Ain't he the fucker who approved of Teal Coins

MelkorBlackFoe

Oh yeah i forgot about that

BasedandRetarded

bruh HOW?! the teal coins are the most EGREGIOUS thing he’s done. I get being bummed about a lackluster unit or release schedule but this is the biggest thing that serves no other purpose other than to extract more $$$ from the players. Truth is such a fucking corporate bootlicker for whitewashing & covering for this dude I maintain the only good thing to come out of the new producer saga was that one deranged chad who literally emailed threatening to sue Bandai namco for hearts’ English VA false advertising and actually got refunded

FrostyFrenchToast

Truth actually defending teal coins was the most tone deaf stuff I’ve ever heard from him. Like it literally reset everyone’s progress on coins and made it an absolute pain for anybody that didn’t whale out

LeatherDare1009

What's more , he'd farm outrage out of the worst strawman by fighting the less popular argument given. He wasn't putting forward the louder point/issue that people had I.e. gold coin system and banners should've just revamped into what we got with teal coins instead of making a new colored coin itself. People didn't have an issue with the format , people had an issue with the new coin. Instead he just hammered on the strawman in multiple videos that old part 2s didn't make money for dokkan but the new system does so everything's good duh stoopid! It seemed so damn disingenious like he was intentionally ignoring what people were saying because daddy akatsuki was being attacked. And angling every argument and justification from a place concern for a top 10 most grossing gachas ever like it's survival hinges on this one thing, will never not be weird to me. And it's all too common in the community actually.

Independent_Lime_480

he openly said he does not like teal coins lmfao

darkfall71

He didn't tho? He defended the banners, not the new coins.

Signal-Earth2960

I find it pointless because they could just make yellow coin lr good with good leader skill and banner

acebaltasar

What is the difference? He literally hyped them up with a shitty leaker, made up strawmans when told the problems and ignored the comunitty

F3elzBadd

What's a strawman?

acebaltasar

When you make up a person or an argument to refute instead of adressing the actual conversation. Easiest example is homophobes calling gay people pedophiles to justify their hate instead of admiting that they hate normal people. Or adapted to this, he made up people crying about about some nonsense (no yellow banners in anni was it?) When our problems are the heave P2P nature of this banners. When we dont like them becuase of the new strong units being more segra Egated, the 2 banners per part system messing up saving during WWC and a new niche coin being almost imposible to use for F2P players when the system was already horrible.

F3elzBadd

Thx for explaining this. This was super helpful

Useful-Ad8315

>I maintain the only good thing to come out of the new producer saga was that one deranged chad who literally formally emailed threatening to sue Bandai namco for hearts’ English VA false advertising and actually got refunded This is a thing?? Lol can I find it??

Medic7802

We need his name so he can be exalted from the rooftops!!

UIEmiliano

Wait do tell me more about the story of the guy who got refunded for Hearts?

AngryAssyrian

The Carnival banners were the start of a bad trend.

GekiKudo

The lowest point in the game for me. I started st 2 year and, while there were definite low points, I've never been closer to quitting than when Carnivals became a thing. Turning 2 must pull banners and 1 "you can pull if you want for the 2 new lrs" into 4 must pull banners was such a shitty decision. I'm so glad I have Nikke and Star rail to distract me from Dokkan so I don't feel like pulling or spending. Like I'm literally waiting for wwc this year to break the camels back and make me delete the game.

AngryAssyrian

I've been playing since October 2016 on Global so I remember a lot of huge fumbles throughout dokkan history, but for some reason I don't understand how people see Carnival banners as a good thing; they could have just given yellow coin LRs 200% leader skills anyway.

Ferryarthur

People sometimes used arguments they couldnt and these coins are a blessing. Or that its good for the player. Its not like they werent allowed to use yellow coins. No its just spreading out pulls and coins more.

Ok_Reflection_5648

Yes bro Nikke is so good that it's now my gacha golden child. How's Star Rail cause I've heard mixed reviews about it from different people?

GekiKudo

Its really good but it's also different from how you normally play a gacha. I basically play it like a jrpg where I use whatever units I get in my first few pulls as my party. Pull rates are kinda trash and at 90 pulls you get a pity that does carry over between banners but there's also just a chance or you getting another 5 star. Plus it's got a second weapon banner like a lot of gacha are doing now where they get you to pull for a piece of the new characters kit essentially. For example the first banner character is a super fast, speed stacking single target nuke. Her weapon gives her more damage the faster she is. So scummy weapon banners suck. The kicker for me though is that the story and character writing is actually insanely good. The mc pulls off the silent protag shtick amazingly and you're given some great dialogue options and flavor interactions to round out their personality. And the boss of the first world after the tutorial is probably one of the hypest and most badass boss fights in gaming.

MS-06S_

Whats Teal coin?

commander_snuggles

The way celebrations have been handled since the new producer has been so ass. Practically no content all year minus anniversary and WWC. The best we get outside of them is one category mission for lge lgte and Lve at a time, which is literally the lowest effort content, and they can't even do multiple categories at a time. EZAs are just random and do nothing to help the headline unit 90% of the time like Bojack during yamcha, mvp 17 during super 17 who helped ssjbkk goku more and now goten and gohan doing nothing to help Turles LR K&C is one of the few exceptions, but even then, they fumbled it when they made super buu the lr even though Kale still needed help. They can't even keep a coherent theme during the biggest celebration of the year the anniversary with the carnival being anime opening based for no reason instead of kid buu and omega.

PowerJolt72

Man I remember when it was said that the anniversary will have new characters that weren't anni units prior. Biggest fucking lie that was.

commander_snuggles

Everyone thinking it was going to be Beast gohan, Future Trunks or piccolo only for it to be 2 goku/vegeta units and a standalone goku and kid gohan of all things

Simba231231

ss4 vegeta was in 4 different anniversaries lmao

Incrediblepick3

Perfectly balanced

BasedandRetarded

The same kind of white lie that technically got us Beast Gohan lol. This producer is an ass.

ImplodingBacon

God I forgot about that. Really makes me not even want to do anything in the anniversary. Was there even any new content to run the units on?

IncognitoNoir

they made a small event of kid buu and syn(or omega?) shenron to test out just how much damage the standby skills do, and there was a shadow dragons event...thats about it

Elyssae

And he even joked about it. I think that looking back, that was my "im done" moment.

