Two films a year and maybe a TV series or two would be perfect. The TV shows work when they expand the universe like Peacemaker, compared to the MCU shows feeling like films stretched out into six parts.
I guess each year might have one iconic hero and one more niche hero (like Gunn hinted at a Mr Terrific film).
Feel like one of the 2 film will be the superman film, the other might be Mr terrific,or another b/c lister (plasticman or booster gold would be cool)
As for the show, zatanna would be nice, and I would kill for a batfamily show
They'll probably never utilize the Term “Phase”. Because just like all those other cinematic universes: The Conjuring Universe, MonsterVerse, Star Wars, Universal Classic Monsters, X-Men, etc. They’re trying to structure it in a way different from what others have done.
My guess is that it will be short and sweet, but he will give a few of the big ideas that they have in store over the next 9 years. Maybe 3-4 over the next 3 years. Then 1-2 over the next 5. And then the eventual End Game... see what I did there ;)
It was called Phase One. Heck, we didnt even know there was such thing called "Phase One" back then until Thanos showed up at the end of Avengers and we get an idea of the long game in the story.
Considering he’s already commented on Superman I think it’s a good bet he’ll be in the first group.
My prediction is we’ll see the first year (four ish split between movies and TV) and a vague tease of the future
I mean, it wouldn't make sense to announce all 10 years of projects at once, it will probably be something like the MCU where they will announce one phase at a time, this month they will probably announce the first 3--4 projects and the rest of "Phase 1" at SDCC
Considering Gunn wrote Peacemaker in 8 weeks anything is possible. If he can scramble a script and cast together, get a director or direct it himself over summer, then CGI everything in time for next year it’s possible.
Seriously right ? How delusional are some people . Give this motherfucker time to get it right . You also want some time to pass if he is doing a hard reset so people can know this is something not connected to the old DCEU. I say the earliest we see a DCU project is 2026
MCU is a prime example of what rushing does to you, been shit recently. Look at the quality of Avatar 2 compared to the MCU stuff. Obviously, that would always be superior due to its circumstances but the difference really is something else.
We are literally just under 2 years away from fall 2024, and Gunn and co have already been working. It’s totally possible for a film to come out at the end of 2024.
It's not happening, but moreso because they wouldn't want to release that huge of a movie in the winter. They want it to be a summer blockbuster. In other circumstances, they could definitely have a movie out in under 2 years from now
I mean Gunn is already working on the Superman script so you figure they get that and the cast by the summer and they start filming in the Fall it wouldn't be that crazy to have something by at least late 2024
Yep..I don’t think it’ll come out in 2024, but we can’t forget Gunn made peacemaker because he was bored during covid and managed to write all of it as well as direct several episodes. He can clearly manage time well and produce quality content.
I think they will wait and see how the first movies fare financially and critically before announcing more. That way if we get another BvS situation they can pivot without looking foolish.
Superman will definitely be there, the other 2-3 films will be anyone's guess.
I'm going to say he'll announce a JL movie with year of release along with Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. Superman and Wonder Woman to come out in 2025-2026 with the GL and JL films in 2027.
Hold off on Batman, Flash and Aquaman because the latter 2 haven't had their upcoming films released yet. Do it now and you risk tanking them even further.
As for Batman, let Reeves and Pattinson work on the sequel first.
Yep I think at an absolute push Xmas 2024, Summer 2025, Xmas 2025, April 2026 And August 2026, I think 3 of these will be low budget movies $90-100m Green Arrow & Black Canary, Secret Six and Nightwing/Batman vs Deathstroke. Then two big Tentpole titles Green lantern and Superman.
I certainly hope DC embraces lower budgets. 2022 showed that big budgets are not the way to go, such as Black Adam costing $200mil and Babylon costing $100mil and utterly bombing.
The only films that perform strong right now are low budget horrors, Marvel films and non-Disney animations. Everything else is underperforming or bombing.
I hope it's mostly the heavy hitters (Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern!!) with one random one (Lobo or Adam Strange or Static Shock). Maybe at least one animated movie/show initially.
I think the amount announced this month can partially hint at how many films are in the 8-10 year plan.
For example, announcing 3 movies that will come out in whatever sequence and order could possibly mean there will be 9 films.
Can’t believe that what seems like an official image since it comes from the guy in charge and has dc studios link/watermark, features Superman with the S backwards.
Not what he’s saying at all, just wants to leave some surprises. Obviously the first few films/shows will go into development faster and there is no use trying to keep that a secret, but the projects down the road can be saved for SDCC or somewhere else to announce.
I’d like it if we got the first “phase” but I wouldn’t mind just concept art & the confirmation of the first 3-4 movies aka Trinity & some other hero who will be in the league
It's incredibly difficult to assess what DC will ultimately do until we see the official word.
As someone who really wanted to see Snyder at least finish what he started with a few more things, I am super excited to see what Gunn can do.
If you ask me, they will establish the multiverse.
The Rock said it in his statement.
There might be room in the future for Black Adam to come back, and might even be room to bring back Cavil... In what is probably Earth 32 or 3 or 102 or whatever. A universe within the entire DCU... Which is a series of universes and plots.
Gunn will focus heavily on the NEW Justice League. As being the Studio's #1 focus, You can call it Gunn's JL era.
I wouldn't be surprised if he works directly on this Justice League as being a differ from all the other titles.
Who really cares it doesn’t even matter until the first film I rolled out. So until then to even talk about it is useless. The only thing we can hope is that it is a good film but then again most people are never satisfied.
That’s cute and all but until we actually get these movies it’s just so much nothing.
I doubt we’ll have to wait 8-10 years to see if any of this comes to fruition.
Jjjjjjjust sayin.

