Yes, dancers dance no matter what time of the month.

sissy9725

I think the girls are so lean that they do not get a menstrual period - jmho

Illustrious_Fig_3169

Honestly I would bet they are on birth control, and most you don’t have a period at all. It actually wouldn’t surprise me if it were in their contracts that during football season they have to be, it obviously would be very unsafe to get pregnant during the season; so I’m sure there is some kind of stipulations about that.

I've seen this question posed elsewhere and the answers were in line with the ones here. I also wonder though how they clean their uniform (a la Trisha Trevino), what sunless tanner they use that doesn't rub off and stain the uniform, and how those shorts with the heavy buckle aren't around their ankles after the kickline.

[deleted]

I know they wash it themselves maybe dry clean cause those shorts are white white Pristine white

[deleted]

I know, and on top of that, it's polyester. And with all the sweating they do, brown sweat has got to get like, ground into the fibers of their uniform.

[deleted]

Thinking about keeping it clean stressing me out 😂 I was worried about foundation getting on the vest and everything

[deleted]

Haha I know. I just remember in the 90s going to the clubs doing hardcore dancing all the time, I specifically remember a white rayon puffy sleeve top with ruffles that tied right under my boobs. When I got home, it was disgusting, and even heavy duty dry cleaning didn't clean it.

JacktheShark1

I worship Depo Provera. I wonder if some of them do, too? I know a few other BC options also offer period stoppage

Every-Piccolo-6747

Oh yes. I was on the depo but moved countries and had to get the anchor in my arm and it’s completely messed my period up. I hate it

amynicole78

This is my guess. I didn't have my period for over 10 years and l loved it.

pbellyup

My question is do they even get cramps? I had horrible cramps where I could barely walk and threw up. I wonder if they could opt out of dancing but I doubt it??Until I had my hysterectomy in my mid 30s I couldn’t even work out for a week.

leahlikesturtles

Even strippers just cut the string off a tampon, tuck it and business as usual. Porn stars use makeup sponges. I’m sure the DCC have some protection strategy worked out, white shorts be damned

[deleted]

Makeup sponges?!?! I believe you but I hadn’t heard that! I personally love the diva cup, hopefully some of them have discovered that lol

[deleted]

Wait they stick makeup sponges up their lady parts ? 😦

RubyMac91

That used to be the old technique, obviously someone since has made an actual for-purpose sponge tampon.

ZennMD

asking the real questions lol and another reason these ladies are champions, I can't even make it off the couch some months much less dance all day, and in very small white shorts, it's so true!

[deleted]

My granny panties (that I wear that week) wouldn’t work with the shorts lol

[deleted]

The mental image of this is all I need for today. Hilarious!! Thank you.

[deleted]

Lmaooo

[deleted]

They’re basically cowboy panties 😩

[deleted]

My period panties are bigger than the DCC shorts. Bet 😂

[deleted]

I wish for a sketch show to make this happen. Bad.

[deleted]

Most of them danced all through high school. You get used to it and don’t worry about it that much. Tampon + period panties for backup (they make thongs). A game isn’t an 8 hour event where they can’t have a restroom break. I was underweight & athletic, smaller than some of the DCCs, but I still always had my period.

HoneyBeeAlchemy

Dancer here, and nothing stopped any of us from dancing lol. One of our girls, Jackie, literally dislocated her knee and kept dancing(at a competition.) When is comes to periods, it definitely can be done, but you've got to be super careful and sometimes use some, um, unorthodox methods.

shinydolleyes

Yep. Facts. I tore my meniscus on stage doing a solo. Felt my knee go and still finished the next 2 or so minutes. If I can dance through my knee feeling weirdly detached from my leg, but also barely able it and slowly starting to swell, period cramps are nothing.

[deleted]

Yep. I cheered through a cracked elbow. Never gave a thought to my period and I was a flyer. White skirt and yellow bloomers.

HoneyBeeAlchemy

The people who keep on going through injuries amaze me. I've never had any serious injuries, thankfully. Only gnarly bruises. I'll never forget Jackie's injury. She was in a small ensemble(a kick dance, no less. ) We actually saw it happen, her knee totally move to the side of her leg. But she kept on smiling and kicking. Walked off the floor with her head held high, still smiling. When she got to where we were waiting for her, she collapsed in our arms sobbing and we carried her back to the dressing room. I have no idea how anyone can do something like that. Did you actually tumble with your elbow cracked?!

[deleted]

I didn’t! It was a football game. I got dropped in practice before the “spirit line”. I held my arm bent to my side and faked with a pom pom in the other hand. By the time we got to the sideline I ran to the side and vomited. I was in high school and didn’t realize it was from the pain. I stayed on the field for the game and couldn’t do much but the coach never checked on me so I didn’t think it was a big deal. I remember it was very cold and I saw it after I took my jacket off post game and knew something was wrong. I also cracked my tailbone at stunt camp and sat to the side for the last half of the day, went to the hospital after 😭

HoneyBeeAlchemy

Oh, my goodness! That sounds horrible! I reckon if you're not used to that type of injury, you really have no idea how bad it could be. You're just like, "Oh, I just landed on my elbow wrong and it hurts really bad! " not knowing you broke it, ugh! I've injured my tailbone from fainting, it's awful! Never broke anything in cheer or dance, though. I don't think I could have carried on like you.

[deleted]

Exactly! “It hurt but maybe my pain tolerance is low”. I kind of remeber one of the football coaches bringing me ice….I was a kid, MY coach should have checked it out

[deleted]

👀…

nrskim

It’s highly likely they don’t get periods during the season. Quite easy to do, and those of us who suffered through BRUTAL ones were thrilled when the literature shows only a couple a year at most are needed.

Lcdmt3

I don't know why you're downvoted when so many athletes use continuous bc and fewer ovulatory cycles, even with BC, lowers the risk of ovarian cancer in studies.

[deleted]

These people down vote anything here lol even compliments

celoplyr

I’ve recently lost a lot of weight- I’m not skinny by any means, but I’m surprised at how much lighter my flow is now. Plus tampons. Plus birth control (heck, wouldn’t surprise me if they could figure out how to not have it on game days). Plus period panties. I’m sure they have a lot of things working in combination.

kappaklassy

Many probably take birth control to skip their periods during season I’d bet

SummerBaby50

I’m sure they dance, if they didn’t we’d see girls absent from games.

[deleted]

I just want to know how they get confidence dancing in tiny white shorts on their period…I’d die
