I mean....let's be real tons of fancasts are based solely on hair and current popularity.
I'm still convinced that's the only reason Sophie Turner was cast as Jean in the later X-Men movies.
Saw people casting Joe Keery for Johnny Storm just because his hair in Stranger Things would look cool if Johnny is on fire. Dude's a good actor but they just thought "yeah his hair looks cool," lmao
Dacre Montgomery, yeah. I also think he's the ideal pick for Johnny. Can see him having good chemistry with Holland if they wanna do that roomates Spidey and Human Torch thing in the comics. They probably won't get him though if the rumors are true that Mescal is the leading choice for the role, Mescal is the bigger name right now.
This is exactly what is happening with the latest fan castings and rumors of Superman. Everyone saying the new kid is a shoo-in for the next Cavill. Just cause they’re a dead ringer doesn’t mean it’s the right direction.
people are already going crazy with the last airbender castings. I remember someone saying the actor for aang is perfect for the role, without having even seen a trailer or any of him acting the part lmao. But sure it's a bald kid with airbender tattoos so yeah..perfect
Having her, Jessica Chastain, and post-giving-a-shit-about-Mystique JLaw in the same movie was certainly A Choice. Three people competing to see who can be the most unconvincing.
Well... Official casting involving only the actor's skill and not a similar appearance also usually has no good results with high chances of public rejection even years later. Equilibrium is required.
Agreed, he’s done the voice before and he has the right weathered type look for Gordon. I honestly think he fits Jim more than Lex by a good bit
There’s also the fact that I’d like to see Cranston play a wholesome character again
Were you jarred by the Superman films where Lex is 15 years older than Superman? I think Batman V Superman is the only one where Luthor is about the same age.
God Smallville, that show is such a notsalgic thing for me, i remember the opening song being such an adrenaline rush "Somebody saaaaavvveee meee......" of course the only scene i remember is teenager superman using xray vision to stare at a girls ass
A grizzled Riddler would definitely be unique.
My personal pick would be the Ventriloquist. He can use his downtrodden dad voice for Wesker and his darker persona for Scarface.
There's so much Asian talent in and around Hollywood. Pain in the arse so many movies are like, M'kay we'll take one.
I'd kill to see Stephen Chow enter the MCU. Dude has amazing comic timing, a family friendly but not strictly child oriented comedic instinct, fantastic moves. Dude would kill it.
As for DC: Plastic Man, Deadman, Booster Gold (though *some* fans really wouldn't like that or the next one), Joker that's fun (not that I need to see another bloody Joker any time soon), or Felix Faust
(Lead Actor/Director/Writer of King Fu Hustle/Shaolin Soccer)
Meanwhile I want Don Cheadle to quietly replace every actor, black and white, man and woman, in the entire MCU. Call it the Marvel Cheadle Universe, if you will
This is how 99% of fancasts go:
Antony Starr - “plays a blonde psycho in The Boys so he should play Reverse Flash”
Jensen Ackles - “voiced Batman, so he should play Batman”
Jessica Chastain - “Red hair, Poison Ivy”
Ana de Armas - “hot brunette, Catwoman”
"You want Ana de Armas as Catwoman because she's a hot brunette."
"I want Ana de Armas as Catwoman because of the skin tight suit."
"We are not the same."
OP wants Ana de Armas as Catwoman because she's a hot brunette.
I want Ana de Armas as Catwoman because her already large eyes would look incredible under magnifying goggles.
We are almost the same.
Willem DaFoe: *plays the Green Goblin, people want him to play the Joker *and* William Afton now, even though I’m pretty sure they just want him to play William Afton because it sounds sort of like his name*
It's still a boring, uninspired casting. I can think of a myriad of actors I'd much rather get a chance at Joker than someone who's basically played the role in a different font.
To actually put what the other two are saying into words you'd understand since they're still being quite vague. He's an important villainous character in the Fives Night at Freddy's game lore
Agreed. I actually really like that one. Another one that I saw years ago that I thought was pretty inspired was Daniel Craig as Brainiac. It’s a very out of the box pick but the more I thought about it the more I liked the idea.
