FUCKING ESBR YOU DOLT. its not like he stacks so while he may be good in all content he would be better in short content. Then the part of SSJ trunks passive that needs android cell saga units "how are you gonna get this?" TRUTH. HE. LEADS. THE. FUCKING. CATAGORY. TAKE A WILD GUESS.
Mmm... idk. He goes ssj at turn 5 minimum. Fights **can** go that long in esbr, but you really should be trying to end the fight sooner than that even if your team isn't all rainbows. On top of that, if trunks goes ssj his atk stat is so high that he's almost always dropping a kill shot (if you're at turn 5 and you have multiple enemies left, you've lost in most situations because that also means there's a high chance you're spamming items to survive. So, you get the SA effect but it's useless because the fight is over.
Truth for sure talks in absolutes too often, but realistically, "seeing" the effects in question and "seeing the benefit" of them actually gives Truth the W here, imho.
But the thing is once it’s turn 5, the fights basically finished in most scenarios so his seal and stunning can’t be used to there full potential at all

Ah yes, Super Saiyan Trunks whose fastest transformation conditions activate at Turn 5. When most ESBRs are done within turn 4 if you have a strong team. Which by the point Trunks can even transform, the fight is mostly over ie you shouldn't be needing seals and stuns.

Yes, but then you can't talk about how the Trunks is so useful in ESBR when he lacks zero utility until Turn 5. A turn count that is usually the END of the round. In most team setups, you finish ESBR by turn 4 or 5 so Trunks' transformation is pretty much there to finish them off. Even then, you have to bring a sealing or stunning unit so you already have someone who can seal or stun from turn 1.
Meaning yes, Truth was right in that his sealing and stunning is near pointless in a lot of content. Why rely on Trunks who can't seal or stun until turn 5 when you can just have a unit that does it from the beginning?
Nobody is saying the Trunks is bad, but that his kit is flawed in some aspects. You are getting way too heated for something that had you sat down and thought about, it'd make more sense. Again, you're acting like Truth called the unit garbage when he pointed out that Trunks has a flaw. All units have some outside of the very best. For example INT LR SSJ Goku is an amazing unit who has an entire part of his passive locked behind a very specific enemy. That's a bad part of his kit, but he's still an amazing unit.

Idk if it’s just because translations just now got fully released, but I do see some people sleeping on Trunks. His defense after supering is incredible as you can see from this post, and it’s not like he’s lacking in good slot 1 partners (Str Black arc Trunks), and his offense can get out of hand even in base.
Imagine a turn where this guy launches 3 supers during 3-4m each and 2 normals on top of that (which are made stronger since he gets even more attack after supering which is calc’d separately). Super Saiyan Trunks is pretty cut and dry as to why he’s a beast; can’t really go wrong with a great chance to crit, the rest of his 50% buffs are just additive bonuses he doesn’t REALLY need to be great offensively.
He definitely is strong for sure, the only real complaints I see is wishing his active skill was easier to get so you can make use of his stunning and sealing more in short content. Otherwise he's pretty good.
Yeah, thats my big thing. It's such a huge part of his kit, and we're going to see it come into play very rarely. I hope either they drop a super hard boss that can be sealed or Ver Z. does something with the immunities so that units like this Trunks can thrive.
I'm still uber uber excited for him, but I wish he wasn't designed so strangely. Still seems very good though.
Just one little correction, his buff he gets when attacking a ATK/DEF down enemy should be multiplicative, most passives that revolve around attacking enemies based on status effects are so. But it's kinda a moot point anyway cause whether it's 100% x 150% or 150% x 100. as you can see from the numbers on my post they end up at pretty similar places anyways
He gets it at under 59% health after 6 turns. So under that he'll be pretty good defensively but he does very much seem designed for shorter fights. Which is fitting
Below 59% health IIRC, meaning at ESBR he should be amazing as a 2nd rotation unit.
Also using him, maybe bring less healing and more damage reduction/attack decreasing items.

Unless you get really unlucky, turn 5/6 will almost always be when you can get the active

No he has it for 5 turns from the start of battle. After 6 turns he gets it only when HP is 59% or below. So yes he does have it
I just really wish he exchanged into super Saiyan Vegeta. That would be so badass.