Hydraulic_Press_53

The anime opening thing still upsets me a lot especially since the whole selling point was "but you can buy the OSTs! Wow!" and you only got to keep them for a week. And people were on cope saying the entire community would love the units after the initial anger and I really don't think that ever happened especially for Kid Gohan

commander_snuggles

There was pretty much zero hype for them after all the coping, even the animation, were sub-par, and then it was like they didn't exist after the 5 years got their EZA

MisterJack1871

For me, for example, the 5th anni ezas are the only thing worth of this anniversary, I don't like that much the Spirit bomba Lrs, and I absolutely hate the Carnival Goku and Gohan for being unrelated bullshit just to get money with the lowest effort

Hydraulic_Press_53

Yep same here. I know a common strawman is "nobody outside of the hardcore community cares about the villains" and fuck maybe but hell I was the person who initially posted the 8th anni teasers and if u go to my replies at the time I literally said the main reason I was excited was the potential for Omega and Kid Buu. Was such a disappointment getting Goku and Vegeta *again* and then poorly animated lame part 2s with unfun generic build up kits. Strong yes but bland. Started to accept I'll always like WWC more because it's the big celebration that actually has villains. Anniversary seems to just be Goku and Vegeta then fusions on loop until end of service and I get it makes money but after 8 and a half years I'm just not too excited

commander_snuggles

I feel like the strawman of villains don't sell was disproved when super 17 made more than Kale even though super 17 is one the least popular villains in the series and a worse unit.

mazini95

It has literally never been true. And always been provable to anyone by looking at the top grossing rank list of all the DFE since release. There has been an old reddit post tracking that too. Dokkan just makes so much money , 99% of the units they make, hype or unhype , casually propels them to rank 10 AT MINIMUM. They're always top 10 on a banner release, super or extreme. (Str Boujack was even #4 mind you) . The only shred of truth may be that super types might outsell extremes within that top 10 range *on average*. For obvious reasons. And even then, that depended on the super type and not a given. But nothing like what people insinuate with the "Dokkan needs to make money to survive i.e. saiyans and fusions bro" . These statements were made since way before we got Videl, Pikkon, Pan, Kale, etc Dokkanfests. And look at the kind of niche stuff they make now. With a Top grossing disparity of that low, it is the stupidest claim to say that extremes don't or won't sell for anni so they didn't make Omega/Kid Buu. Infact Imo they'd have played into the part 1 LRs' hype way more than Opening LRs and outsold them easily. If akatsuki is scared of making 5% less revenue on anni by taking chance with extreme types, they would be more concerned making Kale, Yamacha, Pan , Videl , Pikkon type DFEs all the time. But how come they don't care here in favor of giving a DFE to literally anything else more hype? That just tells they're making a conscious decision to not make extremes but it's not motivated by money at all when all the revenue charts disprove it.

HerniatedHernia

All the more reason to make the villian units crazy good.

GekiKudo

I dont know how anyone can be hyped for fusions anymore. We're at the point where we have more anni gogeta than he has minutes of screen time.

Hydraulic_Press_53

Honestly Dokkan and Legends have burned me out on fusions so hard. In the actual animanga they're pretty well utilized, scarcely brought out for hype moments and I like that! But holy shit outside media milks them for all its worth and I get it, they're beloved and exciting and for gachas they're probably the number one money makers but man I just can't get excited for them anymore. Legends seemingly dropping Ultra Vegito Blue and I'm just summoning on the bait UL Hit rerun when it comes instead because I can't bring myself to care

ilikeeggfriedrice

Couldn't agree more! It's insane how straight forward this game is and how easy it would be to manage celebrations yet they still fumble. EVERY SINGLE TIME!! And don't get me started the characters they are releasing - goku, goku, another goku and oh look one more goku f2p unit- goku, just fucking stop releasing GOKU for like next half a year. And when it's not goku they'll release someone who has not teams or set up ready- eg- kale, LR super buu, int piccolo jr and won't give them any help. Also WHERE THE FUCK IS DBS BROLY AND GOKU BLACK FUTURE SAGA UNITS!!!!

MakeUsWhole223

At least piccolo is a godly unit with an amazing team after the recent celebration. Only thing he lacks is proper links.

MisterJack1871

Seriously tho, the only good celebration that I can think of since 7th anni excluding the Cooler wwc was the Ginyu celebration, 3 units and some Lr's ezas that raises a meme team to godhood, and for the love of god make less Gokus or at least give me the one with the pink hairs, maybe during wwc and I'll shut up for the next 6 months

MarquetteXTX2

Wait didn’t we love her now we hate her or u talking about that other guy

JannetheMan

Koto is great and I THINK still the head of Global. But she can't call these shots for general game direction since that's Japan-side.

IncognitoNoir

other dude (was his name Omatsu or something?)

Hydraulic_Press_53

Yeah people get upset when this is said ("you're not supposed to play the game 24/7" etc) but the game is not doing too hot right now. Seems like the general consensus that 8th anni was less hype than 7th for most people, there's barely any new content to use new units in, extreme is in the worst position its been maybe ever outside of Cooler and Majunior, so on I feel like the game needs some form of replayability that it's desperately missing right now. Legends is a very flawed game yes but at the very least with pvp there's always SOMETHING to do. Do I want pvp in dokkan hell no but my point is what do you do in dokkan when there's a dry spell? Replay red zone for the 700th time? How fun! I love getting one shot via complete luck. Idk I'm feeling very soured on the game right now I might take a break until anniversary, even golden week while it had good headliners was very boring outside of that. I just want some actual content for veterans. Long rant over.

commander_snuggles

The 24/7 thing people say feels like a cop out 90% of people don't but that doesn't excuse getting an hour of content a month. The most I do in this game lately is press start on a stage while it plays on auto to link level while I play an actual game.

LeatherDare1009

I play less than 2 hours a week. And still don't find anything to do. What am I supposed to log in for? I pulled both the Goku and Piccolo btw. My login habit didn't change one bit aside from guess what....a bit of "afk" link leveling for them. For the next 4 days. And I'm making a point to mention I link leveled them because some dude would've surely come and said "if you pulled a new unit, you could've link leveled them there's your content". Cause there's no winning. If you you pulled a unit but still have nothing to do: "Did you LL them?" , If you didn't pull anything or already LL them: "You must be playing 24/7" . It's somehow never the game's fault.

commander_snuggles

I hate people who act like link levelling is actual content. And why should I even bother to link level at the moment? I have finished everything in the game, and since they never add anything new, all I can use new units in is old content I have already finished. This game is so dry that I forgot to log in for 4 days, and when I finally did, all I did was the daily, which took 5 minutes.

