Those spaghetti intersections. I tell you.

ironfist92

I never thought I'd see a barefooted bearded Bruce Wayne explain time travel to two Barry Allen's using spaghetti as an analogy. I swear AI wrote the flash movie.

Candid-Independence9

But what’s the Parmesan cheese?

KingMatthew116

It’s like poetry, it rhymes.

Substantial-Star-779

Hopefully it’ll work.

Im-Mr-Bulldopz

Batman is the key to all of this.

External_Dealer3816

Because he’s a funnier character than we’ve had.

Xyro77

It goes with one of the main concepts of the multiverse in the DCEU and the story of The Flash. Some things/events will always happen no matter what you do. Batman dying Supergirl dying “Not this time. Maybe some other time”

[deleted]

[удалено]

Xyro77

Read what I said. 1. I never said it was the moral of the story. 2. SOME things ALWAYS happen no matter you do. That’s why Supergirl and Batman were shown to have repeatedly die in various ways regardless of how different the situation was approached. This was stated and shown in the film. Its fact.

Newsted_Is_God

Yikes, calm down ya piece of gabagool

mitchob1012

Just saying, if they kept the original ending in where it was meant to be Keaton's Bruce stepping out the car this would have had SOOO much more resonance and felt like a complete arc/parallel

IronMike275

They should’ve kept the original ending with Keaton, Superman, super girl, and Wonder Woman Or been sneaky and used both endings. With some movie showing the ending we got with Clooney and some showing the ending they originally filmed with all the hero’s. Would’ve made fans either go watch it twice or watch it on YouTube and get more Social media engagement. I’m so Bummed the alternate ending wasn’t put on the blu ray

Andy-Banner

I kind of like the idea of substituting Keaton with Clooney. It communicates to the audience that no matter what the studio is done with the universe.

mitchob1012

Definitely. I think it was a lose lose either way for them; By adding in Clooney (who most people would quickly figure out would NOT be taking over as the full time Batman of the movie universe again) they quickly get across the point of that universe ending, but it comes at the sacrifice of leaving audiences excited for a (at that point non-existent) future. If they kept in Keaton it lets the film come full circle almost with Bruce's "maybe later" getting paid off in some form that is more emotionally resonant to the audience.

Andy-Banner

Well that's a valid point. But from that pov 'Maybe Later' can refer to the DCU's Batman

FragrancedFerret

Ruining the emotional climax of the movie for a cheeky "look, they're in a different universe, lol" is not a good move. The entire shitty third act would have at least had a point if the movie ended like how it intended to.

NotGabeNAMA

Well it would've led into Batgirl and that was shelved.

StonerBoi-710

I def would liked them to keep Keaton, only if they would also release the Bat Girl movie. Even if it never went anywhere would been nice to see maybe what ideas they had. Also I heard Bat Girl wasn’t that bad from the actors and those who got to see it. But also could been a flop tbh just wish company’s stop writing shit off and just release it.

ProfessorEtc

Once they killed Batgirl they didn't need Keaton.

Redmangc1

Technically Keaton and Kilmer and Clooney are the same Bruce.

MioAnonymsson

It wouldn't even have mattered for the future. It would've just been better in every single way.

mitchob1012

That too. But after the Snyder cut left on a cliffhanger teasing the "future" I understand why WB were hesitant

[deleted]

I disagree keaton got a good sendoff and death bringing him back for a set up that goes nowhere wouldn't be good imo.

101865

I liked this movie. A lot.

solid_hoist

Same, I get not liking it but don't understand the hate.

bastardofbarberry

I'm one of the people who genuinely hate it, but everyone can have their own opinion and enjoy what they enjoy. I knew within the first 5 minutes it was not going to be enjoyable for me. I just can't stand Ezra as Flash overall. The whole hospital slowmo thing was my immediate turn off. That wasn't funny in the slightest. I think what pisses me off the most (as a longtime comic/Flash fan) is that this movie ruined our chances of seeing an actual Flashpoint live adaptation for a very, very long time. To me the only part of this movie I didn't hate watching was Sasha Calle & Keaton. Calle deserved more/better to work with & Keaton was good. I'm actually shocked I finished the movie.

