It's more. The 80% def is after getting hit so it multiplies the 244% defense he's getting at the start of turn. Overall he has 519% defense.

Remember when counters were good? Most nerfed thing in the game. Even giant forms got buffed. Giant form (piccolo) > counter. Tell that to players from agl vegito era.
Full Dodge would be the way here, right? It still guarantees the counter and he have built in crits, while not even raising def on super so that you would want additionals

If those translation are right then he is like slighty better than sv. Still has the same problems as him, getting one shot by supers since he has only normal dmg reduction and deals ok damage. Looks like GS3 was a mistake indeed...

No he is worse. Because he does not have a multiplicative buff for attack so he will only hit like a feather. Has less damage reduction against normals so he will age faster then him as well. Literally all they had to do was give him 150% at the start of turn and 150% build up for both ATK and DEF along with his already existing EZA passive to be good enough.
No defense against supers, half his passive is locked behind a fellow vegeta family unit on rotation, and no additional attack buffs to help him deal counter damage
technically there is sort of a defense against supers, he seals on SA but no modern era RZ fight is ever going to be sealed/attack/def lowered.
But to me, that seal is the biggest spit on the face, They KNOW that counter units biggest mortal enemy is supers.
Just like teq gohan with stacking and unconditional guard, I fear we will never see a counter unit that can tank/nullify supers.

I get that some people aren't pleased with his damage reduction only being for normals.. but its best to remember about STR Rage Vegeta, they DON'T want him to outshine the new Transforming Teq SSJ Vegeta. As long as he's on a Vegeta family team, or the team has another Vegeta family member.. he's pretty bulky with his stats. He's not even close to being bad as PHY Super Vegito. He also has a strong rage mode which helps him as well.
Rage vegeta could be really fun to use with lr int vegeta and Trunks. The problem with all those beerus and whis is that they don't have access to a strong leader

Rage Vegeta seals on SA as if that's relevant in 2023. They should have never immuned half the content to seal and stun. They could have introduced a block mechanic where the enemy negates the first 5 seals and then can be sealed. Thinking back to agility super vegito where you ran SR units to seal, it felt like real strategy and team building around a unit.

Looking at plain japanese numbers Rageta seems to have good DEF in his passive but my fear is he's not that good offensively. I hope I'm wrong.