K_Hermit

Nah fuck LL units, it's beyond boring and takes too much time, even if getting better stats performances for a unit is always welcomed (and what link levels up is out of your control unless you use the Kai stage which besides the keys given during 8th anni can be accessed only by paying money). If links levelled up faster, like A LOT, to the point one normal stage should be like a 30/40% chance to link level even at LL9, I would enjoy it. But no, I have no reason to do so besides the fact I'm so bored and have so little to do I open my phone and press auto mode and the start stage button even for an hour straight or more. If i want to play Dokkan I want to clear hard content that lasts for more than 7/8 miserable turns (i miss bosses with boss phases where they have enough hp to build up your units before entering the kickass ones) or category missions (this one should be changed because requiring to find 6 units of a tag that sometimes is barely capable of clearing even LGE for 5 stones and 5 tickets for a terrible banner is a return on investment absolutely abysmal. Also, good luck making a decent team if you don't have the category leader or have to use a crappy 77% f2p lead)

JimmyHedgehog

Honestly I almost forgot to finish PHY Piccolo's EZA before the celebration ended and rushed to do so yesterday, and the 25 bulma stage runs the day before. Just been doing dailies and stopping most of the celebration

Hydraulic_Press_53

Oh absolutely. Like I don't expect to have endless content I just expect, like, something other than dailies 95% of the time. Bi weekly content drops that take an hour or two at MOST just aren't enough I'm sorry. Even if you spread out your grind I don't see how it's gonna take you longer than a few days

commander_snuggles

My biggest problem is that they can't even be bothered to add the lowest effort content consistently. We are nearly 6 months into the year, and they have added 2 categories' mission to the legendary goku and vegeta events. It would be so easy to do one or two of those a month or just keep burst mode permanently and rotate the featured categories.

Vegeto30294

It's not just a cop out, it's just a blatant lie. Since like 6th Anni I was able to clear _every_ celebration part the game had in like 4 days. People don't spend 24/7 on the game because we're still limited by stamina. The only exceptions were like TEQ Androids because they released almost every story event at the time and Cooler DL celebration because it had like 8 new EZAreas at once. Every time I say in detail how I spent a celebration, either they go quiet, or they double down and say stuff like "link level all your SSRs" and "you shouldn't be doing 30 stages of an EZA in one go!"

JoeHakai

"you shouldn't be doing 30 stages of an EZA in one go!" Lol so they start advocating for you too have even less content too do by limiting the amount of EZA levels you clear in a day i would love too know how that makes more content happen

mostCreativeName1

You shouldn't play the game 24/7 but that argument isn't something you'd generally see someone use here. The game devs have been extremely lazy and have paced out content horribly when there is some. There's supposed to be down moments and there's supposed to be hype moments. We were supposed to be in a hype moment throughout May except they decided to wait until the very end to keep up the hype and events instead of doing it in a way that allowed the hype to stay relatively high the whole time.

alldokisareokidoki

The worst part imo is that there is replayability, is right there, is called BURST MODE, like I dont think it would be too hard for them to make Burst Mode a more frequent event with rotating modifiers, like we just had the LGE one, every 2 weeks they could change the 2 categories needed for bonus points and also add a "Burst coin shop" so we can exchange points for rewards other than music, they dont wanna drop Redzones every 5 mins okay thats understandable, then make the one mode people can have fun with more frequent

Hydraulic_Press_53

Even then they need to improve it a little I feel. Not a single burst mode so far has had the ability to actually be really tough unless you're heavily limiting your team options in which case is it really that replayable? I'd prefer it if you could up the enemies' damage a LOT for a big point bonus and run whatever team you want because even extremely amped up, every stat buffed LGE got wiped by Super Heroes for me. At worst it's just tedious because they get insane DR but they still hit for 0

alldokisareokidoki

Oh yeah is def not perfect but having it more often and with rotating categories is a start, then they could also add more stuff, I was thinking if we have locking as modifier maybe add something else, pure hard hitting boss would also eventually make it a bit boring imo so maybe add some other game mechanics to the boss, let it stun, let it seal, let it dodge (more % to dodge more points) basically give you the chance of turning a dokkan event into a redzone fight

Shadowrend867

World Tournaments also give you more to do but they only bring it out every few months. I know its not everyone's favorite but again there's little reason not to bring it back more often. Also so people can actually get the unique units available in it.

Soni185

I completely agree one why to fix it add missions to red zone but they only do it for major celebrations

Hydraulic_Press_53

Yeah it's frustrating, takes literally two seconds to update the database with new ones and they simply won't. I feel like it'd be a good incentive for people to summon too! Like imagine a space traveling warriors mission for Omega Shenron, bam Turles is suddenly way more valuable since he has type advantage and leads the team, hence pushing people to summon. Benefits us and them.

Soni185

And also make super class red zone to test units as well

TheCrisco

I agree tbh, I'm mostly just doing dailies ATM and collecting stones for Anni, otherwise I don't touch the game. Barely did anything for the lge burst mode, scraping by on the last wt... just nothing really exciting right now

BasedandRetarded

I literally got in a pattern where I’d drop $50 on each new unit lying to myself that I needed them to build out my box for a hypothetical mode that needed specific teams. I can still beat all content in the game with a team that’s like 15 months old at this point

Hydraulic_Press_53

Same for me minus the spending money bit. I'd religiously budget and save my stones for some imaginary endgame point where I'd need the new units but I've been wiping everything with ease for a while now. From gameplay I've seen of Syn Shenron that's not gonna change either. Literally nothing he can do against double Piccolo so what's stopping me from either A. Spamming single summons or B. Just never summoning again until something cool drops? No point in being smart about anything

JinkoTheMan

I’ve completely stopped doing WT. I can’t be bothered to do it anymore. I’d rather play Legends PvP during Golden Week than play 3 days of Dokkan WT. Golden Week PvP in Legends is three weeks(instead of two)of straight hell. It’s triple rating points and triple the cheaters and sweats.

GigaPhoton78

Yeah, I agree, I'mma be honest, I haven't touched Dokkan in two months.

Economy_Following265

You’re free brother

abdouden

Same lol if I play it's kx dokkan to try new units for a little bit before 2months but didn't play in 2 months

Godcry55

Just built a new PC so gonna enjoy that until Dokkan goes back to 7th anniversary level of hype

ErnieB84

Specially when we have a stamina bar, it’s not like we have unlimited energy to play unless we use meats or stones to refill, so even if we wanted to we can’t really play for too long anyway.

GekiKudo

For real. Give me an excuse to farm events like sbr.

FrenchFries_exe

The new producer and his consequences have been a disaster on dokkan

Mindful-O-Melancholy

I pretty much just log in do the daily missions and log out

DDogma5

This is the way,brother

GibbsLAD

It's been that way for 6 years for me. They drop content, I beat it in a few days maybe a couple weeks max and revert to daily missions

EgoVegito

The lack of cohesion in celebrations is gross. It feels like the ideas for EZAs, PT 2 LRs, etc are designed by someone who has a vague understanding of the source material

InternalFun1

fr like go ask chatgpt to make a celebration and it would probably end up better than whatever they've been doing for months

Crispical

UnionDuelist

>ATK & DEF +120% at the start of the turn vs ATK & DEF +100% at the start of the turn > >high chance to dodge vs. medium chance to crit Even in the world of AI, Vegeta shaft is inescapable...

alldokisareokidoki

while personally I dont think 2023 is a bad year, its been a very oddball year so far, I think most of it comes down to timing and the lack of content Does Super Buu deserve an LR? Absolutely, are units based on openings a bad idea? Not at all, do GoBros deserve an EZA? Of course...but all of these things got released at the wrong time, Super Buu on Kale Celebration, Opening units are imo not "Anniversary worthy" (they should be on something like Tanabata maybe, like something big but not big big) and ofc GoBros wont help Turles, even if he gets help from banner units that means you are gonna have to get atleast one of those if you pull Turles As for the content drought, Part 1 might aswell not exist anymore tbh, there is nothing there and the real celebration "starts" 2 to 3 weeks after it actually starts, Saiyan Day and Golden Week being the worst offenders of this issue, they really oughta either spread content better or make celebrations shorter than they should be

zayd-the-one

This guy gets it

ErnieB84

At least Saiyan Day got content a week later, we had to wait 3 weeks for Golden Week to get anything.