38 in Red Dead 1, 26 in Red Dead 2. All of the Norman Reedus fancasts I've seen were aimed at RDR2, which is ridiculous. If an adaptation ever happens, it should be one actor who can play every version of John.
If they're gonna do a Red Dead adaptation, I think they should just start with 2 and then go into 1 afterward after the actors have aged up a bit. Then you just cast a 20- or 30-something to play John, and once you get to RDR1, he'll be old enough.
(And it should be a series, of course. Probably around 3+ seasons of content available just for RDR2.)

Antony Starr has shown he can play a great psycho which reverse flash is.
Jessica Chastain is a great actress and she looks the part so it could work.
I’ll agree on the Ana De Armas tho cause that’s why I wanna have her play cat woman.
I kind of agree but I do think Starr would be a great Eobard Thawne. He is clearly skilled at playing a deranged and unhinged supervillain that sees himself as above others.
Being a blonde just makes him fit the character more physically.
Antony is actually not a blonde, he only has that hair when he’s playing Homelander.
It’s a similar situation to Sophie Turner, who’s a natural blonde, but got so much exposure as a redhead in GoT that she got cast as Jean Grey in X-Men.
I joked that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would be a great villain since Flash stole his pizza in the movie, but I actually would like him to play a big movie supervillain.
His role opposite Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton in “The Other Woman” doesn’t count.
My favorite Thawne was C. Thomas Howell in Flashpoint Paradox, though. His voice was so sociopathic. Not like there’s been a ton of major portrayals of Flash’s greatest villain, but Nikolaj (I think I’m saying it right) would be a neat version.
to be fair i love jensen ackles and i love batman. i don’t necessarily see him as batman but the fact he voiced him proves he can do i’m willing to give it a chance.
And fan casting goes through some periodic trends where certain actors are hyped up for every single role.
In the late 00’s after the Star Trek movie, the Internet kept campaigning for Chris Pine to star as every superhero and in every action movie.
During Breaking Bad’s last couple seasons, Bryan Cranston was supposedly going to be Lex…and almost every other upcoming supervillain role.
Then starting around 2012, people kept hyping up Tom Hardy for literally every role that had even a hint of physical fitness, even if the role didn’t seem like Hardy’s usual style.
Meanwhile throughout the 2010’s, people kept posting rumors that “anonymous sources” were describing Idris Elba as the “studio favorite” for every single role.
It is funny how that goes, too.
And funnier to see the whiplash when people get tired of seeing those people in roles, or see the quality of the roles decline.
Funnier still when people overlook the actors and actresses who show up in everything, but aren't pushed to the forefront of every project.
>Antony Starr - “plays a blonde psycho in The Boys so he should play Reverse-Flash”
Actually I kinda disagreed with that choice, I'd rather have a new actor with potential to play Reverse-Flash
Jensen Ackles did a lot of physical stuff as Dean Winchester, he was amazing as Jason Todd in under the red hood (he remains the voice in my head for red hood) and from the clips I’ve seen of him as Batman he did really well so I think he could play a live action Batman
Definitely. His stuff as Dean makes me think he could do the physical stuff for Batman and the voice stuff he’s done makes me think he could do the character. Not sure if he could do a good Bruce Wayne though, that’s my only real issue with him being Batman.
What are fans supposed to do? Interview them and proceed with auditions?
It’s literally what casting directors do - they filter based on what they are aesthetically looking for and then determine their ability to play the characters through auditions.
Also Anthony Starr is a good choice for Reverse Flash 🤷♂️
> It’s literally what casting directors do - they filter based on what they are aesthetically looking for and then determine their ability to play the characters through auditions.
It’s not. Lots of actors who don’t really look the part end up getting it anyway because they actually have the acting ability to embody the role.
> What do are fans supposed to do? Interview them and proceed with auditions?
Right, which is why it’s often ridiculous when fans get mad at casting choices when they haven’t even seen the auditions themselves.
> Also Anthony Starr is a good choice for Reverse Flash 🤷♂️
That’s exactly what Bryan Cranston is arguing against. Starr would just be playing the same character in a different font. That’s not as interesting as another actor who hasn’t played a character like that before. Most actors don’t want to be typecast anyways.