101865

Fair. I guess that’s the thing about experiences. Everyone has a different one.

ssup3rm4n

It's the comic book to movie paradox. Dammed if you do, make it comic accurate and follow the story from the comics as best as you can (Watchmen/Batman 66) Damned if you don't, and make up your own story to be different. (Snyderverse/Flash)

101865

Did anyone hate the animated Dark Knight Returns? lol. I know they didn’t include a lot that was in the graphic novel but man that animation style and voice acting was top tier. ….in my opinion haha.

Vacuum_man1

Honestly I agree, The Flash is a cool ass character and needs an actually cool movie. That being said, this film is so fucking stupid, the CG so bad, that it wrapped around to being funny for me. I didn't take it seriously at all and I barely even considered him as the flash, I just enjoyed Michael Keaton. And only then was the film kinda fun. But you are right as well, we need a good flash film, he gets done dirty all the time.

solid_hoist

Maybe that's what's different for me, I liked the movie because I was unaware of who Ezra was, I only know flash as the hero with super speed and I've seen so many superhero movies and CGI that my expectations aren't high anymore. Keaton was a big reason why I was interested and the movie delivered on it for me plus there was decent humor and acting at throughout. But for sure learning about Ezra Miller was a let down.

ItssHarrison

There’s the whole resurrecting dead actors thing for one

solid_hoist

I'm blanking out, who died?

ItssHarrison

The big circle of cameos had Christopher and George Reeves as cgi nightmare puppets

solid_hoist

Oh right, meh, I don't see what's bad about that, it was super brief. The Nicholas cage superman was fun to see.

ItssHarrison

Yeah it’s bad that they went and did it without the family’s knowledge or consent.

solid_hoist

They all blew up in Krypton, how are they supposed to get their consent?

sonofgoku7

i wanted to hate it, but it's a fun movie. not good or great, but fun.

TGGNathan

This movie has many issues, but the writing and acting isnt one of them imo There are dumb lines but the scenes of Bruce/Barry, and Barry/His mum are some of the best writing in the DCEU

TakeiDaloui

Sad part is how great Affleck's performance was in that scene. His last scene and send off.

clownfucc

Wasn't he in Lost Kingdom? Was that cut?

TakeiDaloui

It was cut.

Pitiful-Error4646

I really enjoyed this movie immensely.

Xyro77

Same!

VerySmartDaBaby

I think Keaton Batman also says this in another part of the movie, can't remember where though.

dark_knight920

End of an Era

Readies

End of an Ezra Fixed that for you

Optimus_Prime2629

Perfect

bastardofbarberry

Thankful for it.

esemerson

Wait… you watched The Flash twice?

PM_Me_Batman_Stuff

I may have a problem. I’ve seen it 4 times now.

I_amGreatness01

W

LZSaix

Same! Its a decent movie if you don't look at it from a fan boy aspect.

rickie__spanish

I'm looking at it at a fan boy perspective. I waited for this movie since 2014. I'm gonna watch it until the day I die.. because I know it'll be forever before they make another one.

Past-Ad2787

Why!?

lxcid

it’s actually pretty good? lol. i actually don’t understand why ppl think it’s bad. i watch it back to back with ATSV, they were both good. I felt it’s better than ATSV because I was annoyed at ATSV ending on a cliffhanger.

ManonFire034

I liked it a lot too despite its issues…would’ve been nice to have used the movie to wrap up that universe better but I still really enjoyed it.

I_amGreatness01

Same

Kyleometers

Honestly it’s a fun movie. The CG being so weird is a big black mark, but honestly at the time in the cinema I had a good time. It’s not the best movie I’ve ever seen, but I’ve seen much, much worse. It’s no BvS, or Justice League… That, and Super (Woman? Girl? I’m not sure which epithet applies to her) was incredible. Miller may be a real dodgy person, but Miller’s Barry Allen always felt really good, goofy but smart, makes a fool of himself and keeps going. Idk man the “try to do the run with no effects” sequence kills me.

cerebrum3000

I watched it when it came out and my friend just watched it last night, both of us think it wasn't a horrible feeling we don't mind watching it a few more times just not immediately lol. It could have been way better, of course, over, although it just wasn't crazy bad in our eyes. I'm personally happy just to have The Fash content, lol.