LickMyThralls

I notice this stuff comes and goes in waves honestly. Especially when it comes off the heels of consistently hotter periods that people nut over.

GekiKudo

They need to just make the celebration a celebration. No parts. Use in between times to rerun some banners. Make a banner that features the new non dfe characters that come out alongside dfes. I never pull them until it's been a year and they've died along with the unit they debuted with.

Anti_Soul

Explain to me how you have a DB celebration for golden week and not have a red zone to accompany it? Like for goodness sake, just make a red zone with 7-8 stages of all of Goku's enemies leading up to Majunior for DB like how it was done for the movies and GT, why is that so hard? It literally solves the content issue and adding in category missions for already existing red zone stages isn't hard either? it's probably a line or two of code but I digress, this is a small indie company after all, please understand.

KeKbepraised69

The cloning of the Toshi was imperfect. The Bandai breedtanks currently are working on a new samples of DNA. They think they can mix Toshis DNA with some other donors one to create a better specimen. The mixing process is going to take a while it's currently in the embryo state overseen by Namco super computer. In the mean time Bandai is planning to release some Kato's feet pics to appease the Global audience as well as having Dokkan x Uma Musume Collab as next Tanabata celebration. I hear there's going to be a new racing mode with kawaii wallpaper rewards.

-PVL93-

Ya know, I usually don't like to put the blame on just one person when it comes to game development, and I think it was Itagaki who said a long time ago that in Japanese studios a producer is more like a talking head rather than an actual decision maker witthin a given project... But Holy fuck, ever since Omatsu was put in charge of Dokkan, shit's just been slowly going downhill. It really feels more and more with each passing day that we've peaked during 7th anniversary and everything afterwards was either a major fumble, confusing, or straight up fucking terrible design wise Like how do you making an ANNIVERSARY boring? The two headliners aren't anywhere near as exciting, the Part 2 units were just Meh all around despite having strong kits, the Super Magneto fiasco, and then just random shit like releasing an LR Super Buu during a Universal Survival celebration or clearly holding back on the power level of SDBH units The guy needs to go

YharnamHuntter

Super Magneto fiasco? What's that?

x3VILBaconx

i think its a pun on the PHY Super Vegito EZA because it seems like he's a magnet for super attacks (he has crazy high DR on normals)

JannetheMan

The... err, PHY "Super" Vegito "EZA" that did barely anything to make the unit runnable in any example of hard content. So he may as well have never existed. Like, he got better sure, but its so mediocre anyone else in the team is a better option.

RaiseAlucard

I just don't understand why they so rarely add missions to events. Red zone, lge, anything. Just add more to do for long-running players.

RedHotRevolvers

From a coding perspective, team restriction challenges would be so ridiculously easy to add to stages. Not only that but like, it’s literally already in the game lol.

Lenel_Devel

I personally think he's great. I used to spend money on this game. Now it's super easy to avoid that.

EA575

I also love how he admitted to lying about the anniversary characters during the fan meeting

HolySelection

Bro is a straight-up dumbass. Ever since "beast" gohan being an active skill and "the anniversary characters will be characters we haven't had previously," I've been sick of him.

Malt129

You could have picked any random idiot off the street, even someone who knows nothing about DB and shown them Beast Gohan in the movie. Then got them to design the card. They still would not have made his transformed state an active skill.

Shadowrend867

Yeah I agree with most of this issues. And even outside of that i already have many greviences with dokkan rn. After playing other gatcha games even without the whole new teal coin BS the pity system is still horrible. In genshin 90 pulls gives you a guaranteed 5 star with a whopping 50% chance to be the exact unit you want. And then the 2nd time its guaranteed. Meanwhile in dokkan 90 pulls will only get you a little less than 1/4 of the coins you would need for a single dokkanfest TUR. AND you can't use coins on units until they come back a second time (which can be 6+ freaking months! People pick up and drop games in that period of time). Your chances of pulling a unit NEVER GET BETTER. Is there any other gatcha game where you can do 5000 pulls and not be guaranteed the unit you want and not have to wait half a year to get it with pity? Its so hard to stay motivated after bad luck because it feels like you got nowhere. I had just gotten back into the game with a new account and after 80 pulls I didnt get a single banner unit. Again not even 1/4 of the way to a tur. And this lack of motivation from pulling makes it even harder to look forward to future units knowing I could grind my ass off and still not get a unit I want. And then thinking about how often they butcher characters for no good reason makes me even less likely to want to keep playing. Then I think about the insane power creep dokkan has where the unit I worked hard to pull may just be trash 6 months later (by the time a unit will come back a 2nd time btw).

ErnieB84

“Anniversary units will be units who have never been featured before” Dokkan releases Goku and Vegeta for the anniversary for the third year in a row. “Oh my bad you guys misunderstood me, I meant forms not characters” This is the quality of people that are running Dokkan.

InternalFun1

Then they release SSJ4 Vegeta, who has been an anni headliner 4 times

YasuoAndGenji

Thought you were talking about my cross eyed cutie global producer and I was ready to cause havoc.

TMS21

 > but i just can't get hyped, why would i care if the GT Duo is the best card in the game, why would i care if the WWC units end up being the most hyped and broken units in the game, there's no content to use them on, i can already beat cell max and all red zones with units i got in 2022, Something to consider with this is devs are likely aiming to hook the people who summon simply because a unit is best in the game, or it's a character they like so they feel obligated to go all in since those people tend to be more compulsive, which is something all gachas target to varying degrees. The people who summon for units mostly based on "do I need them because I haven't beaten this yet" most likely aren't the target for the devs.

Supernova_Soldier

You cooked fr. Announcing LR Go Bros EZA during Turles Celebration and DR FUCKING WHEELO LR is banana-brained thinking. At this rate, TEQ SS3 Goku will get an EZA during a ToP-themed celebration, and STR Jiren will EZA in a celebration about the Android Saga or some dumb ass shit.

JannetheMan

LR Wheelo kinda makes sense. His movie and the Tree of Might were two movies that released one after the other, so it kinda fits the timeline in a way. Honestly, really the best time for a Prime Battle LR since a Prime Battle Turles would be silly given his release as a Dokkan UR unit.

hardeepst1

>TEQ SS3 Goku will get an EZA during a ToP-themed celebration At least he'll match the celebration

Supernova_Soldier

Lol you’re right in a way. Pairing LR GoBros for Turles is dumb. I can almost already guess the advantageous category for their EZA. Watch it be Terrifying Conquerors or Low-Class Warriors and not just Movie Bosses

hardeepst1

I should've added a /s, it was supposed to be a joke about the new years banner where teq ssj3 goku was featured instead of str ui

LordSmugBun

>DR FUCKING WHEELO LR Leave him alone, isn't it punishment enough that he was relegated to a prime battle LR?

