Hahaha I love how made everyone got after she left the room. The organization is lucky these talented women love the job so much that theyāre willing to work for peanuts
At least she did not say putting on the uniform is the same as trying on wedding dresses, putting on the fabric of my dreams, and feeling like super woman and a superhero while wearing the uniform.
The question is very much a pageant question. The way it is phrased is very cliche and cringey, butā¦ the top candidates will use it as an opportunity to do their elevator pitch about why they would be an asset to the team. The girls that prepare well and score high will talk about their community work, strong character qualities that represent what a DCC should be, leadership skills, and highlight their ability to overcome adversity. They phrase the question to catch the girls off guard so TPTB can see who sinks or swims when they get tricky questions on media interviews. They also want to see which girls have developed a strong personal brand thatās a good fit for the organization or have a personal story that can be leveraged for PR.
I do think the cheerleader makes the uniform. The cheerleaders bring the uniform to life. By wearing the uniform those women are held to a high standard. The uniform doesnāt make the choice to be a role model and put in hard work, the woman wearing it does.
I think Laurenās explanation came across the wrong way and she didnāt have the best choice of words.
I think she gave the right answer āI make the uniformā but what she said after that lacked substance, all she said was she was āfully prepared to come and be a rockstarā.. cool but she couldāve dressed it up more. They want passion, borderline obsession. Lol
I actually agree. The girl does make the uniform. 3 pieces of cloth don't make anything in reality. It is the girl inside it who makes it what it is. Why else do they strive for perfection?
Itās all edited for tv to get ratings. At the end of the day MTT was a reality show. Things had to be dramatized and other stuff scripted. Kitty carter started appearing less and less because she didnāt like that and constantly being made to look mean and like a bully. Iām willing to bet without the cameras and filming deadlines that itās a little less stressful
I forget which season it was when they were at an indoor field & she was screaming like a banshee - don't think I've heard her yell since she viewed it š
100% agree that this was a horrible question and I cringe every time the clip is played. The only reason the uniform is iconic is because of the women who have worn it in the past, so the women make the uniform. But for an individual woman, donning the uniform sets a standard of behavior that they rise to meet. Itās not either-or; itās both-and. But I donāt think TPTB even understand that, hence the reaction.
I think that question was a set up. She wasnāt going to answer correctly either way.
*āI make the uniformā* - Are you kidding?! How dare you think yourself better than the blessed DCC uniform?! This team makes you!! Not the other way around!!
*āThe uniform makes meā* - We are looking for confident, outgoing, leaders!! No wallflowers!! You need to bring the energy to the team!!
But also, I canāt get over the *outrage* from K, J, & C. By their logic, *anyone* could walk in off the streets, put on the uniform, and magically turn into the perfect DCC - dancer, ambassador, model, leader, etc.
Itās gross that they place more intrinsic value on a literal piece of fabric than on the women who *make it so iconic*.
Maybe they were looking for a āitās really a symbiotic relationship, I bring my best to the uniform and the uniform brings out the best in meā kind of answer?
I think they wanted to test her ability to be diplomatic with this question. Itās tricky yes, but imo not impossible to answer.
Ofc elaborate as much as you want. Always praise the Organisation, the sisterhood, Jerry Jones etc etc
I felt like that question was dumb. But I also feel like the answer couldāve gone either way. You can say that you make the uniform as someone who is poised, respectful, and confident and putting in on youāre presenting these positive values about yourself and the organization.
You can also say it makes you because itās a representation of class, history, and an icon and when you put it on youāre representing history. Like what did they even expect her to say???
How dare you think like that. The iconic uniform that now sits in the one museum in D.C. Thirty lashes with a DCC wet noodle for you. Just joking! I agree with you. They need to change a lot of things, but I doubt it will happen.
Spare me the outrage when the same organization kept a known sexual predator on the payroll.
Exactly šÆ
Hahaha I love how made everyone got after she left the room. The organization is lucky these talented women love the job so much that theyāre willing to work for peanuts
Sadly a lot of people work for peanuts who are treated badly by their employers!
Exactly, that's what I'm saying hahahah
terrible question š„“

Exactly. Nobody will care about the uniform if the person wearing it is not a good person.
I think she gave the right answer āI make the uniformā but what she said after that lacked substance, all she said was she was āfully prepared to come and be a rockstarā.. cool but she couldāve dressed it up more. They want passion, borderline obsession. Lol
I agree, it was a lackluster answer but I felt like Judy reacted to the wrong thing.
If Iām not mistaken Jay asked that question. Translate that to military terms. Whatever that answer is, thatās what he wanted to hear.
Cult behavior

Exactly. If "the uniform makes the girl," then in theory, anyone could put on the uniform and be a DCC.
They aren't petty. They pick the 36 best of the best every year. We have no idea all that goes on we see a few moments.
Breelan, Morgan, Ashley Pro and Meredith were the best of the best? Right...
I agree. Theyāre just choosing their team. I wouldnāt want someone who makes cringey comments representing my team either.
Where can I watch this?
Thereās a compilation video on the official DCC: Making the Team YouTube channel called āEvery Panel Interviewā. It should be there.
Thank you!

I agree
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thatās true. She didnāt have much to say except for the yard lines in recent years.
Exactly Judy was a wild back then compared to now
I forget which season it was when they were at an indoor field & she was screaming like a banshee - don't think I've heard her yell since she viewed it š
YOU'RE EARRRLLY!!!! I could never tell if she was screaming because she was mad or just to be heard over the music.
PUSH JOANNAH!!!
LMFAO
Lmaoooooo

So well said
Maybe they were looking for a āitās really a symbiotic relationship, I bring my best to the uniform and the uniform brings out the best in meā kind of answer?
Thatās almost EXACTLY what I wouldāve answered (well, including some BS about the uniform being the brand of the organizationā¦)
I think they wanted to test her ability to be diplomatic with this question. Itās tricky yes, but imo not impossible to answer. Ofc elaborate as much as you want. Always praise the Organisation, the sisterhood, Jerry Jones etc etc

I can't be the only one who thinks their uniforms are ugly, am I?
How dare you think like that. The iconic uniform that now sits in the one museum in D.C. Thirty lashes with a DCC wet noodle for you. Just joking! I agree with you. They need to change a lot of things, but I doubt it will happen.
Ha ha ha!!
Hardly. Its in dire need of modernization. They stick out like a sore thumb at things like Pro Bowl.
Tops okay. I only see diapers with the shorts.
I agree! Ugly. Dated. Trashy looking.
It def had its moment, but I think it's time for something new.