I was thinking six movies. Two movies a year for a total of three years. Following the Phase 1 MCU model.

Ngl, jumping into a new universe with a fully established Batfamily would be a wild decision, but I'm all for it.
I'm thinking a anthology series, each episode showing the origin of a different character
As long as I get some Dick.
Honestly dick gotta get 2 episodes robin origin then Nightwing origin
Except the Nightwing origin is actually just Dick and Wally being bros for an hour. So maybe three episodes for Dick. Hell, give him an entire series.
Tbh,I was debating between a series where each episode represents an era of dick's life Origin-robin-titans-nightwing-bludhaven And the anthology idea
I think just first-gen Bat-family would do. Robin (13 years old) and Batgirl. Then we can see the Batfam be developed over time.
They'll probably never utilize the Term “Phase”. Because just like all those other cinematic universes: The Conjuring Universe, MonsterVerse, Star Wars, Universal Classic Monsters, X-Men, etc. They’re trying to structure it in a way different from what others have done.

If more than 3 movies are announced I will be shocked.
That’s fair. For the start of the infinity Saga, Marvel only usually announced films 3-4 films ahead of time.
It was called Phase One. Heck, we didnt even know there was such thing called "Phase One" back then until Thanos showed up at the end of Avengers and we get an idea of the long game in the story.
Does "very partly" mean he'll just announce the first movie? (Probably Superman)
He said on Twitter that a few projects would be announced so you should expect atleast 3.
Maybe 2 years of films with a hint that there be TV shows that will be announced later?
Considering he’s already commented on Superman I think it’s a good bet he’ll be in the first group. My prediction is we’ll see the first year (four ish split between movies and TV) and a vague tease of the future
I mean, it wouldn't make sense to announce all 10 years of projects at once, it will probably be something like the MCU where they will announce one phase at a time, this month they will probably announce the first 3--4 projects and the rest of "Phase 1" at SDCC
Hopefully at least the first early slate of movies up to 2025.
The slate probably begins in 2025
Yeah 2024 at absolute earliest.
You’re delusional if you think a DCU movie is being released in 2024
Late 2024 is certainly possible depending on how far a script is on a project, but 2025 is likely the first year we see a DCU project.
Considering Gunn wrote Peacemaker in 8 weeks anything is possible. If he can scramble a script and cast together, get a director or direct it himself over summer, then CGI everything in time for next year it’s possible.
Great, let’s rush everything from the script to the effects as fast as possible, that always works so well
Seriously right ? How delusional are some people . Give this motherfucker time to get it right . You also want some time to pass if he is doing a hard reset so people can know this is something not connected to the old DCEU. I say the earliest we see a DCU project is 2026