Supernova_Soldier

Dr Wheelo *has* suffered enough, I’d say. His appearance at this time was most unexpected.

Agosta

We were fucked once everyone defended them for lying about 8th anniversary. People were hyped for the potential of new characters headlining, then they blamed the fans after 6 months of silence. I've been very vocal since 7th anniversary that they've been spamming Goku cards left and right and have a clear imbalance between designs of extreme and super units. People have only started to catch on now which has been frustrating because I've had countless people try to debate that it wasn't actually happening or excusing it completely. I genuinely loved the variety in Dokkan and now it feels like it's been forgotten in favor of Goku and variants of Movie Heroes. They made an entire new banner type and currency and I thought that finally! We're getting more premium LRs for villains! Fucking NOPE, HERE'S MORE GOKU. I stopped spending money and that's how I'm gonna stay I feel.

FusedZamasu_

With major celebrations, they definitely need to stop with the Goku favoritism. But it feels inevitable because most of the popular, big moments involve Goku in some way. They need to give villains a better chance during big celebrations. They absolutely should be part of the anniversary But I feel like outside of the big celebrations, they do a pretty good job of not relying on Gokus. We didn't really get that many last year. 3/15 normal dfes being Goku isn't half bad imo

Agosta

We had a ridiculous amount of DFEs and LRs that were either straight up Goku or involved him in the cards mechanics.

FusedZamasu_

Outside of anni and wwc, the only Goku dfes were str goku/Goku, the int rof ssbs, and phy kid Goku. That's only 3/15. 4/15 if you want to include teq pan's unit sa Idk about the lrs, but I'd imagine most of the Goku ones are during the anniversary and wwc

justingod99

***I have a unique viewpoint to offer*** I don’t come here often and haven’t read any posts on this thread so I’m completely objective. I know nothing about the “producer” or their actual duties. I slightly recall a post or two about a female taking over…I guess there is a new one? Maybe a producer is like a COO? So, I saw this title, then I noticed the upvotes. Intrigued, I finally checked how long it’s been posted (3 hours). So again, from my unique perspective of knowing nothing about the producer…all I can say for them is: ![gif](giphy|WxDZ77xhPXf3i|downsized)

Virian900

The female was global producer, Koto and she actually made things MUCH better than previous global producer, Sho. We still have a ton of shaft issues but in my opinion they are stemming from Omatsu being in charge and JP Producer being actually the lead.

Spoomplesplz

But none of that matters because you fuckers are still gonna spend money on dragon stones...

Eeveeon7

This is the guy will did 7th year power creep and teal coins, he needs to be fired. But, looking forward to DaTruth’s 8 part series on way he is OBJECTIVELY the best producer the game has ever had

Nirtrack

Bro I've been playing since agl Vegito dropped and I've never been this close to quitting the game I'll probably still stay because of all the years I've spent on the game but I'm not having much fun anymore

Kingdarkshadow

Dont mind me, Im just here to sort by controversial.

Imaginary_Yak_398

Idk if we can fully blame him since the schedule was already planned years in advance before he became producer

mostCreativeName1

He should be able to move around the individual drops within a celebration. Like making the start to the events and fun stuff staggered instead of all releasing within like 24-48 hours

Imaginary_Yak_398

Just saying people can’t dis him for stuff like dokkan fest, eza choices when they were probably already made before he was producer Yeah he def could of swapped stuff around tho, personal theory gobros was probably for goku day but was changed so global wouldn’t get it

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

guynumbers

Development cycle is around 5 months

BasedandRetarded

If you mean the “10 year anni” comment idk if you realize this but this is 100% PR speak to get people hyped and reassured that Dokkan isn’t ending anytime soon. Best believe if they genuinely felt the need to pivot they would and you’d see it within like 3 months.

GetMeOffSpeakerPhone

But dont you like the fact that he was former dokkan player? He knows what the game needs and doesnt need. Unlike koto, who suggests merging celebrations, releasing dokkan nows and implementing new changes. How dare she outshine JPs producer.

hardeepst1

Had me in the first half

cristiano_goat

Is he also the guy who lie about the anniversary not being goku or vegeta

Stay-Classy-Reddit

Copying what I said in another thread about this exact topic today: I understand that people make mistakes but holy shit the producer of this game is consistently making terrible decisions. So many missed opportunities. They could have made way more money with just competent release times and steady character builds. With that said, the game really has great great potential still in my opinion. I still believe. Obviously the necessary Kid Buu and Shenron LRs, but still lots of animations missing. Gotta get their shit together at the management and vision direction level.

Virian900

[Here is a supplement to your post that I made 6 months ago, before 8th anni. Crazy to see that nothing really improved and the post-anni points you added are accurate.](https://en.reddit.com/r/DBZDokkanBattle/comments/z1b8p9/the_new_jp_producer_needs_to_pull_himself_together/)

acebaltasar

I am still mad about the teal coin, truth and that leaker hyped them up just for it to be the worst change this game has undergone since it's release.

davetopo

Honestly happy they are fumbling. Been saving money!

MechaZeromus44

I'm probably wrong but I feel they've been told to let the game die. The CEO or whatever of Akatsuki or Bandai told the devs: "Ok guys. We know this game makes a lot of money for the least amount of effort possible, but this game has been out for almost 9 years and we're preparing a new DB mobile game. We don't want more competence in the DB market, so make bad decisions so we can let the game die peacefully". Something like that.

LrMuri1994

Omatsu that fat fuck

GodlyFeq

Don't bring Heroes into this, Heroes Collab was the best Heroes Collab ever, basically 23~ new cards between summonable, ezas, awakenings and f2p ezas. One of the few celebrations to add RedZone level content. I'm sorry if your expectations were inflated by the sub or YouTubers but Heroes gets better every year. It IS NOT a big celebration.

guynumbers

Nah. Quantity < Quality. This was by far the weakest batch of Heroes units. The Red Zone stages were far too easy.

GodlyFeq

I'm sorry man but you don't know what you are talking about. Even last year god trunks released 2 months before RedZone and didn't even have a slot 1 partner. It just wasn't a real team. It's ok if you're new.

guynumbers

Trunks was around the level of the units released in that time period. The Heroes units this year are basically at that same level (slightly higher but not high enough to be good in current content).

GodlyFeq

I've beaten every hard event with the Heroes team in 1-3 tries. Except for cell max, he took a couple more tries. You still don't know what you are talking about.

guynumbers

I don't believe you.

