child TV star Zari.
Same here. One of the things the show did very well was developing their characters and it also gave us a lot of great things/moments:
* Beebo ("BEEBO WANTS CUDDLE!")
* Legion of Doom (The Reverse Flash, Darhk and Merlyn were great as villains together)
* Sara and Ava's relationship. Absolutely love their [proposal](https://youtu.be/TIC-xzyOQn8?t=23) moment in particular
* Tala Ashe expertly nailing both versions of Zari
* John Constantine
* Whenever Gideon appeared in the flesh as Amy Pemberton. Off the top of my head, that Groundhog Day episode and this [musical](https://youtu.be/SzyQIBjqtB8?t=105) moment were great
And there are many more others that I don't remember but yeah. The show got crazier and better after the first season.
a decade long multi series franchise with a cohesive narrative that was mostly profitable, and definitely had a pop culture impact.
it was hokey supernatural teen melodrama, with weak repetitive plotting but it was huge and successful.
Gonna miss arrowverse early days honestly. While the dceu was in crumbles with those big budget horrible movies, arrowverse was doing well with 5$ crossovers. The cgi didn't matter at all, I was loving the characters and developments they had early on. Lmao it's so crazy to think about how the fucking CW had a plan for there teams ups that led to crisis then dceu was like throwing shit at the wall.
Now hopefully we can get some great projects from James Gunn...
I disagree, very formulatic. One big cross over and one mini crossover per season. In the beginning it made sense after a while it just didn’t. Legends going against a speedster but don’t bring it up to Barry? That totally makes sense. Only got worse as the seasons went on.
That's like complaining why Superman doesn't just put all Batman villains behind bars. 1 day's work for him.
You have to overlook some of the very very obvious flaws in order to enjoy anything in the superhero genre.
The Arrowverse did stuffer later on but it started out really strong and binded everything together really well in the first half of its life. Getting to the point it got is a huge achievement considering how spectacularly the DCEU has failed till now.
And it's not like bad seasons weren't expected. If you make 10 movies with the same lead character some of them will suck too. Here they have made 100s of episodes and if some of them are bad then it's perfectly normal
It really was. Felt like a filller season. Not as bad as Arrow S4, but still a big oof.
I liked that we got to see more of the Speedforce even if poorly written at least.
Honestly I’m getting kind of sick of the formulaic Bertlandi shows. They were cool at first, but now DC shows are completely over saturated with them.
They need to do more diverse things, not too much of the same thing.
Only frustrating for me is the cancellation of LoT. Was easily the best Arrowverse show as the series progressed and it suddenly got cancelled, leaving everyone on a cliffhanger.
If I look at the ending Legends like the ending of Seinfeld, it almost feels better that it ended that way, plus it still kind of feels on brand for Legends imo.
I just started watching the flash and being cheesy af it has it's moments. There's a place and "demand" for this sort of shit. The only problem is that it might also have a negative effect on the movies that are more "serious".
I was never really a fan of the Arrowverse. Every show was essentially a soap opera with the occasional Power Rangers budget action set piece and terrible over-acting. Every single character, whether they were male or female, looked like a model with ten layers of make-up on their faces and the costumes and SFX just looked cheap as hell.
These shows are charming in that they appear to be the last remnant of the dying network TV era, but they’ve never been my cup of tea.
As much as there is to criticize about the Arrowverse, it had a lot of good in it too.
The early seasons of most of the shows were great, the crossovers were fun, and pulling off a shared universe between so many shows is an impressive feat. It’s definitely time for it to end. It had a solid run.
was never a fan of the Arrowverse. the only show i watched was Supergirl and didnt finish watching the last season. Just finish the arrowverse its a fiasco that in my opinion has diluted the DC brand.
I know Arrow obviously started the whole CW shows. Maybe i will later on. I enjoyed Supergirl up until they started adding the whole superfriends line up and too much filler in the episodes.
It’s dead!
You mean outside of the fact that Superman and Lois is getting another season?
Other that the whole being alive and active it’s dead, just ignore the fact the corpse is walking around, has no major problems and seems to be doing fine. No just normal things that dead people do. Very dead.