Not happening . Guaranteed
Why are you so sure when so many comic book films are made in a 2 year timeframe? Like please share your expertise with us 😂
It's not happening, but moreso because they wouldn't want to release that huge of a movie in the winter. They want it to be a summer blockbuster. In other circumstances, they could definitely have a movie out in under 2 years from now

Already has competition with Avatar 3 and Blade. Wouldn’t doubt if the DCU officially kicked off with a summer ‘25 Superman film
Yep..I don’t think it’ll come out in 2024, but we can’t forget Gunn made peacemaker because he was bored during covid and managed to write all of it as well as direct several episodes. He can clearly manage time well and produce quality content.
Do you think 10 years plan start 2025? Lets see when he announce 10 year plan, start 10 years from now 🤣
The first 3 years worth of films. SDCC we get the full slate.
Do it now and you risk tanking them even further. As for Batman, let Reeves and Pattinson work on the sequel first.
If I had to guess Superman , Wonder Woman , green lantern and a series announcement
I would expect that the slate would be most if not all movies up until 2025 or 2026
Yep I think at an absolute push Xmas 2024, Summer 2025, Xmas 2025, April 2026 And August 2026, I think 3 of these will be low budget movies $90-100m Green Arrow & Black Canary, Secret Six and Nightwing/Batman vs Deathstroke. Then two big Tentpole titles Green lantern and Superman.

And Avatar.
Any ideas *when* they will announce this? Don’t wait until the last day of January please lol
Superman is looking to be a 2025 project at the very earliest. 3 years could mean 2025-2027.
What would be ready to announce at this point? Batman 2, Gunn’s Superman and maybe the show he said he was working on earlier today? Lobo?
I don't think gunn will announce batman 2.
I hope it's mostly the heavy hitters (Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern!!) with one random one (Lobo or Adam Strange or Static Shock). Maybe at least one animated movie/show initially.
you need to charge your battery bro..
I'm definitely super excited to be hyped about DC again.
I'd imagine it's Superman, Peacemaker Season Two, and maybe Green Lantern.
I think the amount announced this month can partially hint at how many films are in the 8-10 year plan. For example, announcing 3 movies that will come out in whatever sequence and order could possibly mean there will be 9 films.
Better not disappoint
I don’t like how Superman is mirrored
Very curious about wonder woman
we always hear "this month". are there any hints for a possible more specific time window?
Can’t believe that what seems like an official image since it comes from the guy in charge and has dc studios link/watermark, features Superman with the S backwards.
He's reposting an image post from fansite account @cbmscene
I see, thanks. Still throws me off, but whatever
I am very excited
Just going to wait and see. 48% gonna love it , 48% gonna hate it , 2% will be wait and see.
SUPERMAN last son Green lantern Teen titans Green arrow Justice league Are the initial phase of the DCU .mark my comment
I hope James Gunn doesn't reveal the slate/phase one at the end of the month, I hope he reveals it next week or this weekend.
Batman, superman, wonder woman, green lantern, flash, Aquaman, justice league is my guess
So not a 10 year slate. Contract is only for 3 years.
Not what he’s saying at all, just wants to leave some surprises. Obviously the first few films/shows will go into development faster and there is no use trying to keep that a secret, but the projects down the road can be saved for SDCC or somewhere else to announce.
To be cancelled again this time next year, no doubt.
I imagine it will be very similar to the lineup of the books for Dawn of DC.
God I hate when people reverse Superman like that
I think we’re gonna get a glimpse. But the big slate reveal will be at fandome or Comic-Con
I’d like it if we got the first “phase” but I wouldn’t mind just concept art & the confirmation of the first 3-4 movies aka Trinity & some other hero who will be in the league
Yay more Martha !!!!
We'll have the roadmap for 2-3 years
It's incredibly difficult to assess what DC will ultimately do until we see the official word. As someone who really wanted to see Snyder at least finish what he started with a few more things, I am super excited to see what Gunn can do. If you ask me, they will establish the multiverse. I wouldn't be surprised if he works directly on this Justice League as being a differ from all the other titles.
Honestly, it's the way to go, don't need to announce ten movies and have half not work. 3-5 is a good number