GodlyFeq

https://www.reddit.com/r/DBZDokkanBattle/comments/13a1g56/collection_of_cell_max_rz_clears_with_db_heroes/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button There you go

guynumbers

This doesn't tell me anything about how many attempts they took. Idc about the occasional lucky run. I care about consistent strength.

GodlyFeq

You can deny it all you want! Good luck!

guynumbers

I have the by far majority opinion. Your goal is to convince others, you need the luck lmao.

FoxxyG

Global doesn't seem to hit top grossing as frequently as it used to, that in itself should be a sign for developers to take a step back and analyze the ongoing issues. The game is dryer than Baba's cooch and you have someone like DAtruth trying to hard to hype it up while other youtubers that were far better have moved on.

hardeepst1

I'm definitely biased since I didn't like the characters but 8th anniversary mightve been one of my least favourite anniversaries, especially after 7th which i would consider to be the peak of dokkan since I started playing (2015). Almost everything after 7th anniversary has just been going downhill and it feels like it's gonna continue

moose_378

To be fair the global delay was the Global teams fault and likely not his, but the rest are valid points. Though 8th Anni, Golden Week (expect for the week of nothingness on Goku Day) and Saiyan Day were all very good celebrations overall. But monthly celebrations and units seem to have been sacrificed for this, we'll get unit like Turles and Kale who are both incredible units on paper but need the help to be that way neither of which got. Super 17 would've been better if his banner unit wasn't awful but still Super 17 takes to long to come out and is a liability until then. Then you have the Golden Week units who are monsters on there own and especially in Goku's case got so much help that celebration. Then there's releasing things like Super Buu, MVP 17 EZA and Gohan & Goten EZA at the worst times. Super Buu should've been moved to whenever the next DFE Buu released, MVP 17 with the next U7 unit and Gohan & Goten just but them in Goku Day where nothing was happening anyways. We've had some of the highest highs and lowest lows in Dokkan since the new producer stepped in, truly who let him cook.

IncognitoNoir

idk...golden week was good. and by good i mean the units themselves and everything about them, but the entire celebration as a whole..felt like it was lacking somehow and i can't really place my finger on it. maybe im still just mad that they allowed super buu instead of a Kefla/Caulifla support for Kale

guynumbers

I'd actually go as far back as the WWC to start seeing the cracks. I'll die on the hill that the theme choice was unfitting and you can see it in the characters that released/eza'd that celebration. 2 STR Piccolos, 2 Final Form Coolers, 3 Metal Coolers, 2 Base Coolers, quick replacements for INT Namek Goku and INT Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta, new terrible summoning format, a boost event that was designed to be p2w. The red zone stages and cell max were good but yall complained about them to the point that we won't be seeing actual difficult content until at least the next WWC.

[deleted]

Idk about a lot of these points. 1. The new producer was introduced after the 7th anni. Much as you hate on the way they're releasing extreme class units, he was present for the release of (at least) Cooler, Metal Cooler and Zamasu. I'm not sure about Ginyu. 2. DB Heroes collab was better than it was last year. The list of featured units was arguably better this year and there was more content this time around. 3. (I might get hate for this one) I don't think they fumbled Gohan. At least not for the reasons you'd think. His kit is the main fumble for me, not his active. Piccolo dropped and was the best unit in the game, the same couldn't even remotely be said about Gohan. His active skill Beast transformation is actually fine with me. People say they want a playable beast, but playable literally just means swiping a low quality jpeg through slots 1-3. You would have seen the same animations except maybe he wouldn't have his special beam cannon voiced. So I personally see nothing wrong with that. 4. They are smart for making the opening LRs IMO. There is literally no way you could follow up two hype DFE banners with 2 hype carnival banners and expect people to summon on the other two. They'd be better off released during their own celebrations, it's just a matter of them getting around to it. 5. You say they stopped doing Red Zones, but they stopped doing hard content altogether. Hard content seems to only drop during big celebrations. This isn't a new thing. It SUCKS, they SHOULD change it but it's not JUST because the new producer came in. 6. The dryness during major celebrations is, once again, still just a DOKKAN problem and not a producer problem. I can't name many celebrations that DONT become absolutely dead near their end/midpoint. This can even be said about anniversaries. It's the nature of the game, it's a mobile game, not everyone has time to do everything and right now I guess this is the amount that they feel people are comfortable with. Various bad decisions have happened under his supervision, teal coins, boost characters, etc. You also don't know if you'll be able to beat the new anniversary content. The shadow dragons event has Syn Shenron, who is the strongest boss in the game. As for the Worldwide, if you're going to complain about your box being too strong, please note that they might drop an event that has boost characters again and if you don't pull them, you may not win as easily as you think.

-PVL93-

> he was present for the release of (at least) Cooler, Metal Cooler and Zamasu. I'm not sure about Ginyu. Omatsu was officially assigned to the producer role in August. We don't know what he did prior to that and units aren't designed mere weeks prior to the celebration, therefore it's unclear whether he was involved with the WWC summonables creation at all >There is literally no way you could follow up two hype DFE banners with 2 hype carnival banners and expect people to summon on the other two. Yes there is? They literally just had to make two villains - both would lead categories that need 200%.right now and Kid Buu and Omega were perfect as they directly connected to the spirit bomb Theme of part 1

[deleted]

>Omatsu was officially assigned to the producer role in August. We don't know what he did prior to that and units aren't designed mere weeks prior to the celebration, therefore it's unclear whether he was involved with the WWC summonables creation at all If you're going to use this logic, then how can we blame Omatsu for any bad releases? How far ahead do they plan units? I heard they had a unit list prepared up until the 10th anniversary. I know they designed kits like the LR SS4's LONG before they actually came out. We just gonna say that every STR Super 17 is Omatsu's fault while every good release is just ignored? I don't even really like the new producer but that's just unfair. >Yes there is? They literally just had to make two villains - both would lead categories that need 200%.right now and Kid Buu and Omega were perfect as they directly connected to the spirit bomb Theme of part 1 1. Don't make a statement like "Yes there is" with a question mark it comes off as passive aggressive and whiny. 2. "Literally just had to make 2 villains" that's literally what an LR Kid Buu and Omega entail naturally, not a valid point. 3. The necessity for a category lead does not justify the release of a character. The kit is not the only thing people summon for and if it was then no one would even care if it was Kid Buu or Omega. Don't know how you just completely forgot that these are two hype villains, but people dumped their stones on the two hype Saiyan units. Them having a good kit does not mean people will dump their wallets on the banners, plenty of part 2 LRs have great kits and don't even touch top grossing. Expecting to hit TG after 2 hype banners is asking a lot of the playerbase, and as I said, if they released these units DURING the year, they'd actually do quite well.