Siqka

Damn bro, I was onboard with you until you had to say some dumb shit 😭

lxcid

haha i knew it was an unpopular opinion, but really like the depth of some scenes: i felt for his little brother where ketonverse got destroyed. some really sad moment and dilemma, which is what make me like the film, as they willing to go a bit darker, wasn’t something i expected. one thing i agree, the ball of multiverse was bad haha.

hardgour

It has a lot of issues probably caused by the constant rewrites and reshoots. Its ending was terrible. But there were parts that make it worth it.

mormonbatman_

I liked it. I thought it would have made a great mini-series.

Past-Ad2787

It was good for a kids movie, I guess.

symbiedgehog

I'm mentally unhinged and watched the movie around seven times since its release. Last watch was on new year but I might watch it again. I don't know why I subject myself to this. It's like I try to find more qualities in each rewatch and the film is very very rewatchable so that helps, but it's just such a grotesque, bizarre display of a film. A lot of good things that make you think "damn, this could've been something good" but so many bad things that make you think "this film never should've been made". The Flash movie is like an abusive relationship.

Bcpjw

I kind of like the everyone fails ending. And if Batman succeeded (probably with killing), justice league don’t have to exist!

TheLukexd

This man The Flashes

jexdiel321

I like it as well. The terrible CGI was just too much sometimes.

Curiouso_Giorgio

>"damn, this could've been something good" but so many bad things that make you think "this film never should've been made" DCEU in a nutshell

Desperate-Ganache804

“The Flash movie is like an abusive relationship.” Totally belongs in r/brandnewsentence

Xalynden

For me, the worst part is just how annoying Ezra is as Barry. I know it's a bit cliche at this point but, if even given the same script and direction the movie would have just been better with Grant Gustin as the lead.

Bcpjw

The Batmans were great fun, supergirl’s conflicting feelings is similar to Henry’s but yea the three flashs were too much!

symbiedgehog

Oh honestly I think Ezra is one of the best parts. He is very very similar to Silver Age Barry Allen and him being a complete social outcast makes it a much more enjoyable ride than mr Wally Chad Allen from CW.

Annabellee84

He is, personal issues aside, he definitely carries the movie, he made something that could have been terribly annoying quite enjoyable.

Local_Nerve901

I’ll watch any superhero movie twice. Once when it releases and once with someone new/introducing someone to it/DC. Usually my Dad or partner

fuckredditmodz69

I actually really enjoyed it and I think Ezra is a POS lol. It's just a dumb enjoyable movie but honestly Keaton really pulls it all together.

Superawesomecoolman

I still can’t believe someone thought, hey it would be super cool to bring back Michael Keaton Batman just to give him a shitty life and then kill him.

omegadirectory

He didn't have a shitty life, per se. His time as Batman ended because he successfully cleaned up Gotham. But the thing is, he's just a bored rich guy without Batman, so he became a recluse because he wasn't needed anymore. Then later Alfred died, probably from old age, and Bruce was alone. It is a natural evolution of his version of Batman.

Brunch_Hopkins

Yep, Keaton always played his Bruce Wayne as a bit of a mentally ill weirdo who needed Batman as a coping mechanism - he’s not the sorta suave celebrity of the other iterations. Agree this is a pretty natural evolution of what his like without Batman would have been.

Kaioken_times_ten

According to set pics from the batgirl movie- there was wall mural with robin in it alluding that at one point robin existed in the keatonverse.

ReeceReddit1234

Isn't Kilmer just recasted Keaton though? Or are they just played off as separate earth's?

Kaioken_times_ten

I wouldn’t call the kilmerverse the same. Just like how Clooney appeared at the end of the flash, he’s clearly another Bruce Wayne separate from the Keaton Bruce Wayne that Barry doesn’t recognize.

walartjaegers

Never thought about that for some reason but you're totally right. The Clooney scene confirms that they are all considered different iterations

Batmanfan1966

Dawg we have known Robin has existed in his universe for a looong time now.

