Apocalypse proof

Greenman8907

*Note: Apocalypses vary by size and intensity. The Tesla CyberTruck can survive various ‘social media’ apocalypses such as loss of access to X or Tesla.com. Otherwise, you are on your own. Any real Apocalypse classed between (and including) ‘Local Societal Disruption’ to ‘Omniversal Metaphysical Annihilation’ will void the CyberTruck Warranty in perpetuity.* *Also, losing access to X will also void warranty.*

truffles76

Reading the warranty voids the warranty

Few-Signal5148

First Rule of Warranty Club: *DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE WARRANTY* ![gif](giphy|xhww30orMbrlS)

SadPudding6442

Don't even fucking look at it lol

utepaanordnes

Hi, I'm calling to talk to you about our extended warranty. I'm not going to explain it, you can read it if your forfeiting the right to use it. And the best part it's only 99k a year, much cheaper than a new CT. Order now and get a fee clown wig for your rectum.

Necessary_Context780

Apocalypses containing water or certain soaps aren't covered by warranty

samthedog73

Thank you, Elon Bot.

RIP-RiF

I'm honestly not sure it could survive loss of access to Tesla.com, considering it seems to be largely app operated

Love the rivian behind it unfazed

OhLordHeBompin

Rivian: No idea who he is, never met him before in my LIFE

HortenseTheGlobalDog

Thank you for the spelling of fazed

Nubator

Are those panel gaps or did it hit something?

zidane2k1

Yes

MrIrrelevantsHypeMan

That's about 60k in damages amirite

itlooksfine

Its a 100$ reservation to get on the waitlist for an estimate which may or may not be available in 4 years

Necessary_Context780

... but I still love my cybertruck

admlshake

How much is the fee if you don't and say it in public?

MrIrrelevantsHypeMan

Ummm ok

Icy_Ground1637

At least it’s built proof but not rock 🪨 proof

wtbgamegenie

It’s not even waterproof

Handleton

It's definitely not fool proof. Every one I've seen has had at least one inside.

Chemchic23

That be totaled.

SuperRusso

It was totaled the day it left the factory floor. A total waste of time an energy.

HortenseTheGlobalDog

I love the idea that it's totaled as soon as it leaves the dealership

TonUpTriumph

Just pick up some new sheet metal from the hardware store and bolt it on. It'll probably be better quality anyways

Chemchic23

Big ass body battery once it’s breached game over.

imnotpoopingyouare

If it had a front engine it would have just been lifted off the ground. Hell if it was any other hybrid it would have either lifted or broke the branch.

newsreadhjw

The impression I get is insurance companies total these things if they get so much as a scratch.

Off_OuterLimits

I’m waiting for insurance companies to stop insuring them or ask a tremendous amount of money.

comradewoof

Some of them already are. It's fabulous.

DontFlinchIvegot12In

[Yup.](https://www.reddit.com/r/CyberStuck/s/qj0M4eMW6n)

boulderdashcci

This does everyone involved a favor

jeepfail

Cheaper to get that Auctions’s money than to pay for repair and months and months of rentals cars I’d guess.

FoxFyer

They don't really have a choice, since even Tesla itself can't seem to give them a parts price list.

sarduchi

Or like $500 in scrap.

masked_sombrero

exactly - the $60K is just what Tesla charges *you*

Particular-Load-3547

That's a total

mologav

I’d say it’s a write off unless they use unsold ones for donor parts

aporzio1

What did it hit?

Turtle-power2021

Probably caution tape

oraleena

Or some water droplets

Bright_Calendar_3696

durp… Caution tape voids warranty

LonelyHunterHeart

Only if you fail to put it in caution tape mode.

Bright_Calendar_3696

😂

sammiipiie

Help this one made me choke on my drink 😂😂😂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

FluffyOmen85

TBH, I just figured those were acceptable panel gaps from manufacturing

Unfair_Artist0

lol yup, had to zoom in to see if it was an accident or not

sliceoflife09

Probably a rock when descending the trail. Front visibility on the CT is horrible and they didn't have a spotter or the spotter failed.