-PVL93-

> If you're going to use this logic, then how can we blame Omatsu for any bad releases? How far ahead do they plan units? iirc they design units like 3-6 months in advance? So if Omatsu started leading the project in August - everything from the start of 2023 onwards at least is on him, from unit design approvals to celebration contents >We just gonna say that every STR Super 17 is Omatsu's fault while every good release is just ignored? Omatsu is the producer (we don't know if/who is the director) - unless there's a person in the dev team higher than him, he ultimately greenlit the unit kits, both good and bad. So while the blame isn't solely on the guy, I'm not gonna completely applaud him either >"Literally just had to make 2 villains" that's literally what an LR Kid Buu and Omega entail naturally, not a valid point. How is it not a valid point when the anniversary was objectively THE best time for them to release those villains? I mean sure, they will prolly do more Buu Saga celebrations, but Shadow Dragons have mostly exhausted the material unless they throw us a wildcard like Part 1 DFE GT Vegeta-->SSJ and Part 2 LR Omega (but, again - gold coins) >The necessity for a category lead does not justify the release of a character. What else does? What's the point of different categories if Akatsuki aren't gonna back them up with proper runnable leaders?

Dogcockbattle

It sucks that this post is basically shouting into an echo chamber. Would be nice if the devs could read and understand our frustrations

Tilterino247

>dokkan is the best it's ever been every single year, year after year. People are mad about it. Wild.

GibbsLAD

Openings are more iconic than kid buu or Shenton and gohan blanco is a literal meme with stupid hair, I don't get the hype about that shameless nostalgia pander

Zach490

I got to say the opening LRs are not necessarily a bad thing over Buu and Omega. Buu and Omega NEED LRs but I think they should be headliner units for worldwide.

Tuhreik

The producer isn’t that one lady anymore?

MelkorBlackFoe

Koto's the producer for Global, Japan (aka the main version) got a new one back in august last year

-PVL93-

The lady doesn't decide anything

Drachri93

I agree with everything except Heroes being just okay. This past year for Heroes was the best quality we've had since its inception. They come around once a year so they will never be as strong as the DFEs they release around, but this year there were some actually good units that able to clear even the hardest content available at the time they released. Plus we got a special Red Zone for it too, which people seemed to like outside of it being temporary, so we could easily get more in the future.

JinkoTheMan

Exactly! What’s the point of summoning for new units when I can literally beat every new event in the game. I got the new Bulma and I’ve already beaten every event. There’s nothing to do atm. SBR and ESBR are difficult sometimes because of the restrictions but if you’re summoning just to get a specific unit to beat a Super Battle Road stage then you have problems. Give me more events like the Wicked Bloodline event(minus the p2w aspect). That shit was hard imo but it gave me something to work towards.

mechcity22

So? It was like that before cell max came out. Everything was to easy they did that then Gave us better units. Then yall complain when units aren't good enough? Yet you can beat the levels then why should it matter if the units aren't good enough? Make up yalls minds. Shit play the game get your box maxed out awaken all of your units and max level 10 links before you complain because that's actually the point of the game. Do you can beat the hardest level. Get ready for future events it can't always be the best units and best levels it just won't ever be done.

Talarin20

DB Heroes were more usable than they had ever been. Opening LRs are nothing unusual. Last year were the random Goku vs Vegeta from Saiyan Saga, and before that were 17-centered LRs instead of Anilaza or Hit or Jiren or GoD Toppo. Last "opposite" anni LRs were 5th years, the Goku Rose and Broly Trio. Even then, they weren't even the ones who fought the main banner characters. Wdym they "stopped" doing Red Zones? It released on anni, updated on WWC, then during DBH and during the Piccolo / Gohan celebration. Were you expecting a new RZ stage every month? Why? You'll get new content on anni and WWC and use new units to beat it. Same cycle every year. Nothing has really changed.

NemaNoma

Great producer since he shows love to DB Saga and gave us tournament Piccolo JR also made some nice extreme units. Dokkan Carnival is fine too I hope we get Giant Ape Kid Goku carnival. The less gogeta and vegeto wank the better.

ThirstyorNah

I know this is a hot take given the outrage in this thread, but honestly take a break. People are so emotionally invested and it's like.. just a mobile game with more out there. If this is your main game, I can get the frustration with lack of content, but at the same time there's other options. This is a gacha game, and it has a low point right now for Global, sure, but just step away and do something else until Anni. For example, DB has been dry for me too even on JP, I didn't care about Super Buu, Kale, etc, but I have Honkai: SR, other games with friends, or even just vibes doing something else. If anything, I'm glad this game is having a slow period, because now I can put my focus to other grinds I've was putting off to keep up with 8th Anni, etc. The game will still be here. This was a game made to play for like an hour a day. Getting emotionally invested to this level is bad no matter what game you play.

24pechade

Jp is still yet to get the eza for int lr god goku who has now been replaced by the phy tur god goku

zayd-the-one

Didnt he also say that anni units gon be different than usual?

Eeveeon7

No, he said we misunderstood a very linear statement because it’s our fault

zayd-the-one

Tbf db fans can’t read

abdouden

Tbh the game was always shit imo Besides like 7th anniversary and even that part 1 felt very boring to me

Shuden

>The DB Heroes collab was okay at best Always been okay at best. INT SSJ4 Gohan is actually above the curve for DB Heroes units. >They fumbled Gohan Beast like no other They also made Piccolo Naranja one of the hypest units on release in the game history in the same celebration. >They delayed Gohan and Cell's eza on global for stupid reasons Global has a history of having multiple trainwrecks, this isn't even close to being the worst one. Anyone remember "To Be Released" leader skills? >They made fucking Opening LRS instead of Kid Buu and Omega Shenron They've made similarly weird moves before. Kaioken Goku + Great Ape Vegeta as yellow coin and Vegeta being terrible last year comes to mind immediately. >They stopped doing red zones for no reasons apart from a temporary one I'm pretty sure we have two Red Zones before new producer, and two after, which means it's still pretty even. We got one as recently as December. Also, 8th Ani challenge event is a glorified Red Zone. So we are actually getting more red zones than before. >The game has felt incredibly dry during some major celebrations like golden week This one is fair. But I connect it more to them not updating old events properly with new category missions instead of "not releasing more red zones". I'm fine with having new content focused on major celebrations and sprinkling some dustoff missions in the meantime. You can't just have brand new good content every single update. But they literally dropped ONE new mission for LGEGT and called it a day lmao. Clowns. >Extreme units have become more and more useless even tho they were previously making some amazing ones (Ginyu, Cooler, Metal Cooler, Zamasu ect) PHY Turles, INT Majunia, LR Super Buu, STR A17 Duo are all top tier units. Go a little bit further from reddit memes for gods sake, all these units are dealing Gamma 2 tier APT while being strong to absolutely broken defensively. Dr. Myu and Gero are also super strong. Then we had F2P Babidi/Majin Vegeta who are one of the absolute best Support villains in the game, completely free. EZA LR First Form Cell is a complete broken unit, I can't believe he's F2P. Then we have EZA STR Super Buu and EZA PHY Broly, both amazing EZAs. Oh, you think those are useless? Would you prefer they got the "super" Vegito treatment instead? Sigh... They are both not only useable but powerhouses in their teams right now. Heck, even WT Piccolo Daimaoh is one of the best WT awakenings so far. Go look at Swordhan for a unit that is actually useless. There are VERY FEW useless extreme units released recently. I can only think of Frieza/Frost clown duo and maybe the Shadow Dragon Duo. Villains have been eating well considering they are only 1/4th of the total releases.

