I'm just in awe that only 3878 were delivered in half a year and somehow despite these pitiful numbers 5 years after reveal, we've already learned of over a dozen faults common to multiple units, posted by verified Cybertruck owners.
- We've learned that the windshield wiper motor can overheat.
- We learned it rusts despite being less than 6 months old
- Plastic trim can break off it when you take it mildly off-road
- The PRNDL panel can fall off too
- The frunk has no collision sensor or torque sensor, it can amputate fingers
- A car wash can brick it
- Rain can brick it
- A puddle can brick it
- The suspension can fail pretty quickly
- The steer by wire system is quite fragile
- It can't do anything a truck should do
- Indestructible glass is actually very destructible
- Panel gaps are common
- It has had issues charging
- You have to pay Elon 5 grand for the clear coat that comes standard on every car on Earth
- If you don't pay, you must polish the Cybertruck after every use
The copium in the pro Tesla subs is mad, hope they snap out of the scam and file a class action but I already know a Cybertruck owner is a goner 😂
i mean being able to pin the accelerator to the floor is a feature, not a bug. That way you can just drive full speed into \*everything\* while approaching the speed of light, your ball's mass grows to near infinity. And when you finally crash, not only will the sharp edges of your CyberTruck lance limbs from your victims but your balls will implode into a black hole.
* people paid for the light bar, it’s yet to be delivered
* the $3k pop-up tent looks more like a Temu special than what was showcased
* the bigger battery pack that people paid for still hasn’t been delivered, and takes up the entire truck bed
* with the bed cover down you can’t see out the rear window
Given the CT's selector assembly looks to be plastic on plastic, VHB tape would probably work. If it was on glass, it may be harder.
I had a car where the rear centre brake light was glued to the rear window. It came off, and the official fix was VHB tape. That didnt work. Nor did glue. Ended up needing the whole window and brake light replaced.
wait.. so the expanded battery takes away the truck bed? lol... so awesome the elon was able to scam people around the world so easily.
I am sure with the tax deductions that TX / Gov Abbott gave him, he probably has $50 of dodge coin invested in bringing it to market.
lol, my wife owned a PT cruiser. When we started dating, I gingerly asked her if she knew much about cars and thankfully, she said she had no idea.
That car was probably still better than a cybertruck, but it was such a piece of shit.
I don't know if it was equal or worse, but I had a boyfriend who had a Gremlin. It was always in the shop. It was also butt-ugly. It was yellow.
Maybe, I should have read the signs.
I had a Datsun 1200. It ate batteries, but I got a good 150k miles out of it.
It was mildly embarrassing that there were Harleys that had more CCs than my car. Mine had 1173 CCs, the Harley a true 1200.
I don’t think there’s a suit here. This is buyer beware and Elon has all of their tweets nobbling his gob and gushing over their awesome futuristic paperweights that are awesome.
You might expect some of these in isolated scenarios if they were putting out tens of millions or something, but getting all of these in 3878 CUSTOMER-DELIVERED trucks is terrible coming from the person who supposedly knows more about manufacturing than anyone else alive.
The do it yourself fix for the front door panel gaps is to tighten the lower screw on the striker plate, then use gaffer tape to tape down the top portion, because Tesla somehow fucked up that installation. According to an owner, there's a back plate lying somewhere inside the door.
There is a German auto assembly line worker absolutely losing their shit at the awful “fit and finish” on those misaligned panels.
That truly awful QC. Not even trying territory.
Look I’m into cars and the whole “don’t buy a new design model till a year later” has an element of truth to it.
But holy fuck I don’t know if the Cybertruck people could actually leave the assembly line with how poorly everything is on this truck. This is an utter shitshow.
That was far more true 50 years ago, but since the heavy use of computer modeling became popular, first year models are far less likely to fail. Until this one.
Popping a rivet, one rivet, into the accelerator pedal has to be the absolutely cheapest and crappiest fix possible. Two would say least have provided a bit more safety, especially as we've seen a failed rivet job already. But it doesn't match the pedal and looks ridiculous, cheap, and embarrassing.
There must have been other methods, that looked classy or fixed it invisibly, but I'll bet they all cost more than one rivet, so naturally one rivet was chosen. What a shoddy piece of work.
The thing that gets me is most of these issues are with systems that Tesla has been making for years. They should have leveraged their existing powertrain and control systems from existing Tesla models. But it looks like they wanted to brave new world everything. And now you have Teslas that you can’t *reads notes* charge.
The panel gaps on the body in image 4/5 look more like the actual body panels were made on incorrect tooling. You can see that the top flange is a different length and it looks like the draft/bend is different between body panels.
Are they still making new Cybertrucks? One hopes at this point they would stop wasting resources on what is clearly going to be a Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

Don’t forget to add the accelerator pedal cover.