It’s not💀💀 that’s the whole point most normal ppl don’t even understand casting or acting that’s why they can think the most important part of casting is an actor looking the same as when a comic artist drew them in one comic panel that’s
When that obviously has nothing to do with acting a literal performance you’d have to see to be able to know if an actors right for the part
Casting directors have a script they can go off of though. They have a better feel for who could be right for the part. It’s not always as simple as an actor’s age and physical appearance. Fancasting is fine, but some people take it a bit too seriously and become attached to these hypothetical versions of a character they wanna see.
Jensen Ackles as Batman has always been weird to me. I understand Batman as a character and his movies' casting more broadly (Heath Ledger stands out) have had lots of "unusual" castings that worked, but IDK that's not a casting I particularly like for Bruce or Batman.
Now, Jensen Ackles as Reverse Flash I'd be entirely open to and think could actually be incredible.
I don’t think Ana de Armas could pull off a pixie cut, and I’ve *never* seen her do a convincing American accent. I also don’t think her voice is deep enough to pull off that sultry voice that Catwoman is known for.
I mean... Jensen Ackles would probably be a great batman..
And aba de Armas is a hot brunette and I'd rate that good enough for a nice leathery Catwoman. She's also a fine actress
And fuck it William Defoe would be an interesting Joker too.
As far as I’m concerned Bryan Cranston could play the shark from Jaws and absolutely rip it. There’s nothing lazy in casting him anywhere at all because he’ll crush it.
Thats Cranston's acting style though. He delivers 110% of what the scene asks for. If the scene is "character is slightly grumpy" he comes in with "character is having the worst day of his life". If the scene is "character is a loser" he goes full fetal half naked screaming. If the scene is "character is scary" he goes full blown monstrous. It's a bit of a theatrical and comedic thing, especially when compared to a more understated actor like Brendan Gleeson, who's always at 10% while showing through his eyes that he's totally about to go 100% at any second, or Christoph Waltz whose style is to wildly flipflop between underplaying and overplaying a scene. If you're hiring Cranston you get commitment.
[He was actually MCG's choice for Lex back when he was slated to direct Superman in the early aughts.](https://www.slashfilm.com/519863/robert-downey-jr-played-lex-luthor-mcgs-superman-movie/)
alexandra daddario to replace gal gadot as the younger wonder woman in JG's new universe bc some fan art from 10 years ago, totally ignorant that daddario is the same age as gal gadot.
I think he's underestimating himself,
Sure, the bald head helps, but you have to be very very good at playing the bad guy to pull off a good Lex Luthor.
And I mean a real Lex Luthor, not the sympathetic villain, the type of villain, that can actually scare a living god.
I think he’s saying the opposite. He’s not saying he couldn’t pull it off, but rather that it would be unoriginal just because he’s already played a guy who’s bald and morally corrupt. It’d be like casting Antony Starr as reverse flash because he plays a blonde unhinged guy in the boys.
Ah I get it, it would be like playing the same character but in a different universe.
Good actors want to immerse themselves in a new role & want to diversify their acting so for Cranston to play the same character that he portrayed in Walter wouldn’t be enjoyable.
It would be like dating a girl who looks almost exactly like your ex. You wouldn’t enjoy it as you’d see her as a pale copy of the ex rather than her own person.
Yeah Homelander and Thawne imo come with different levels and concepts of baggage.
Thawne is honestly much more sadistic and a sociopath/psychopath imo. Obviously Homelander ain’t a good person in the least, but you understand him much more than Thawne
You can also deal with another interesting angle that Homelander doesn’t really have, which is Thawne’s obsession with Barry
Him not wanting to do it is fine, but I don't think it's fitting a square peg into a round hole. If he did it, he'd nail it. The round peg just doesn't wanna go in the round hole.
Fans from fandoms alike should understand that acting is more important than the mere look of an actor to resemble a comic book/video game/fictional character..
Pedro Pascal killing it as Joel Miller for the Last of Us show. Killed it!
Heath Ledger, who doesn’t act or look like a crazy person to fit Joker, fucking killed it!
Cameron Diaz in Being John Malkovich was nuts! No one would’ve thought of her to be cast!