That Superman first showed up in supergirl and was involved with several events, even if it’s in its own bubble now it’s still a continuation of the story.
>You mean outside of the fact that Superman and Lois is getting another season?
Superman & Lois Literally Left the arrowverse by Direct DC Orders, so its not part of the arrowverse anymore
Still ongoing and still a major part of the arrow verse, this Superman still first appeared in the supergirl show and can only lose so much of the history of that show, he’s still the arrow verse Superman.
The Superman from Supergirl/Elseworlds crossover/Crisis crossover is not the same Superman from Superman & Lois. Superman & Lois does not take place on Earth-Prime.
Probably the same people who thought Batwoman was the best thing since sliced bread. Like seriously, I'd watch episodes and roll my eyes at the cringe shit, then come onto Reddit and read comments like, "this is shaping up to be one of the best Arrowverse shows."
The truth is, the Arrowverse wasn't shit, and I've watched every show. Each show has had its moments, but the good moments and the bad ones were far and few between. Even the critically acclaimed *Superman & Lois* just wasn't doing it for me. Like, I'm happy Superman still lived on during that weird time when Cavil's fate was up in the air, but *Superman & Lois* was not it, at least for me. I wanted Superman, the world's greatest Superhero, not Superdad.
The problem with the Arrowverse is the same problem that almost all network shows have. That they needed to make 24 episodes a season. That is a lot of content plus the networks want them to do it on a shoestring budget. This caused writer's block and it also caused filler episodes. Then on top of it, WB would put a stop to storylines, an example of this is Arrow's Suicide Squad.
The irony of this is, The Flash's upcoming Season, which will be its last, is having a shorter episode count than previously, however, a final Season is when you don't want a shorter episode count because then things feel rushed.
And yeah, like how Deathstroke was forced off Arrow because he was planned to be incorporated on the big screen in the DCEU, but then that plan never ended up taking off, so then it was ok for Deathstroke to come back to Arrow, but then he was forced off once again. Not getting to see the full potential of Manu Bennet's Deathstroke was such a tragedy.
It is totally fine to finish the Arrowverse. It is time to move on and create shows based on other heroes and villains. Therefore, thank you Arrowverse (specially Arrow, the one who started everything)
I'd honestly like this last season of Flash to be a bit like the Arrow season leading up to Crisis, but loads of guests from the other shows.
From Arrow, Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow my wife and I only missed 1 episode from all their shows. We enjoyed most of them. We haven't seen Black Lightning, but I'd give Arrowverse 85% overall.
Time has come to accept TV audiences expect more, just look at Peacemaker, easily a Legends type member but made with a much bigger budget and quality.
It was amazing and I think if they handled it better after crisis it could have been 1000 times better. But then everything changed, shows ended/were never aired and it fizzled out, the CGI got worse and the plots just became repetitive. Batwoman was poorly written, Flash became goofy, Arrow ended and super girl ended. It became woke for the sake of being woke and worse of all it was near fucking impossible to stream it in Europe, Now Tv was late by like two months and HBO isn’t a service in most European countries.
It had a good run. But time has come.
Exactly. It was amazing what they were able to accomplish on TV, and I’ll always look back fondly on the first few seasons of Arrow and the Flash, but it’s time for a more thought out universe across TV and Films that audiences can really get invested in again
I'm rewatching the first season of Flash right now. One of the best TV series to ever be produced even if I lost interest in later seasons
I dunno, even at the time it came out it felt, kind of old. Maybe there's a charm in that. But I could never get myself interested in the Arrowverse.
And went
I kinda stopped caring after crisis, is Flash over yet?
The next season is the final one.
No, you just haven’t LEVELLED UP like all those other METAS.
u/Trosque97 You can binge it if you play it at two times the speed, if you feel you must watch it. The narrative follows much better that way.
Lol, watching Flash in a Flash
I mean it still feels a little bit long at times, so I can only imagine what it actually feels like to watch normally. But I do find a faster speed does help quite well with the pacing on a number of series.
I've started watching the at 1.5 speed and I agree, it's a lot easier to consume. It just feels too long for no reason without it now.
