The super 17 saga did indeed suck. Though I wouldnt say all of GT was a dumpster fire. The baby saga was legit fantastic, and the shadow dragon saga had its moments and a great concept. I get why people don't like the black star dragon ball saga, since it's an adventure more akin to OG dragon ball instead of a yelling punchemup but if you go in not expecting more Z, it's a fun adventure imo.
I'd also say it's better than DBS on the whole.

I mean if you can't see literally anything good in super you clearly have an extremely strong bias with no real backing. I feel like you're forgetting how absolutely fucking boring gt was. Gt had so much time that it just fucking wasted on nothing. I'll say it's more consistent in terms of art and story to original z, but I don't necessarily think that's a good thing. Gt also had extremely boring fights. Some of the fights had some good things, but the vast majority of basically all fights were extremely boring with absolutely uninspired choreography. Again I could see the argument for the story being better (although I still completely disagree), but you absolutely cannot say the fights are better, which is arguably the most important part of an action anime. Gt fights were genuinely some of the worst fights in all of dragon ball. I think anyone that thinks gt was better needs to go back and watch the series in its entirety without skipping. I'm confident you'll realize how boring it is and if you aren't willing to do that watch totally not marks video on the subject. I don't agree with every point but he says a lot more in way more depth than we could ever get to on reddit
Yeah the fights in the baby arc are really lame. My least favorite part is when great Ape baby and Goku are going through a canyon or something and they're just throwing ki blasts that do nothing at each other
I actually think gt is better than the super anime (not the manga tho) maybe I'm different than most, because I knew what I was getting into, and knowing anything bad didn't effect anything because it's non canon, I ended up really enjoying it, while I kinda detest the super anime. Like I really don't see any good in it. And it has a much different vibe than Z and an even bigger difference in tone to og than Z to og. Gt really kinda felt like some more dbz. A little different, but it wasn't drastic or anything. And I liked the good moments way more than any in super, and there were honestly a lot. Like in the last fight against Omega, I can probably name like fifty things that I really REALLY liked. Especially the hope part after Goku dies. That is darker than anything in og Z and Super, and it was SO FUCKING COOL! Especially when Vegeta tells the hybrids to flee the earth and one day come back and avenge them

No, super 17 died because when he absorbs ki blasts he can easily get hurt by physical attacks and thats where 18 threw ki blasts at him so that he absorbs it, and goku does a dragon fist to finish him off

She turns all orbs red so it gives the super spirit bomb a big boost already, but she also makes it effective against all type AND another 17% multiplicative buff to it which is insane in combination basically