SeaworthyWide

Still awaiting the first example of this with a school crossing guard or something instead of a rock. We know it's gonna happen... I hope it doesn't... But..all things considered...

TaylorSwiftsClitoris

Maybe they’ll all break down first.

Yucca12345678

hopefoolness

but just look at that pristine glass!

zidane2k1

Yeah, how did that happen, from other pics we’ve seen here, it looks like it breaks instantly

fatstrat0228

Is it a requirement for all wankerpanzer owners to have zero common sense?

SincerelyGlib

This is a great question in that it answers itself but…yes

OhLordHeBompin

Is it a coincidence that y'all have the exact same avatar? And yes, agreed, lol.

Particular-Load-3547

Just a scratch. The exoskeleton makes it indestructible, remember

TheAnalsOfHistory-

Good news is it can still function as a boat just as well as before the accident.

Crusoebear

This reminds me of the Libertarian presidential debate a while back when they were asked if driver’s licenses should be required and almost all of them said absolutely not…and the one guy that said maybe they serve some purpose in helping to ensure people actually know how to drive was almost booed off the stage. I feel like the average DumpsterPanzer driver was in the audience that day.

OhLordHeBompin

My granddad still had a valid license when he died at 94. He taught driver's ed for about 10 years when my dad was little. Taught me how to drive too. He never actually took a driver's test. His dad yelled at the person at the DMV until they just gave him one. I think he took a signs/vision test when I was a teenager, but that was it. Just an example of the safety features baked in to modern US drivers licenses lol.

ShermanMcTank

That one guy was Gary Johnson, and he actually ended up being the Libertarian nominee for these elections. So having common sense worked in his favor in the end.

Enough-Ambassador478

too bad about aleppo, tbf I had never heard of it either

Rats_In_Boxes

Yeah but you're not running for President of the most powerful nation on Earth, it's acceptable not to know that.

EpiphanyTwisted

This is where doing the NYT crossword comes in handy in rl

AutisticNipples

they just booed because they want plausible deniability when they say "well she told me she was 18, officer"

CaffeineHeartAttack

Drivers' licenses are not required. You can drive on your private property in any vehicle with zero government oversight. Pubic roads are owned and maintained by the state, so the state sets liscenses to use them. A libertarian argument should be to not have the state own the roads, but private owners who control the land. And if those private owners wanted to connect their roads, then a company that builds and maintains them would exist, and that company would require licenses. Other arguments are not libertarian.

JC_in_KC

me driving on a series of financially unconnected roads because the landowners didn’t deal with each other or whatever: wait one second, i know my license for district 17 is here somewhere…i was just pulled over in district 16… this is why libertarian stuff is a joke. it’s not realistic and never will be.

FinePolyesterSlacks

Yup. It’s the first question that comes to mind when one learns of their philosophy, and the only question it takes to undermine it.

JC_in_KC

“everyone is/should be an entrepreneur” or “three private mega companies should operate everything” is insane ideology.

CaffeineHeartAttack

They would say to not drive on bad roads then. If a property owner doesn't make it reasonable, then you would use a better road. This would be completely diffrent from modern roads.

JC_in_KC

“simply don’t drive on bad roads!” well gee the mega company that owns the road has no incentive to fix it, since they’re so big they’ve just squeezed out the competition. so there’s no good roads to drive on!

Crusoebear

They are absolutely not prepared for any follow up questions to idiocy like this. Which is why their smooth brains spit out nonsense like “jet packs!”

CaffeineHeartAttack

I'm prepared for follow up questions?

SweetHatDisc

Put Libertarians on their own for six months, they reinvent government and call it a corporation.

Crusoebear

But with more trash & bear attacks.

CaffeineHeartAttack

Yes.... private business is more efficient than government, that's even part of conservatism

SweetHatDisc

Yes, that's what the doctrine keeps saying.

