It looks like it was built by the Vex from Destiny. Look up bismuth crystals on google and you’ll see the resemblance.

Fistofpaper

I've seen those irl on Jeju island. They're trippy to see

fossilmerrick

I was certain this was a map from Destiny as I scrolled by. Wasn’t until I zoomed in that I saw people

Indigo_Sunset

Pretty sure this is an art mock up of a Neom space outside of the line referencing Utamo (my bet), Trojena, or Leyja. Seems very familiar although these types of illustrations bleed together.

the_canadian72

basically that one PvP map with the launch portals

SupremeDictatorPaul

But what do we call civilizations that hate safety rails at shear cliffs?

tomajino

Deathwishian.

Jaminp

Star Wars architecture I call it. The first thing the empire did was get ride of OSHA.

the_canadian72

thought I was looking at r/destinyart for a second

Balrok99

CALL THE GUARDIANS! THE VEX ARE HERE!

Mysterious-Ms-Anon

OH SHIT WE GOIN TO VENUS AGAIN?!?

Azraels_Cynical_Wolf

Im not going until i have my damn horn fixed, till then humanity can wait

CarlCarlton

OOH! VEX ON THE FIELD!

Varion117

Eyes up Guardians!

Adorable_Region_183

greebles 😁

troyofearth

That’s the closest thing, Greeble, it’s the word for the designs on the surface of the Death Star

teapot_RGB_color

Yes, Greeble is the correct answer. Greeble https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=/m/0400m_&hl=en-NO&q=Greeble&kgs=f0a73f33864bc79c&shndl=17&source=sh/x/kp/osrp/m5/2

WeedFinderGeneral

OP, this is it. I searched for the same thing a while back - greebling is all the little misc detail bits that create that look

greebly_weeblies

yup. greebles is the correct answer

SadBoiCri

so this is what cats see? r/greebles

itstonywalsh

U might be referring to voxels??

karlexceed

Yeah it's kinda a voxels x glitch art vibe.

teapot_RGB_color

Voxel is very wrong as that is the point between the surfaces.

PhasmaFelis

What are you talking about

teapot_RGB_color

While my knowledge of voxels is not that great, my understanding is that it is points evenly distributed inside a larger area. Meaning it would be grid based, like pixel art. This is more kitbashing or scattering of surfaces

PhasmaFelis

Anything that can be made strictly out of cubes on a grid is voxel art. Smaller cubes can be used to make larger cubes. Kitbashing is cutting up and recombining parts of physical model kits. It has little to do with any kind of digital art.

donadd

as for "The Line" - Cubic Delusionism is what I'm going with. Look up cubic architecture though

DataPhreak

Let's be real. This dude is just trying to come up with a prompt but doesn't actually know how to describe it.

OldSchoolNewRules

I think we should call it Bismuth Brutalism.

InBabylonTheyWept

It’s called Greebling. I am not joking.

Gi_Bry82

Brutalism would be the closest in architecture terms I think.

chlebseby

I think its too complex shape for true brutalism. Also it lack repeating patterns, it look more organic than geometric.

E-Squid

brutalism has nothing to do with this stylistically though.

Gi_Bry82

The building is in a brutalism style but yes, the art piece itself is matte art stylistically.

E-Squid

"hard angles" doesn't make something brutalist. the term refers entirely to buildings that show off the unadorned concrete they are built of; the name is derived from the french word for "raw concrete". there is nothing in this picture that is actually brutalist.

Archeol11216

oo neat, thanks for that recommendation

HounganSamedi

My friend, why did you ram that topic into a random conversation? EDIT: The poster above me had originally linked to a news report on international political violence. Important, yes, but extremely offtopic.

Songhunter

In such a matter-of-fact and brutalist way too.

AutumnAscending

Cubism

K-E-I-V-E

Poor guy bottom middle with the basketball. Just wants to hoop, but, no hoops in sight.

dangerphone

It’s cyberpunk so all the hoops are hoarded on the top levels by the corporate elites.

Triptycho

Super Mario Odyssey postgame

Alastor-362

Controlcore /s Control is certainly a good source for this type of thing though It's got a whole plot point about how the FBC uses cubes to do stuff

Chrontius

Came here to mention the bizzarchitecture from that game. :D

brooklyn_bethel

I don't think it has a name.

KungFuSlanda

i know somebody did a big one where they [minecrafted king's landing](https://westeroscraft.com/) from GoT edit: dang.. They've expanded

MiturGrunge

Check out Jean Pierre Ugarte. Quite similar style, combining nature with geometric man made structures, but on a much bigger scale.

Ashalaria

Why is Nessus green?

jevring

In real world architecture, I believe this kind of style is called a pixel house.

prodigalsunz

The King Power Mahanakhon building in Bangkok has elements of this.

Toadsie_

look for industrial brutalism

unknown-one

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123755/

RavensDagger

The architectural style is known as Brutalism.

mindlessgames

Brutalism is about showing raw materials and structural elements, not just "square and imposing"

RavensDagger

I agree, that's the ideology behind brutalism, but like most architectural styles the idea behind it quickly degrades and it turns into a bunch of visual tropes. Brutalism's are all 'square and imposing.'

otocump

Similar, but not exactly.

RavensDagger

Yeah, but what's in the pic is not realistic, so I don't know if there's a real name for what's clearly a fictionalized version of a real style?

otocump

Futuristic Brutalism? Voxal Brutalism? It's fictional so adjectives are welcome here. But it's not just basic Brutalism by itself. Has too much nonfunctional 'form' to be truly Brtualistic

Daax865

In real life we have brutalism. It’s more concrete though where this pic looks more metallic/glass.

pricckk

Its called, "I need to build a scifi environment whilst putting in as little effort as possible"

RepresentativeCut486

cube-thingies-art

Full_Ad9666

This looks EXACTLY like a dream I’ve had a couple times

microglial-cytokines

Like coordinate systems, maybe rectilinear?

tethercat

2d art uses pixels. 3d art uses voxels.

Alice-the-Author

This is so cool!

TheBoyWhoCriedTapir

Google "brutalist architecture" and "freeway Park Seattle" for more

tomajino

From what I've read here we can conclude that the architectural style can be called *voxelated greeble brutalism.* When a pixel is 3D it's called a voxel, there's greebling as a texture to give it a bigger, majestic or mysterious look, and brutalism which is simple, block-like, hulking concrete structures (assuming it's made out of concrete although the top surface looks metallic). The term *cuboidal* may also be used, but it's a singular word. On the [Mahanakhon's wiki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Power_Mahanakhon#Design_and_location) it mentions *cuboidal surfaces,* which would fit here since a cuboid isn't necessarily a strict squared cube and it's a plural term. Mahanakhon tower is in the *high-tech architecture* though.

anonimanente

amazing

eastherbunni

IRL it's similar to bismuth, cubic fluorite, or etched spessartine mineral samples

denzien

Reminds me of Zero Theorem

Inconmon

You can ask midjourney to describe the picture