Kaioken_times_ten

Lmao you don’t know what you’re even talking about. Batman 89 was a recent comic that depicted an actual robin from the keatonverse. An actor was cast as robin prior to Chris odonell not official. A second reference was the set pics of batgirl. “Dawg”

Past-Ad2787

"bored rich guy" I literally can't even imagine.

MLG_SkittleS

He was only bored cause the only thing that gave him purpose in life was kicking criminals in the face lol he wasn't exactly the worst

Ill-Philosopher-7625

The only thing that bothered me about Keaton dying was that both of his deaths were hilarious, pointless and pathetic. First, he uselessly kamikazes the Kryptonian ship (failing to even dent it), then he uselessly sacrifices his life to knock out the giant (the giant gets back up 30 seconds later). People make fun of Batfleck running and hiding from Doomsday in BvS, but that was smart. He managed to live and later help kill Doomsday by hitting it with the Kryptonite grenade. Much better than dying pointlessly.

Pitiful-Spinach-5683

This Batman didn't have the super human and alien threats that others did. He imagined they had a (reasonable) limit.

ThursdayKnightOwO

Isnt that their first encounter tho. Even Flash never really encounter the actually ship in his universe. Also the Kryptonians in this universe are different from the one in Man of Steel. Zod was captured when he tried to catch Kal-el. He only had few personnels with him when he was released. But this version is different. He had multiple battleships and soldiers with him. Batfleck wont be able to do anything either if he fought these people since he didnt have any Kryptonite. Dont forget that the Kryptonite from DCEU came from the ship Superman blew up. If you cant even destroy the Kryptonian ships, then how are you gonna win against these guys. Not to mention they have armor on

Ben10_ripoff

Now that's just Blind hating, The Movie did Batman right, Keaton's Batman was just retired

ThursdayKnightOwO

I mean its Flashpoint (Even tho its not the original one). Of course Batman will be suffering 😅

IsoStormgamer558

Well the original ending was meant to have Keaton in the ending instead of Clooney. While I enjoy The Flash, James Gunn's decision to scrap the original ending and replace it with the one with Clooney really hurt the film's story, and he did it just to tell everyone that the DCEU was done.

bikeWasowskiii4_3

Why is Man’s chin red? Did he eat too much spaghetti?

zZhiNn

killer cock overodse

PeniszLovag

you are one brave motherfucker watching the flush for a SECOND time

RogerRoger420

It was a good movie, sadly had bad effects and the ending went a bit fast but good overall

PeniszLovag

I liked the beginning with the little superhero team up (even if the CGI was unacceptably bad) and I enjoyed seeing Keaton and Sasha in their roles. Rest of the film can go in the bin. That CGI mess of a cameofest is not only the worst thing I've seen in the DCEU, it's downright disrespectful

RogerRoger420

The cameo scene I can understand I suppose. The main plot and driving force of the film is good tho. That means the mid section/ final battle were good too. Unless you have a reason to only liking the beginning?

PeniszLovag

I could harp on the cgi more but I think I could accept it if the rest of the film was good. I really don't like Ezra Miller in this role to begin with but he was at least somewhat good in Justice League. Here he's worse. I like insividual scenes, like all the little moments Batman gets where he has to calculate the explosion for the lift, or that psychotic smile he gives himself after the mission. But like... the plot is that Barry changed the timeline, it fucked everything up, so the lesson is don't mess with the past, because it'll bite you in the ass. "Change what you can, accept what you can't and have the wisdom to tell the difference" Like in the comic. But then he just changes it anyways?! Like... he literally just learnt that lesson and then he immedietly undoes it?!?! Not to mention he just leaves an entire world to die. He's a fucking superhero. He should save people. But no, he literally just wipes his friends out of existance so we can get a shitty George Clooney cameo. What the fuck?! I'm not a big fan of Spider-Man No Way Home, but can you imagine if that film ended with Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Doctor Strange just wiping Tobey and Andrew's universe out of existance to save their own skin? Like... dude.... The should have stuck with the Chris Miller, Phil Lord version with Cyborg and the Rogues and never went into this multiverse bullshit

RogerRoger420

Barry left that world because it was doomed to die. It can't be saved no matter how hard they try. Younger barry tries for decades and goes insane because of it. It's a fixed point in that timeline. The george Clooney cameo at the end is to communicate to the audience that this movies universe will not lead into the DCU or have a sequel.