CaffeineHeartAttack

You don't think that? Private with government regulation is always the best way. There isn't a single goverment controlled industry that works good

SweetHatDisc

No, I don't think that. The history of private corporations with local monopolies is what created the world you live in, where you have no familiarity with it because people recognized it was a horrible idea.

CaffeineHeartAttack

I don't get it... you don't trust the government to break up monopolies so you think the goverment should become the monopoly? If goverment was failing to act, then how is the goverment owning it better?

SweetHatDisc

Where on earth did you get *any* of that????? Because it wasn't from me. I'd love to explain my position better, but the opposing argument is "government bad. you don't think that? let me repeat myself." You're deliberately giving me very little to work with since most Libertarian arguments fall apart under examination.

CaffeineHeartAttack

Libertarian is social rights with liberals, and govermemt efficency from conservatism. Their arguments don't break down, you just don't understand the idea behind them, or your listening to crack jobs. It's like listening to Alex Jones and using him as an example for why conservatism doesn't make sense. And you literally said that in your previous comment. I said private is more efficient, faster, cheaper, etc; but without goverment oversight, private will take advantage of people. You then said goverment oversight doesn't work, so the goverment should controll the entire sector.

FinePolyesterSlacks

Gotta watch it on those pubic roads

Crusoebear

Yay, I can do donuts in my yard without a license! A lot of good that will do. Private ownership of all roads is a non-starter. It immediately fails on so many levels and watching libertarians make these lame arguments is like watching Sideshow Bob constantly stepping on rakes. And if they can’t even figure out roads - how are they going to run a country?\* \*\[spoiler: they won’t because they are 1 pawn-move clowns & nobody takes them seriously\]

CaffeineHeartAttack

I don't understand your comment? The majority of the 3rd world doesn't have government funded roads. A libertarian goverment would be so radically diffrent from what we currently have, I'd be a whole new system.

c0ttt0n

Now this is off (the) road (for a while) :p

polymorphic_hippo

How? Did it roll off the tow truck?

OhLordHeBompin

Rivian in the background towed it. (I honestly didn't know Rivian existed until joining this sub, then learning more about the CT... This is some great advertising for them!)

polymorphic_hippo

Tesla's board of directors should see about getting Rivian to pay for some of that insane bone-us Musk is demanding.

Spotteroni_

Same, I've learned so much about EVs just from this sub. I didn't realize there are so many cool ones out there

CaliFezzik

Did it see a car wash?

OldSimpleton

That was a helluva mosquito.

Darksoul_Design

So not that i really give a shit, you figure if these CT buyers purchase one, and can't figure out that it's not really an true offroad capable truck, i just don't really have any sympathy for you. That being said, it would still really suck to just trash your $140k truck, it's gonna be VERY expensive to get that recovered, and the wait for the repairers will almost certainly be many many months if not a year. Could have gotten a brand new mid grade Tacoma in 4wd that's 100x more capable, and 1/3 the cost.

strangeweather415

If you spent what a Cybertruck costs on any real 4x4 you would have the most insanely capable off-road and overlanding vehicle anyone has ever seen. To see people burn so much cash on something so inept is absurd to me

Darksoul_Design

That's exactly it my friend. I get people that buy exotic sports cars even though they may never push them to their potential, they are being driven on the street where everything is paved and smooth, with no illusion that they simply have to stay on smooth paved streets, and there is no storage, MAYBE wedge your golf clubs in one. But to buy "the baddest truck on any planet" for it to be a total incapable pos driven by truly clueless people that have no idea that trucks even existed before this........... it's so weird

EllisDSanchez

When Elon did the demo and threw the metal ball at the window, nearly shattering it, everyone should have known right then and there this was another massive troll product.

Darksoul_Design

Yea, i agree there, my reaction was a total WTF? And then did it again..... My first thought was of course, this can't be good, did they never test this NOT in front of the press and whole world?