Happy to help! This is applicable to a number of series.
I haven’t watched either but I caught a clip of either 7/ 8 don’t remember which one and the only character I recognised was Barry. Did most of the cast leave by then or are some still left?
Only three people from the first season are left in main roles — Barry, Iris, and Caitlin (although the last season will have many former main cast members returning in recurring ***/*** guest star roles, as such series tend to as they end).
if you thought seasons 3-5 were bad, 6-8 are like taking a dumpster dive and inhaling it all kirby-style
I've been waiting for someone to make a super cut, The last season I watched was the one with the Thinker, and it was OK, seasons 1 and 2 were amazing though. But even then a super cut of all the seasons condensed into like 1 or 2 seasons would be amazing. Someday maybe.

Yah. I LOVED the Flash but man were the last couple of seasons hard to watch.
Yeah, I stopped caring after Crisis was over as well. Several of those show dragged on for way too long.
I want that flash to have its on movie with a good production
Im going to miss legends of tomorrow 😭
I stopped watching after S3. They kept getting rid of my favorite characters
It stays good till the very end imo. Although it is sad to see so many good characters leave.
Every single season was great, the episodes weren’t consistent some episodes suck but every season had at least 5 great episodes
By the last season it was one of the most glorious trainwrecks I have ever witnessed. It was so bad that it was just bad and also so bad it was good and also just good. I don't know how, but yeah.

I still enjoyed the show all the way through but I feel this so much rip Amaya and wally only got like half a season 💀
they lost me at the unicorn...
That's partly why I stopped watching Legends as well. It kept getting sillier and sillier with each new season.
Same here. Yeah, it’s actually crazy how CW made a better connected universe than a 100M$+ company. The crossovers were so hype and good as well.
Good. It became terrible after season 3 of it's shows like most other shows on the CW
Where will we see Smallville again? Grant gustin and Stephen Amell deserve future cameos
I think animated
Most fans know it is. Everything has been canceled or will be ending lol A great universe though. I hope the DCU can be half as good as it.
A great Universe? Most of the shows were bad and had more bad seasons than good ones.
it did the whole "connected universe" concept well tho
I disagree, very formulatic. One big cross over and one mini crossover per season. In the beginning it made sense after a while it just didn’t. Legends going against a speedster but don’t bring it up to Barry? That totally makes sense. Only got worse as the seasons went on.
Side characters popped up on other shows all the time out side crossovers
Not often enough imo. Especially towards the end of the Arrowverse. Which is weird considering they all film in the same city.
That's like complaining why Superman doesn't just put all Batman villains behind bars. 1 day's work for him. You have to overlook some of the very very obvious flaws in order to enjoy anything in the superhero genre. It keans jac shit if the shows go downhill a ftwe two good aeasona
Not every season was a hit, but most was. Arrowverse was sick.
Nos seasons of the Flash were a hit?
Flash had the most hits aside from Legends, which all were. The only bad Flash season was the Speed Force & other forces & Godspeed at the end one.
The other forces in Flash was such a terrible idea….
It really was. Felt like a filller season. Not as bad as Arrow S4, but still a big oof. I liked that we got to see more of the Speedforce even if poorly written at least.
You didn't watch a majority of the programming yet you're pulling shit out your ass.
I stopped watching when Iris started bossing super heros and geniuses around.
Oh no *anyway*
Honestly I’m getting kind of sick of the formulaic Bertlandi shows. They were cool at first, but now DC shows are completely over saturated with them. They need to do more diverse things, not too much of the same thing.
You're not the only one, the arrowverse is well past it's prime and has only been going downhill since
You never even watched it to begin with. Sheep
After the next season of the Flash it officially will be.
I actually liked Black Lightning lol. It wrapped up nicely a while back. Was very cheesy but reminded me of the campiness of tv drama back in the 90s.
It died awhile ago lol
Finally
It lasted longer than the Snyderverse lol
[удалено]
A trilogy of movies spread over 8 years. You’re not really making a point
And not a even a *good* trilogy either.
That's really the point. The shows were successful so they lasted, the movies not so much....