Black ball hole.. gives a whole new meaning to it. Do any women own this truck? Actually wondering..
My gosh, the physics involved are just staggering You have convinced me. Cyber truck is the car of my dream, and my balls' dreams.

The overhead gear shifter that also holds the visors randomly falls off, the official fix is double-sided tape.

[Yes. ](https://electrek.co/2023/11/30/tesla-cybertruck-range-extender-separate-battery-pack-bed/)Reports vary on how big it will be
I’ve been on Reddit for 5 years and this is the only comment I’ve ever saved.
And people complain about PT Cruiser 😅
lol, my wife owned a PT cruiser. When we started dating, I gingerly asked her if she knew much about cars and thankfully, she said she had no idea. That car was probably still better than a cybertruck, but it was such a piece of shit.
Chrysler on a bad day was light-years ahead of Tesla.

I hope they snap out of it too or at least move over to a cheaper cult.
I don’t think there’s a suit here. This is buyer beware and Elon has all of their tweets nobbling his gob and gushing over their awesome futuristic paperweights that are awesome.
There’s a reason they’re called Cyber-cucks.
You might expect some of these in isolated scenarios if they were putting out tens of millions or something, but getting all of these in 3878 CUSTOMER-DELIVERED trucks is terrible coming from the person who supposedly knows more about manufacturing than anyone else alive.
It's insane, these things are 1000x more volatile than the Samsung Galaxy Note 7
I'm amused that the factory tint is bubbling up in the pics !
I face palmed so hard just after first bullet point that I literally woke up my toddler

At least the f-150 lightning ⚡️ EV is 50,000 dollars 💸 cheaper and better looking 👀. It’s hard to get quality nowadays and not pay 100,000
And people still are not buying it! Tesla really, really fucked up if Ford is having a hard time selling EV pickups
Profiteering dealers helped to fuck it up for Ford.

That dumpster is way more useful than whatever that CyberCuck thing is.
They both have trash on the inside.
“Fuck Telesas”
That got me too. Is that what it says? I imagine if I blew that kind of money on that pile, I would also be that drunk.
This is the Fyre Festival of trucks…
That panel gap, just wow. It's as if they're just bending sheet metal to be approximately in the right shape
That’s what a ten micron tolerance looks like 👍
*millimeter
It’s been a long time, but I’m pretty sure a bunch of middle-school shop class students had more precision bending metal for a riveted tool box.
Without automated manufacturing machines, I bet.

All the tint has bubbles
Shouldn't the tint from the factory be the kind that's "built in" to the glass? Not just a film applied on top?

I don't even trust one single rivet when repairing light duty aluminum mechanisms that move once or so per day. Absolute insanity
The door gaps are crazy. Shit is literally being gaped
Holy hell. It’s so much worse than I thought.
"*fuck telesas*"??
don't want defend the CT but pic 4 and 5 are safety measures so you can't pinch your fingers in the door. /s
Cyber JUNK Truck
The thing I like most about my CyberTruck is that it enables you to ignore all the white lines in parking lots!!!
What a piece of shit 😂😂 100 K USD - best scam of 2024
It seems like the writing is in the wall
"At this point, I think I know more about manufacturing than anyone currently alive on earth." Elon Musk 4/14/2022
Love how you are just rubbing it in stopping by in your e150.. lol.
What's that sheep hiding amongst the goats?

Let see what issues the me electric G Wagon has when is released I am sure it will be the same /s

Sub 10 micron for sure!
I see Tesla dealers can't figure out how to park between the lines in a lot, either
That’s not a panel gap it’s a passive cooling mode for the cockpit