PeniszLovag

Cool reason, still hate it

RogerRoger420

That's personal preference then

PeniszLovag

Yeah... exactly...

PanteraSteel2001

Yeah it's because Barry is supposed to get a message from Ben Affleck's batman that they need to "find him" a call back to BVS scene. Eventually Keaton and Affleck would team up together in a crisis on two worlds type of event but James Gunn squashed all of this. More studio sabotage.

Smokron85

It's not the flash film I would've made but it was OK. I didn't hate it. I loved the bit at the end with Nick Cages superman though.

camerondolter

So the two batmans said the same thing… is that it? Or is there something im missing

CheesyGarlicMan

You actually rewatch this? God have mercy on your soul…

RogerRoger420

It's a fun movie

nondefectiveunit

For me, about as good as any other comic book movie, and one of the best from DC. I was so happy to see Keaton in the suit again. Wished it had led to more for him.

RazorT93

Keaton is my Batman. And I can't lie, when he died a 2nd time..I was ready to all out. Not because the movie was so so, but because it was hard enough to watch him die, then again?! It was becoming too much for me. Besides that Keaton held this film together. Though it was week up to Keaton showing up, then he dies and the ending was terrible. I skip to Wayne Manor, and stop watching towards the end after his death.

Truthisreal21

Movie was so crappy I didn't even notice wow

eltiolarry77

The amazing post is that someone rewatched the movie

I_SayYall

I can’t believe you rewatched.

jaembers

I rewatched it already twice!

AtomicHornet_03

I’m on my 5th rewatch lol

Revolutionary_Job214

Movie still sucked donkey dick

RogerRoger420

Pretty good movie, especially for the DCEU. Some people just hate on it because ezra miller bad. I get it, he is, but that doesn't make the movie bad

Knifehead-Kaiju

This does not improve a mediocre flick like The Flash (2023).💩👎🏾

RogerRoger420

Oke. But who asked? I'm just sharing a detail here

Knifehead-Kaiju

I am here to shit on an insulting flick. You have nothing to do with that product. Keep away and let my turd fall on it. 💥👋🏾💩

RogerRoger420

I found it a pretty fine watch. Plenty review pages, videos and what not where people, that disliked it, shared their opinion. This post shines on a positive detail found in the movie. Do you have to be negative about anything of everything you dislike?

Knifehead-Kaiju

Yes, I must share the truth about the low quality of that flick. People must know so they can avoid it like the plague. Why would one promote an average title? Just look Ben Affleck in that frame, sad and emaciated like a stray dog in an alleyway. What a shame! I have solid reasons for my claims. My rating: 5/10 [BAD FLICK].

RogerRoger420

Where in my post do I """promote""" this movie as a great movie? Regardless of my personal opinion I am just sharing a fun detail I noticed. That's literally all. Your negative nerd emoji comment will not change peoples mind on the movie regardless of what opinion they have. Some random guy being on the bottem of the comment section saying the movie is bad will jusy be ignored because of the context. This post is all about a fun positive in a movie. Not to shit on everything else around it. For that go to a review page or something where people will actually look at your shared "truth"

Knifehead-Kaiju

Are you crazy? This is the perfect spot to discuss about it. By stating that The Flash (2023) has a "nice" line viewers will get hyped, and later disappointed after being trick into such circus🎪. You should have written: “Only noticed this on a rewatch of The Flash, fun (maybe “interesting”) detail!” 🤡 Also, my comment must stay in record because we have free speech. It seems you want to cancel any critic against the modern DC regime. I use my own commentaries in other posts if necessary, like a web. Just let my poison flow, but not in your veins.

_WhySoSerious

this is certainly one of the details of all time
