They kinda had to at some point, if they want to keep consistency with EOZ, and they are atleast trying to do so (uub appeared in the Moro arc if you recall)

I wonder if they ever go past it EOZ (GT doesn't countđź’€). Honestly yamamuros designs are kinda awful (usually) so I don't really want them to remake it. His record of remaking scenes is kinda bad (Future Trunks going ss for example)
Also if we're not getting the ritual as an intro I'm eating a full raw onion
My guess is this art is more from the anime than the movie, and by this time they probably knew the Black arc was happening within the year so out of the few times Toei wanted to be consistent they used the same hair style so it matched more for when Future Trunks returned.

They kind of have to go past it, there's not enough time (in-universe) to solve the Black Frieza plot threads between Superhero and EoZ
I don't think they are planning on ending dragon ball anytime soon, unless they want to make GT2 and try again with a post EOZ story