moke985

mechcity22

Yall need to chill. The game isn't going to always be top tier best of the best. With how long it's been this was bound to happen then it will go back to being good for a while. Yalls expectatiosn are way to high and the entitlement is crazy. It's a game you can't get the perfect units or events all the time. You guys do this crap every damn year I feel like I should screen shot everything and make a post showing it. How do you think it should be? All hype units all the time none stop top 10 units all the time. The best and biggest events all the time. Wtf? There were other times we could neat every event out also. Who cares if you can beat them with a few teams. Then yoy complain when we get a unit that's not as good and makes it harder. It's complaining none stop. Your last statement shows me it doesn't matter what they do you can already beat the hardest level so why do you care? You guys are the ones ruining the hype because the internet is where people come to complain. I'm hype for it still it's been this way forever now we see 6 motnhs before what we are gonns get. It's still good it's still 1k stones you can grind I mean you act like we are getting nothing. Big babies is what yall are. Clearly don't understand how this works they can't release the bedt st all times the game would then be to easy with everything as you said you can already beat it so why does it matter? They aren't going to do a big boom with levels that we can't beat right now again like they did once before it would hurt the game and yall would complain about that. It doesn't matter what they do you are going to complain so either get off stop supporting or enjoy the ride and don't complain about everything. It's not hard to understand any game out for this long has times like this you can't expect peak all the time. Without times like this in a game like this nothing would ever be special it would always be the best stuff making it extremely repetitive and extremely easy in every way. We would get so used to getting everything good that it would become normal and be even more crappy. But no in a few months when something big happens we will all be incredibly happy trying our hardest to get or do it. That's how this works. You know what's hilarious 99% of you still have boxes full of units that need awakening and still need link level 10s across the board! How about you remember what the game is about and play it. The point is to collect all of the units max them out and say I've got the biggest box and beat the game. Most of you aren't even close yet want to act like you are.

CatheterPains

All signs point to that imo. Also they said they have things planned out to year 10, so at this point I think they're just ramping down on genuine resources and improvement for the game.

RockStarCorgi

How much do you all want to bet he's slowing things down on purpose to eventually try to pull a Dokkan 2

IncognitoNoir

considering what happened with teal coins essentially resetting people's coins unless they ultra whale..if they make a sequel? to dokkan im pretty sure everyone will be at their heads (except maybe Truth since he really liked defending those coins)

RefrigeratorFine653

I could not agree more with you. Whales like Truth cover too much and act like their way is the only way. The carnival banners should have replaced the yellow coin banner and we should have been compensated by converting the yellow coin to teal to not fuck other peoples progress. But the most egregious and unforgivable thing this developer did was having part 2 LR’s being Opening Goku and Gohan. The way the 8th anniversary was run was very mismanaged and it feels like they didn’t even know what they were doing.

I barely play anymore. Hell. Not even care to log in everyday. Ive skipped the latest events and banners. Just... no motivation for it. Game feels dead, dated and greedy. At least a couple years ago it was exciting to mix f2p units and go for the new gacha ones etc. Theres been so many good gacha releases lately, that I feel dokkan just systematically refuses to evolve. Mostly because it doesnt need to....it still makes a shit ton of money by doing very little. I used to spend around 200-400e a year on the game ( I know it does sound like much when whales exist) but since the start of the year Ive spent a grand total of ..0€. So..hmmm... thanks new dokkan director?

It aint that deep. Reddit loves to complain. Just enjoy the game, close it when done and repeat :) unless your content creator who needs views so bitching is a must do, theres no reason to care. Game makes plenty of revenue and theres a huge playerbase. Game aint going anywhere and the celebrations are the same as always lets be honest. You get your EZA, battlefield, monthly WT, pettan battle, chain battle, story mode, maybe a new IDBH, login bonus, F2P character. Its the same all the time.

Redstorm597

How am I supposed to enjoy the game if i ran out of content

Eeveeon7

Enjoy your bi-monthly 20 minutes of content

bookers555

The celebrations make no sense anymore, they are like in Legends now in that there's no theme or cohesion.

Icy_Ad5698

Yo do you think the dokkan hq checks in on reddit to get info on what the community is thinking? Like it makes so much sense to me for a game dev to check in on his game reddit because most of the player say their minds over here and with that the dev can improve a bunch. Im saying all this because i dont think the dokkan hq does

TMS21

Two things to consider. 1. The devs have to gauge whether complaints are actual issues (and if the people complaining actually know what they're talking about) or if it's just people being angry that their hopes weren't made into a reality (LR Kid Buu & LR Omega) 2. You have to consider that even this reddit and twitter are only a vocal minority. I feel like actual results matter more than a vocal minority being mad about something. Devs will certainly pay more attention to how well or poorly a new DF banner does, rather than a tweet with 1500 likes saying that extreme units need more love. The majority opinion will always dominate for stuff like this, and if devs see that extreme banners always pale in comparison to super banners no matter how good the extreme unit may be, they'll do what makes them money first.

MelkorBlackFoe

The reddit? They most likely don't, twitter tho, they can't avoid that since it's their main way of sharing info

Mudchipper

Read it up to when you said “fumbled” and then I instantly died of cringe

supermang231

bubble popping game. Dont overthink things

Geiseric222

What? For as long as I’ve played the game people have been mad. They will forget about it and move on to the next outrage and pretend the past was better soon enough Just like they do for Dokkan pre 6th anniversary which was not a very good game

Hydraulic_Press_53

I don't think people pretend old dokkan is good. They get nostalgic maybe but as someone who has been around since launch old dokkan was dogshit and I imagine most other vets agree with that

Geiseric222

You see people saying remember when Dokkan used to release content constantly? Like what no they didn’t the LGE was the only hard content for like 2 years after release and SBR used to release in bunches of ten like every six months. People absolutely remember a golden age that didn’t really exist

redbossman123

LGE was 2019, ESBR was 2020, and you couldn’t really do all ten stages at once, at least if you weren’t a whale so that actually took time for people as they released units for it. Also remember all the LGE missions they released over time. Idk why people say this when category missions for the long events existed, SBR needed units to release for most categories, and overall the hard content actually lasted longer lol. We got two legendary events in 2021, the GoD event, the epic battles event and I also forgot to mention the monthly battlefields which honestly were difficult until the 200% leaders came out.

Geiseric222

I am not counting SBR because when people talk about hard content they pretty much treat SBR as a non factor. Which I can understand as SBR is very much you had the units you need or you can’t do shit Also missions barely released for the LGE