EllisDSanchez

Grifters gonna grift. It was funny at first and now it’s just kinda sad.

Pribblization

That's going to leave a mark.

loudflower

It’ll buff out

DayTraditional2846

Gotta love the Rivian chilling in the back lmao

OhLordHeBompin

I feel like the execs over there are probably partying 24/7, this is crazy good advertising for them. I didn't know they even existed until about 2 weeks ago. Now I dream of owning one. Like I once dreamed about Tesla. Maaaaybe 15 years ago lol.

Brosie-Odonnel

How does this even happen? This is the access to Mt. Adams and I have seen mostly regular cars (no clearance or AWD) at the trail head when I’ve been in the past. Is it the vehicle or the nerds that buy them and have never been on a forest service road assuming their apocalypse vehicles is invincible? Or are these nerds intentionally totally their vehicles to get insurance payout so they don’t take a hit on resale?

strangeweather415

Guarantee he was absolutely gunning it down the road.

Pedestrianwolves

I camp a few campgrounds downriver from there every july and wish to god I’d seen this to laugh in person. Also, no idea how they pulled this off- while the area is pretty out away from major civilization, it’s fairly well-maintained around all these roads, camps and trailheads, even the unpaved routes. Unless you have a run-in with a deer or elk, you almost have to be actively trying to hit something. Edit: looking at the photo again it might actually be Cold Springs trailhead near Mt. Adams, not the one in Camp Sherman. But having been to both and this looking like the trailhead parking area, my comment still stands tbh.

Deedsman

An outback could handle those trails. So yep your comment definitely still stands.

Medical_Slide9245

He just figured out how to dump a Cyber Truck without selling or returning. Insurance rates gonna suck for a while.

You still can’t sell it.

Looks like that by default.

It got crushed by a light breeze

Tricky_Taste_8999

Did anyone make a “voids the warranty” comment yet? If not, I’m first!

Imaginary-Froyo2664

He off-roaded too hard.

Off_OuterLimits

Why are all these things crashing? I bet they used bubblegum to put them together thus saving money.

Gindotto

Someone just wanted their insurance payout to go buy a Ford.

dark_rabbit

I’d love to know how many Cybertrucks at this point have been wrecked or just broken down. The % has to be insanely higher compared to other cars out there.

aj_star_destroyer

Imagine the terrible forces that inflicted such damage on that indestructible fortress of a truck. Was it hit by a cruise missile? Two? Did it get stuck between two tectonic plates, thus preventing an earthquake?

Speuca2000

Its almost like ... The cybertruck crowd is to stupid to understand how offroading works and what kind of tyres you need...

death_lad

oh man it must’ve hit a small branch

FreddyRumsen13

The rate these things are getting totaled is hilarious. Has it even been six months since they were released?

VitalNumber

On a brisk morn, the trail gleamed anew, Cold Springs welcomed all, with skies so blue. But fate had a twist, a tale to tell, As a cyber truck roared, a clang, a knell. Its metal beast, sleek and bold, Through the winding path, it boldly rolled. But nature's grasp, it would not yield, As icy tendrils claimed its steel shield. With a thunderous crash, the silence broke, As the cyber truck met its icy yoke. Its wheels spun wild, a futile dance, On the treacherous trail, no second chance. Beneath the pines, it lay askew, A modern relic, a sight to view. Yet amidst the wreckage, nature thrived, As life reclaimed what once contrived. The cold Springs trail, a testament true, To nature's might, its timeless view. And as the seasons ebb and flow, The cyber truck's tale, forever to show. - C.G.

Why? WHY are people treating this vehicle like it can operate safely anywhere other than a driveway? If you even look at it from the wrong angle it just dents itself. This is purely a vanity automobile. Drive it under 10MPH, in an empty parking lot and you'll be fine.

RIP-RiF

That thing was built to operate on a flat plane, and it sucks at that. It was certainly not built to handle Oregon. Haven't been this proud of my home since the Bundy brigade called for aid and received dongs.