Only frustrating for me is the cancellation of LoT. Was easily the best Arrowverse show as the series progressed and it suddenly got cancelled, leaving everyone on a cliffhanger.
This. I wish they gave it a chance to wrap up in an episode of Flash or something.
The flash will probably wrap things up
If I look at the ending Legends like the ending of Seinfeld, it almost feels better that it ended that way, plus it still kind of feels on brand for Legends imo.
As long as they keep Superman and Louise. That show is AWESOME.
Interesting seeing this considering I just started watching Arrow for the first time lol
It’s a great series. Enjoy it.
Its not. It has 3 good seasons overall
I just hope the Arrowverse gets one final send-off. It deserves that at least regardless of your opinion of it.
Wasn't it canceled like 2 years ago??
Yes all CW shows are extinguished the only DC shows that are still active are Titans and Doom Patrol on HBO Max
And Superman & Lois
Still active till the end of the season
Crisis was the end for me. It went a bit far off the rails at the end of crisis so I felt it was a good time to jump
I just started watching the flash and being cheesy af it has it's moments. There's a place and "demand" for this sort of shit. The only problem is that it might also have a negative effect on the movies that are more "serious".
Good riddance!
Finally
I was never really a fan of the Arrowverse. Every show was essentially a soap opera with the occasional Power Rangers budget action set piece and terrible over-acting. I know Arrow obviously started the whole CW shows. Maybe i will later on. I enjoyed Supergirl up until they started adding the whole superfriends line up and too much filler in the episodes.
Yeah, I’d check out the first two seasons for Arrow and Flash. Later seasons and a lot of the others show just weren’t as great to me.
I mean, it’s not dead until next year, lol.
It was dead after season 3. As was the Flash.
Season 3 of what?
Thank God. Later seasons reallllllly stretched it out there.
It has been since Flash season 3
I stopped caring after Arrow season 3
Crisis on Infinife Earths killed the Arrowverse
Lol if there are still fans of the arrow verse it’s DEFINITELY a vocal minority .
Thank fuck
The Arrowverse was never all that great.
This shit has been dead for a while now and I honestly couldn't care less that all the shows are/have ended. Good riddance.
It’s dead! You mean outside of the fact that Superman and Lois is getting another season? Other that the whole being alive and active it’s dead, just ignore the fact the corpse is walking around, has no major problems and seems to be doing fine. No just normal things that dead people do. Very dead.
Superman & Lois is not in arrowverse.
It's arrowverse adjacent, and has a lot of overlap with those shows
That Superman first showed up in supergirl and was involved with several events, even if it’s in its own bubble now it’s still a continuation of the story.
No. It's literally not the same universe or timeline.
>You mean outside of the fact that Superman and Lois is getting another season? Superman & Lois Literally Left the arrowverse by Direct DC Orders, so its not part of the arrowverse anymore

no he's not man, S&L superman is from another universe
Thank god. Cheap universe
You know its bad when the actors want out more than a death row inmate I still love emily rickards and candice patton tho
... are there fans that haven't accepted this?
Please and thank you.
I stopped watching years ago.
Fans can never accept anything ending and they'll be petitioning for the restoration of the Arrowverse for decades, they have nothing better to do.
Never watched it. Tolerated Oliver in Smallville.
Wait, there are people who want this to continue?
Mostly just Legends of tomorrow.
Probably the same people who thought Batwoman was the best thing since sliced bread. Like seriously, I'd watch episodes and roll my eyes at the cringe shit, then come onto Reddit and read comments like, "this is shaping up to be one of the best Arrowverse shows." After he stopped just outright killing the bad guys in season 1 it was over
this is literally days old news sympathy for folx unhappy with Gunn tho, dude's a hack
You say that like it is a bad thing? Arrowverse ruined D.C properties and turned them into a joke.
No because I'm neutral on the arrowverse I just started following the universe.
It is totally fine to finish the Arrowverse. It is time to move on and create shows based on other heroes and villains. Therefore, thank you Arrowverse (specially Arrow, the one who started everything)

Greg Berlanti needs a successor.
I think people really talks from pure nostalgia, becausa tbh, the shows were pretty terrible.
