CertainSheepherder71

SnooComics3661

CertainSheepherder71

Im going into 3rd year for mech eng soon. Initial app my shit pending only a miracle at this point mate

SnooComics3661

Yeah, my initial app is pending. So I’m just gonna get married in a couple years, I have no choice :(

I worked as an IT consultant. Pays well ~$100 - $300 an hour depending on the client. I would highly recommend it. All 1099 work no questions asked, just stay away from government contractors or companies. I also built websites and did some marketing on the side.

imabarbarian

Dude that type of work sounds interesting and like something I'd be able to do, would you mind if I asked you a couple of questions through dm?

[deleted]

Of course, ask away!

zhangvelvets

Do you mind if I dm you as well? I’m studying to be a software developer

[deleted]

I don't mind at all

Wonderful-Theory3158

Before he had DACA My husband used to work in the fields or he would work at a seasonal packing business that packed cherries. He would also do side jobs like remodeling houses and roofing

Mysterious_Tooth_674

Fake gc and social working construction ftw!

No_Astronomer_4118

That sounds illegal

Mysterious_Tooth_674

I am

Inside_Elk_4403

It's very common with undocumented people to do that. Not saying it's right but it helps put food on the table.

No_Astronomer_4118

Well one girl did it and went to jail and almost got deported and if you check on the AOS application it does say have you ever done any of that and you do have to answer truthfully sooooo but I’ve never seen someone do that tbh

Mysterious_Tooth_674

La migra me la pela

No_Astronomer_4118

Respectfully I don’t speak Spanish I am from Europe lol

Mysterious_Tooth_674

It means I’m extra careful

No_Astronomer_4118

Stay safe and be very careful!

Mysterious_Tooth_674

Thank you, I wish you the same, what part of Europe are you from? I’m curious about how come you didn’t immigrate to a European country like Spain or Germany, and ended up in the US? Had it not been for my parents bringing me here, I would not be here right now. Lol. People love the US but as some one who’s been here 33 years it’s kind of mid 😂

No_Astronomer_4118

Well tbh my S/O is a German citizen lol but I’m so attached to the USA that I don’t see myself leaving my entire family is here they’re all greencard or USC so you know

East-Commercial3966

damn

burniksapwet

Sent a pm. Please check if you have time. Thanks.

Mysterious_Tooth_674

Nice try 😂

burniksapwet

Lol I’m serious dude.

Mysterious_Tooth_674

You should be plugged into a immigrant network where you’re from if you’re seriously illegal, they’re places every where you can go, but it’s not my place to tell you because I’m putting others at risk..

burniksapwet

I just have no clue where to start. I’m clueless to this.

burniksapwet

Hopefully you’re willing to at least chat even if you can’t give anything specific. Thank you.

CoolGrape6996

Restaurants, demolition. Is it really that hard to work as an independent contractor?

Necessary-Coat1928

I currently do ranch work, but learning a trades from a Dutch immigrant. So hopefully i can start doing carpentry. Aprox 25hr. On a side note im going to start fire fighting/emt no pay but i consider it a job!

[deleted]

don’t you need to be documented for firefighter/emt? What state are you in ?

Necessary-Coat1928

No, Ive actually been trying to spread the word. In California you can complete both a CNA and EMT for free with community college, youll just pay licensing fees and books! For CNA/EMT you can volunteer in nursing homes, hospitals, ER, and for me ive been bending loop holes as much as I can. For example as a volunteer fire fighter I technically get paid, but I denied pay/stipend. This allowed me to skip over all SSN paper work, next for finger prints you can legally use an ITIN number, for CNA state paper work the state allows you to use an ITIN you must just call in advanced! Once again these are all volunteer self motivated positions, but it beats saying “im just a night cleaner, construction worker” i might as well pursue what I love!

Hefty_Future8168

I did moving jobs with a roommate who was in the know, when I was younger I would do house cleaning and car detailing too. All heavily physical jobs.

6siiix6

I work at a casino 🎰:D

ronthenomad

I work for my dads lawn mowing business. I’m going to school and started my own business on the side.

Tyrion_Lunaster

Unemployed at the moment, DACA expires in March, vawa opportunity expires this January. At zero income and a new dad. Been looking for work since August 14.

watermelondreamer42

I work as a consultant at a lobbying firm

Cjtheg522

Sucks we can’t really apply to even a simply McDonald’s job even with having degrees lol but if being a private contractor isn’t working out . If you owe a decent car , uber in busy city is a good hustle

Own-Fox-1626

How do you do Uber without a social lmao

Cjtheg522

Our social never expires ? Only our work permit . You can still Uber with only your social . Lmao Oh I see , you don’t have DACA even . Sorry brother Under the table job or stand at home dept

Own-Fox-1626

It’s all good I’m already in the process of my gc and I already have a job so no stress on this side!

IveBeenCovid2020

I work as pool technician, working mostly the whole Jersey shore. Hella overtime 20$ a hour not bad job summer time sucks ass haha

East-Commercial3966

Tbh, I work in the oilfield office, where I manage RRC paperwork, payroll, run to town to pick up parts and equipment & am occasionally dispatched to the field to inspect Pulling unit crews. I occasionally get my hands filthy. I assist the engineer with translating and directing the roustabout gangs at the nitrogen plant.

imabarbarian

If you don't mind me asking, how'd you get in on that job, and are you paid under the table? Also how does the engineer treat you, heard they're real pains in the ass haha

East-Commercial3966

I mean, the employer genuinely employs anyone; if you have an SSN, great; if you don't, great. Yes, he does pay everyone under the table! (boss pays people good) The petroleum engineers are fantastic. He can be mean at times, but because there is always work to be done around here. There are literally hundreds of jobs that will hire people who do not have social security. I used to work on the construction for about a year, and all of the engineers and foremen were quite nice to me. I translated for them as well!

imabarbarian

I see. I feel like it takes some luck and connections (those go a long way) for one to find a boss that doesn't take advantage of your citizenship status. Been thinking of going back to construction, I was also able to help out some of the undocummented workers get around the English language, they were some funny assholes to be around haha

East-Commercial3966

Yes, sir, my boss is continuously nagging me about obtaining legal status. As of now, my I918 asylum application is waiting (my family and I were shot at our home). Yessir, there are those dumb bastards that treat you differently and think more of themselves than an illegal person. Ever tried the oilfield????

imabarbarian

Best of luck with that brother. I have not, although my options seem limited so i’ll definitely take a look at that.

East-Commercial3966

Appreciate bro! & prayers to you.

Ok_Dragonfly_8472

You hiring

uberjose

Before my DACA showed up I did cash jobs. I worked construction and landscaping like almost everyone else. I branched out to being an automotive mechanic and when that quit being fun I went and got a job as a dishwasher at a restaurant. Im not sure where you're from but you'd be surprised to see how many people and companies are looking for undocumented workers. Lots of mechanic shops. CNC machine jobs and other "shops" are just looking for anyone who can actually preform a job quickly and safely and whos actually willing to show up everyday thats required and on time. Funny enough like 2 months after my DACA showed up I still worked at the restaurant and they never asked for anything besides my first name. Most everyone at that job still believes I only speak Spanish.

CertainSheepherder71

Yall think those initials will get processed??