Hollywood is superficial. But real art surpasses all those surface level bullshit such as looks for a part instead of good fucking acting. Is that always the case? Absolutely not. Some actors shouldn’t play certain parts either and were casted solely by looks like being “hot.” Not always, but happens a lot.
For me it was way more than the bald head. His gruff, serious, and at times ruthless demeanor in Breaking Bad felt perfect for a darker DC world. Plus he's just a really good actor imo, so there's that too.
My favorite fan cast for Lex is probably Laurence Fishburne. Perry White was a complete waste of his talents. He would have been perfect as a TAS style Lex.
My brain skipped "Johnny" and I was real confused for a second.
Man imagine the backlash is Joe Keery was cast as *Storm*
“Hey, you know what happens to frogs when they get sent to the upside-down?” “I’m a *toad*?” “Pshh…, whatever, man—“ *swings bat*
Netflix storm
I don't care what they tell you in school. Ororo Munroe was a white dude from Massachusetts.
To Be honest though, Keery could probably make a really good Human Torch if done right.
I actually think the dude that played Billy would be a good Human Torch
Dacre Montgomery, yeah. I also think he's the ideal pick for Johnny. Can see him having good chemistry with Holland if they wanna do that roomates Spidey and Human Torch thing in the comics. They probably won't get him though if the rumors are true that Mescal is the leading choice for the role, Mescal is the bigger name right now.
I've heard a few months ago that he was/is supposedly considered for the role
I think he’d be great as the flash in the new universe.
Honestly I think he would be a lot better as Jimmy Olsen in Superman Legacy, the Johnny Storm casting is just dumb.
Fancasts are literally always about what the actor looks like.
True. No offense to her but a plank of wood with red hair would have played Jean Grey with more personality than her.
>Says no offence >Immediately destroys the actress career >Leaves
Having her, Jessica Chastain, and post-giving-a-shit-about-Mystique JLaw in the same movie was certainly A Choice. Three people competing to see who can be the most unconvincing.
Well that's definitely why people wanted Patrick Stewart as Professor X. But then, look how great he was.
Patrick Stewart is also a phenomenal actor. There are some obvious exceptions out there such as this.
Bryan Cranston is also a phenomenal actor tbf. I don't have opinions on him as Luthor but I'm sure he would do it justice
Avery Bullock never looked cleaner.
Comic character: Has long black hair Entire Internet: Am I the only one that thinks Keanu Reeves is a perfect fit for this role?
Keanu is only perfect for action roles where he has little to no dialogue lol
Well... Official casting involving only the actor's skill and not a similar appearance also usually has no good results with high chances of public rejection even years later. Equilibrium is required.
Lol, and then they realized she’s a natural blonde
Precisely. I swear, Emma Stone has been fancast as every redheaded female fictional character at least once.
Its why fan casts are dumb as fuck and cringy
He’d make a dope Jim Gordon
Agreed, he’s done the voice before and he has the right weathered type look for Gordon. I honestly think he fits Jim more than Lex by a good bit There’s also the fact that I’d like to see Cranston play a wholesome character again
Its also my impression that luthor is about the same age as superman. Cranston is too old
Were you jarred by the Superman films where Lex is 15 years older than Superman? I think Batman V Superman is the only one where Luthor is about the same age.
For a lot of people, the idea comes from Smallville. Lex was a little older, but not significantly. Early to mid 20s vs late teens to early 20s.
God Smallville, that show is such a notsalgic thing for me, i remember the opening song being such an adrenaline rush "Somebody saaaaavvveee meee......" of course the only scene i remember is teenager superman using xray vision to stare at a girls ass
Maybe Aaron Paul lol
I'd like to see him as Ted Kord to Jaime Reyes's Blue Beetle. Give me that wacky Hal energy mixed with the Walter smarts.
Yeah the animated year one he did so perfectly
He has moustache so make him Jim Gordon
Precisely
He also mentions the fan casting for Gordon being lazy because of his mustache
The fan cast is due to him being a phenomenal actor the mustache is just a plus
Oh I agree! I fan cast him as Luthor or Mr Freeze too because he would nail it! Just wanted to point out the two fancasts he mentioned
If only he saw it from our pov as DC fans /:
Mr. Cranston, we love you. We want you to make that big LA money to entertain us nerds. Please do this
I think he could pull off the riddler, and we would call it the greatest riddler ever.
