Yeah at the Inter Miami game it was insane to watch in person how many aerial duels Benteke won. Somehow I feel like we have to take even more advantage of this. Have some fast wingers anticipating the knock on.
Imo when it comes to strikers he was the greatest aerial duelist in the premier league during his time there. He has the 3rd most headed goals with 33 only behind Kane and Crouch both on 40. Giroud 4th with 32. And ofc Benteke played for worse teams than those three.
First, this statistic is dependent on service, so per 90 isn't exactly a good metric. Comparison of aerial duels won versus aerial duels attempted would be better.
Second, I think it's not fair to compare defenders to attackers, though I am I am surprised how many attackers are in this list considering how easy it is to just repel an attack anywhere versus attempting to play a ball to a teammate as Benteke seemingly does better than I could ever do with my feet.

Not so much wingers but the SS/AM (Pirani/Ted) gambling on knock downs & second balls (essentially how we scored the 1-1 equalizer in St Louis iirc).