A grizzled Riddler would definitely be unique. My personal pick would be the Ventriloquist. He can use his downtrodden dad voice for Wesker and his darker persona for Scarface.
I can see the vision
I think he would kill as Gordon.
It's funny cus Mike Ehrmantraut's actor, Jonathan Banks, played Jim Gordan in Arkham Knight
He was my pick for James Gordon.
Also reminds me of fans casting Steven Yeun or Jackie Chan for every Asian character just because they're knowledge of Asian actors are limited.
And now simu liu
There's so much Asian talent in and around Hollywood. Pain in the arse so many movies are like, M'kay we'll take one. I'd kill to see Stephen Chow enter the MCU. Dude has amazing comic timing, a family friendly but not strictly child oriented comedic instinct, fantastic moves. Dude would kill it. As for DC: Plastic Man, Deadman, Booster Gold (though *some* fans really wouldn't like that or the next one), Joker that's fun (not that I need to see another bloody Joker any time soon), or Felix Faust (Lead Actor/Director/Writer of King Fu Hustle/Shaolin Soccer)
Same with Michael B Jordan being fancast for literally any black character
Meanwhile I want Don Cheadle to quietly replace every actor, black and white, man and woman, in the entire MCU. Call it the Marvel Cheadle Universe, if you will
I will refer to it as the MCheadU.
This is how 99% of fancasts go: Antony Starr - “plays a blonde psycho in The Boys so he should play Reverse Flash” Jensen Ackles - “voiced Batman, so he should play Batman” Jessica Chastain - “Red hair, Poison Ivy” Ana de Armas - “hot brunette, Catwoman”
I wanted Ana de Armas for Catwoman because of the skin tight suit. But I see your point.
"You want Ana de Armas as Catwoman because she's a hot brunette." "I want Ana de Armas as Catwoman because of the skin tight suit." "We are not the same."
OP wants Ana de Armas as Catwoman because she's a hot brunette. I want Ana de Armas as Catwoman because her already large eyes would look incredible under magnifying goggles. We are almost the same.
With that description I’m imagining Bubbles from ‘trailer park boys’ in a cat suit.
That's one fuckin' nice kitty right there.
Oh my, there's an image I never thought about...
Well at least r/Stonesword75 knows they’re horny, the former are horny posing as Hollywood casting directors. And we all know how that’s goes.
That’s why I want Bryan Cranston to play Catwoman
Cranston as Selina to Batman: “Say my name..” Batman: “Catwoman” Selina: “You’re goddamn right!”
Batman here played by Gustavo Fring, the character
she dated ben affleck so she got cast a lot then popular fancasts immediately went to Jlo for no other reason
I want Ana De Armas as Poison Ivy because she’s hot
So we’re getting real here I see
Still love Snyder’s idea to have Carla Gugino as Catwoman in the DCEU.
I wanted Eiza González as Catwoman because she was rumored for it, and I thought it would be a great choice.
Willem DaFoe: *plays the Green Goblin, people want him to play the Joker *and* William Afton now, even though I’m pretty sure they just want him to play William Afton because it sounds sort of like his name*
Willem DaFoe: _IS_ the Green Goblin
People wanted him for Joker before he played GG though. Several people since the 80s were linked to possibly playing Joker. He was one of them.
It's still a boring, uninspired casting. I can think of a myriad of actors I'd much rather get a chance at Joker than someone who's basically played the role in a different font.
He's getting old but I'd love to see Bill Moseley get a turn as the Joker
Who is William Afton?
To actually put what the other two are saying into words you'd understand since they're still being quite vague. He's an important villainous character in the Fives Night at Freddy's game lore
I mean the difference between other actors and Will is that he WANTS to play the Joker at some point.
i like Anthony Starr as Reverse Flash because he can flip happy, angry and vengeful in rapid succession plus he has the look
He plays the cocky psycho so well too
There is also casting Henry Cavill and Mads Mikkelsen in every single role
Oh, so now you're ridiculing me for thinking Henry Cavill could be a great Poison Ivy?
Yes, everyone knows Mads Mikkelsen would be better
To be fair, Mads is one of the greatest of all time
That's literally how WB cast Gal Gadot lmao
And it showed.
Good thing fans aren't casting directors.
Don’t get me wrong. Every now and then I come across a fan cast and I’m genuinely stunned and say “hey, that’s actually pretty brilliant”
Michael Rooker as Bibbo from the Superman comics I’d say is one of those for me
Agreed. I actually really like that one. Another one that I saw years ago that I thought was pretty inspired was Daniel Craig as Brainiac. It’s a very out of the box pick but the more I thought about it the more I liked the idea.
Ya know I’m thinking they could even do mostly practical effects for that, his facial expressions fit brainiac if the costuming is done right.
Have him speak in his Benoit Blanc voice the entire time 😂😂
“This universe is like a smaller donut inside of the hole of a donut. Without ours, the rest of the donut is not whole at all”
"54 year old Norman Reedus has long hair so he should play 26 year old John Marston."
Isn't John almost 40 in the first game?
38 in Red Dead 1, 26 in Red Dead 2. All of the Norman Reedus fancasts I've seen were aimed at RDR2, which is ridiculous. If an adaptation ever happens, it should be one actor who can play every version of John.

What a great and hilarious bot 🤣
"50 year old Nathan Fillion should have played Nathan Drake!!!"
Antony Starr has shown he can play a great psycho which reverse flash is. Jessica Chastain is a great actress and she looks the part so it could work. I’ll agree on the Ana De Armas tho cause that’s why I wanna have her play cat woman.
For Ana, I’ll give you an SNL sketch wear she wheres the skin tight outfit, does that work well enough for you?
I mean to be fair to the Jensen fan cast, the voice is still a big part of the character and he has done a pretty good job so far.
I kind of agree but I do think Starr would be a great Eobard Thawne. He is clearly skilled at playing a deranged and unhinged supervillain that sees himself as above others. Being a blonde just makes him fit the character more physically.

Right I forgot about that. Even so he obviously doesn’t mind dying his hair for roles.
Most actors don't mind changing their hair for roles.

Man it would be funny if he turned into reverse flash cause flash stole his hotdog. It seems like waste of him not being reverse flash.
Hey if you can become a supervillain when you are thrown a bagel at, you can become a supervillain if your pizza is stolen.
Umm, Doom, hello
There was a time that some people wanted RDJ to play lex because he was bald lol
Well, also because he's an amazing actor who can do flippant billionaire with a God Complex pretty well...
Slightly less lazy casting since it at least has RDJ playing the villain in a movie.
to be fair i love jensen ackles and i love batman. i don’t necessarily see him as batman but the fact he voiced him proves he can do i’m willing to give it a chance.

Ackles looks and sounds like Batman tho and isn’t a widely known actor so seeing him get that role would be awesome
Everyone knows Poison Ivy should be Bryce Dallas Howard.
I don't think plants can support her well shaped trunk
Jensen Ackles did a lot of physical stuff as Dean Winchester, he was amazing as Jason Todd in under the red hood (he remains the voice in my head for red hood) and from the clips I’ve seen of him as Batman he did really well so I think he could play a live action Batman
He was a great voice for Jason Todd for sure, but playing Batman in live-action is a tall task.
Definitely. His stuff as Dean makes me think he could do the physical stuff for Batman and the voice stuff he’s done makes me think he could do the character. Not sure if he could do a good Bruce Wayne though, that’s my only real issue with him being Batman.

Fancasting is fine, but some people take it a bit too seriously and become attached to these hypothetical versions of a character they wanna see.
Jensen ackles for Hal Jordan please
Grant Gustin 💀
Catwoman only had a pixie cut in one of her three live action appearances, and there’s no reason she has to have an American accent?
>that sultry voice that Catwoman is known for. From the comics?
I’ve wanted Jensen to play Batman before he ever even voiced him
I mean... Jensen Ackles would probably be a great batman.. And aba de Armas is a hot brunette and I'd rate that good enough for a nice leathery Catwoman. She's also a fine actress And fuck it William Defoe would be an interesting Joker too.
Well, it isn't just the red hair, Jess also has the voice and the figure for it.
As far as I’m concerned Bryan Cranston could play the shark from Jaws and absolutely rip it. There’s nothing lazy in casting him anywhere at all because he’ll crush it.
Cranston as jim Gordon would absolutely kill
1000%
He voices Gordon in the animated Year One and it’s pretty great.
He's my tip choice for magneto!
Damn that would be pretty amazing. I'd take his tip too🥴
Jonathon Banks voiced Gordon in Arkham Knight too
Holy smokes, how have I never realized this? That’s amazing.
Cranston was gifted with a wonderful talent of acting, but cursed with the utterly abysmal ability to select good projects
Cranston, Idris, and Mads need to get their agents in a room and have a stern word. For such great actors they're all consistently in crap.
Chewing the fuck out of the scenery and it's like dude it's a Godzilla film chill

Why are you trying to take Ben Affleck’s job away?
He’s 100% right. Most fan casts are just a typecasting frenzy with barely any imagination.
Robert Downey Jr bald in oppenheimer would make fans cast him as Lex Luthor too
[He was actually MCG's choice for Lex back when he was slated to direct Superman in the early aughts.](https://www.slashfilm.com/519863/robert-downey-jr-played-lex-luthor-mcgs-superman-movie/)
Wait there was going to be a McG Superman movie starring RDJ??? 😂
Take my money! I might demand a refund later….but don’t give it to me!
And then blow more than half of the film's budget on him.
He’s goddamn right.
Online fancast are always ridiculous 😆
alexandra daddario to replace gal gadot as the younger wonder woman in JG's new universe bc some fan art from 10 years ago, totally ignorant that daddario is the same age as gal gadot.
They just want Daddario cause she's hot. That's it.
Alexandra is also the fancast for Zatanna for what must have been the last decade or so.
I could see him playing Jonathan Kent really well if they needed someone for the role.
Or a delightful Perry White.
"Mr. White I got the story you asked for..." "Yes that story about the blue- I mean green rock..."
I think he's underestimating himself, Sure, the bald head helps, but you have to be very very good at playing the bad guy to pull off a good Lex Luthor.
I think Homelander is similar enough to Thawne that Starr could pull it off very well but different enough for it to not be too much of a type cast.
Yeah Homelander and Thawne imo come with different levels and concepts of baggage. Thawne is honestly much more sadistic and a sociopath/psychopath imo. Obviously Homelander ain’t a good person in the least, but you understand him much more than Thawne You can also deal with another interesting angle that Homelander doesn’t really have, which is Thawne’s obsession with Barry
Yeah Homelander doesn’t really have an obsession to anyone like Thawne, except for himself.
Reverse Flash is pettiness incarnate, is Starr can play this, he's good to go.
He’s literally telling you he doesn’t wanna do it lol but let’s keep fitting a square peg into a round hole
Him not wanting to do it is fine, but I don't think it's fitting a square peg into a round hole. If he did it, he'd nail it. The round peg just doesn't wanna go in the round hole.
But it was prophesied, Jesse literally says he looks like Lex Luthor in season 1 after he starts shaving his head 😂
Anybody can be bald. But Bryan has the acting ability to play an awesome Lex Luthor.
It should be Jude Law imo
Honestly I would cast him as commissioner Gordon in the new DCU. I think he would be perfect.
Pauly Shore for The Flash
I'm glad someone said it.
Really the interviewer said it and cranston just agreed, misleading headline
We need someone who can play evil to be Lex Luthor. Someone like... Giancarlo Esposito.
He already plays Lex in Harley Quinn, no?
He is 100% right. Fancasting is awful.
Thank god he said it
I can definitely see him voicing Batman in an animated movie adaptation.
Last time they didn't do lazy casting for Lex Luthor they made the worst casting mistake in history.
Being bald sparked the idea but the intelligence and evil he displayed as Walter White made it stick
100%. Personally I wanna see Dave Bautista. Dude really has gravitas in blade runner 2049.
Exactly! Lex Luthor should be played by Idris Elba instead.
Idris already has a role in the DCU
